Hi.I had purchased this pair of headphones due to my birthday which I had received money to get a new pair, and initially purchased these due to my birthday being right before Black Friday.I love to have my fair share amount of budget headphones, ranging from Bluedio to SkullCandy's and these are one of the most expensive pairs I have ever bought; therefore, I would not trust my review regarding comparisons to other big brands such as Bose and Audio Technica's.I received the headphones yesterday and from first impressions, it was nicely placed in a box with cables in a protective bag as well as metal frame adjustments for the headphones.Otherwise the headphones are made of plastic that feel and are made to withstand big impacts such as dropping them on the floor if you ever had problems with being clumsy like I am.The feel of it is really nice but considering it feels plastic-y makes it feel weird for the amount I had paid, although it definitely doesn't change my opinion on the headphones itself. I cannot comment on the build quality much at all considering I had just received them and I will update you if anything changes; which if not assume they're still going completely. When opening the package the headphones were the first things I saw, which other headphones on the market usually have some form of protection when opening it. I do not recommend opening the box upside down for sure because the headphones are likely to fall immediately out upon first inspection. In addition, you do not get a headphone pouch or anything to protect your headphones over long distances. As weird as it might be - that was a crucial point for me, but like I had initially stated, I had purchased from Bluedio (and had problems with their headphones because they became damaged almost immediately) - I had a spare protective pouch around which I could easily use with these Sony's. Thankfully I was lucky, but if you're a person wanting these headphones then please do get one and use it frequently. The sound quality were really impressive when connecting to it immediately, although you're brought with new firmware which Sony releases that help expand the sound quality of these headphones. The only thing you really have to do is just download the app and download the newest update for the headphones once you connect them through Bluetooth. I personally believe that the headphones manage to perform high and lows really well and with the app you can set up your own 5-band equaliser to set it for yourself rather than let the headphones do the work and automatically adjust it for you. With every choice you chose - the Sony's do an incredible job at producing the music whether you really want low low-frequencies to high and so forth. It is amazing for the price I had bought for (which was £80) during the Black Friday sale with the amount of software support it has to fluctuate with the user. The headphones as well for me personally sit on my head very well without no problems whatsoever and I have already tried running with them. They are fixed to your head which is great for those who like to listen to music when walking, jogging or even running.Lastly, people complain that the Noise Cancelling is pretty non-existent and I can totally see their views. I use NC constantly with these headphones and I can understandably see people hearing no difference between neither two modes. Although, I have hyper-sensitive hearing and it helps a lot with that because I do not hear a lot (although not everything) in the background. Don't buy these just for the noise cancelling, but it is there.Ultimately I've only had a couple of problems:- Not receiving a protective pouch- Had trouble Bluetooth connecting the second time and had to reset the headphones to re-pair them. And also some criticism (so far) for these headphones for Sony:- Invest in protective pouches. Loads of smaller companies (already mentioned, such as Bluedio) offer this with lower grade headphones. You should too.- Change to USB-C cable as it has a much stable and faster connection.

I bought this product to use at the gym and when commuting by Train. Before purchasing this product I used a pair of wired in-ears. The problem I had with those was that background noise would cause me to have to turn up the volume a lot to be able to hear my music properly, and the cable got in the way at the gym and was a faff to pull out of my shirt when I got to the office.I managed to buy these on sale for £80 and really happy with my purchase.Pros:- Noise Cancelling: There are better (and much more expensive) noise cancelling solutions out there but this really does the trick for me. I can listen to my music at much lower levels and without being bothered by background noise (particularly the obnoxious rubbish they play at the gym).- Wireless: Freedom! It's really great to be free of that cable and not having to worry about it getting caught in the gym equipment etc.- Comfort: Can wear for a good few hours without them causing any discomfort to my ears/head.- Sound Quality: Sound quality is decent for casual listening. Certainly not a flat frequency response and wouldn't attempt to use them for audio/sound engineering or any kind of critical listening (for that I use Beyerdynamic DT880 pro).- Controls: being able to skip/pause/play from the headset is very convenient- Hands free calling: Wasn't something I bought these for but it's quite a nice feature that I have made plenty of use of.Cons:- Comfort: I know I listed it as a pro above but there is one thing about these cans that is uncomfortable - They are TOO WARM! Particularly at the gym my head ends up sweating buckets wearing these things and it feels a bit disgusting. I have to wipe them down regularly thoughout my session and clean them regularly as well because of this.- Controls can sometimes be a little unresponsive when you first power up. Could possibly be my phone not responding right away but unfortunately don't have a way to test.Overall I recommend the product, particularly if you happen to see it on sale!

Given 5 stars as paid £58 for used like new and forthis price these headphones are excellent. The noise cancelling is not great, i had a previous pair of goji ANC headphones that kept out speech better but were not as good at keeping out household appliances, this was a test i done when there was nothing playing, compared to the gojis the 700n were 10 times better when something was playing and unlike the gojis they did not suffer any noticeable reduction in volume with ANC on. The codecs are good, I was using APTx through windows 10 and tested an SBC connection and there was a considerable difference in the quality, however you can not use any equalisers of DSEE with APTx so with some playing around you may get SBC to sound close to or better than APTx.The only issue I found with a windows 10 connection was that if I turned Dolby atmos for headphones off and had standard stereo as my setting the sound seemed to be low even at 100%, maybe there is someway of changing this but I would need to play around with windows to find out how, On IOS with an AAC connection you can still use DSEE and an equaliser. Had no volume issues with anything on IOS and they blew the Goji’s away, I was impressed with the Goji’s when i got them in 2017 and after 5 minutes with the 700n I can no longer use them due to how bad they sound, I would agree with many of the reviews, if noise cancelling is the most important thing your going to have to spend above £200 on the xm3s or bose 35s. If your not looking at buying the headphones above £200 then do not expect amazing noise cancelling and you should consider these. If I had paid £150 for these I think I would have regretted not paying the extra for the xm3s, if I paid £100 I would have been happy. If you get these below £75 then they are a bargain.

Coming from using Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro's for a couple of years, I'm very surprised at how good these sound. Especially the bass, which is notably more impactful without being overly so.I use these to listen to a variety of music as well as for gaming and everything works and sounds great. My only complaint about the sound really is that rock (music with a lot of instruments) don't sound quite as good as with my Beyerdynamic's. Possibly because of the audio compression. The sound isolation that the pads bring probably blocks out 60% of outside sound, whilst the active noise cancelling blocks another 25% (although mostly on the lower or mid section), so 85% or more of outside sound is blocked, which is really impressive.I've used these in the gym a couple of times. They are very effective at blocking out the gym's music and other sounds but the pads are not very breathable and so you they will get sweaty quite quickly. I have since given up on using them in the gym because of this.As I mentioned, I use these for gaming, including fast paced ones such as PUBG and Apex Legends. I've not had any issues sound delay.Connectivity distance is good but depends largely on your device or bluetooth dongle. I can walk further away without the connection dropping when using a bluetooth 4.2 dongle instead of a 4.0 dongle.Ergonomics - The buttons are intuitive and the battery life is good. The headset is also very light, but unlike the Bose QuietComforts, aren't very comfortable when you rest them around your neck. The mic is poor - mainly due to the poor audio compression of bluetooth. I've had to resort to using a desktop mic instead.Overall I'm really impressed and I think these are very good value for money. I plan to use these as my main headset for a good few years.

Prior to these I had some competitor analogue wireless headphones that charged on a stand. They were eventually failing, and so I was looking for some bluetooth wireless headphones to replace them, ideally with a built-in microphone (both being features my old headphones didn't have), and was recommended to look at Sony. Buying these, I was wary about them being recharged by USB instead of having a charging stand to keep them on, but I needn't have worried - the battery life is so long I've only just had to charge them! When they got low, I just plugged them in once I'd finished with them. I didn't need to interrupt what I was doing, as even at "low" they had _hours_ of use left. The sound quality is excellent, the built-in microphone is surprisingly good, despite not having a mic boom. They are reasonably comfortable and quite sound-isolating so keep out background noise quite well even with the noise cancelling disabled. The Bluetooth support works with up to 8 devices (I'd seen other reviews saying it can only be paired to one device at a time, and this is not true) but I had a couple of small issues - after pairing with my phone it automatically changed the NC button to a "google assistant" button, even though I declined to set that up - so it stopped doing anything useful. I had to download the Sony Headphone app to change it back to being a noise cancelling on/off button. It doesn't seem to be possible to set functions like that from a PC. It would also be nice to set the default noise cancelling to off as I primarily use them in quiet environments and battery life is better with noise cancelling disabled.Overall I like these headphones and would recommend them.

I've had the 1000X3's, which I enjoyed, but lacked a low end bass. I've also had the XB900BT which had an impressive low end bass, but bled into the mids. I'll start with the noise cancelling feature of the WCH700N. It's fair, but nowhere near the other two I've mentioned. Where the WCH700N really impresses is the sound. Great low end bass, not muddy, but punchy with no bleed into the detailed mids. Vocals are clear but no siblance or harshness. The headset itself is light and very comfortable straight from the box. The earpads are comfortable, but tend to get a little sweaty after an hour or so. No vice like grip either around the ears. Button controls (which I prefer) are precise with a quality feel.Easy to memorize them after a couple of usages. The headset does creak a little, but not when you have it on your head. I got the grey finish model with highlighted gunmetal strips around the controls. Looks stunning and certainly worth more than I paid. The volume of these little gems goes louder than your ears could take.....without distortion. My ears are quite big and stick out a bit. No problem for the earcups and pads which fit over them nicely. Download the Sony connect app to pair with these, and I found my perfect EQ which was the "Exciting" mode. Fiddle around with the app to suit your own musical fidelity. The app now has the bonus of 3D sound equaliser if you want to experiment too. Leaving the NC to one side. These WCH700N's are right up there on sound and comfort with the more expensive flagship models. Test them if you can and you will be sold!Read full review...

I bought these headphones to replace a very old pair of Sony noise cancelling headphones, specifically for up-coming long-haul air travel. I chose them because I trust Sony products (I have several). I have severe high frequency hearing loss. Headphones do not generally work well with hearing aids and I chose these because I could change the equalisation to allow me to use them without my hearing aids in. It worked well. The price point was right for me. There is no point in my buying top of the range headphones because of my hearing but these gave me a great sound (unlike many other headphones I tried). I have no doubt that the sound would be superb for those with good hearing.I would have liked a case but then the price would be higher. At least this way you have the option. Be careful if you buy an after-market case; these headphones are big and they need a big case!I tried the noise cancelling using powerful speakers playing aircraft cabin noise. It worked well. I could feel the table vibrating but I couldn't hear any noise at all. I think they will be even better than my old headphones in real use.I did not find the optional 'environment' surround processing at all useful. I'm afraid they all sounded terrible (to me). I'll just stick with reproducing what the recording engineer intended.Overall a very good product at a good price. You can pay a lot more and, perhaps, get better sound performance - I wouldn't be able to tell - and more features. These give me a delightful sound, look smart and I expect them to last as well a my other Sony products.

This was a present to me from my family as my daughter became fed up of me borrowing her closed-back headphones when I wanted to listen to music in a noisy environment. I'd not looked at the market so can't compare them with other products, but I'm impressed. They sound good, they seem to work well for both phone audio, spoken word and music. Their closed-back design blocks out a lot of external sound and the noise cancelling cancels more of the rumble that otherwise makes it through (I'm not auditioned other NC phones so I don't know how they compare - seems to help though). I'm tried them out with my Sony Android 'phone, a 5th Gen iPod touch,MacBook Pro and even a Nokia N95 - they paired with no trouble at all and all functions could be controlled from the headphones.I've not tried them with a wired connection from a hi-fi and it so it wouldn't really be fair to judge them against my (excellent, but completely open-back) Grado SR-60s. But sound quality certainly does nothing upsetting. Only gripes are that the play/pause/next/prev control makes it all too easy to select next or prev rather than pause. The app for Android is a bit weak, but you really don't need it anyway. The one for iOS wouldn't work on my 5th gen iPod touch, I suspect because it won't run under iOS 9.x. Upgrading the firmware requires the app (there's no wired way to do it, eg via USB) though I haven't noted any bugs. The most recent upgrade only adds features I don't use (Google assistant and Alexa) so isn't important. There don't seem to be any serious bugs.

I like these headphones a lot, because I enjoy listening to music and (especially) films on them. Although I am no hi-fi buff I find the sound reproduction to be very good indeed, there is great clarity and I'm loving the way bass sounds are delivered. You know how every sci fi film has plenty of deep rumbling sounds? Of course you do, and these headphones are up to them, the opening of Blade Runner 2049 just about blasted me out of my chair. The noise cancelling is less than miraculous. It works well for what I will describe as constant sounds such as a whirring fan or humming refrigerator, I can hear such sounds being faded out when noise cancelling is enabled. But for irregular sounds such as human speech the noise cancelling is largely ineffective; there is some reduction due to having the cans clamped over one's ears, and of course music volume can be increased to drown out that nagging voice asking if you've put the wheelie bin out, but you don't need special headphones to do that.My WH-CH700N headphones are a review sample, and yes I'm pleased with them enough that I'd recommend them. Would I spend my own money on a pair? I would certainly go out and try some competing pairs, and I think I'd be hoping for more effective noise reduction,

i got these for fathers days after having a couple of wireless headphones and wired ones, but they never really suited me, wasnt comfy after an hour, poor battery life, wires dangling, poor bluetooth distance, upon opening i thought oh here we go again.. left on charged and read instrucstions.. very clearly laid out and easy to understand, wether you want to use wirelessly or wired..wetehr you want noise cancelling on or off, nice and simple to use just how i like it.. next test was connecting to my laptop.. connected first time no problem hmmm to good to be true, sound test next... i like various styles of music from old to new and ever genre there is and each time these headphones sounded perfect,i honestly cannot fault them... so much so kids and partner now want a pair and trying to steal mine arghhh... final test ..in the instructions it did say about wireless interference hmmm we live in a house with 15+ devices connected to the modem so wasnt expecting much, again walking around 15 ft away from laptop and a perfect signal and sound.. wore them for a good 2 hrs and was comfy, still havnt drained battery..all in all i cannot fault these in anyway...even down to registering them online again nice and simple and quick, great job Sony

I wanted to buy a pair of headphones to listen to music while travelling and while working on the office - need some form of noise cancelling so I am not distracted by some annoying work mates. I came across these, not too expensive, down from £150 to £71 - DEAL!Have used them while travelling in the car (not me driving) and made a few observations:1) While using the noise-cancelling feature does cancel out some noises. They more or less cancel noise which is content - a low hum for example. Do not expect these to cancel out people talking at a louder than average voice or anything like that. They are not as good as Bose noise cancellation but they are good enough for a pair of headphones which cost me £71.2)The material which are used for the ear-cuffs, could be better. The leather-esk material used can make the ears sweaty, and when used for a prolonged period of time, it can become annoying but if you do not mind sweat ears you will be fine.Granted I only wore these a couple times for about 2 hours each and I have not used them too much but I think they are good for the money. The App is a MUST if you think the bass or sounds coming from them are not to your liking.

As per usual, great delivery from Amazon. The headphones themselves are great, especially for the price. They won't compete with Bose QC350's or Sony's own MDX1000 but for £80 (Amazon sale) they're a bargain. One thing that knock's a star off is that I can't understand why Sony have the forward/backward buttons that are on the right cup the wrong way around. i.e. to skip forward a track you push the rocker-switch backwards and to go back a track you push it forwards. Just seems very counter-intuitive to me. Why not the other way way around? It's great this new model (replacing the MDR-ZX770) has a much longer battery life and is controllable by an app, very handy, and with this model you can connect the supplied male-male 3mm input should the battery run out. Lesser models, such as the CH500, don't do this. But as they're around £35 you get what you pay for.Active Noise Cancelling is very good an in an open plan office can drown out most of the hubbub.RRP is £150 and worth it if these were to be your first Bluetooth headphones. Probably not worth it if you're upgrading an existing pair of over-ear Bluetooth headphones unless you pay the bargain sale price of £80.

The sony WH-CH700N are great to listen to. Setting up the Bluetooth was straight forward and quick; there is also NFC capabilities. Positives:- Nice, balanced sound, a bit bassy (but this can be adjusted if you download the app)- Very impressive battery life, around 25 hours (claimed 35 hours)- Comfortable, cushioning on the headband and ear cups- Lightweight and portable- Bluetooth and NFC are useful features- AUX 3.5mm cable included, so you can listen to music etc. even if battery is downNegatives:- Noise Cancelling feature isn't very good, only blocks some outside sounds- When wearing the headphones, the plastics occasionally creaks, and can be distracting- The headphones doesnt fold down into a compact shape (portablility may be important for some people); however the earcups twist so that it lays flatHowever, I feel that if you are looking for a good overall headphone, that can be found for a respectable price, this pair is hard to beat. I thouroughly enjoy listening to these when travelling, etc. Although the headphone has some minor isues, this is a great pair of headphones from Sony.

I received these from a family member as a Christmas gift and have used them numerous times since then. These are my first BT headphones although I do use a cheap pair of BT earphones for the gym.My main wired set are Audio-Technica ATH-M50X so my demands for audio quality are fairly high. These Sony headphones impressed me from the word go, delivering a really competent sound stage from a variety of sources. The high ends are crisp, the mid range, warm and wholesome and the base almost understated but ever present. The build quality is sound and the weight of the headphones and comfort of the pads make them easy to wear for prolonged times without any issues. Charging time is good and battery life, even with NC activated, is more than acceptable.I am taking them to the Cotswolds soon where, paired with my Cayin N3, I am looking forward to hours of lossless Hi-definition music. All in all a fantastic package. OK the 1000XM3 might offer a wider sound stage (just) and the 900s may deliver slightly more base (if that's your bag) but, are these 2 alternatives really worth the extra Wonga, I personally think not.

Bought these for traveling, train, tube, walking and flying. Sound quality is excellent, and the noise cancelling is really for the main environmental sound, deadening most droning tones (engines, planes, cars, hums, chatter), whilst still allowing you to hear people trying to catch your attention or a car beeping you. Don't expect magic, they let you hear your music clearly and not much of the world, but on a plane they hide the engine drone brilliantly. Bluetooth is great on phone, laptop and switch (with Adapter). NFC makes it awesome with devices that have it, turnimg the headphones on and off with a touch. And practically no lag thanks to Aptx. Great music and Volume controls on the side of the headphones, and an app to tweak settings perminamtly, like eq and base. Finally, they have a fast charge and a wired connection included (for plane seats or music games on Switch). And yes, phone calls work too!Overall, for the money these are premium feeling headphones with lots of features and so far I love them; but lets see how the battery lasts. I would recommend a case though if travelling.
