Update: Aug 2015 - It looks like there is a new version of this bag, so please note that the description below may no longer be accurate - they removed the side-pockets for water-bottles. This bag looks much nicer. I have used this bag everyday for two years now and the only thing that is damaged is a small hole near the big zipper. Bag is still functional. Actually thinking about ordering this new updated model, looks nicer then the old one.I vent back to university and had to find a good backpack to fit all the books. I have used a cabin-bag from Targus for about six years and i love it. I have travel half of south-east asia with it. Used it for weekendtrips and million other things. It never breaks and it is extremely durable. So when I needed to buy a bag for all the school books Targus obvious choice.I really like the bag. It seems very durable. Quite comfortable to wear the bag on the back but sometimes the handle hit my neck/head which I don't like. Dont happen so often or I might have got used to it so I don't even notice it. Other than that the only other thing I don't like is the side pockets to put bottles in. I never really use it and makes the bag look a bit bulkier. Also it make the bag a bit wider which is not so good when walking inside the city buses and trains here in Sweden. I use to hit seats and people when I passes them. Most of the time I use to take the bag off before I enter the bus if its crowded. But other than that I am very happy with the bag. It serves its purpose. I removed the plastic-air protection from the main compartment and put all the heavy literature in there. I never bring my laptop to university. I have an 8 inch tablet that fit perfectly in the folder pocket in the top of the middle compartments of the bag. I really like that the most about the bag. Very lucky. Plus I use the front compartment with its many pockets to put all the pen and rubbers. And food goes down in the middle compartment. Works out very good.I would recommend this bag except if you care about appearance to much. Then find another bag. But for usefulness this bag is rock solid. Who knows, I might even start using the side pockets to put a water-bottle or coffe Thermos. They would be perfect for that.

Bought this backpack from Amazon on April 2017, 11 months ago, with daily use to the office and back and I really wanted to give this feedback because I think it is deserved.I have been daily carrying a 15.6 inch laptop plus several other things (tablet, documents, many personal items, ext hdd, usb cables etc.). I use it between home and office and on all my business air travel. This backpack has stood exceptionally well with zero issues so far. Throughout the years I have used several laptop backpacks of many well known manufacturers even more than twice the price of the Targus, but quality wise and from functionality point of view I believe this Targus is on a different level.Storage capacity is top and compartment arrangement is simply the best I have seen so far (and I have owned a lot of backpacks). It is also very discreet, all black no fancy logos etc. so very good for professional use.So far I had no issue at all and did not need to use the warranty, so I cannot comment on their customer service. That being said, I would look at no other manufacturer and would definitely buy this backpack again if needed.I would surely recommend it, especially for professional use.

Update: Feb 2014 - It looks like there is a new version of this bag, so please note that the description below may no longer be accurate - my bag is still going strong and looks as new after over 2 years.I picked one of these up for a 3 week trip with my laptop including several flights and it performed just as I wanted. It's made of very tough thick-weave nylon and while it won't win any fashion prizes it actually looks quite stylish in an understated way. The straps are nice and thick and feel comfortable to wear, it has a phone holder on the shoulder (although I prefer to use my pocket), a bottle holder on each side and a waist strap that can be removed completely. It also has the ability to slip over the extendable handle of a trolley case, though I found the handle was too short on my medium-sized case - this will work better on a small trolley case with a long handle. The zips feel heavy duty and are lockable on the main sections. At the back you have the laptop compartment, which contains some air-filled plastic tubes held in place with velcro to hold the laptop in place - these can be adjusted to the correct size. I was carrying a 13" Sony Vaio laptop inside a

I was not sure whether paying extra was worth it after carefully sought what the market offered. But since the bag arrived I am quite confident it was the best choice I could have made. My former Targus lasted for 7 years and after all that time the only problem I had was a shoulder strap became unstitched recently. During that time I used the bag every other day and travelled a lot with it with no problems. This pushed me to replace it and buy this bag. There is no worries about volume or space. It is huge and you can easily put a laptop, accessories, books, documents,... I packed mine weighting 10kg but I did not feel carrying that load. In the laptop part, there are a few extra things that will help you keep your treasure safe from hits, protecting it and cushioning every time you leave the bag on the ground. Also the bottom part is protected with leather extra lay and slightly cushion material too. Besides, I like the small elastic strip that reinforces shoulder straps from becoming unstitched. Hopefully it could last for another 7 years or longer and I could bring in as cabin luggage in aircrafts too as I did with the former.

UPDATE - 4 Years onThis bag really is amazing, after 4 years of heavy use, it's only showing the lightest of wear. Everything still works perfectly. This has been round the world a few times, has traveled over 120,000 miles bouncing round in my van, spends hours a week on my back either walking or cycling and spends has spent at least a year in the past 4 years outside dealing with sun, rain, dust.Looks like I'll be leaving this in my will!I now need a another laptop bag for another laptop, as far as i'm concerned I will only consider Targus.Original reviewOne of my best purchases, it's unassuming, reliable and quality. Mine takes a pounding, be it sitting on wet grass, flying around on my back whilst cycling off road or flying around the back of my van.All the time protecting my laptop and software from the elements and without drawing attention to itself.Storage wise there's plenty of compartments.

I am a Director wanting a corporate style rucksack to commute in, and also when visiting suppliers, customers etc.I also wanted something that I could put a shirt and overnight kit in for the odd overnight stay.I prefer a rucksack due to a bit of a bad back.I love this bag because:- it looks about as corporate as a rucksack (at £50) could- it is not too bulky like some of the rucksacks more relevant for leisure walking- the quality is good, e.g. it has a rubberised bottom which means it can stand up neatly by itself instead of flopping about- it fits a laptop, charger, and basic overnight kitHighly recommend. This is the third rucksack I've used and the only one I would buy again for this purpose.

My second Targus backpack (I have had the last one for about 8 years) Well made and very good value compared to others on the market.Slips over wheel-along luggage handle wich is great and has 2 good sized water bottle pockets. laptop section is configurable to allow for diff sizes of laptop. Second section has dividers to allow you to orgniase papaers files etc.Front section has dividers for CDs and some internal pockets which are a tad annoying(does anyone carry CD's anymore? Or at least enought to warrnat dedicated space?Removable waist strap.Very pleased with the purchase here's to another 8 years.

Your search is over. Forget any other laptop bags. I researched extensively to find the right product which would hold my laptop, cables, papers, phone chargers and all sorts of junk, was able to be used as a backpack (makes travelling so much easier) was tough, wouldn't fall apart and would be great as a piece of hand luggage on flights. This is it. It's been with me 6 months, it's been all over the place and flown with me to numerous parts of the world. It might seem expensive, but it's very well made, does everything I want, and comes with a lifetime guarantee.Highly recommended

Really please with this case after a couple of months use, good organisation and quality! My last case was a Targus and it lasted my for years so happily went for Targus again. Pleased I did. One thing I would have liked which nearly made he go with another brand (no Targus cases have them) was a pocket on the strap, easy access pocket for things like train tickets/phones etc.

I bought this item primarily for my laptop and documents. I also referred to the reviews which were very helpful. It has certainly lived up to the great reviews and it's high reputation. I was also pleasantly surprised at how supportive the back straps are and how light it feels on your back, especially with the laptop and all my documents in it.

Who would think of spending £50+ on a backpack? Without inspecting it?I bought one of these for my other half for when she has to go to see clients by train. Very nice.. well made.. well thought out.. comfortable, plenty of pockets and smart.Worth £50+?Yes.Update: Lasting really well. Used daily. Still looks brand new.

Excellent bag though I wish it came in other colours. took it on an overnight work trip with laptop, tablet, accessories and overnight clothing (including a travel iron). Was comfortable to use and handled it perfectly. The only thing I wish i has it a key hook in one of the compartments but hey that's a minor detail.

21.4.2010

I find it comfortable, it looks and feels nice (way better compared to a cheap Targus model I've seen at some PC shop)One difference from corresponding US model CUCT02B is that it's not a Zip-Thru version. Fine for me as I don't fly a lot and wouldn't mind taking the laptop out for security.

3.9.2016

Extremely well built bag, it has been mistreated for a couple of months already and is standing up to the test at the moment. Two of the best things about this bag is the amount of storage space and the coating on the bottom of the bag to stop it from getting scuffed easily.

5.1.2015

Excellent bag. I can't say more than other have already stated here. Let's just say it is a very versatile, roomy, comfortable bag with a great secure pocket to keep your priced laptop in. Not cheep but well worth it. If you need the space and value your laptop, buy one.
