I bought this to replace an old external hard drive, which was still working but was bulky and slow compared to this USB drive. I was initially drawn to this PNY unit simply because it was one of the cheapest 256GB drives available at the time. I wasn't really bothered by looks or sturdiness, but it's actually a good looking drive, and feels well built. With the sliding feature, there's no cap to lose, which is great. Some of the other capless sliding drives I've tried in the past seem a little flimsy, but not this one. Also the USB 3.0 support is great, as given the capacity of the drive, ideally you don't want to be restricted to USB 2.0 transfer speeds.

I bought this to use with Fujitsu's Mesh WiFi system which gives you the option to set-up your own private cloud storage that can be accessed from anywhere in the world. This stick provides plenty of storage at a reasonable price point.So why only 4 stars? The design and layout of the stick means that it can be very dificult to use in a confined space and I'm not sure how robust the sliding cover will prove to be over time. In the end I had to use this stick with a short USB cable to overcome this issue.

As the earlier red and grey PNY 256 GB models I have, this is also an excellent piece of kit but with the added advantage that it is only about two thirds the volume of the older model. Speed is at least equal to my older models depending on the exact port I use on any of my machines and on my fastest USB 3 port does appear maybe 10% faster than the earlier model. Though I haven't measured it exactly, only a by the eye test copying the same few large files from the laptop to both in turn.

I got this to replace my failing lexar usb. Found this one when it was on offer so the price was really good. Otherwise it is still very competitively priced regardless. Easy to use just plug and play. Speed is fast for data transfer in regards to pictures and videos.I would recommend this.

Don't know what more to say other it works as you would expect. I order three of these in total and the two minor niggles are that the sleeve on the outside is sometimes awkward to pull back. and for some reason the actual usb plug seems to upside down in two of them.

very pleased with the speed this drive loads photos and videos, and is as it says 256gb drive which I wasn't sure for the price it was.I will probably buy another one as it is a good price and stores a lot more than I expected ie it is 256gb less formatting

It does what it's meant to! Mainly used for 1080p video storage and often played back via USB2 on a fairly basic Android tablet there are no detectable speed problems. File transfer on USB3 from a Surface Pro 4 is excellent, as expected.

Excellent usb 256gb stick for 60£. Fast, reliable and stable.Update, June 2018: After 1 year of intensive use, this thing is performing like new.Best usb drive of the 8 drives I had in the last 15 years.

Needed a flash drive at short-ish notice, didn't want to pay ridiculous high street prices but wanted reasonable quality. This ticked all of the boxes and arrived the next day too. Quite happy with it.

Amazing price for such a large capacity flash drive. Get some very good transfer speeds and work faultlessly with XP and win7, which isn't the case with all flash drives.

Straightforward to use and with 256GB plenty of storage capacity. The provided infomation recomends using a USB 3.0 conection for the fastest data upload and downloads.
