If you are looking for an enthusiast level PC simulation of the P-51 this is it. Other products like addons for FSX do not model the combat capabilities of this aircraft, DCS does. You need to understand that this is not an arcade flight game, this is a sim. You will need to read a manual and complete tutorial missions in order to develop a basic understanding of the aircraft - and then you will need many many hours of practice to really begin to master it. There should be a description explaining that the DCS P-51D is a paid module that installs into "DCS World" which is free and comes with a flyable Russian ground attack jet the Su-25 Frogfoot. DCS World can be downloaded, for FREE, from [...]. So even if one did not buy any DCS modules he or she can still download DCS World to fly and blow AI land, sea and air vehicles with an Su-25 for free. With that out of the way, the module itself is absolutely fantastic. I love flying and have bought just about every flight simulator out there, but without a doubt, DCS P-51D from Eagle Dynamics gives the player the best feeling of flight period. This is not only the most detailed and complete P-51 study sim on the planet it also has the best online sim community. The community support for all the DCS modules is amazing and I have received tons of help in learning the finer details of flying this aircraft. The DCS forums have repaints and missions to download and the mission editor is full of features if you want to tackle making your own missions. Once you think you can fly go online and prepare to get shot down and start learning all over again.Flying this P-51 isn't too bad if you have flown other sims. Takeoff and landing is a bit tricky tricky and the combat is very hard against AI and online players.
