I wasn't sure if I liked this Ultra Matte Lip Colour when I first applied it, because it really is very flat and matt indeed. However, as time passed and the product started to wear off slightly I found I liked the finish much better as it became more of a stain than a solid block of colour. It's a thickish liquid almost cream formulation. The shade I tested - Seduction - appears slightly terracotta through the tube walls but absolutely isn't on the lips. It's actually a very natural fleshy pink, no beige tones and not washed out, which makes your teeth look nice and white. Despite being a matte formulation, it's not at all drying and applies easily without making the lips look flaky, which is quite impressive for a non gloss or non satin finish. The lip colour comes in a flat and very tactile, smooth tube with a silver matt lid. It's not unlike the squashed flattish packaging that Revlon are using for their mascaras at the moment, so I suppose gives some continuity in your make-up bag. I wasn't 100% sold on the packaging to be honest, as although it's very comfortable to hold, I am a bit of a purist and prefer the glamour of a silver bullet or black lacquer tube for my lipstick. It's applied with one of those sponge tip applicators which, again I'm not a great fan of, as they seem a bit cheap and teenage to me; however in fairness to Revlon, given the formulation is quite liquidy they obviously have limited options for delivery systems. That said I would have preferred a pen with a brush.Overall I thought this was a well formulated product that gave a nice finish, especially if blotted down a bit to ensure you don't have too much of a full on matte, more of a stain. It wears well and is good value for money.

I really love this lipcolour for its depth of colour, ease of application, and its smell…mmm, mangos and vanilla. I was very surprised by the size of it when I opened the box. I was expecting a small vile with a little brush but this is actually 11 x 2.5 x 1.5cm. The brush is long and tapered and the large handle is really good for application. The lip colour glides across your lips effortlessly, and colour can be build up for darker shades. Whilst this is a matt product it does seem to catch the light so it always looks fresh. The feel on your lips is similar to that of a lip gloss in that it doesn’t seem to dry. Personally I don’t find this a problem as even 24 hour products never seem to last that long and at least this product isn’t making such claims. As such you will need to reapply the colour every few hours and it will leave marks on your cups, but at least no one else will steal them. The colour I ordered was ‘Passion’, which in the picture is a purplish/pinkish colour that I think would normally be described as berry. However, the picture was rather deceiving as ‘Passion’ is actually red, almost a pillarbox red. Whilst the change in colour is very different from what I was expecting it is actually a really nice shade which looks surprisingly good, so I’m not disappointed by the change. If the other colours in the range are as good as this one then I’ll certainly try a couple more.

Colour under review: SeductionCurrently, the product picture looks deeper and more red than the colour I received, which was more of a terracotta/peachy/dark nude shade. And the "sample" picture in the listing is way too pink. The packaging for this is rather nice and bigger than I expected, somehow (10.5cm approx ) - a clear rounded section for the lip colour itself topped with a silver colour lid.The applicator wand is the standard type for applying lip gloss. The product itself is light, with a high level of pigmentation. It goes on like a gloss, with an initial shine, but soon settles into a semi matte finish. The product smells/tastes quite strongly of vanilla - I like it,but I know it's not for everyone. I normally prefer a brighter lip (red or plum) so I was uncertain of this at first, but once I'd finished the rest of my makeup (brow definer, brown eyeliner, mascara) it had grown on me - I looked natural, but "finished". This is a great day time or casual lip colour to wear.It terms of durability, it wasn't as long lasting as some matte products, which stick like glue - I didn't need to repair it after coffee, but by the time it was lunch, it needed touching up.Good product, good price.

Now I confess, lipsticks are a real weakness for me. I never leave the house without a lipstick, and have emergency lipsticks in my draw at work, and in my bag. Because they do wear off. This, however, was impressive. I applied the lipstick first thing - which for me is about 5:30am. It was a busy day, so I don't see a mirror until just before lunch - and it is still going strong. 5pm, and it still looks as if I have applied lipstick, although it is noticeably fading. In short, I am impressed. This is a lipstick you apply with an applicator, more a lip liquid than a lipstick. There is no stick. The top has an applicator, dip it in and sculpt your lips. And it is easier to define shape than just from a stick.Surprisingly I had no issues with lipstick appearing on my teeth by the time I got to work. It has a matt finish (sorry, I know some people like gloss, but I think I'm getting a bit old for pouty gloss lips....), which looks very professional. I was wearing this to work. It was a bold colour choice, but worked well.I am very impressed with this. I do wear a lot of lipstick, but this one is going to be a firm favourite. I love the way it lasts, and I loved the colour.

I am reviewing the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor™. Here are my thoughts:^^ The Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor™ is a lovely natural pale pink colour, that actually comes out a pinky peach when on.^^ It glides on with the lip applicator. The tip is one of those plastic wands that is flat, and covered with a sponge layer, so it is soft and gentle to apply.^^ Tastes quite nice, too. Has almost a strawberry smell, or at least it is very similar. ^^ The container is actually quite sleek, and oval shaped - like a round lipstick slightly flattened.^^ The silver looking lid unscrews, and this is where the lipstick wand is attached.^^ I'd call this more of a lip gloss than a lipstick. But yes,it does come out quite matte looking, with a lip gloss feel.^^ It softens the lips without feeling too sticky. In fact, after it sinks in I'd say my lips feel quite velvety. Rather nice!Overall:I love the shape and size of this lip gloss. The Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor™ is very smart and modern looking. The colour "Seduction" is just me. Very natural looking. Not overly bright for a pink; a good work colour.

This looks classy and smells lovely and fruity; I can't quite make out the scent, but it's a bit berry like, a bit cherry like...The top unscrews to reveal a sponge wand with enough lippie on it to coat at least one lip generously, but I needed a couple of coats, as this doesn't go on very easily and looks a bit patchy until it dries out - the same happened with the Seduction shade. It dries fairly quickly, but neither shade is what I'd call matte. The Passion shade dries into a deep red, slightly glossy lip tint that lasts and lasts, as it stained my lips; about 6hrs later, with endless cups of hot drink, chilled water (all out of plastic cups), lunch and snacks, I ended up having to scrub the remains off.The Seduction shade was more glossy, and messier to apply, as it seemed more liquid and I couldn't outline my lips properly and it bled over the outside of my lips. This shade came off a lot quicker and easier than the Passion shade (possibly due to the lighter pigment) and I had to reapply it after a salad lunch.Overall, these products look great, don't dry out the lips, but aren't matte. At all.

Ah, lipgloss. That sticky concoction that made my lips shiny, but ultimately annoying on a windy day. Wind + hair = disaster. It also began to look really cheap and nasty as the years went on, thanks to the trends of the early millenium, and being a teenager. This product is a bit different - it's a lip velvet, but essentially a lipgloss. The packaging is a lovely frosted glass with a silver lid, and the product is applied using a lipgloss sponge wand - the lip velvet does smell, but thankfully not of chemicals - it smells sweet and fruity. I'm not yet sold on whether I like it, but it's better than some of the other lip products I've tried. It's easy to apply the product too - the lipgloss is silky and highly pigmented and doesn't take much to coat your lips. It comes with a matte finish, even better. The colour I've got is called Seduction, which is a nude pink shade. It's very close to my own lip colour and looks really nice - great for a natural look. It's not sticky either, which is a bonus. This may well be the only lipgloss I've tried that I didn't hate - a high accolade indeed!

This lipstick takes a lot of time and care to apply, because it is absolutely packed with pigment. Initially it has the texture of a gloss, but if you put it on as thickly as you would with a gloss, the Passion shade come out a dark plum colour. You need to spread it out carefully to get an even colour, and you can either smudge it for a lighter shade, or make it very bright. You need to be ever so careful around the lipline, but once you've taken the time to put it on, it's a fantastic colour with a lot of impact. It made my lips look fuller and very glamorous, and it lasts very well, even when you're drinking. I applied it about 8pm before a night out, and when I woke up in the morning I still had a trace of colour.I put a balm over the top as I don't like completely matt colour, but without that it might be slightly drying. Although nowhere near as bad as the long lasting lipcolours of the past. Also, as other have said it tastes very nice. I've tested loads of different lipsticks recently for Vine, and this is one of my favourites. The other one I found especially notable was

I’ve never really been a huge fan of lipstick as I feel that it never really looks right on me. Instead, I tend to go for lip balms. The Revlon Ultra Matt lip colour for me, combines the best of both a lipstick and a lip balm in one product.First, there is a twist top from which you pull out the flat, sponge-like brush. You can easily scrape off the excess to have as much colour as you like before applying to your lips. The colour glides on well and is a really nice consistency. I got the colour ‘Seduction’ which is perfect for my pale complexion as it’s pink and rosy without being too obvious. You only need one swipe of the brush and the colour is there and you’re ready to go.I found that the colour lasted a good amount of time but didn’t feel heavy or claggy at any time.Easy to pop in your bag when you’re out and about - you also have the added bonus that with the twist top, the lid isn’t going to come off in your bag ruining your bag or your lipstick.Overall, this is a great lip colour and I can see this becoming a staple in my make-up kit from now on. 5 stars.

This lip colour smells lovely and goes on really smoothly, giving full, even coverage in a matter of seconds. It feels really nourishing once on, like having a very moisturising lip balm on (but with loads of colour!). The applicator is easy to use, and it was easy to control how to put the colour on (very important, as the colour Passion is a very strong pinky red and I didn't want any mistakes). The colour looked good on, and the coverage was very even. The description says it's a matte colour, which is only true in that it's not a gloss, because it actually gives you a kind of dewy finish and not the dry coverage of a lip stain. (Having said that, after I rubbed off the lip colour during lunch I found a nice stain on my lips that would have looked OK with just a clear gloss on top.)Overall, this lip colour (can I just call it a lipstick?!) is a lovely colour and feels extremely comfortable on the lips. It's easy to use and smells scrumptious too!

I’m always unsure about matte lipsticks because I don’t have really plump lips and find that a lot of lipsticks will gather in the creases. I also wasn’t sure about the colour ‘Seduction’ as I was worried it would be a bit too orange for my skintone but I needn’t have worried as it is quite natural looking – my lips but better. The packaging isn’t that great quality but the wand makes it easy to apply without putting too much of the product on the sponge which I do like.Even though it is matte, it’s not overly drying on the lips – it feels very creamy but because it’s not too different in tone from my lips, wears really nicely too.I do have to reapply a couple of times in the day and there can be some transfer onto teeth but overall for a very natural every day lipstick, I do like it. The lipstick certainly has a scent to it when you first apply – very much like strawberries and cream but it soon disappears.

Very matte coral pink, which gives your lips a subtle wash of colour. Although it looks like a lip gloss it is actually more of a 'lipstick' effect product - not at all goopy or shiny. Its very moisturising despite being matte, and when it wears off still leaves a hint of colour as it stains your lips. I really love the packaging, which is a tactile squished cylinder shape and made of translucent plastic that looks like frosted glass, so you can see the colour of the product inside. The lid is a dull silver colour, a very attractive product. Id say this colour 'Seduction' would suit warmer skin tones as there is no blues in it, it is more of a coral. The applicator wasnt great however, and its hard to be accurate with it, although possible. I would have preferred a bullet shaped applicator or brush.Overall I like this product and think it would be a good useful every day colour for work.

This is a lip stick which is presented more like lip gloss with a fuzzy applicator. Its quite gloopy and highly pigmented. I found it quite hard to get a neat line with applicator (it also tickled) a lip brush would be better for accurate application. It's a deep red and although it says matt its not without shine, but is not sparkly. The glossy bit does come off as normal with eating and drinking but the colour does stain the lips for quite period. The colour looks through the container that it should be a raspberry flavour, its not although it does have a flavour/smell, cant say I like it but it does go off after a bit.The ingredients are listed on the pack and include: dimethocone, isohxadecane, methylmethacrylate cross polymer, shea butter, kaolin, bismuthoxychloride, benzoic acid, sodium saccharin, limolene, linalool, and a load of colours which may include lakes and iron oxides.

This colour is gorgeous! It's a sort of berry red which suits my brunette, brown eyes, olive skin colouring well. It applies like a gloss, with a wand but goes on matt instead of gloss. You need to be quite precise putting it on as it isn't very forgiving if you're slap-dash but when it's on, it's amazing dramatic colour. It's nourishing, not drying and it doesn't bleed.I put it on about 6 hours ago, in which time I have eaten a meal and had a cup of tea and it has stayed on! The colour isn't quite as dramatic as it was when I put it on, but it's still obviously there and the colour is still strong.I doubt you would get away with this without a fully made up face-it's so dramatic,it would look like the rest of you was underdone! One star removed for the price, which I think is a little higher than it should be considering the brand and amount it contains.

I love the ease this goes on with the sponge applicator. It's easy to apply without smearing, even on the corners of the mouth and the "bow" portion at the top of the mouth. It is a lovely shade of claret and it quickly sets into a matte finish that has the barest hint of gloss to it. I put it out before going out with my son to coffee, then shopping, followed by a meal out. I did not have to reapply to combat fade and found I had to remove it using a gentle make-up remover. Even then, a bit of rosy stain was left behind on my lips, where the pigment had soaked in. It wasn't enough to rub off on anything and come morning, it had finished wearing off. Due to the staining nature of the gloss,I advise being careful to never get this on clothing.
