Tetris is quite possibly the greatest video game ever made. It's over 20 years old, and has appeared on virtually every console ever since it's original release on the first Game Boy.Those of you of a certain age will no doubt have very fond memories of playing Tetris on their house-brick sized Game Boys, and it's fair to say that amongst the myriad of Tetris incarnations that have appeared in the years since, there has never really been a version since that has generated the same level of magic.Until now.Tetris Party Deluxedelivers something that is quite unexpected. It's actually pretty good.The premise behind Tetris is so simple, fit falling shapes together to make them disappear.And it is perhaps due to its simplicity that Tetris games are so often tampered with in an effort to try and re-intent, or inject new life into the game. In my view, such tampering is almost criminal, and certainly unnecessary.Tetris Party Deluxe however, is different. The tampering is minimal, and has simply been limited to the design. The gameplay and premise remain the same. But now, the design and interface are sharper, as befits a modern generation console.There are of course, many different modes and variations from which the player can choose. But right at the centre of it all is the original, untouched, unspoiled version of Tetris. There's no explosions, no silly cartoon-esque animations, it's all very basic and simply serves to make the game smoother to play, and almost impossible to put down.The inclusion of the multiplayer settings though is a stroke of genius. For a start, you can play against a friend even if only one of you has the game, and if you have home broadband, you can play multiplayer with people all over the world.There's a lot of talk about multiplayer, and online play, and for the single player this can seen frustrating. Not everyone wants to play online, and Nintendo recognise this. Which is perhaps why the single player modes are so polished on this version.All in all this game is an absolute must-have for those of us who remember fondly the gaming days of yore, and wish to relive some of the magic. If you only buy one game this year, buy this one. Tetris Party Deluxe is a joy to behold, and is a real demonstration that games needn't be dripping in honey to be decent.Tetris as a concept has lasted for more than 20 years. I doubt very much that any other video game will be able to do the same.Buy with confidence, and make a space on your 'never-trade-in' shelf.

I bough this game when I found it on sale because me and mother are huge fans of the orginal GameBoy game.It has many new versions of the game and its more challenging but I was dissapointed that it didn't have the original 80's version of the game.ProsNew(ish) environmentSame Music (Yeah!!!)Brighter&Warmer ColoursMany different versions of the gameConsThe original is simply not there...A bit confusing at firstNot much stylus actionA great game, in a great price which promises hours of fun yet I don't think that the new generation will appreciate it...

I use to love Tetris, and played it on my gameboy color, in the past year I've been addicted to it again but online. I was thinking of trying to find and old Gameboy game of it then I saw the advert for this new Tetris Party! So much better! So lovely and colourful! There are various modes you can play Tetris in, one I particularly like is the shadow mode, trying to fill a large shadow shape with tetriminos perfectly instead of just lines. I'm addicted! I sit and play it whilst watching TV!

This is soo much better than the Tetris for the DS - you still don't need to use the stylus, but there is so many different tetris type games to play. I haven't used the multiplayer option yet - still building skills on the single player - this is a must have - and will remind you of all the reasons tetris was such a great hit all those years ago - enjoy...

Arrived within specified time, everything intact. It was good value for money, compared to buying in town. Fun to play for a while, then gets a bit boring, or maybe its because I thought from the slight title change, it was going to be different.

A brilliant product of really good quality, a reasonable price, easy simple transaction, arrived very quickly and would completely recommend. Good game, really recommend as a interesting and good game to play, perfect for kids.

This game is really good and fun. I haven't worked out yet how to play the other tetris games but i know how to play the marathon on it. I would certainly recommend it if you have the skills for the game and patience.

I used to love the old game boy tetris, when i found out that Nintendo had one i just had to have it . It is just great to have the game again,can recomend it to anyone .

bought this for my 8 year old daughter and she absolutely loves it. It has clear instructions and beginners mode to get you started or for younger siblings to use.

Great game, made a fantastic Christmas gift. Fun, and enjoyable, the old classic! Would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for the highly addictive classic.

this is good fun and very challenging, bril in colour compared to the old game boy version, although the words flashing on screan sometimes be a put off

this game is a new way to experience Tetris altogether! it was so much fun and all the different game types meant i will never get boreed of it.
