First time I’ve gone welsh. I’m usually more of a sherry cask finish, speyside kinda guy. But I’ve been branching out for a while now for different expressions and flavour profiles. In rare occasions I’m partial to a peat heavy laphroaig, but sometimes it overpowers the other flavours in the spirit so you can’t appreciate the complexity beyond the smoke bomb. This however is so subtly peaty it allows you to appreciate the other flavours too. For 46% it isn’t harsh in the slightest, barely a heady burn at all, really “smooth” (though I understand that expression means different things to different people). It’s by no means the nicest whiskey(y) I’ve tried, but I’ve still given it 5 stars because I believe it deserves 5 stars relative to its class. It’s not trying to be the best, but as a new(ish) startup trying to deliver an easily drinkable dram without the century old backstory like Scottish distilleries, this spirit is pretty damn decent. Recommended if you want a hint of peat but not wanting an overpowering mouthful of islay dirt. Good job Wales ?

I purchased this when it was on offer att £26. It was a punt at that price having been suggested it by one of my drinking partners. I was not disappointed it has a sweet floral nose to it and when it touched my lips I was hit with a smooth creamy but sweet flavour of fruit and spice. Nothing harsh and extremely drinkable so much that it lasted less than 3 weeks. I have had to apologise to the welsh having discovered they can actually make a really nice whisky .only problem is the bottle is too tall for my drinks cabinetif you like a smooth speyside with a sweet edge you’ll love this and my mate Tony who’s my benchmark in terms of what newcomers will like it’s a ??????????

I'm a big fan of Islay malts so was intrigued to try this whiskey. It has a more delicate flavour than most peat-style malts but I think that's actually a good thing. It is incredibly smooth with an almost sweet finish. This has become one of my favourite whiskies.

Love this. Nice bit of Smokyness but not overpowering. Never had a Welsh whisky before and this hasn’t disappointed. One thing is that it is quite light in colour but I don’t mind that over taste. Would definitely recommend it
