NFSU2 is simply a brilliant and outstanding street racing game, I have the first one, that was good, but this, bigger, better and FASTER!EA Games have made a brilliant product to be both enjoyed and embraced by all NFSU fans, the cars are great and fast and the challenges are possibly medium hard and challenging. The features are as follows, these are all fun and some fans will want to know,-Free Roaming City (It's massive and you can explore all of it whilst driving to a race).-Emergent Gameplay (Make a name for yourself in the underground, sign racing contracts, I, right now, have signed a deal with SPARCO, still coolio!)-New gameplay Modes (URL and Street X are both fast and furious challenges, drift and drag competitions are very well crafted by the makers of this game).-Performance Tuning (Go there regulary to check out your car's speed, endurance and ability. No complaints, of course, this is a classic).-The Hottest Cars (All the best tuner cars from Mitsubishi Motors, Nissan and Toyota to Ford and Volkswagen, if they're hot on the road, they're in!)Unlimited Visual Customisation (Lets your car look like a car of the future for sure!)Online (play other racers online with the new and untarnished ETHERNET connection for the PLAYSTAION 2).Brilliant features, amazing challenges, fanastic street racing, NFSU2 will go down as one of the most stunning, enthralling and most of all fastest street racing EA games of the millenium, and BUY THIS NOW or be a stupid, ignorant and boring video gamer, BUY THIS! £££~Calum Fairweather (NFSU FAN)

Hey hey! here it is finaly, another highly anticipated game. As you can probably tell i am doing a review of each big game release of the year....ish....well the one's i like anyway lol.I bought need for speed underground some time ago and i was unexpectedly blown away, i really do love modding cars to the extreme, so the idea of a sequel to the game was music to my ears. However i was a little cautious whilst buying the game, i was worried it wasnt going to be very good due to some bad reviews i have read. But once again those reviews were wrong, this game is brilliant. It is much better then the original which i thought would be hard to beat, i think the open city to explore is a brilliant touch and gives you a bigger sense of freedom. The graphics are really beautiful and the gameplay is smooth and very fun. Once again all the different types of races have been pulled off perfectly, drag being my personal fave.Thankyou EA games for making this, in my opinion it was an appology for Burnout 3. Which leads me to the games soundtrack...NFSUG2 has a brilliant soundtrack, it just suits street racing so well, the highlight being 'Spiderbait: Black betty' genius!Looks like another great game blockbuster, unlike Burnout 3 and Halo 2, which have been slight dissopointments. From now on i will put a chart at the bottom of my reviews, thanks for reading!Blockbusting games:Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas = 10Halo 2 = 7Burnout 3 = 6Need for Speed: UG2 = 9Chronicles of Riddick = 10

I've finished NFS Most Wanted, Carbon and Undercover and am about halfway through NFS Underground 2. I wasn't sure about it at first as the car felt a bit 'jerky', but given that it's older than the others, I decided to keep going. Now that I have won a few races and been able to upgrade it I have found the driving experience great fun. I do miss how well the 'real life' interactions with the various characters are like in the three games I've just mentioned, but then again, I am going backwards! The streets and courses are great fun, but the miriad of highway/motorway intersections in part of the city is pretty confusing, especially when trying to get to a photoshoot for a car magazine in time, but that's all part of the fun. It did make me smile when one of the areas turned out to be Griffin Park Observatory in LA as I've been there many times! There are also various garages and visual areas to find by heading for the various colored light spots also there are hidden spots where you can get cash when you drive through the green highlight with a cash symbol. You also get to race other street racers off the cuff if you find yourself near them as you drive around, winning a little more cash. The only reason I have given it 4 stars is because I wish it had some daylight races as they're all night-time (so far) and it does seem you have to be an actual mechanic to understand the engine/performance tuning section, but I seem to be ok without it.All in all it's great fun.

yup..this is defo better than the first NFS underground. The introduction of the free roaming is cool. You can now pull up next to any other racers you meet on the road when you are going to events and challenge them to a one on one...no set route, just get in front and they have to chase you.. get far enough in front and you win..simple. The music is good, the upgrades are just silly, soooo many. A couple of new races modes like street X and the underground racing league... its all good. Its one of the few racing games where you actually feel like you are in control of the car... like in GTA.. its good but didnt it take you all a while to get used to the fact the cars wont go round corners and the brakes only seem to work in straight lines?NFS cars stick to the road and this makes the game much better than the rest. Im not interested in all that technical mumbo jumbo about graphics and AI engines.. whatever. This games looks good, plays good and sounds good. Sure there are one or two funny little bugs but come on.. who really cares about that. Im just waiting for the train-spotters out there to start bangin on about the faults in the games... well this game is excellent.. Works for me....as we all know this is basically the game version of the fast and the furious.. in the opening sequence there is even a bald geezer that bears a striking resemblance to Vin Diesel..Coincidence???..naaa. Bottom line: If you like street racing games.. get this...nuff said!

Need for Speed Underground was released more than a year ago, it wasn't the best game in the world but it was still good. Recently, EA games, have unleashed their fury, after countless efforts to create a monster game, they have finally released a proper classic. Need for speed underground 2!!!!!!The game starts when this 'woman' named Rachel, begins talking about the street racing events being held. Then you find yourself in Rachel's really sweet car. You are then given a choice. You can either go back to your garage or do a couple of races. Lets just say you decide to go and take part in some races. There are a number of courses including, Sprint, Drift, Drag, Circuit, Street x and URL (underground racing league). You can participate in all of these races in multiplayer. If you enjoy customizing cars then you can customize whichever car you've unlocked in career mode and then race them in multiplayer.A great new feature EA have included with the game is being able to explore the city and do what ever race you like. It's a tiny bit like GTA except your car has more features to it.All in all it's a fast and furious driving game where you can customize your car with nitrous oxide and put the pedal to the metal.

Incredible!I played the first NFSU, and found it pretty boring and linear, but after recieving this game for christmas and playing it for hours and hours, I definetly think this game is much better than the original. Even without online capabilities (I don't have broadband) This game's single player is excellent, and the fact that if a friend comes over, has the game, and brings his (or her) memory card, they can use thier own car to race. The idea you have to find hiden shops and that there are hidden races and hidden money mean that as well as doing all the races shown on the minimap, there are hidden races and random bits of money lying about, as well as hidden shops that enable even more unlocks! All of the stuff takes ages to unlock. Overall i would definetly give this game 9 out of 10, because i wish the CPU's AI enabled them to challenge you to races. Buy it Now!

I recently played a demo of this game. It is basically the same as need for speed 1, and if like me you enjoyed number 1...this game will not be a dissapointment. There are more cars, more body parts and you can even customise the interior of your chosen vehicle. The city is free roaming so you can drive anywhere and even race at any time. This is achieved by driving up alongside another racer and tapping up or down on the dpad. This activates the race and your objective is to get ahead of the opponent, and then drive anywhere you like, as long as you lose the guy whos racing you. Drag, circuit and Drift all return. I didnt give this a 5 because it is basically the same as the original, and the free roaming city doesn't really work. However if your looking for more of the same then this game deserves a 5 and your attention. an excelent purchase!

After being disappointed by the original Need For Speed: Underground game, due to its lack of the ability to keep playing once completed, when i heard of the new game, i wasn't too bothered. around 2 months after the release date my friend had the game so i had a play, and i must say, its an absolutely outstanding game, the huge range of parts is awesome, the feel of driving and the graphics are amazing, the amount of things to do is amazing and the organic drifting is so fun its unbelievable... Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and The Getaway: Black Monday have been knocked to the bottom of the pile since i received my copy of this game. It is a must buy for anyone, and i'd say worthy of more than a 5 star!

Last year, EA took its long-running Need for Speed series in an exciting new direction with the release of Need for Speed Underground, a racing game that focused on making the import tuner scene the star of its arcade-style racing show. The game worked really well, combining the right level of car customization with good track design, challenging opponents, and impressive graphical effects. Now, one year later, a sequel is on the streets, adding some new race types and a big, open city to cruise around. The actual racing in Need for Speed Underground 2 is still pretty good, but unfortunately most of the stuff you do in between races keeps you away from the game's best moments.

I really like this game, I like the tracks; the amount of open road; the lack of police; the music; the tuning and the cars. The speed is good but the main problem is that it is not a great sim, I believe that this is a great game, and would deserve 5 stars, as a laid-back racer but as a good racing sim it is slightly lacking and I prefer Gran Turismo for the simulation experience. You can spend some enjoyable time just modifying cars before you even start the career mode. You should definitely consider what sort of racing game you actually want as if you like real sims you need something more like Gran Turismo or F1 Championship Edition for PS3.Hope this helps you :)

5.1.2005

this is by FAR the best racing game i have ever played. Sure, theres a glitch where you have to drave an extra 5 miles, but that flies at 150 mph. If you're starting, start on easy and learn how to powerslide, shift, and develop your own techniques .The in-game tips you recieve are really helpful and if you listen to them you will end up beating any race on any diffuculty. It's also easy to unlock parts for your cars.Stop rating games compared to a perfect game, every game has bugs and glitches. One thing better than nfsu 1 is when you unlock a new set of parts (such as front bumpers) you have unlocked all of the bumpers that you unlocked instead of the one you bought.

What a result.... For all of you that thought Need for Speed Underground was good, get ready to be amazed with NSU 2.The gameplay is far better than the old game as you are able to cruise around the city (Just like GTA) and challange people for races or turn up to designated areas for Circuit,Drag,Drift and Sprint races. You can even race on the track as well as the streets. The mods for the cars are far better than before and before you know it, you have enough cash to turn your car into a fully blown Street Fighter. The game has a good story line and you can own more than one car.A definate game for any street racer or speed king.See you on the streets......

I played through the first NFS:U from start to finish 5 times, because of the high replayability. I loved the original and was looking forward to the sequel, and let me tell you I was not disappointed. The structure of the gameplay is a leap and bound above the original and the selection of vehicles is amazing, but the problem with NFSU2 is that it has no replay value as far as I can see, because when it is complete, you have all the parts, even unique ones... so you needn't bother playing through again to see the new parts! besides this factor, the game is a huge improvement over the already wonderful NFS:U. Anyone who enjoyed the first will love the second.
