This is a smart bag for a laptop, the design looks nice and aesthetics is definitely what they were trying to achieve here, the bag is a fashion item so if you are looking to purchase this then some thought must be given to the circumstances you will use this for.I do a lot of travelling for work, often travelling through busy airports and train stations. I would not use this laptop bag on these journeys as i do not believe it offers anywhere near the protection you need to give your laptop in these environments. The only real protection is some small amount of padding on the sides, there is no protection on the bottom and apart from the sides no attempt to make the bag protect the contents better than a normal courier bag.The reason why this gets 4* is because i don not believe it was designed with this use in mind. However if what you want the bag for is the occasional moving of your laptop to work, a friends house etc. then this would most likely be fine for this use as the chances of it taking knocks are much lower. The other use may be to be used to store the laptop away in your house. Basically using the bag to store all the components for the laptop together. The bag fits my 15.6" laptop in, there is enough space in the front pockets for my mouse and the power adapter, further to this there are document pockets on the back of the bag and in the main compartment, however when a laptop is placed in it they really are not that practical to use.Overall it is a nice stylish bag that holds a laptop and its cables, I would not recommend this as a bag to protect the laptop against any impact that might occur from travelling, but for storage and taking your laptop locally it should be fine

While relatively inexpensive, I've always found Targus products to be pretty good quality. This bag is no exception. The padding isn't sufficient to protect your laptop from a good kicking down the stairs, but that's not the point. For general carriage, say between the office and the boot of your car, or on public transport providing you've not got much else to carry, this is ideal. As the item description mentions, there are two pockets on the outside of the bag, for small items, with concealed zips that disguise their existence from your neighbourhood pickpocket, though in all honesty they'd probably just nick the whole bag. On the other side of the bag is the usual document pocket, secured with a small rectangle of Velcro. Inside the bag, there is a main pocket for the laptop and another slim document pocket that runs the full width of the interior. The straps for both the handles and the shoulder strap are made from the same type of material as car seatbelts, so will last well, The handles have leatherette grips and appear to be solidly stitched to the bag proper. The shoulder strap is removable and locks onto the bag using the ubiquitous plastic hooked clips that can sometimes be a weak point. I prefer metal, but at this price point I may be asking too much. The shoulder pad is not very thick, or particularly well padded, but should perform adequately given that the bag is unlikely to be used to carry heavy items.I'll be using it as a briefcase/document carrier for the next few months and will update this review if there are any significant performance/longevity issues.

This is a great sleeve, that is has enough room for a few accessories. I have been able to fit in a HP 15.6" Laptop, Power Adapter, a Samsung Slimline external DVD Re-writer, a mini mouse and a couple USB sticks in a small wallet. Just know that, I could fit this many items because the HP 15.6" Envy is so thin that it could not have an inbuilt DVD Re-Writer, that's why I carry an external equally slim Re-writer. I think if you have a standard Laptop, you may only carry the Laptop and it's adapter.Material looks look, I have the black variant and I think it looks better than it's grey sister. I have removed a star because even though it's a budget sleeve, they could have cushioned the bottom just like they did the sides where the zip runs. The bottom is almost unprotected. The rexine - like material that runs on the side would have provided excellent protection if it continued at the bottom all the way to the other side. If you dropped you laptop and it hits the floor on the side, the impact will not be as bad as if it lands on it's bottom. If that would be more costly, then they could have just reinforced the bottom because it's most likely you laptop bag will hit the ground on it's bottom and not side. Due to pockets the front and back feel reasonably padded so my complaint bis just on the bottom. Other than that, this is a great sleeve.

This is a pretty neat case, doing pretty much everything but I would say it looks just a tiny bit too cheap for me.If you're just wanting it to protect your laptop around the home etc then I'd say it does everything you want. It's pretty lightweight, has handles and a shoulder strap, and an internal pocket for your charger. That pocket and the charger don't change the shape of the bag, which is snug around my 15.6 inch HP laptop. That snugness affects the padding slightly, I guess - those old school laptop bags which everyone has/used to have would provide more protection than this but I think it does the job and unless something really goes wrong (you chuck your laptop and bag around)it will be fine. The area it is slightly let down is its appearance. In some lights the bag looks really quite smart - as in the picture on Amazon - but in others it looks what it is, which is quite cheap material. The 'leather bits' are plastic or cheap leather (at best) and the rest of the material is a little too polyester for my liking. If I had a really serious office job (I don't) then I'm not sure I would quite take it in.So for me: practically, it does what you need. Stylistically, the shape etc are really nice, but the material lets it down which makes it only a four star.

I really like this unfussy, smart looking and practical laptop bag. It is nicely finished in a black nylon which looks like it will protect the contents from light rainfall and prove durable. It has some neat trims to the ends and handles in a leather resembling black PVC which enhances the overall appearance. The main pocket is divided into two sections by a slim lining and has a two way zip fastener. The main pocket accommodates my 15" Macbook Pro with room to spare and is padded to protect the machine, which I also have cased. In addition there are two zipped pockets on the outside front of the bag. The larger of the two easily stores the charging cable and plug for my Macbook Pro while the smaller ,safely and securely, easily accepts my iPhone 6. To the outside rear of the case there is a further large pocket which will readily take A4 sized stationery. The zips move freely and smoothly and their grips are large enough to find easily and are finished with the same black PVC material. It also comes with a padded shoulder strap for easy carriage, giving the options for it to be used either as a brief case or shoulder bag. Your choice! At just over £13, it has to great value and will give you a good run for your money. Recommend!

The Targus TSS594EU City Smart Slipcase is a decent enough budget laptop case and is currently pretty good value at under fourteen quid from Amazon. Made of fairly tough nylon material the slipcase features two zipped front pockets, one large and one smaller, a large rear slip pocket fastened with Velcro and there is a shoulder strap included – but the D rings on the slipcase itself seem a bit insubstantial so I doubt I will use this feature. There is very little padding in this case so if your laptop is liable to get a bit of rough treatment then this is not the best option for you but it is serviceable enough for most day to day usage.I am using mine to store an old Sony VAIO and it fits well and the pockets have proved useful for a few accessories too. This Targus model is available in a choice of black or grey – but at the time of this review the grey one is quite a bit more expensive than my black version. There is a lot of competition in this market and at under fourteen pounds this Targus slipcase stands up quite well and I can give it four stars – with a price nearer twenty quid that would drop to three stars mainly for the lack of protective padding. Serviceable enough without being exceptional.

This bridges the gap between a basic slipcase and full-sized bag. It is compact and slim but has useful storage for accessories. Pockets are as follows:- Large zipped front-left pocket (suitable for charger, cable and plug)- Small zipped front-right pocket (suitable for mouse)- Rear full width document pocket (velcro closure)- Full width open pocket inside laptop compartmentThe rear full width pocket is suitable for folded documents and letters - A4 size paper and folders will fit, but they cover the velcro tab meaning you cannot shut the pocket. Luckily, the inner full-width pocket easily fits A4 sized paper and folders.I found it much easier to put the charger and plug in the front pocketif the laptop goes in last. The tags on the bag say that it accommodates up to 16" laptop - a Toshiba Satellite 15.6" laptop fits in perfectly. It's a nicely thought out design (I like the 'hidden' pockets at the front) and seems good quality, although I think it's a bit overpriced. This was a gift and the recipient wanted black, but I think the grey version looks nicer.

This is a lightweight but smart looking and practical laptop bag for transporting your laptop and a few documents. It is not a replacement for a briefcase but provides a measure of protection when transporting your Laptop. It is finished in thick black nylon and is lightly padded and will provide protection from the elements and minor knocks. It has a grey nylon interior with a divider along with a Velcro closed and zip pocket on the outside for documents or accessories. The bag is well finished with some leatherette zip trims and handles which enhances the look of the bag. The main pocket accommodates my Lenovo 14" laptop and also tried it with my son's Dell 15" laptop which also fitted easily. The closes with a double zip at the top and comes with a padded shoulder strap so you can carry it and have both hands free. This is a simple but sturdy laptop bag ideal for when you are travelling light. At the current price of £13 I think it provides good value for money but if you need to carry more that the bear minimum you may require a larger bag.

This is a relatively lightweight bag which seems well made and comes with decent handles and what looks like a good quality zip. To my mind, it is really just for carrying my laptop around and is not substantial enough to give it much protection should I drop it or something be dropped on it, which is why I'm only giving it four stars. However, it's not particularly expensive and its lightness means if you're on the go all day, it's going to be less tiring to carry than something with more padding. If you care about such things, it also looks smart and 'professional'.There are a few extra compartments to hold any accessories and all are easily accessible.Overall,I'm pleased with it and if I hadn't been given it free of charge to review by Amazon Vine, I would have been happy if I'd bought one

It's not been named 'CitySmart' for nothing - this is a really cool, stylish laptop bag that can be carried by hand - like a briefcase - or on a shoulder strap if that is your preferred method. The grey fabric is very attractive and the sides and carrying handle are made from a darker faux leather. It's very snug - my HP 15.6 inch model only just slots in - providing a very tight fit - but that's no bad thing and means the bag retains its sharp lines. There are also a couple of zipped compartments for accessories. To be fair, if you bash your laptop around or require a bag for heavy use, this material - although reinforced - isn't going to save it. But for those of us who only want to carry the laptop into work occasionally,it's just the job.

I rather like this neat little unfussy laptop bag.It has plenty of room inside for my (14”) laptop, plus its charger and mouse. I can also slide some papers into the separate inside section. In addition, the outside of the bag has a large velcroed pocket on one side, and two zippered pockets on the other (one large and one small).I think the design is elegant and well thought through, I like the mid-grey colour and slightly stripy effect, and it looks as if it would be pretty water resistant (in terms of being out and about in the rain). For me, it is just perfect as a lightweight bag on those days when I am just going to slip from car/taxi to office with a few papers, and don’t want the extra weight of my larger and more robust carrying bag.

I actually quite like this laptop bag.As a bag it is cheap, fun and stylish. It's quite understated and wouldn't look out of place on the arm of the smart person about town. Beyond looks though it's a great bag. It fit my Asus 15.6 laptop perfectly. There are two pockets on the front, a larger one I keep the power lead in and a smaller one I keep a small mouse in.That's it. If you need to carry files/extra's then this isn't really the bag for you.I've docked a star because whilst it looks good etc and it really offer very little protection. I'm fairly certain the corners could be reinforced better or the protection enhanced. But then you'd probably be looking at a larger cost.Horses for courses but never the less a good bag.

Initial review as I only received this today, but I've used it for taking my laptop on 2 client visits all ready and it did the job. It's not going to impress anyone but equally it's less likely to attract thieves I think as it's very plain and made to a price. The label suggests it's for laptops up to 16" but in reality some 15.6" models may struggle. My Toshiba s50 could be pushed in but it's really too small, but my 13.3" hp envy 13 which I use with a slip case fits really nicely and snugly with little room to move - perfect for me and the slip case protects the laptop as the bag doesn't have much if any padding.

This is a good looking, neat, lightweight, well made laptop case - typically Targus, I'd say, a company that's been around a while and can be trusted. It's a good value rather than a premium case but this shows really only in the handle material which is a black vinyl plastic. This helps with lightness however, and doesn't reduce the comfort at all and the laptop is well padded with foam lining. To get a heavier weight case would surely cost a fair bit more. You wouldn't be disappointed with this case considering the low price. The case fits my HPG6 laptop (15" screen) to perfection.

A nice, smart laptop bag. It looks and feels like good quality. The choice of handle – hand or – shoulder is extremely useful. There are two front pockets, one smaller than the other, both zip fastening. The rear has a Velcro fastening open pocket, and inside a side pocket for documents. The main compartment has two zip pulls for convenience, and both feel nice and sturdy. The whole bag feels quite robust, offering protection for little knocks and bumps. I wouldn't expect it to offer massive protection if dropped, but how many cases would?Overall, a great case.
