Based on the fairly average (but entertaining) film, the game actually takes you where the posters and trailers promised - right into the heart of the battles between the remaining human forces and dragons. Playing as the humans is a full-on action experience, the screen frequently rocked by massive explosions from the near-constant bombardment, with varied tasks such as fire-fighting and rescue missions to break up the relentless nature of the killing. You're rarely alone - your companion troops fight independently and supply you with covering fire (and it's quite useful to have a helicopter drench you in water when set on fire!) But the game really comes into its own when letting you control the dragons: the sense of power is awesome, and toasting vehicles, then picking up the hapless infantry and dropping them from great heights to a (very) bloody death takes some beating in the fun stakes! However, the game suffers from a cumbersome control system, an incomprehensive radar display (which, considering the intensity of the action, is a significant problem), and an extremely harsh scoring system that can leave you, despite having fulfilled all your mission objectives, branded a "moving target". Overall, the game plays fine and boasts decent graphics for the PS2, and offers a cinematic and involving experience, which should keep hardcore gamers quiet for maybe twenty minutes, and keeps the rest of us mortals happy for quite a lot longer.

With the current Ark Survival and Primal Carnage popularity on YouTube, this game fits right in with the dinosaur and Wyvern craze! Just like in the live movie, this game is about a near future date where we find we should not mess with nature, just like in Jurassic Park but in this case we bring dragons back from extinction. WE LOSE. Humans now live in what looks like a post-nuclear war world but without the radiation and fallout. This game is all about action and combat! You even have your choice of being human and armed to the teeth or being a dragon(Wyvern for all us Ark Survival fans!) out to destroy all it sees with size and flame! There is nothing in this game that your average teen cannot handle in ratings.Enjoy!
