First impressions are good with the Ryobi machine. I had the Black & Decker equivalent up until a week ago when that self destructed after about 3 months of occasional use. The Ryobi seems to be much more well designed, heavier and a lot more durable, only time will tell I guess, but it can't be anywhere near as bad as that blasted B&D that's for sure. For a start it's half as quiet, plus there's a two year warranty and a service centre just down the road in my local town, reassuring if things go belly up. Watch this space because if this sander fails in as short a period of time as that B&D I think I'll just give up and resort back to my cheap and cheerful third of a sheet sander that was turned out in some Chinese sweatshop and whose brand name I'm unable to pronounce!

Oh yes, this is definitely the one. Tried a few others which varied in efficiency and comfort, but this is light, fits the palm of your hand, its not too aggressive, there is a great pop down tiny finger tool for intricate detail, a neat box to catch the dust, and a storage bag for the unit and all your spare sanding sheets. Love it.

Love this new sander (replacing an old Black and Decker similar item that burned out) ...easy to use and most of all pretty vibration free! Made mincemeat of an upcycling prep job I had on the go and did not hurt my arthritic hands. Would recommend ot for those hobby jobs that need a nippy little sanding tool :-)

These are brilliant. No more mashed knuckles and tedious cleaning up. It really does catch the dust. There is a natty little finger sized tool that really gets into those awkward bits of carpentry! Light weight and fast.

This is a lovely little sander, very easy to use and does the job I don't think it would be suitable for big jobs as it would take to long but for light sanding on smallish items it is ideal, very please with it.

Perfect. Would recommend this to anyone. Made really short work of an awful lot otherwise very laborious sanding, restoring our campervan. Metal, filler, old paintwork, handles anything. Love it.

A great little tool for sanding my door frame. Found the performance great, however, the vibration caused the dust connector to come off twice, hence only 4 star and not 5,

Great little sander that takes the pain out of preparing woodwork for painting. I don't have very strong wrists and this is a good size and weight for me to handle.

We bought this to sand down the wood work in the lounge and hall ready for painting. It did a great job and did reduce the amount of dust.

Best sander I have ever purchased, very efficient gets through tough jobs in no time would highly recommend one of these, fantastic.

Very easy to use like the bit at the front to get into little places did a good job on my garden table and 3 benches

Bought this to use on an Ercol chair to remove the old varnish as it had gone an orangey colour. Did the job well.

Great little electrical sander. Works very well and makes light work of sanding. No more manual sanding for me HHa

This is a nice small sized palm sander from Ryobi that works well and gives really good quality for the money.
