The Me262 "Schwalbe" was the world's first operational jet fighter. Its performance and armament gave it a huge advantage over contemporary Allied fighters, including the Gloster Meteor, and the type was attributed with some 550 kills. It suffered from a number of crippling setbacks: maintenance problems and fuel shortages during the latter stages of the war reduced its operational availability and Allied tactics were adapted to target the Me262 ruthlessly on the ground.I do like Revell kits a lot. I suspect that a casual or first-time modeller, looking for a model kit will probably plump for Airfix on the basis of brand-familiarity. But, really, Revell produces better quality kits (and probably has a wider range as well)

This model is small but so is the price. The parts fit together well enough (some parts needed a little trimming but not a problem. Wings required a little work to trim to a perfect fit. The canopy, as other reviewers indicated, is very basic and didn't fit very well. If you are throwing the kit together for fun, you won't care that much. If you are more serious about the finished built quality you can fill gaps and get a satisfactory result. There is no pilot figure and the decals do not include a swastika which almost all images of ME262 aircraft of the time show. The decals sheet was torn when I got it but when communicated to the seller, I got a complete replacement kit for free in perfect condition!

Excellent kit - apart from the tragically deformed canopy 'clear' part..!! Oh, and Revell really should supply the lower wing section with the parts cutout for the wheel-wells too...other than these issues, a great kit that makes up into a lovely looking model (as long as you can find a decent cockpit canopy part ;) ).

Very nice model, however, the model is not well balanced and is back heavy resulting in the aircraft not sitting on the nose wheel. Can be overcome by adding additional weights inside the cockpit or glueing/blue tacing the nose wheel down.

This is overall a good kit, easy build but well detailed, decals are good but no swastikas as usual. The canopy is pretty poor however, not particularly clear or detailled which lets the kit down.

Always been interested in the advances's in the German race to get jets in the air, this model is nicely detailed, goes together nicely, nice cockpit detail and looks great when finished.

it looks really good and the instructions were really easy and simple to follow.it didn't take long to make either

good model havnt done the airfix version but would guess its prob a little better for same ££££
