These headphones are very comfortable with really great sound. I recommend to download Sony app and turn on "priority on sound quality" mode. It improves sound dramatically and makes basses much more natural. By default bluetooth audio codec is LDAC, which sounds really great, but I like to go to my phone properties and change "Bluetooth audio codec" to AAC. I prefer this codec over LDAC. AAC also supports DSEE. The only problem, that I need to do this manually every time I reconnect headphones. But it's just my personal audiophilliac preferences. In reality the difference is so tiny, that you can simply stick to LDAC without any hesitation. Once you choose "priority on sound quality" mode, your phone will be in this mode until you decide to change it. Default SBC mode is designed for better connection, but I never experienced any connection problems with LDAC or AAC. You may also use cable instead of Bluetooth (with computer for example or simply at home), but better turn on headphones, because the sound will be better. Both via cable or with LDAC/AAC/aptX Bluetooth codecs these headphones sound almost like studio headphones. They are very good in any genre. They are especially great for electronic music, jazz and, for my big surprise, for classic. But with some especially powerful rock songs solo voice could be slightly obscured. All in all they add colours to any music composition and make listening really enjoyable. No more "flat" music! Noise cancelling is good enough. But it designed to listen to the music. It cannot put you in total silence on it's own. "Ambient sound control" (switched with button when pressed first time) is underestimated mode. It's very good when you are walking on the street. It seems like you don't have headphones, but listening to the music in your head. It's more safe as you can hear cars. And you don't hear your steps. "Ambient sound control off" (when you press button second time) is turning off microphone, so you only have passive isolation. You will need this mode when it is windy. Some people are complaining, that these headphones are sensitive to the wind. So, just put them into "Ambient sound control off" mode - and there is no wind anymore. Battery is great and mine is charging quite fast, especially if it's about 50%.Headphones are comfortable and light. I would prefer slightly wider bow, but it's not a big deal. While folded, they are very compact. I am using my old plastic box from another headphones, which are actually smaller, than Sony (see photo). There are plenty of boxes online. All in all I am very happy. They just need a bit time to adjust. Once it's done, they are perfect.

The headphones themeselves are very good, they work well, the noice cancelling is effective but not annoying and they're comfortable, that said there's two "details" that do make them a bit impractical:CHARGINGThe charging cable is shockingly short, around 15cm, and there's no plug, so chargin the headphones is a real pain. If I leave them attached to the computer at night they won't charge because the computer isn't open (while being on - I used to charge my phone this way and never had issues). I can't charge them any other way because I don't if using my iPad's plug would be okay + the cable is so short that the only way to charge them with a plug would be to keep them on the floor, which is not exactly great.Considering that the charging time is fairly long (7 hours), it basically means that I can never charge them fully. Considering the price I really don't understand the choice to not include a normal lengh charging cable + plug.IT CAN CONNECT TO ONE DEVICE AT A TIMEWhile this is not a huge issue, it is still a little annoying considering that Bose's headphones (that my partner has) have been able to connect to two devices at once for quite a few years. I would imagine that such a feature would be useful for most people, as anyone I know uses their headphones with at least two devices.Again switching device isn't terribly time consuming (first switch off the headphones, then switch them back on and keep the on button pushed to start pairing mode), but whenever I'm watching something and I receive a call it's a bit of a pain having to do this whole thing just to be able to take the call using the headphones.I am overall happy with them and love the touch feature, I just feel that it would have taken very little effort to improve the charging and pairing experience)

I have been using these headphones for a week now and I have been very impressed, when they arrived I was impressed by then sleek packaging and complimentary carry bag for protection. Set up was a breeze as they were already fully charged, I downloaded the App as recommended on my Xperia XZ2 and Apple iPod Touch and I set it up without any issues. My only complaint is when it came to setting it up on my iPad there was no headphones app for it so I had to manually connect it. When I played my first song on them I was very impressed with the clearness and depth of the sound. I then messed around in the settings to get them just how I like with the Bass Boost on. I can not fault the sound at all.Another thing I have been impressed by is the battery life, I have charged these only once in the week I’ve had them and even then they were still on 70% I think I could go weeks without charging them which is nice to know especially for long trips. I also like how it charges with USB C so I can charge it with the same cable as my phone. The build of the headphones seems very solid they feel quality and I have confidence that they will last me a long while. It would be nice if when connected to Apple devices it could use Siri however I have used it with google assistant and I have found it very useful with a simple tap to hear my notifications and a hold to ask it a question. Overall I really enjoy these headphones and I imagine I’ll be using them for many years to come. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I've been wearing these now for 6 months but I'm still getting that feeling of surprise every time I try a new song that uses a unique bass-line. I think the main strength of these headphones is the heavy bass giving the impression of a pair of headphones with a better, richer sound for half the price. So for the price I would definitely recommend them. Things that could be better: well when I was buying them I was also considering the WH-1000XM3 and I'm sure others are too. The 1000XM3 is definitely better for overall sound hands down which is what I was originally going to buy but after hearing these I could see a lot of value to be saved and I'm glad I did.The heavy bass hits really well and I've had a lot of sony stuff in the past and so the quality is similar - very good. I do think that these headphones suffer in the noise cancelling area and this is something common to sony headphones compared to say the Bose 700 which are truly better for noise cancelling. But the bass is so punchy and fun on this pair that it in the end it depends on whether you need a lot of noise cancelling for say commuting or you what a better sound with adequate noise cancelling.I do wish Sony included another pair of pads in the box - I don't feel these will last the long period of time I indeed to keep it for. Also, the website to register them is a bit buggy so be sure to check up on the gaurentee duration - didn't work exactly as it should for me.

After having the headphones for two weeks I have found them to have a wonderful depth of sound to include fantastic clarity/bass and great features. I have found they are very comfortable on the ear, even after several hours use they haven't made my ears sore like other headphones can do. The sensor controls on the right side of the ear are very easy to use and a great idea. The Bluetooth hasn't disconnected at all when in use so the signal seems to be of very good strength. The headphones are very easy to use and with the easy to follow instructions you can be listening in just a few minutes once out of the box.The battery life of the headphones is also excellent and I have got around 30 hours (as advertised)from a single charge. If you do run out of battery there is also the option to plug them in but when using the headphones wirelessly you realise how much of an advantage it is to be wireless with a set of headphones. The phone app which accompanies the headphones is a great feature as it gives a lot of advanced options such as a graphic equaliser to give even more sound features.Another great feature is how easy the headphones fold together so they can easily be packed for travel. The quality of build is also very good and typical of Sony to make a quality product that feels like it will last for years. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I was looking for headphones that I could use in different settings; when I travel, play computer games, for music, videos etc. without spending too much money and I am very happy with my WH-XB900N headphones. I am able to take phone calls and listen to music when I'm cooking and need to walk around the house to get ingredients. Sound quality, connectivity and microphone are better than expected. The touch controls are a lot of fun, too. These are my first over-ear headphones and I am pleasantly surprised with my experience. The battery life is more than enough as I am not a heavy user. I do utilise the cable since my laptop cannot handle group phone calls, games over wifi and bluetooth connectivity simultaneously.I was told my voice sounds clear and I can hear my friends clearly as well. I was worried about comfort since I have a narrow head. In certain positions I do feel a little pressure on my jaw bone, but with some readjustment that problem can be easily solved. One of my favourite features is ambient mode which feeds my own and my friends' voices back into the headphones while I'm on the phone or listening to music. I don't need to take them off to hear when someone wants to talk to me.In summary, I am very happy with my purchase and I would happily recommend it to a friend. I did have to buy a separate case, however.

Very comfortable and noise cancelling works very well. The sound out the box is not great, the bass is pushed way to much. Instead of being able to simply provide the deeper bass, it artificially boosts it without any way of disabling that feature on the headphones. The only way to setup the sound is to use the playback devices inbuilt equaliser if it has one, and i have had to do this for every device I use them on. Unfortunately not every device has equaliser settings so stuck with oversaturated bass on many devices such as PS Vita, PSP & Nintendo Switch to name a few.If the device you intend on using these with has no equaliser control then you may find the bass enhancement just a bit annoyingespecially for music that should have any where near that much bass in it.Also found the touch sensitive controls on the side no better really then physical buttons as there are no lumps to feel where your finger is touching so can take a few goes to get what you wanted to happen. There is no question about the build quality of these headphones, very comfortable and solid. They are definitely a quality Sony product. But the over the top bass is annoying on devices with no equalisation, and sound great on devices with equaliser settings. Fantastic headphones, very comfortable and sounds great, I expected more bass considering the Ch700n I had before it but it's not bad at all and for the deal I got I'm very satisfied.Update:Here is my full review vs my previous CH700N.Pros:-Much more comfortable.-Type C, no need for a different cable if you already have a smartphone using one.-More detailed and much clearer sound, bass doesn't destroy other frequencies.-Better bass, I said initially I expected more, but really all I needed to do is to raise the volume to feel the rumbling lol.-Noise cancellation is much better but not to the level of the 1000XM3s, it has most of the 1000XM3s features, so if they gave it a same level of noise cancellation,it will destroy its sales.Cons:-Less battery life, I guess because of the bass.-The CH700N is a bit louder, it can really hurt your ear if you crank the volume up.-I like the new touch controls, but they can accidentally execute a wrong order.Overall I'm very happy with mu purchase, and I really recommend the XB900Ns, especially if they go on sale, they are totally worth the money.

Owned these for a month now and I think they are brilliant. I've only charged them once and they still have 30% battery charge left. I don't use them every day but I've used on a few shopping trips and at home. Battery life is good. Noise cancelling can be bettered by others but is good enough for my use. They can provide a huge amount of bass but you can also turn it down completely as the app gives you plenty of different types of customisation. I would suggest you can only appreciate the high end headphones if you can test them with their apps. I love the touch controls for skipping tracks and controlling volume. I would've liked separate smart voice and noise cancelling buttons. To sum up.Brilliant sound. Amazing bass and decent noise cancelling.

I bought these to listen to music on my 30 year old Sony Stacking System, as well as connectivity to iPad and Computer. Set up to iPad was simple one the app is installed. For connection to stereo, I had to resort to You Tube. However, with the purchase of a Bluetooth transmitter plugged directly into the headphone jack, the headphones work perfectly. Particularly like the volume control by tapping on right phone. Comfortable to wear, and the sound quality is exquisite, though I’m sure this is partly due to the fantastic sound from the stacking unit itself. Thank you Sony for keeping me connected!

An overall fantastic sound from theses WH-XB900N Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones that provide not only a smooth bass but also a top performance midrange & high end that complements the bass to give an overall truly exciting sound to the listener no matter what genre of music they are listening to. A very lightweight & comfortable design that not only seals all outside noise to the listener but also outside noise to the listener. And when paired with the likes of DTS Sound Unbound or Dolby Atmos they shine with various enhancing options that prove just how impressive theses headphones are.

I’ve been using these for a month now, the connectivity to my iPhone is almost instant, the app is very useful for changing things such as the bass and noise cancellation to my acquirements. I can tell you that noise cancellation works perfectly, as my parents will shout me for dinner or something similar every day I never hear a thing. All my family have tried these headphones too including my grandparents and they love the sound quality, they said it’s like being in a concert hall. So I would 100% recommend these to anyone, not only do they sound great, they also look great!

Well I bought the 1000xm3 headphones first and I travel alot and when I was on a bus or train or walking any wind at all would play threw the headphones like bass. And when calling it was amplifying the sound around me during a call which made me take then back to the store. I found after buying these the wind is less violent threw the headphones which makes my experience much better. Although one fault with these is in call volume it is terribly quiet even though it says on the box HD calls. Its crisp but very quiet. I reccomend just for music nothing else.

I’ve had these headphones for a few weeks now and really like them. They are comfy plus I use public transport a lot and the London Underground is really noisy and although these headphones can’t obliterate that level of sound they certainly make it background. My only reason for dropping a star is that my pair drops the noise cancelling every now and then and you have to deselect it which is easy but a little annoying but this is only occasionally and they were definitely worth the purchase price. the headphone based controls are really great and easy to use.
