A typical Tamiya kit, with excellent fit and finish of all parts and plenty of detail, plus a gloriously clear, thin canopy. This model was loads of fun to build and has turned out to be one of the highlights of my "squadron".There are numerous aftermarket upgrade sets available for this kit but (as another reviewer mentioned) they aren't really needed. With care and attention, this will build into a cracking model straight from the box. If you were tempted to add a little something, the Eduard Zoom cockpit set really does add another dimension to the "office" but other than that, I really do think that aftermarket sets will be wasted on this little beauty.A pleasure to build and paint and highly recommended,

Perfect model kit, one you can revisit for different markings over and over again.Also even without after market parts it has everything included for a fantastic P-51And there is even a pilot figure included, something very unusual in other kits!

lovely kit,the fit is fab,great if you just want an easy build so you can get to the painting and weathering stage quickly,ive bought a few of these older tamiya kits recently and you cant go wrong with them

Haven’t built yet but looks to be the usual high quality Tamiya product. 3 alternative sets of decals and paint schemes, 2 of which for Squadrons that were based locally to where I live.

I made this model before but I am making it again with a model Merlin engine and wing guns with magazine boxes and bullet belts I bought I'll do some photos when it's completed.

A great kit. Tamiya kits are full of detail, there are lots of after market detailing available if you want them, but they are not realy needed

Excellent it from Tamiya, easy to build though somewhat simplified in places. Still probably the easiest 1/48 Mustang kit to make and paint

Great little kit, not many parts but what there are has good detail. Fit is excellent. Reccomended.

Model that require painting and assembly. Up to Tamiya’s typical triple A plus standard as usual.
