Really good looking black glass topped scales that look fab on my black speckled work top. LED numeals in red which I find v easy to read. Measures in 1 gr increments (changes to lbs at the push of a button) & will weigh up to 5 kg (11 lbs). Will switch off automatically after a while or you can hold in the power button to turn it off. Has the facility to weigh added ingredients as you go which is useful & particularly excellent for dieters. Best of all it has a decent enclosure for ordinary batteries as opposed to those wretched coin slot turn openings for button batteries where the plastic degrades every time you have to open & close the battery housing until it ceases to work satisfactorily.

very discreet on my balck marble work surface. By being able to zero the counter as I add things to a bowl it saves on washing up. Eay to switch between metric and imperial. Have not yet tried the fluid measurements yet but see no reason for this not to work just as well. Like the fact it turns itself off after a minute or so inactivity so save on battery life.Update 2017 - since last year this product has become inaccurate in its readings particularly at around 300g +. I'd like to contact the seller but can't see how to do this so i guess I'll have to make do. Disappointing as it wasn't cheap and ordinary seemed so good. cakes just aren't the same

Impressed good quality product and build to be used offers serval different weight scales for use we noted a few differences when cooking from some magazines this is able to display weights for anything you might need. Surface very easily cleaned and fictions are simple and easy to use I went for this model as the displayed weights are in red LED which makes it easier to see. My only negative point might be that for some people with less physical actions may find the battery compartment tricky. Over all it’s a good product and care has been taken to make something useful.

Scales are compact so fit into a drawer easily, and still have all the weighing features for dry and liquid items. Buttons are on the front so don’t change the weights when pushed, leaving a clear top for your items. The top is glass so wipes clean easily, but being black it shows when not perfectly wiped and dried. The Red display is clear and easy to see. It has a plastic body so feels a bit light weight but doesn’t detract from being up to the job and far more accurate than my last set.

The scales are good in themselves, a replacement for a similar set of Salter digital scales that sadly went for a swim...Glass top is great and much easier to clean than the old one. The display is nice and clear even under wide rimmed bowls and very fast to tare which was my gripe with the old one. The only real downside is that the display is slow to catch up to the change in weight so you can find yourself adding and removing a few times where it's not quite hit the level you need.

Size: 166mm x 202mm x 20mm (not 185 x 250 x 35 as Argos states).Buttons nice and clicky but could get knocked accidentally by fingers or utensils.Display is backlit LCD and does not have a very good viewing angle (30 or so off vertical), but it is OK.Takes 2 AAA batteries, which can be rechargeable.Measures -5kg to +5kg in 1g increments (although it's probably only accurate to +/-1.5g), or -11lb to +11lb in 0.1oz increments (not 1/8oz)Display responds quickly (within 1 second)

They are a good size so you can still see the bright LCD display even if you put a fairly large bowl on the scales and the glass is easy to clean. I also like that I can use to weigh liquids. My only complaint is that they do not seem as sensitive as the Salter Arc scales I previously had. When adding ingredients ie flour by the spoonful to the bowl there is a millisecond pause before the scale registers the new weight so if I add it too quickly I end up having to take some off.

These are handy scales that can measure both solids & liquids, reading both metric & imperial. As a home cook, I find it useful to be able to 'zero' the scales to add ingredients, e.g. when adding milk to flour. The scales look good, with a glass top & an easy to read red display.The weighing surface is a little small.If you put a plate on them or a bowl with a wide base it can be tricky to read the display.Other than that, these scales are well worth buying.

I've only that this scale for a week or so now, but it works very well. It's very lightweight and sleek looking, so I have mine out on my countertop. It is the size of a very small book, so you could easily tuck it away in the cupboards without taking up any space. Besides the aesthetic of the scale, it is really simple to use. I didn't even have to look at the instructions as it is very basic, which is exactly what I was looking for :) Would definitely recommend!

Very good neat ,clean design and easy to use and clean.It does everything I need to do in weighing, comfortably.When storing it back in it's box take care not to switch it back on accidently as the switch is on the end of the scales as you slide it in although it does auto switch off after a short while..Only problem was, it was out of stock and I would sooner have had it shipped to my nearest Argos store for collection rather than wait in for a delivery.

Replacement for a previous pair of Salter scales .Slim, stylish and very easy to use. Like the facility to zero and add different ingredients and change the weights at the flick of a button.Only downside is the glass top. Must have caught something on them as I know have a compact but visible scratch. Had previous Salter scales for 5 years and glass surface was never a problem.For the cost, I would have no reservation in recommend these scales.

Previous scales lasted approx. 3 years, purchased these has replacement, found them being of usual Salter Quality and look great, very sensitive on weight also can measure water, something that our scales didn't so an advantage when adding water to any mixture, the RED LED is very crisp and clear to read and scales cut off automatically after 3 minutes when not in use or you can turn off manually also comes with 15year warranty

They work perfectly for me. They're my first set of electric scales. I like how simple everything is; two buttons, and they both perform perfectly. Items weigh accurately. Battery life seems great (have been using for a month or two, on and off). The automatic shut down timer is a very reasonable time limit. I'm never rushing to finish weighing things.Overall, well made, easy to clean, and accurate. I'm very happy with them.

The scales arrived and were unpacked, recipe book opened, chose a recipe which had ten ingredients using grammes, ounces and millilitres, two different mixing bowls (different tare weights) all weighed out. A bit different to having plates and measuring jugs in the way whilst trying to mix the ingredients together. All I can say Salter is thank you for the way I now cook. Even my wife is learning how to use the scales!

These things shouldn't wind you up, but little kitchen gadgets often seem to behave badly at the crucial moment. Not this one. An improvement on some recent Salter Scale designs, this one is accurate, small, sturdy and very easy to read. It slots away in the cupboard, just slightly bigger than a CD case, and behaves exactly as it should, which is important when you're covered in flour and furious at everything.
