My SECOND bf109 G-10.... Very nice kit to work on. The amount of "aftermarket" bits & bobs that are available make it too much of a temptation not to take advantage of them; especially some of the different styles of 'weighted wheels'. I can think of lots worse reasons to buy two of a really nice model. This one is a pleasure to have on my bench.Bought at the same time as my second G-10, is my FIRST G-6 in this scale from Revell. Wow. Two different styles of 'Erla' canopy plus one of the earlier 'framed' type. Two types of narrow wheels. Two types of gun-sight. Two types of drop-tank. An 'early' or 'late' tail... Lots of features that are shared with the G-10.The instruction sheet does hit you in the face with an awful lot of options that need thinking about before building commences.. Though I see it as a chance to research which particular aircraft you fancy. Different factories also had their own particular way of producing an aircraft ; yet another reason to do some hunting through books.... and then there's the colour scheme. There is a beautifully preserved G-6 in an Australian museum, still in its ORIGINAL paint. If I had unlimited display space I swear Revell's 1/32 scale range of bf109s could keep me occupied for a good few years... Luckily (?) I don't; so carefull choosing of subjects has to be the thing. With that... you can't go far wrong with either of these aircraft, be it for a week-end build or for something more expansive. The price alone is rediculously reasonable. Take your time and think it though... you won't be disappointed.

A well-researched model and light years ahead of Revell's '109 of the same scale which dates from the late sixties/early seventies - but then one would expect 40 years worth of improved model production techniques to show. The '109 is one of the iconic aircraft of the twentieth century with a huge number of publications devoted to all its variants and finishes and Revell has made good use of this material. No model is perfect and if you really want to be nit-picking then minor faults can be found - but they really are minor and the kit represents very good value for money; in real terms this kit is actually cheaper than its 40 year old incarnation was in 1972!If you're going to make a proper job of it then there are weeks and weeks of spare time activity contained in its box. Speaking of the box, one real criticism - please Revell STOP USING THOSE HORRIBLE SIDE-OPENING BOXES - they are useless for storing completed sub assemblies and seem specially designed to damage anything being emptied out of them; a strong top-opening box would be so much better - otherwise a well-deserved 5 stars.

On the whole a well detailed model with panel lines engraved to just the right degree. Unlike some other Revell 1/32 offerings, there is no engine, no removable panels to reveal details and no pilot figure. The decals are abundant (I lost count at around 70 for the early version of the G6) and of good quality, however swastikas for the tail fin are not included and will need to be bought from a specialist supplier. Sadly, the instructions contain a number of mistakes and are unclear in other places. Two variants are offered: early and late versions of the G6 model. In some places there is a choice of two parts. Some show which part is for which version but others give you an option but no information about what the option relates to.Also, the order of of actions to be taken is not always the best so some care is needed.Overall, for the experienced modeller this kit represents good value for money.

This is a beautifully engineered kit and as good if not better than many of the models offered by Tamiya but at a fraction of the price. The detail is astounding and the pieces fit together well. This is the beauty of a 1:32 rather than the smaller scales. My only criticism is to do with the instructions. The kit is made up of a couple of hundred individual pieces on about 17 frames. The pieces are scattered randomly on the frames so to find piece 73 you have to look all 17 frames in the instructions to find it! After a while this becomes very irritating and as at least one piece has been numbered wrongly can be very frustrating. If only Revell had put the frame Letter in front of the number it would have been so much easier.A73 would mean that part 73 would be on frame A. Simple. Come on Revell you have made a superlative model. Just sort out the instructions!

This is a big kit and you get a lot for your money. The parts are quite well moulded with good surface detail, and they generally fit together well. The negatives for me are:1. The side opening box. Not sure why Revell stick with this as it's a lot less convenient and I'd guess it saves them about 10p per kit.2. The instructions are ok but don't specify which sprue the parts are on so you have to search through all of them which quickly gets tiresome, it would be very easy to write 'a25' instead of '25' which would completely solve this.3. A lot of flash and sink marks on some parts which whilst not disastrous is disappointing for a new tooling. All that said this kit is a fraction of the cost of competitors'1/32 kits so some compromises are to be expected and I would certainly recommend for the more experienced modeller.

Overall it’s a very affordable model kit for this scale. Very good details inside the cockpit but some parts broke when detaching from the sprue because of their size.. instructions are quite messy as they report only the piece number but not which sprue they belong to. Also few pieces were numbered incorrectly on the instructions. The Letters color code reported a color which is not is not described in the instructions. Instructions are in black and white and, due to the several shades of grey used, additional researches on the web had to be done to reproduce the painting of the fuselage correctly. Overall a good model but lots of additional work needed to complete the job (drilling, pre masking, pre coloring parts which is all not mentioned in the instructions) .

Yes, it has been too long opening new boxes for various described Revell 1/32nd 109Fs or Gs and finding the same old 1960s kit with the confused identity (though, it must be said, sometimes discovering a cut price Hasegawa moulding) and the most recent issue of the '109F' in the 'classic kit' guise finally put it where it belongs. The new kit is immeasurably better in every respect, and is generally available cheaper than the last issue of the old F. No engine is included, but the 'after sales' accessories for this kit will soon include options. The old kit had a basic block and engine bearers - very impressive at the time - but now known to be inaccurate for any of the sub-types the kit wasmarketed as.

This is a well-engineered, re-tooled kit that offers the option to model early- (glasshouse canopy), and late-version (Erla canopy/ tall rudder/ tailwheel ) Bf109G-6s. The Erla JG5 (Norway) version has a quite attractive decal/ colour scheme; but there are many alternative 1/32nd scale decal sets out there online, from e.g., Hannants Ltd. Extensively detailed interior and overall looks the biz. Recommended.

Second time i have bought this model recently. Accident resulting in lots of snapped parts first time! Great model. Only slight criticism is that some of the clear parts for inside cockpit are very brittle, take care when taking off the sprue. Also the parts are all over the place on different sprues! C'mon Tamiya please help but putting a letter before the part no in the instructions!

Many years ago Revell produced a 1/48 109 and it was really good. This time they have produced a winner. The parts are sharp and clear and fit well. There is a multitude of parts which can produce two versions - no need to hit the spares box. The icing on the cake is the so-called Galland Hood. This kit is a gem and a brilliant EBay buy - I think I'll buy another!

I was surprised at this Revel kit, usually there are gaps, I'll fitting parts etc, but this model kit went together with no problems, no fillers needed, the paint schemes given are ok and I used one of these, plenty of transfers are on the sheet to give more details to the model. To conclude a great kit

The Messerschmitt was a main force of world war 2, A German airplane made to respond to our spitfire. The model that you can see is made by revel and is made of plastic and if your into model making especially airplanes this is one you need its a wonderful plane, you will love it.

Excellent build with good detail. Images of my finished model can be seen at rossmodels.blogspot.org. Model has a moving propeller and contains decals for two models and gives options for open or clossed canopy. (Does not include swastikas as with all Revell kits)

This kit was released in 2013 then followed by the G10 kit in 2014. Usual open end revell box. Never a fan of this type. The plastic is clean with no flash. Nice decals by revell of Italy. So maybe Catogragh. Either early or late versions can be built.

Really impressed with the scale and quality of this kit for the money charged. I believe this is a new tooled kit and it shows.Recommended for all fans of the larger aircraft and the BF-109 in general.
