Got this, together with an off-camera sync cord, as a way of sorting out the external flash/manual exposure problem with the Sony Alpha 33 (see my review of that camera for details). I use this as a low-power extra flash to trigger (using slaves) my studio flash units. With this on the camera or the remote cable the camera actually allows you to use the viewfinder and LCD properly in manual mode - great advace! The unit itself is also pretty good - decent output, can be used in TTL mode or in high-power and low-power manual modes. The head tilts and swivels (useful when used with a brolly on a stand), and has a drop-down diffuser to soften the light. Battery life is pretty good if you use 2450 mA/h rechargeable batteries, and the recharge time isn't bad even when shooting on manual high power. Also much cheaper than an equivalent Sony unit.

It is a very good flashgun and really powerful. The only problem with it is that when I use it on bounce mode, TTL and auto, the photo will come very bright and I will have to reduce the flash compensation to -2. I have contacted Sigma Support UK and they said that I will have to send the flashgun back to them as it will need reprogramming or try a replacement unit from Amazon. Amazon did send me a replacement but the new one has the same problem. The other issue that Sigma told is that the unit that I have received from Amazon.co.uk is not sold by Sigma UK and they can't tell if it is covered by the guarantee or not.

Flashgun has worked very well on the tasks it has been used on, and exposure accuracy on the 'Auto' settings has been more reliable than I expected it to be. Also obtained a good number of exposures with the batteries that I used, and they were not the most expensive batteries. The only minor complaints about the product are the poor polarity indication for battery installation and the build quality is a little on the weak side.

Brought for a pentax d-slr. First one was faulty - did not tell camera it was charged and auto zoom function not working. However, immediately replaced and second one is excellent. Great light output when needed and resulted in excellent photos in very mixed conditions both inside and out. No hestitation in recommending this item and giving it 5*'s despite the problem with the first one!!

Bought this gun for my Pentax K100D and even though I have only used it once so far, the results were excellent. It is good with the TTL setting and the gun recognises the varying zoom and sets the parameters accordingly. The gun is quite robust and the battery compartment cover is suitably hinged. The gun works well with rechargeable batteries.

Plenty of power but I'm wary of the amount of weight the unit places on the hot-shoe. I've used a fitting to mount the flash at the side of the camera.Still learning how to fine-tune it for close-up work but otherwise works well with my Pentax K100

Hi,I used this on a Canon EOS 77d and it had problems communicating with the camera. I switched to my old EOS 30D and it worked fine. Flash power was good and I used it at a wedding with the Gary Fong attachment. Good angle and swivel movement too

Very pleased with my choice of flash and the results are very impressive.Arrived on the day expected and was very well packaged.Does seem to be a bit heavy on standard Alkaline batteries but a big difference when using Lithium batteries.

i gave this 5 stars because product arrived fast as described and worked perfect with my pentax k5 I honestly couldn't fault works a treat in bad lighting and fast charge with anteloop sanyo batterys.

Flash photography is tricky. It's worth reading up on the basics. Can't fault this product one bit. Comes in handy more often than you think, even outside in the day time!

So far so good. Definitely a more flexible flash than the in-camera flash. Need to get more use out of it before really able to assess it. But looking good so far.

I bought this to go with my dslr, because the built in flash is not up to the job. I bought this after looking at the reviews, and also sigma's reputation.

This was not the gun I was hoping to buy but the first choice was out of stock. I am glad I got this one as it is a great flash unit for the money.

I use this with the Pentax K1. It is my first external flash but I'm pleased with it as it does the job well.
