If you love music and make the occasional phone call, these are a joy. If you make regular calls and want the best of both worlds, the quality of phone calls are going to disappoint the person at the other end of the line.Things I likeExcellent sound quality: They have a clear, powerful sound with deep, controlled bass that impresses but does not overwhelm the rest of the sound. Mid-range and treble are delivered cleanly and clearly, and these headphones are an absolute pleasure to use for extended periods of time. There’s a graphic equaliser included in the app, if you don’t like the sound, but I’ve left mine flat and the headphones sound just great.Comfort: The ear pads are a soft pleasingly tactile and comfortable faux leather, and are very comfortable, even with glasses. Sound sealing is excellent, and only after extended wear I did I find I was a little sweaty around my ears. The headphone earpieces rotate freely around 45 degrees end to end, which is plenty to allow them to sit comfortably on my head. The headband is nicely padded and very flexible, and the extension is generous and has a pleasing ratchet-like action.Convenience: They come with a good-quality soft storage pouch, which offers reasonable protection and they fit nicely into, without having to stuff them in. There’s a short charge cable (about 20cm) which is USB to USB-C, and a 120cm (4’) 3.5mm plug headphone cable if you want to go corded.Controls are two buttons, a mode button and a power button, as well as a touch-pad. The mode button is more pronounced than the power button, so they are easy to tell apart. The mode button changes mode with each press, cycling through the three modes. At power-on, the headphones are in “Noise cancelling”. Press the mode button, and you’ll be put into “Ambient sound” mode. Press it again, and you’ll turn “Ambient sound control off”.The touch pad allows you to swipe to previous/next track, turn the volume up/down, pause the music as well as other functions. It works well, and it's rare I change track instead of adjusting the volume. The headphones fold sensibly small via two offset hinges. Bluetooth connection is quick and reliable. You get the familiar polite Sony “Power on”, followed by an almost instantaneous “Bluetooth connected”. Connection is solid and comfortably meets the 10m Bluetooth standard.Noise-cancellation: The default mode on power-on, on these headphones the noise cancellation is excellent, and is quite surreal in its ability to both completely silence air-conditioning noise, and substantially mute other background noises. Everyone I have let “have a go” has been impressed by this feature, even people with their own noise-cancelling headphones. If another mode has been used, one or two presses of the mode button will be needed to hear the polite “Noise cancelling” message, and for the world to fall quiet again.Ambient sound: Activated by the mode button and reported as “Ambient sound”, this is a clever feature that allows the headphones to pass through ambient sound around you, as though you’re not wearing headphones. This function can be tweaked via the App to focus on voices, which means you can listen to music and hear people around you too. Obviously if you’ve got loud music playing, you can’t hear them any better than you can someone speaking to you normally in a nightclub, but with some quiet background music on, you can hear people surprisingly well.Battery life: Battery life is very good, with a claimed 35-hour life that seems vindicated in use. I spent a couple of days using them for several hours each day, and the battery life was still at 70%, so I’m confident the battery life will be as claimed. Battery life is indicated by the app or is announced after a short press of the power button: “Battery, about 70%”.Customisation: A Sony app is available (I used the Android version) and it gives a good control over the headphones, as well as informing you of the battery status.LDAC: LDAC allows the streaming of high-resolution audio over Bluetooth connections at up to 990 kbps at 24 bit/96 kHz. You’ll need a device with Android “Oreo” or later for this, but if you have an LDAC device, it does sound very good in use with these headphones.Things I don’t like. They’re not good for making phone calls. They do the job well in quiet places, but they pick up way too much ambient sound if there’s any background noise, or someone talking. If I hadn’t got a good Bluetooth head-set I use for making calls, this might be a deal-breaker for me. However, I suspect it’s something that can be fixed with a software update, so hopefully Sony will sort that out.The "Adaptive Sound Control" changes mode, depending on what it thinks you're doing. It follows you about and changes mode from ambient to sound-cancelling. It's all well and good, but it changes mode as and when it wants and mutes the music while it beeps to tell you it's doing something clever. A bit like a small child poking you to say "Look Daddy!". Once I'd worked out what the random beeps and mode changes were, I deactivated it via the app.In conclusion.I don’t like that the Wh-H910 are not good for making calls, as I make a lot of Bluetooth phone calls, but my goodness I love, love, LOVE these headphones for listening to music. They are a perfect blend of comfort, sound quality and long battery life.

Wow - these are some serious headphones...here's my review!1. Looks - nice sleek looking. Fit well on the head, don't wobble when you move and are light.2. Sound quality - just brill. My hearing isn't great, but I can genuinely hear new things in tracks I've listened to for years.3. Comfort - I managed to wear them all the way from Manchester to London on the train without any discomfort at all, they do get a bit warm on your ears, but that was it!4. Noise Cancelling - absolutely brill. Sat in a normal carriage on the train, watching a film. I couldn't hear anything else. Film finished, turn the headphones off....wow there was a lot of noise. Honestly the noise cancelling is excellent!5.Immersive features - basically this passes background noise through to you. You can enable all environmental sounds, or just voice - useful if you are working at home and one of your children comes up behind you and starts talking (or even worse if your other half turns up and starts talking without clocking that you are wearing headphones) at least you can hear them. Not as good as my nuheara buds, but not bad. You could quite happily use these in an office to either completely isolate yourself, or to listen to music and be available to colleagues.6. Voice quality - if you are using these whilst on a call audio is okay, they definitely don't have the same quality input as a gaming headset, but it is definitely okay7. Connectivity - you can use bluetooth or a 3.5mm cable (one is provided). Initially I was getting relatively frequent dropouts whilst on bluetooth, but after changing some settings in the Sony app it is now dead stable. I've used them with an android phone, a kindle fire and a PC (I did have problems with an oldish laptop as I couldn't get the laptop to find the headset as a headset!!! It would connect as an external device...but that is a problem with the laptop NOT the headset). Settings are managed through an app I have installed on my phone, there are a lot of settings and you have to run through a setup routine...I don't plan on using the 3D audio stuff so I skipped the setup for that.8. Battery life - no idea, I went from Manchester to London and the battery life didn't drop. They are supposed to last for 30+ hours between charges and so far I've done 8 hours and they have loads of juice left. Charging is through USB C - a short cable is provided - Sony say that a 10 minute charge should give you 2.5 hours of playback time, again I haven't needed to test this yet.9. Build quality - they look bomb proof to be fair. Looks of aluminium in the construction I think - there's metal and it's lightweight - it's all covered in a thing layer of coloured plastic/paint so its hard to be certain.10. Anything else - well it comes with a bag to stick it in...Awesome headphones - great quality sound, with really good noise cancelling.

These headphones came well packaged , included a soft carry case , 3.5 jack lead and a type c connecter .Look and feel of productHeadphones build quality very good , they are light , have a nice feel to them , and very comfortable to wear , I wear glasses and headphones fitted me well .Features ,The swipe technology superb , took a little while to get to know how to swipe across and up and down , they make a sound every time you swipe just brilliant ,Noise cancelling is also great superb in the home , they cut out noise from the tv , hoovers washing machine , and outside very good in noisy conditions , but you can still hear the traffic that's round about you which is important .Battery life very good ,have been wearing them for 5 days about 3 hours a day and still have 70% battery life left .Sound quality the best I have ever had in a set of over ear headphones , its even better with the sony headphones connect app , I can change number of setting for headphones within the app . I have paired them with my sony Hi- Res walkman , sound from headphones even better than using from my phone for music.Phone calls come through with no problems , again the swipe on the headphones works well .One of the best features for me is the ability to connect 2 devices at one time , ie I can use my Sony Hi - res walkman along with my phone , so I can still get phone calls while using my walkman , which is a bonus for myself , as I like to use may walkman most of the time . I used the 3.5 mm cable to headphones jack , worked fine , hand to have if the battery run out.Set Up and buildSet up , no problems with set up on any devices that i have got , they are very quick to pair to the device they were connected to , the only issue i have found when connected to my android Sony bravia tv the connect ok but to disconnect iIhave to unpair them , then when I reconnect to tv I have to reconnect them .The build of these headphones are very good they feel quality to the touch .Usability Very easy to use , the touch gestures are brilliant , connection to any of my devices excellent , have never lost connection when in range , very comfortable to wear even after a few hours the still felt good to wear , the app is also a great asset to these headphones, ie changing the setting .Overall These are the best headphonesI have ever had , features are excellent worthy of a 5 star rating .Well done to the designers of theses headphones.Minus side I can"t fault these headphones , the only down sides , it could have come with a hard shell case , and the charging cable could have been a bit longer , but this does not bother me .photos [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I was really surprised by the quality coming out of these headphones when hooked up over bluetooth. It seems we are past the era where bluetooth meant compromise. After hooking up to my phone and linking the headset to the Sony headphone app (to manage the noise cancelling, EQ, software updates and various other bits), I went through a series of use cases and particularly musical styles to test the capabilities. Since then I have been using these as my "daily driver" for listening around the house, walking the dog, and out and about shopping. My observations:Design-Very minimal, I have the black version. A clean, sharp, rounded silhouette in a smooth matte finish, with some subtle geometric patterning on the ear pads.Really nice looking, easy to pack away, and lightweight too.Sound-Capable of ably handling anything you can throw at it. Tested on a selection of top 40 tracks, and albums including This Is Hardcore by Pulp. Homework by Daft Punk, MAGDALENE by fka twigs, and a selection of classical (from Chopin piano works to Beethoven symphonies) It blasts through chart music, letting basslines, beats and synths bite and vocals really stand out. It handles the dynamics and detail of orchestral music, chugs through dance music and brings real life to classic rock recordings. The sound is very balanced by default so the bass doesn't smack you in the face - it is more about openness and giving you a good amount of detail across the spectrum. In fact the sound in these seems comparable to my AKG K702 monitors for its balance and detail.Call quality is decent but not really what these are primarily for. As good as you would hope.Noise cancellingVery effective. Adapts based on what it thinks your current activity is (increasing or decreasing the effect accordingly) and does a good job of that. A very handy capability to tap and hold on the side of the headphone to temporarily pause music and disable the noise cancelling so you can have a quick conversation or listen to something.BatterySeemingly endless. Amazing, really.ControlsIntuitive swipe and tap controls on the side of the headphones. This works really well and saves unlocking your phone/device to skip through tracks or play/pause. Google Assistant integration is also good but I could do without a synthetic voice announcing every time I get a WhatsApp message.OverallA great package. Really fantastic set of headphones.

Well, I've used these headphones for many days now in order to give them a proper test, and I'm in awe of just how good they are.Un-boxing itself is a great experience. They are very nicely packaged and you are presented beautiful, sleek item that just oozes quality. The feel of them is just great, from the high quality plastic to the beautifully soft ear cushions. In terms of comfort, they are the best I've used. It must be something to do with my ears, but I've always suffered with discomfort when using over-the-ear phones in the past. Not so with these. I can only imagine it is the wonderfully soft cushioning and their very light weight, but I've worn them for the best part of an evening without any discomfort.A first for me.Pairing with Bluetooth is simple and very effective. I've had no issues with dropout. I probably don't have the best hearing in the world, but I've experimented with swapping between Bluetooth and the 3.5mm jack and I simply can't detect any difference in quality. Very impressive.Sound quality is fantastic. Rich and incredibly immersive. For both music and speech, the clarity and definition is simply without fault. They really are a joy to use.The noise cancelling works well for me. I spend a lot of time of an evening with my partner in our living room; she's mostly watching TV and I'll be browsing a tablet, listening to music and watching video. The capacity of the 'phones to eliminate the background noise has really surprised me. It's still there if I listen hard, but when focusing on the audio that is being played, I completely lose the distraction of other sounds. And there's even a little feature on the earpiece to reduce audio and turn-off noise cancelling if she does manage to get my attention to say something. I think that's really clever.Integration with Alexa is simple and very effective. Another bonus with this hugely impressive piece of kit.Overall, I'm blown away. By a very long way these are the best 'phones I've ever used. I'd almost go as far as to say they are life enhancing in this world of distractions when you simply want to enjoy your music or listening experience in your own peaceful world.

I'm very pleased with these new headphones from Sony. The sound quality is first class as you would expect from Sony, bass is very well defined but not boomy, the midrange is smooth and there is plenty of subtle treble detail. They are easy to listen to for hours on end without becoming fatuiging and are very comfortable to wear for prolonged periods. They do not make your ears hot and sweaty as many headphones do and the noise cancelling does an excellent job of filtering out the hum and drone of modern life leaving you to enjoy the music.I would recommend downloading the Sony Headphone Connect app. It allows you to choose from preset sound modes or if you wish you can customise the sound to your liking. The app also gives you many other useful options and settings. The battery life is amazing - up to 35 hours depending on usage, a full charge from flat takes about 5 hours, a 10 minute quick charge will give you about 2.5 hours of listening. You can use ambient sound mode if you wish to hear more of your surroundings and if you hold your hand over the right hand cup it will mute the music. This is useful for quick communications with people near to you without having to remove the headphones - a nice touch. The gesture control is also really cool, double tapping the right hand cup in the centre will pause the music, un upwards stroke will increase volume and a downwards stroke will reducevolume, next track and previous track is also available at a stroke, it's all very intuitve.Overall there are no negatives with these phones, the sound is fabulous and they are extremely comfortable. A matching carry pouch is provided and the phones fold up neatly for transporting. To get the most out of them be sure to download the "Sony Headphone Connect app" and also check out the Sony online help guide for more information regarding operation. These Sony headphones feel comfortable going over my head and transform me into the music so I can avoid any distractions as all I hear is the great sound of my favorite songs in all their glory including the bass.Download the app in order to control the bass, or alter vocal frequencies for podcasts or adjust the noise cancellation settings. The noise cancellation is bliss in an open plan office where you do not want to hear the ambient sound of other phone conversations or people joking around with each other just when you are trying to focus on a key problem. The music over Bluetooth is just amazing, and the headphones feel really comfortable.Apparently the use of LDAC 990 kbps technology gives these headphones their great high resolution wireless sound, as long as your smartphone can hit this setting. These headphones have specific left and right ears, with the right ear having the touch controls. The controls are two buttons and a touch-pad. The first button is a mode button which cycles through the three modes when pressed; noise cancelling, ambient sound, or ambient sound control off. The touch pad allows you to; adjust volume, swipe to next track, or pause. I do not have Alexa but this can be controller from your headphones too. You can go corded with cords provided, but why would you with sound this good! The battery life is really good at more than 30 hours between charges. You can check the battery by going on the app, and it is also announced after a short press of the power button.Great headphones apart from the £250 price tag which may put many people off especially when you can buy a decent PowerLocus set of ANC Bluetooth headphones for £40.

Initial reaction on unboxing the Sony WH-H910N headphones was that they are solid and well made and I was soon to be impressed with the hidden features.Pairing the headphones was simple and I soon had them paired to my Android phone and PC. However I was unable to pair them to my Echo plus smart speaker which surprised me as I have paired Sony headphones to it in the past. The fit is very comfortably and I was soon enjoying my music and using the inbuilt features which allow you to change the volume by running your finger up or down the outer casing of the right headphone, and changing tracks by running your finger from left to right, you can also pause the track.Sound quality is as to be expected from a Sony headphone, excellent top and middle ranges however I did find the bass a bit muddy on certain tracks.Noise cancelling not only just works but is very impressive in the way it works. These headphones also incorporate Alexa and Google assistant which is quite easy to set up.Other features I liked are the 35 hour playback time, this can be increased to 45 hours by turning off noise calcelling, you can get 2.5 hours playback with just a 10 minute charge, and the hands free calling facility. When you are not using the headphones they fold away very neatly.Overall a great new headphone from Sony with some really nice features. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

The only reason that I gave these 4 instead of 5 stars is because of the finish in comparison with other headphones made by Sony like the whm1000XM2 and the soft bag for transportation instead of hard sided case.. This apart the performance of the product is truly wonderful. Again the full benefit can be only realised if the recommended app is downloaded. The noise cancelling feature is very effective and justifies the price alone.. The new music apps which are now available truly are the future of listening to music via headphones and will undoubtedly become more popular as price drops for the service continue I still prefer to upload my own albums and listen to them..Google Assistant or Alexa work seamlessly as does the bluetooth as you would expect. My own music .played back gives a very full range as well as excellent volume without intrusive distortion - this is the case whether listening to ABBA or ZZ Top and everything in between both modern and classical. I congratulate Sony on providing and excellent value for money headphones and I would be most appreciative if given them as a gift and would happily replace what I have with them should failure occur. Good quality feel and comfortable, the charge lasts a very long time. Very good sound quality and bass/treble. The app allows you to choose sound modes, adjust sound to preference, and scans the shape of your ear to deliver best quality for your ear shape. Noise cancelling is amazing and the swipe-controls on the ear work a treat after a couple days (think they learn how your hand moves as wasnt perfect to begin with, now absolutely fine).

23.4.2020

I love these headphones! They are comfortable and the sound quality is crisp and clear. The noise cancellation is perfect and provides complete silence behind whatever you are listening to.Two minor gripes; the battery does not seem to last as long as suggested and I have had a lot of complaints about volume when using the microphone.Apart from that I would recommend these to anyone

14.7.2020

I bought this 3 months ago and have used it most days they give great sound they connect my Bluetooth to my fire stick to my TV with a transmitter, to my hi-fi with a transmitter, to my phone. they are well made and sturdy and I've been very very pleased with them.

29.6.2020

I bought these about a months ago, and as someone who listens to a lot of music of all varieties and a classical musician I needed something with a very balanced and careful sound quality. These play beautifully and the balance is incredible.

11.7.2020

Battery doesn't drain easily even when left connected,Sounds quality is well balanced all ranges. Not very impressed by the bass. it;s a really good value for the money

7.7.2020

I bought these headphones as I am hard of hearing and always have the volume up on TV, radio etc. Now I can listen and not deafen everyone else around me!
