As a fitness enthusiast and gym-goer, I exercise 5-7 times in a week in the gym and outdoors; and music is an important part of my exercise routine. Like most people I dislike wires and have been using Bluetooth sports headset since 2008, with my first one being Motorola S9. Over the last 10 years I have experimented with a few, with my latest being a Sony Bluetooth sports headset (MDR-XB50BS). Most of the ones I’ve used have connections for the two earpieces behind the neck, therefore it can cause issues when doing exercises that require lying down on a bench, such as Bench Presses or getting caught up in kits etc. Enter the Bose Sportsound Free. As a gym-goer who dislikes wires,I was keen to see how well it performs in practice.By being truly wireless, it can have compromises such as battery life, and actual size perhaps a bit bulkier than the ‘non-truly wireless’ ones as it needs to house additional connectors, battery in each earpiece etc. Below is a summary of my experience and I’ve rated this out of 5 for each criteria and I’ve used this mainly with a Samsung Note 8 (Android) and Ipad Mini (iOS). Battery Life and Carry Case (5/5)Fantastic – First of all no wires meant I needed a good case to store the units when not in use; so I don’t lose them. The case is very compact (see pictures next to iPhone 7) I was impressed with the magnetic connectors and which charges the earphones while storing it. It is compact and it has battery indicator. I’ve used it three times since charging for three 45 minutes gym sessions and I still have about 2/3 left (on the case). It looks like I will only need to charge this once a week for 7 days exercising. I always keep it in the case, which recharges the ear phones whist storing them. Without the case, they will last 5 hours (advertised); my workouts is never more than one hour, so I can’t fully confirm this yet. It can be recharged quickly; i.e. 15 minutes will give you 45 minutes which is great for me.Connectivity and Companion App (5/5)Excellent – no issues and it connects to my device as soon as I take it out of the case. The App is excellent too but I’m yet to fully test it but it certainly helps managing connections etc. To pair another device is very easy, by just pressing the button on the earpiece. The App provides a useful user manual as well as ability to locate, manage connections etc. Definitely useful but for me, a gripe with my previous headsets is the constant fiddling with Bluetooth on my phone to connect; this one is just about taking it out of the case, connect and go. The Bluetooth signal is strong and reliable with a good range. So on that basis, I’m impressed!Comfort and Ergonomics (5/5)Initially I felt it was a bit bulkier than the equivalent ‘non-truly wireless’ Bose Sportsound Bluetooth (which my brother owns), it was light and fitted nicely. You will get three ear tips (S/M/L) with M as default. I’ve tried all three and settled for Medium. At first I didn’t feel it was securely in place and felt loose; but it wasn’t. It didn’t fall off doing burpees, pull ups, deadlifts, bench presses or running. It also looks nice and can draw attention and people at the gym will ask questions about it. It’s easy to forget they are there and just get on with the exercises. The physical buttons well positioned and it is intuitive. I found I had to press a bit hard to use but no issues, with pairing, changing volumes etc. Charging Port (3/5)It has micro USB and preference here will really depend on each users’ devices. For me as I have a Samsung Note 8 and Apple devices; I would have preferred USB type C, so one less cable to carry around. I would have preferred a more modern connector such as USB Type C. The cable is also very short, which is okay if I’m charging from a PC but not great from a wall charger. Sound Quality (5/5) The sound is fantastic for a sports earphones; it has a good balance and sound has good depth as well as clarity. Unlike my Sony, the bass is not overpowering. It is the best sports earphones, I’ve used so far and it’s great for gym or exercising e.g. running outdoors it is safer as it doesn’t cancel noise out completely. It will block external sound to some degree, such as gym music and general background noise but it will struggle in extremely loud environments. I am not sure this will work well on the plane. I have seen online reviews highlighting about video syncing issues; I tried this with youtube and Netflix and didn’t experience any lag or video/audio syncing issues . Build Quality and Durability (5/5)It feels solidly built and both the case and the earphones feels good quality. Doesn’t feel flimsy and looks like they are built to last – time will tell. Being water resistant is important for sport earphones. Call Quality (too early to tell)I got a call and a voice over will tell me who’s calling. I answered the phone call without any issues and it worked well. I cannot provide a rating yet as I have used it just once. Verdict (5/5)The Bose Sportsound Free do not come cheap and the finest things in life do come at a price. The sound is exceptionally good and it does everything right such as seamless reliable connectivity, build quality, sound quality and battery life. It is designed for gym-goers & fitness enthusiasts and from that perspective, it does everything really well. It will not fall out, no matter the exercise routine and is comfortable to wear. It will not completely block sounds completely which makes it safer for runners or cyclists. It struggles in extremely loud environment and I wouldn’t recommend this for commuting or the plane. I highly recommend this IF intend to use this mainly for exercising so I don’t think it would be right to compare with other offerings such as noise cancelling headphones. It has been designed for sporting activities and for that purpose, it is the best I have used yet.

The Bose SoundSport Free wireless are, in my opinion, one of the BEST completely wireless headphones that you can pick up right now! Overall, it is obvious that Bose have not digressed from their quality in build, sound and performance. Build and Appearance:Build-wise, the SoundSport Free Wireless are very trustworthy and durable, never feeling worn or fragile no matter how many times they are handled, moved or fiddled around with. The grippy texture around the buttons on the headphones allows for better handling and functionality, allowing you to control your music/calls at any given point. Along with this, although the headphones are slightly on the heavier side,I wouldn't deem this as a negative due to the fact of how rigid they are and obviously being a quality product. My one gripe with this product is the size. Although the weight doesn't irritate me, the bulkiness of the product can sometimes make you look like you're trying to communicate with UFOs. I used these whilst walking and jogging with my dog, whilst driving and also during work (I work with cars so it's nice to have wireless headphones to listen to music while working around intricate parts). I must say, the headphones havent fallen out of my ears once - even after shaking my head reasonably vigorously for 5 seconds just to see if I could potentially have them fly out, but Bose 1 - 0 Me. The size didn't ever get in the way of me doing anything specific, but it is mainly just for appearance that the size can get overwhelming. Ease of Use and Comfort:Setting up the headphones took me near enough 2 minutes after taking them out of the box - a very simple and effortless process. The charging case that the headphones come in is intuitive as well, providing information on the case battery as well as individual headphone battery life. As someone who uses tech on a day to day basis, I figured all of the features out comfortably within 10 minutes of use - even for first time wireless headphones users, this product would be a breeze to get used to. Although some may dislike the size of the charging case, I took into consideration how much extra battery life it provides the headphones with, how secure it keeps the headphones and also, going back to durability, how rigid the product is as a whole. You could easily keep the case in your pocket and it doesn't feel uncomfortable to move around with, however most of the time my case was kept in my jacket at all times - sometimes when I wasn't using the headphones, I would forget they were even there. The comfortability of the headphones themselves is a bit hit or miss. On some days, I could wear the headphones for 3 or 4 hours with no issues, but on other days depending on the acitivities I was doing, they could get quite annoying where I'd take them out for 15 to 20 minutes before using them again. I don't think this is a major flaw as using headphones for prolonged periods of time will never be the most comfortable experience. One thing I did notice however, is the Bose design for the "in-ear" part of the headphone was extremely comfortable as it doesn't feel like its being shoved down your ear like a scene out of Saw, unlike a lot of other brands headphones. The discomfort for me mainly came from the wing tip, however I didn't try the other sizes as for a majority of the time, the medium size was fine to use. Sound Quality:On to my favourite, and the most relevant, section of these headphones. I am EXTREMELY impressed with what Bose have managed to fit in such a small (relatively) footprint. I could not fault the sound at all, even after intentionally playing songs with dramatic drops and variable frequencies. The SoundSport Free Wireless headphones, in my opinion, are the BEST for any bass loving listener, even after taking into account that you wont feel a thump in your ear like you would with overhear headphones, I personally believe you will not find better range in another pair of truly wireless headphones. Generally, I listen to a lot of Hip-Hop, R&B and Bhangra, so the range of sounds that these headphones produce has been tested thoroughly. Although these aren't noise cancelling, you can definitely find the right volume for yourself to drown out the rest of world - sometimes I like hearing ambient noise whilst driving or working so these headphones work as an amazing all-rounder. When listening with both headphones, the experience is truly immersive, almost surround-sound like. I say with both, because you can also listen with only one headphone (I recommend the right headphone as this is where the calls come through - also the volume and play/pause/answer/hang up buttons are on the right headphone). Even with just one headphone, the sound doesn't feel washed or neglected. All in all, this product would recieve 5 stars if they were smaller in size with the same audio quality, but I understand that we would potentially lose out on the bass and range of frequency with a smaller headphone. I am constantly happy to use these headphones and I believe Bose have (almost) perfected the truly wireless headphone. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I love these for use in the gym. They 100% stay in, without any risk of falling out. When exercising, MUCH more convenient than over-ear headphones like QC 35, and surprisingly also MUCH more convenient than bluetooth earphones that have a wire between them (I went through several such pairs over the years, and it's great having NO wire flapping around).PROs:1. OK battery life. 2-5 hours.2. Comfortable. The battery tends to run out before my ears get uncomfortable. Personal preference: I definitely find these rubber Bose-style earphones more comfortable than the hard-plastic Apple-style earphones.3. They stay in, even when running, handstands, jumping around, etc.4. They charge fast.5. Once set up,they always pair automatically super quickly. (Just as my other Bose headset does.)6. Good music sound, for their size.NEGATIVE POINTS:1. The CARRY CASE is large -- much larger than the Airpods case.2. WIND NOISE: Cycling, don't even bother: wind will be louder than your music. Running outdoors, it's borderline. Generally the wind is so loud, I prefer to run with my over-ear QC 35ii, even if that means my ears get sweaty.3. Occasionally, the left ear will DISCONNECT... and the only way to reconnect is to place them in the carry case, and then put them back on. Therefore, if you go for a long run without the case, and this disconnect happens, it's quite frustrating. Furthermore, if you pause music, the pair of (both) earphones will disconnect after a few minutes. So again, if you're out without your carry/charge case, and you pop into a shop or run into a friend, you might want to keep music playing even when you take out your earphones, just so that they stay connected to your phone. (Otherwise, when you put the earphones back into your ear after say 10 minutes, it seems there's no way to re-connect with your phone without the case.)4. During calls [LISTENING], you only hear audio through the right ear. (They say this is to minimise the lag, though one must ask why AirPod engineers arrived at a different experience.)5. During calls [SPEAKING], the other side does not seem to hear me very well... You CAN use these for phonecalls, but I try to avoid using these for phone-calls. Instead, I use the phone directly, or my other Bose (QC 35ii) headset instead, where the other party seems to always hear me much better. I would NOT recommend buying these as a primary headset for calls.6. [Minor point] Sometimes after they've been charging for ages (hours / days in case), I put them in my ears, and the audio prompt says "80% charged", instead of "100% charged". I'm not sure if they're actually not fully charged, or if the audio prompt is wrong. No biggie. 7. [Minor point] The main button on the right ear is a little tough to press: you need to grab the earphone between thumb and forefinger, and press hard. One touch to play/pause; double-click to skip forward; triple-click to jump to previous trap. I'd forget to mention this minor point now, but at first I remember thinking it takes surprising effort to grab the earphone and click that button (without accidentally pulling the earphone out of your ear). Give it a few days and you'll not even think of this as a negative. Overall:Designed for exercise.Perfect for a few hours' use per day, such as daily gym or outdoor running, though beware of wind noise when outdoors: these "stick out" more than other earphones like AirPods or wired earphones. It's always a bit of a gamble going out for more than 2 hours without the carry case (in case they die or disconnect), and the carry case is chunky enough. Not good for calls.

AUDIO QUALITYLike any other Bose product I've used, the SoundSport Free earbuds produce excellent sound at high, medium, and low volumes. Almost any headphones can sound good a medium and high volumes, but Bose sound terrific at low volumes, too. This is helpful when listening while working and enjoying some music.PERFORMANCEListening to music is wonderful. All types of music sound great. Watching movies through a streaming service, the video and audio are matched well and the experience is great. Unfortunately, I could never get the YouTube apps to sync audio and video either on the phone or iPad. Very disappointing but not sure if it's the fault of Bose or YouTube. The buds charge when they are placed in their storage case. You charge the case with a standard Micro USB cable (provided) from either your computer or charger (which is not included). I haven't measured the re-charging time requirement, but it seems quick enough for me. And each case charge can recharge the buds several times.CONNECTIVITYConnecting the SoundSport Free earbuds to my devices turned out more challenging than it should have. The first connection to my phone could not have been easier. Open the Bose Connect app, take the buds out of their case, the app recognizes them, swipe down to connect, and you're done. And they would instantly reconnect when I took them out of their case. Later, I tried to connect the earbuds to my iPad. Frustration ensued. The Bose app repeatedly instructed me to take the buds out of the case to connect. I followed the instructions several times with no success. So here's the secret: Press the button on the left earbud. Why is that not in the instructions? Now, you'll be able to use that left button to switch connections between your devices (in my case, my phone and iPad). It's a convenient feature once you know it exists. Another tip for finding lost earbuds: In the app, the Find My Buds feature is located in the app's settings menu (the three-lined icon at the upper left) and NOT in the SoundSport Free settings (the gear icon that appears once the buds are connected to a device).FIT & COMFORTThe fit is excellent, especially for exercise. You can do jumping jacks, go running, and probably operate a jackhammer, and the SoundSport Free earbuds are going to stay put. The StayHear earhooks are the key to that stability, and they are extremely comfortable. The product comes with large, medium, and small earhooks. Short-term comfort is great. Listening for greater than about an hour, and you'll be adjusting them a bit to relieve minor discomfort. And it really is only minor, I never developed sore ears. The best advice is to insert the buds in your ears, then snug them to the rear of your ear opening to relieve any pressure at the canal opening. And to Bose's credit, this tip is right in their app.BUILD QUALITYThe SoundSport Free earbuds are solid, easily living up to the Bose reputation. The materials are high quality plastic and silicone on the outside. They are rugged and seem built to last. Each bud is surprisingly lightweight. The case is also solid and rugged. It holds and charges the buds magnetically.CONCLUSIONI can easily recommend the Bose SoundSport Free earbuds for their sound quality and for staying put while exercising. I strongly suspect a software/firmware update will address the video sync issue in some apps as well as the misguided instructions when connecting the buds to a second device. These earbuds sounds excellent and are very rugged which should make them a great investment for active audio lover.

OK, so this is a VERY early review, so this is based on first impressions. I have had these for about five hours now, just for the sake of perspective. To begin, I consider myself to be an audiophile. I have a variety of wired and wireless headphones so I have quite a number of devices for comparison purposes. These include a set of Sony MDR-V6s (disintegrating ear cushions and still AMAZING), Sony MDR-1000X, Samsung Gear IconX 2017s, Samsung Gear IconX 2018s, Jaybird X2s, Apple EarPods, Apple AirPods, and Samsung AKGs, plus a number of others. I like my audio, and the sets that I have range from disappointing to strong performers when it comes to audio quality. These Soundsport Frees have really surprised me when it comes to the soundstage they can generate.A really good set of headphones can enable you to tell the quality of the recording that you are using, whereas an average of sub-standard set of headphones will sound similar regardless of the quality of the music file you are playing. Lousy compressed audio file? You won’t be able to tell on a rotten set of headphones. The Soundsport Frees do NOT fall into this category. To put it plainly, I have never had a pair of Bluetooth headphones generate the level of detail these can, including on my MDR-1000Xs. There is clear separation between the instruments, and with a good quality track, they are layered...you can almost discern that THIS guitar is positioned separately and closer than THAT guitar. And don’t even get me started on the bass. CRAZY GOOD BASS for a tiny set of earbuds. Not as punchy as a set of full-size cans, but WAY beyond anything else you can right now in truly wireless earbuds.I have been able to get perhaps 50% of the way to this sound quality with my IconX 2017s with a really good seal/sound isolation, but still lacking the soundstage of the Frees. I am rather shocked that these sound this good with no real ear canal seal. I will have to reserve judgment how these hold up in noisy environments (I suspect they will really suffer). I may update this review in the coming weeks as I get more playtime.Dislikes thus far:1. The BULK. I guess the upside is that they feel similar to my IconXs when worn, meaning that they aren’t obtrusive/heavy, but holy cow do I look like I have mini hockey pucks falling out of my ears when checking a mirror. The low profile of the IconXs are much preferred.2. Charging case is larger than any other option I’ve seen. I suppose this may be for additional battery capacity, but other options seem to offer similar capacity in a smaller form factor. And micro-USB BOSE? REALLY? I suppose you could have used some stupid proprietary charging method like with my Soundlink Mini, so perhaps micro-USB is an acceptable middle-of-the-road option? I still need to carry an extra cable or an adapter, which sucks. The case charges quickly though, and the power level LEDs are excellent.3. Control buttons are finicky and difficult to press. They are similar to the buttons on my Jaybird X2s, which is to say, not great. They work, but you really gotta press ‘em for the click to register. No arguing with the sound quality on these though. They sound amazing, particularly when using an EQ and the Tube Amp Pro option on Google Play Music on my S8+...really warms up that sound signature. Overall, I can overlook the quirks of these headphones based on the sound quality alone. These could be neon pink and green and I would still wear them in public...they sound THAT good.

I am 53 years old and still train up to five times a week, and have done for over 35 years. In that time I have used a lot of different sport headphones to accompany me on my runs, cycles or indoor gym sessions. what has been disappointing is in all that time I have never found a set that fit in my ear and stay there during intense activity. A few year ago I gave up and have not used headphone until I got these Bose headphones. So what was I wanting from the Bose SoundSport. Before I even considered sound quality I wanted a headphone that fits in my ear and stays there no matter what I am doing.Secondly I wanted good sound quality and lastly a product that was robust enough to last me into the future. When I received the headphones I was Impressed with the quality of the charger unit and the feel of the in-ear phones. With three different size attachments S/M/L I took the time to make sure I had the right fitting. Taking time here, I found, paid dividends later. The unique Bose gel ear attachments ensure the phone fits snugly in the ear. A promising start. My aim was to test the ear phones in such a way that any fault in the fitting would be apparent early doors. I took the set on a 5000 metre concept 2 row, 20 minutes on a cross trainer and a session of free weights. Despite sweat and intense activity the earphones stayed in place. They did not budge at all. Not content with these tests I took them for a cross country run in the pouring rain. Again they stayed firmly in place. My last test was a cycle. I am not an advocate or cycling on roads with headphones so took them off road. Firstly they fit ok under my helment strap with some slight adjustment. Secondly they stayed I place all the way. So for Fit and comfort during intense activity the SoundSport are a winner. They proved reliable and steadfast preventing me from having to constantly twiddle with the headphones to keep them in my ear. I have now started using headphones again after my leave of absence. As for sound quality these are Bose products. If you have never listened to any Bose system or worn Bose headphones then all I will say is these are top of the range. The sound quality is superb with a clarity that is outstanding. The bass is not overpowering leaving a balanced sound like velvet in your ear.So finally is this a robust product? The headphones come in their own charging case and fit into engineered compartments, left and right. The case acts as a charger and when the lid is close during the charging process they are fully protected as they charge. The ear phones are held in place by magnets which further secures them. The units feel weighty and on first sight may appear to be bulky, however, when they are in your ear they feel natural. They have a strong construction and the ergonomics make them feel natural in any sporting activity. In the short time I have owned these I have put them through their paces and I can't see a fault in the design or the constructions. I am convinced that these will be with me for many years to come.Overall I can't fault the Bose SoundSport wireless headphones. If your are serious about listening to music while you train I don't think you can go wrong with these. They are more expensive than other high street brands but you are making an investment in quality that will last you into the future. A full five stars from me.

I was the owner of a much loved Bose mono single bluetooth earbud (Bose Bluetooth Headset series 2) which Bose discontinued, so bought these as a replacement about 9 months ago. I am a HAPPY CUSTOMER. I was astonished with the quality of the sound, especially the clarity of the bass, and very happy with the perfect fit. This makes up for all personality issues with these buds, which I will talk about later. They hold up to moisture and dropping without missing a beat. They can play music continuously for hours. I use them on the tennis court when I play against a ball machine. I put my iPhone on the side of the court. The buds stay in no matter how I move and the music stays connected everywhere on the entire court. The only time they fall out is when I take off a t-shirt and forget I have the buds in. My old mono bud had the ability to pair with multiple devices at the same time. So I could listen to a book on my Kindle --and take a phone call from my iPhone. These buds pair with only one device at a time. To do this, you push and hold the button on the left earbud. After it announces "device disconnected, ready to connect" you have a short time window of a few seconds to push the connection command on the desired device. If you don't do this in time, it will try to reconnect with the last device. After the last firmware update this has gotten MUCH better, but it's still not perfect. If all else fails, I put the buds back in the case, which functions like a reboot. There's no on/off switch on the earbuds. You have to put them in the case to turn them off. If you forget the case, but don't want to listen to the buds, you can put them down and they will automatically go into standby mode. (You can set the for this via the Bose AP.) To get the buds out of standby mode you push the left bud button and it will reconnect. If the buds are out of my ears and not in the case and a call comes in I have to scramble to change the phone output from the buds to the phone or quickly put the buds in depending on how long its been since the buds were out of my ears (whether the buds have powered down).I never have problems with getting both earbuds to connect to the iPhone. But if I leave them in standby mode connected to my Kindle, when they wake up only the right ear bud will transmit sound. I have to disconnect them from the Kindle, then reconnect to the iPhone, then disconnect the iPhone, then reconnect the Kindle. This is an odd personality quirk, but I'm OK with the above workaround. The case design is brilliant. The buds click into place, locked magnetically. It will recharge the buds quickly. Sometimes I go 3-4 days between charges of the case.Wishes: I wish the buds had an on/off switch. I wish the case had a finder function. If you leave the earbuds out of the case the Bose AP has a finder function, but it doesn't work if both buds are nestled in the case. I wish there were separate color choices on the case; I would choose a BRIGHT color to that it could stand out. I have spent many moments rushing around my house looking for where I left my bud case! The black case looks great but it hides itself too well in the corners of my house. All in all, I am very happy with these earbuds; they go wherever I go.

I don't want to sound like a fanboy or anything, but errrmmmaagawwwwd I LOVE THESE 'phones! Despite already owning a pair of Beats X (now gathering dust in a drawer somewhere as 'emergency backups') the Bose SoundSports were far too desirable not to replace them as my primary lughole noise makers. They look beautiful (I went 'classic' piano black but wish I had got some coloured ones), and come on, was there every any doubt that the sound wouldn't be anything less than stellar?Well, let me tell you about the sound, friend. I have recently become obsessed with Rodrigo y Gabrila, a guitar playing / bashing duo who produce tunes with no lyrics.I am obsessed because of the incredible range of sounds these two can make using just a couple of guitars, and the pure physicality of their performance. Soooo, I have listened to their music on speakers, my Beats X, on-hear 'phones (Bose, obvs), and I have been blown away by the quality of the SoundSports. Clarity and tone at all volume levels is smashing, and despite not being noise-cancelling do a great job of blocking out general ambient noise. The headphones sit very securely and comfortably with the magic twistlock move of the buds, and though not subjecting them to a full workout have definitely danced vigorously enough around the kitchen to determine they are indeed locked and loaded when put in correctly.I've used the headphones in and around the house, in bed, out hiking, sometimes just using the primary 'phone (right) so I can keep an ear on the kids. I've used them to make and receive a few phone calls, and though I wish calls would stream to both ear-pieces haven't had any trouble with the connection or clarity so won't complain about that feature. I've had the headphones for less than a week, but given their convenience, quality, great battery life (and ability to recharge for hours longer using the carry-case), have used them daily and for hours at a time. I imagine I'll continue using them daily, for hours at a time for some time to come too!The bluetooth connection works like a charm in these, and has consistently proven to be quicker and more reliable than the Apple W1 chip connection in my Beats X. Er how? Magic is how. Bose Magic. Other lovely features are the companion app which allows management of the headphones, 'lost' mode (beepy) and GPS/timestamp of last connected location; brilliant - I was concerned about the lack of wires meaning I might easily mislay them (I haven't, but I have tested by playing hide-and-seek with them with the kids!).The one minor gripe I have with the entire experience to date is with the charging case mechanics, I'm afraid. The button to open the lid isn't 100% reliable, and you need to press it 'just right' to open properly. It feels like it's broken or on the way to breaking, but I think - hope - it's just another 'feature' which is slightly annoying, but doesn't really matter in the long run.Overall, I reckon this to be a home-run for Bose. Packing such amazing tech and battery life into these teeny-tiny beauts is a marvel, and something as yet unrivalled by any other manufacturer.

My favorite headphones are a pair of Bose over-ear noise canceling headphones. I love them, but I desperately needed some equally great sounding headphones for when I run or workout. I have tried so many, but none seem to have the sound quality that I am used to while being wireless and sweat resistant. So, finally I find myself the owner of the Bose SoundSport Free headphones and they are pretty much everything I expected. The experience has not been perfect, however. Here is both the good and the bad of my active life with the Bose SoundSport Free.First, the sound of the Bose SoundSport Free is absolutely pristine. Honestly, every frequency is well represented and comes together in a rich, detailed and dynamic sound signature. Easily better than the rivals. The lows are deep and pack a punch without being overdone. The mids such as male voices are front and center and have good clarity yet retain character. The highs are also fantastic. There is no harshness to the highest of sounds. There is also very little roll- off. Each crash of a symbol, for example, rings clear to the very last ring. These Bose are also transparent. I can hear subtle details in my music that very few headphones of any type can replicate. I am very impressed.Another aspect that I love about the Bose SoundSport free is the ease of connectivity. Once I initially paired the bluetooth with my iPhone, I have never had to do anything to reconnect the headphones again. The headphones automatically turn on and connect when removed from the charging case. Transversely, they turn off and disconnect when placed back into the case. It seems subtle but now it seems annoying to have to actually use a button to power on other headphones. These Bose also have a very stable fit. Despite walks, runs, intense workouts and many other activities, the headphones have stayed put. In fact, they have never fallen out since I have owned them.If there is a downside to the experience, it is that the headphones allow in a little too much outside noise. I do appreciate that I can hear traffic when running in my busy neighborhood. Yet, often I feel that too much noise leaks in that threatens to drown out my music. Expect to listen at high volumes to down out the clutter of a busy gym. Another downside is that the charging case is a little bulky for my taste. Nothing horrible, yet I prefer not to have the case in my pocket during exercise. The case either stays home or gets thrown in the gym bag. There is much more to be said about the Bose SoundSport Free. Battery life is great with plenty of charge for any workout. And a quick recharge in the battery case is easy enough when needed. The Bose Connect companion app is also useful to update the firmware and manage various settings. Finally, their are great voice prompts upon each power-on. Very useful to inform of which devices they are connected to and how much battery life is left. There are some aspects that I wish were different perhaps; yet, I am thrilled that I can have Bose quality sound with a headphone that is completely wire free.

Foolishly I signed up for the National 3 Peaks which meant I needed to spend time training! To take my mind off the pain, I went for a set of wireless headphones which after 6 weeks went in the bin as I was so sick of their inability to stay in my ears and the poor sound quality. I decided to upgrade to a set of Bose SoundSport Free headphones…..I was not disappointed! The first thing for me was that they actually stay in your ears and that was doing a variety of different things in the gym such as running, spin classes and weights. I thought that the dreaded star jumps would dislodge them but they didn’t budge! When I first put them in, it felt like I was wearing one of those Bluetooth ear pieces for your mobile phone!!!However in a very short time, they felt very natural and you hardly know you have them in. They come with S/M/L buds which you need to make sure that you trial to get the best fit possible for you. They suffer no loss in performance or quality from either the sweat worked up in the gym or from the rain when I have been running outsideAs for Battery life, it’s advertised as 5 hours however my work outs never lasted more than 2 hours so could not actually confirm whether they did or not. The headphones come in a sleek black case which also acts as a charger for them. You can get at least 2 full charges (10 hours) each from a fully charged case so based on my current training, I will need to charge every 2 weeks which is absolutely fine….if you need a quick charge, 15mins charge will give you 45mins use of the headphones. In terms of connecting the headphones to your music device, in my case an iphone which has the Bose Connect app on it, it was a simple, into the app, select the headphones and pull down on the screen and I was good to go. You can use the app to find your headphones if you have lost them and get them to play a sound so you can locate them. It will also time stamp when were last connected. On the right headphone is the volume, call answer/end button which is sturdy and does not dislodge the headphone when you push them. On the left headphone is the Bluetooth connect. Whilst using these to date, I have experienced no drop out of Bluetooth between my iPhone and the headphones which is great. What also makes these special is the sound quality and clarity which for me, was fantastic. Even though I had them on full volume, the sound quality and tone does not deteriorate. They are not too bass heavy and whilst not noise cancelling certainly cancelled some of the immediate noise that you normally get in a gym. I have not used them for anything else other than training as I already own a pair of Bose QC35 for the home and when I am travelling. If you are spending your time in the gym and like listening to music, podcasts or audiobooks whislt training, I totally recommend these headphones. Yes they are expensive, but they are top of the range headphones with great, sturdy design and amazing sound quality so I consider this to be an investment as you will have them for years to come.

I bought these headphones wanting to get above-average true wireless quality. In all fairness, having to experience some of the competition. Bose truly creates a mesmerizing sound. (For true sound experts, it still has that generated tone, that really hinders the true depth.) The major up-side to Bose's sound sport free wireless is the safety. You have a choice of 3 earpiece sizes, which when chosen properly give you the security of a tight fight without much fear of falling. Activities such as exercise and just casual day by day use will not cause them to fall out. Another positive note, the battery life. The headphones themselves have a 5-hour battery life, with an additional 2-hour charging capacity from the case provided.Using them on and off throughout the day, I find that to be the perfect battery capacity to last me a few days in a row. As well, the software. The software associated with these headphones is generally useful. I feel really secure knowing that both of my earphones have tracking enabled, and the ability to generate a pretty loud sound when I am in need of locating them. To me, this is a great feature, since these are indeed wireless headphones. In any other aspects of the software, it doesn't really do much for these headphones besides, update and locate. Now, the downsides. I've heard this from other reviews and completely agree with it. Background wind noise is a problem. If you are running fast, or outside during a mildly windy day, you will definitely hear the wind hitting the shell of the pronounced headphone. This can be reduced by simply turning up volume, and it will become harder to notice. (However, not everyone likes to listen to loud music.)This only applies to people who tend to watch videos with headphones. I consider this to be the only major downfall of the Bose Soundsport Wireless. Videos will almost NEVER properly sync up to the audio. There is usually a noticeable delay between voice seen, and sound heard. I do have to disconnect the headphones when I would like to watch a video. Now, that being said, I have tested this extensively, this delay only occurs when streaming videos from popular streaming apps. (I'm not going to list names as fear of copyright, but it starts with Y, and rhymes with tube at the end.) When watching a video, that is stored on your device, or downloaded, this problem doesn't seem to exist. The only reason I feel this to be a problem is due to other competitive brands not having this issue at all.My overall opinion:If you're brand new to this, and want the best commonly known sound, with comfort and ease, and are just looking for utility & sound, go for it. The price is well worth the money. Note:- The storage case could be considered big if you intend to carry it in your pocket. - The headphones do stick out of your ear making you look like a weird cyborg kind of guy, but you get the upside of saying, "These are Bose headphones" whenever someone asks you about the weird thing in your ear.(Colours are pretty neat as well.)

The Bose SoundSport Wireless Ear Buds are packaged very nicely as with most of the Bose products. Included in the package are three tips, the two ear buds and a chargeable carrying case with its own usb cord. I already own the Bose Soundsport Earbuds which connect with a wire, so the wireless was the next best thing, and they certainly didn't disappoint. Before they arrived, I was very concerned that I would lose them because they aren’t connected by a wire like my others, but it turns out that I just needed to get myself in the habit of using the carrying case, which means that I have to have it with me, at all times. And I truly love the idea of the case because it not only protects and stores the earbuds but it also charges them at the same time.So the ear buds have never run out of batteries even though I use them for several hours at a time, throughout the day. Also, the case itself, is rechargeable which I only have to charge after 4 or 5 days depending on how many hours I use them. I use these Ear Buds everyday and all day. First I start my early morning with a jog around my neighborhood or a jog on my treadmill in my garage. And I was happily surprised to find that even though the buds are a bit bulky, they fit comfortably and securely in my ear. I use the medium size tip for my ears and all I do is insert than twist upwards to tuck in. After my morning jog, I have to prepare for work which I do from my home office. My work involves a high volume of phone calls and computer transactions. I make and receive calls from a VOIP system, RingCentral on my work computer. And when I’m away from the computer, I use the RingCentral app, on my iPhone, to take business calls, and found that the ear buds paired easily to my iPhone to pick up my RingCentral calls. Many times I am listening to music in between my work calls, and the ear buds allow me to easily switch between music and calls. For those days when I’m taking in a lot of calls, I only use the right earbud because it is the one with most of the controls on it and works similar to the bluetooth earpeice for mobile phones. I can control the volume from my right earbud, and switch between music and calls by a push of a button. The sound that comes through these ear buds is perfectly clear, and all my calls come through sounding better than when I’m not using them with no cracking or interference. This product doesn't offer noise cancellation, but for my needs, it has not been a deterrent. For me, the sound, the comfort, the quality, and user-friendly application are key components, and the Bose Wireless SoundSport has all that and more. I’ve become very dependent on this product and am not sure how to live without them. I highly recommend them to people that love to exercise, listen to music and make many phone calls because they simply make life easier. I received the Bose SoundSport Wireless Ear Buds to test for four weeks, in exchange for an honest unbiased evaluation of the product. The opinions expressed here are solely my own.

The cordless headphones come in stylish packaging. BOSE has also come up with good ideas for storage. The storage box is compact, robust and nice and small. Safe storage in the sports bag or other bags is guaranteed in any case. The practical thing about the box is that it is also a charging box for up to two full discharges of the headphones. Now for the headphones. They are easy to attach and hold firmly in the ear, no wobbling, no pressing (once you have the right size of the silicone holder and there are three sizes S-M-L). Since I had the headphones with me a lot during sports and a city run, I can confirm the comfort and the firm hold. There is nothing to complain about the sound,no voices that are too low or too low, no high pitched tones and rich bass. Since they are no noise-canceling headphones, my surroundings are noticeable at half to three-quarters of the volume. But personally I don't think it's bad with sports headphones. At full volume, you can no longer hear anything from your surroundings. I already had loud in-ear headphones, but the sound was unbearable. Now the pros / cons:+ rich sound+ clear voices+ Very comfortable despite the slightly larger size. After a few minutes you don't even notice+ Easy to place and remove+ firm hold in the ear+ Storage box with integrated battery for charging+ stable and handy storage box+ Connect app with search function as well as controls, updates and manual+ if you only use one, the other one doesn't hang around your neck somewhere+ no annoying cable and control panel when jogging+ Search mode with playable sound on the headphones as soon as the app is connected+ Software updates via the app and a few settings for the headphones+ the buttons for the operation have to be pressed a little harder. Has the advantage that the button is not pressed accidentally! Disadvantage: People with wide fingers are probably more difficult to operate.- Since both headphones are only connected via Bluetooth and the left headphone is not connected directly to the phone, but to the right master headphone, the city has to deal with short interruptions due to the many faults reconnect to the source as others wrote in your recession I cannot confirm now). But these last less than a second, then he is connected again. I don't find this really disturbing, but it can be seen as a negative. Until it was just jogging in the city.- the Connect app often loses connection to the headphones. This has no effect on the headphones, but it is annoying when you have to press connect again.- Too short charging cable for the storage box, at the price it could have been at least half a meter and a power adapter. Conclusion: I do not regret the purchase and can only recommend the headphones despite the small mangoes. Until now I have never really had a technical device that fully meets the expectations and wishes. Even with expensive quality products. You can always find something small. Intro:For this review, I will list several categories and remark upon each of them. I will then end with some closing thoughts. I hope you find this review to be helpful in your (possible) purchase!Sound quality:For Bose, the sound quality is on par with other audio devices they sell. The sound is rich, the bass is there (but not too over-powering), and the mid-range sounds pretty natural. Taking calls on the earbuds is an easy process and both sides of the phone call can hear each other with almost “crystal clear” quality. Noise cancelling:As one might expect with “true” wireless earbuds, the noise cancelling isn’t the greatest. While it is able to passively block out some noise,it is not on the level of other (non-true wireless) earbuds. Then again, to my knowledge, Bose does not market these to be noise cancelling. Thus, with that in mind, any level of (unintentional) noise cancelling is great. Compared to Apple’s Airpods, I would say that the Airpods are able to block out noise slightly better than the SoundSport Free. Bluetooth/Tech:The Bluetooth connection works great on the Bose SoundSport Free. The range is fairly good (on par with other wireless earbuds). The earbuds also can pair with an app that has the ability to control the basic functions. Form factor:The case itself is rather large but small enough to not be a nuisance. The case is very well built and includes a battery to charge the physical earbuds while you are on the go. I was able to charge my earbuds multiple times and overall, the Bose SoundSport free lasted around 5-7 days depending on the daily usage. Overall, the case is portable and lightweight enough to carry around virtually anywhere.Regarding the buds themselves, they are pretty large. They are pretty noticeable when one is actually wearing them and that may be a minus depending on what kind of person you are. One plus of their large size is that Bose was able to include a large battery, which means longer runtimes. Other than that, they are really comfortable and the signature Bose StayHear+ Sport tips are magnificent: they stay in while sitting, working out, running, etc. Speaking of working out, the SoundSport Free is water-resistant and getting sweaty on them is no problem: everything still functions normally. The in-line remote is a little hard to control but with use overtime, I feel like that should not be a huge problem. Conclusion:Overall, the Bose SoundSport Free is a solid package offering great sound quality in a portable package. While a tad larger than most true wireless earbuds, the battery life and the aforementioned sound quality more than make up for it. Coupled with the great battery life, comfortable ear tips and the case (with charging capability), this is a great buy for anyone desiring to get into wireless audio devices.
