EDIT: Almost 2 years later and this bag is still in great condition, and I've used it nearly every day. Zips all still work and no rips in the fabric. Upgraded to 5*I've had a snowboard rucksack before, an Ogio branded one. It was excellent and I used it on a few holidays so I know it worked.This one seems to be made from MUCH thinner fabric. When you hold it up you can see light coming inside thru the bottom of the bag. The part that would be in contact with the sharp edges of your board do actually seem quite good, like they wouldn't get ripped thru in seconds, but that remains to be seen.The stitching doesn't look like it'll last forever either.Positives - it looks awesome, it's light,

As a college student, I have a lot of stuff to carry so that I can stay on campus all day. I had a previous backpack that would not fit all that I needed for the classes (lab notebooks, laptop, binders, spiral notebooks, and lunch). Now that I have this backpack, I can fit all that I need and still have leftover room. Course I don't need the buckles (other than to be silly and buckle myself in for safety purposes), but I'm sure if I ever go on an outdoor excursion - I'd be prepared. Just from feeling and eyeballing the material on the backpack, I know I got my money's worth cause it looks ridiculously durable. I will probably use this backpack for many years and I'm glad I purchased it.

Have been looking for a replacement backpack for a while -- for travel and work. This one seemed like a good choice since I could strap my yoga mat in the back, it has a lap top sleeve, it has lots of small pockets for odds and ends, the straps adjust weight very well so it doesn't feel too heavy with my laptop and papers, and I love the pattern! Two complaints though -- 1) the backpack back end and straps aren't very breathable, so it gets rather heated very quickly -- learned this while I biked to work with it on my back, was nice and breezy but my back got sweaty really quickly. 2) it holds books and papers fine, but for more bulky stuff the bag is a bit narrow,

I really like this backpack design. I've had it for two weeks now. I needed a backpack primarily for school, but that would also not leave me wanting during a bike ride or camping trip. It handles a good load of books in the main compartment as well as the computer safely tucked into its own slot. I don't find the goggle compartment very useful, it's actually just in my way a little bit when I'm digging for the computer. the smaller compartments on the exterior are well crafted. The fabric finish isn't for everyone, I chose it because of the added water resistance. It looks really sharp though, is very very comfortable and secure, seems to be constructed for durability. Great backpack for day camping or hiking. I was able to fit everything I needed and more. The straps are sturdy and well made. I attached a 15lb tent to them and they help up nice. The two straps in the front remain snug even when the backpack is full and you're hiking for several hours. The only downside I found was when I had been a few hours into my hike the shoulder straps started to be slightly abrasive on my shoulders.. However this was most likely due to me carrying 30ish pounds of gear while hiking all day, and not the backpack itself. All the little pockets are fantastic. The upper pocket is very helpful since I wear glasses and have some more delicate items I bring with on

I absolutely love this backpack. I have used it for over a year and have not had a single problem. I used it daily for 2 semesters at college. It carried books, clothing, laptop, xbox, and of course, beers. The capacity is great, but not as much as some of Dakine's larger backpacks. I also use this when I go snowboarding and it is fantastic. It holds hats, goggles, mittens, bluetooth speaker, multiple nalgene bottles, and again, beers. The multiple straps keep it very secure when I ride. Cannot say one bad thing about this pack, especially after all the abuse it has seen from me and how well it has held up.

Really Good Backpack, all the pockets are super handy, the only problem was at first the snowboard goggle pocket was bothering me. After a while though you get used to the backpack, the most important thing is to spend time adjusting all the straps. The Sternum and Waist straps dont feel right unless the main straps are adjusted. Besides that the only other thing is that it doesnt hold a street skateboard too snugly, it just kinda slips and hangs by the truck it just isnt as secure, with a long board or snowboard this thing is perfect, any long board thats 9" or wider will fit super snugly.

Love this backpack! It was great for an 11-day backpack trip in Mexico. Held up and the storage compartments were smartly placed. I am glad it had extra buckle straps to hold sandals or a towel. I hope it holds up for many years, in my experience Dakine products are quite durable. My only concern would be the zipper quality. Love the color, I was worried it would be too bright. I wish I had waited a little while to purchase, less than 60 days later the backpack was $18 less than what I paid. I should have kept an eye on the price.

This backpack is the most versatile and best made I've ever purchased. It's just extremely well thought out. The 'skateboad straps' in front are perfect for strapping a light jacket to. Or towel at beach. The hidden pouch in the back is excellent for hiding things or putting sunglasses. I have 'work' bags and 'ski/surf' bags that are better for those exact tasks but overall this is the most versatile and I frequently just use for everything. Just bought a second one in gray. First one was pewter - great colors.

I have no had this backpack for 2 years and I love it! It has held up great, has taken me across the country a couple times and still not a single thing wrong with it. I started using it for school and then when I graduated I just use it for every day use. I take it to work with me, trips, anywhere I may go, it usually comes with. The color has started to darken but I'm pretty sure that's my doing and not theirs :] Overall, I highly recommend this product.

The smallest pack I've ever had and holds more than any pack I've ever had. The organizer pockets and compartments in this bag are so well placed that even when every cubic inch is filled it still sits on your back comfortably without being in the way of everything behind you. The goggles pocket is a nice touch and the snowboard straps on the back are are awesome. I even use them to cart my skateboard around with me on the plane.

Bought this for my high-school aged boy. His first comment was how it held the same amount as his much bulkier previous bag. He loves the compact size, says it feels good on his back and is pleased with the flexibility of being able to carry strap his skateboard in. His previous backpack was large--even had a padded section for a laptop. This bag holds everything he used to carry in the much larger one!

The photos here weren't very helpful, but I found more details elsewhere on the web. Great price, great bag! Big enough for my 15-inch Macbook, ASUS Transformer, Kindle Touch, Beats by Dre Pro headphones, digital camera, all my chargers, and several other things... with room to spare. Multiple pockets make it a much better carry-on for long flights than my 30L North Face daypack.

Been using for a few months. It’s much more comfortable than previous bags and has good capacity. Wish it had more pockets and a way to securely attach water bottle to side pocket (can’t because they are both zipper style- look at pictures in product description). Also a bit tall for my liking which can be annoying at times and also in appearance. But other than that- great

I bought this backpack to carry my snowboard around in Zermatt, Switzerland. I will hold any board and it is pretty comfortable as well. I put four stars down because this is not a waterproof backpack. The picture with the camera in the fleece pocket is really nice and will protect your valuables. I had a nasty crash and did a couple flips but camera was perfectly ok!!
