I have had this brush for a few weeks now and I absolutely love it. It was quite a surprise when I opened the box to see all of the kit it comes with. Inside the box you get the handle and 4 different styles of heads to attach to it. The 4 heads are a cross action head, a floss action head, a 3D clean head and a sensitive head. It is great that you get a selection of heads to try as it gives you the opportunity to test which one is most suitable for you. I haven't tried all of them sufficiently yet to decide on my favourite but I am currently erring toward the cross action. As well as the actual toothbrush included inside of the box is a Smart Guide which you use in your bathroom to compliment the brush. It has a brushing timer on to ensure that you are brushing for the recommended minimum of 2 minutes. It also records where and how you spend your time brushing and if you need to be splitting your time more evenly between the 4 quadrants of your mouth. There is also a notification if you are pressing too hard. This brush uses rechargeable batteries so you get a docking station to charge the toothbrush in which has a space for the spare heads. There is a carry case included for when you go away overnight or on holiday etc which I think is an excellent idea (as you don't want a fluffy toothbrush!)When you first charge the toothbrush it recommends that you do so for 16 hours. I plugged mine in and left it overnight and it was all ready for the next day. Once you have selected and fitted your choice of head you are almost ready to go.This brush has bluetooth connectivity so you can download an app on to your smartphone which communicates with the brush and it stores various data relating to your brushing habits. This is really easy to set-up and you are given step by step instructions on the app. Both the app and the smart guide tell you when you have spent sufficient time brushing in that area and when its time to move on.As well as the sensor on the smart guide there is also a flashing light on the brush itself which tells you if you are pressing too hard and every 30 seconds you get a buzzing sound to indicate that its time to move on. So even if you do not have a smartphone or do not want to install the app you are still able to use the brush as intended. After cleaning my teeth I always make sure to rinse the brush and the head carefully to ensure that any build up of toothpaste etc is removed.I absolutely love the way my teeth feel after I have cleaned with this brush. They just feel so smooth and you can really see the difference. It is very effective and I would highly recommend it to any looking to upgrade or replace their current brush. It looks (and acts) like a very expensive piece of kit! My only criticism if I had to make one would be that its a shame that the body is so slick but the heads are not the same colour so they really stand out. It makes me feel as if I've not bought the official heads and am using an alternative or something. Other than this very minor detail I am very happy indeed!

The latest Oral-B toothbrush is the best I have ever owned (having had 2 of their previous models over many years) and definitely comes with a recommendation from me for anyone wanting to upgrade their current brush.Positives of this model include the multi-functionality, with modes for deep clean, gentle clean, whitening, gum cleaning etc and the fact that the switch for these functions is a separate button to the on/off power button. In the past I have struggled with my gums bleeding, which is why my dentist recommended an electric toothbrush for me in the first place. Because of this I tend to use the gentle/sensitive clean function a lot, and have never once had this issue whilst using it.For anyone having a similar issue, this has certainly done the trick for me so I would recommend trying it yourself. It also leaves teeth feeling really clean, and it is easy to switch to a more intensive cleaning mode for those areas where plaque is more prone to build up. As it is, you can tailor the toothbrushing experience to exactly how you wish. This brush comes with a 2 minute timer included, to ensure you are brushing healthily. One thing I find excellent about this is that if you turn the brush off, which I have done occasionally mid-brush in order to change the head I am using, then the time pauses with you, and so it doesn't reset to a full 2 minute brush time again. The timer is simply for use alongside the brush too and whilst the brush does vibrate every 30 second to allow you to 'change quadrant' and keep aware of the time, it doesn't automatically turn off after 2 minutes is up, and so you can brush for longer if you prefer. There is an excellent range of heads included in the box and so you can sample pretty much the whole Oral-B head range and thus decide which ones are your preference for re-buying.The in-built Bluetooth which allows you to pair the brush with the app is a really interesting feature for this brush and help you to keep on top of your daily dental hygiene more precisely if you so wish. I don't personally use the app most of the time, but it is easy to use and does everything you could want it to, including allowing you to set targets with whitening plans and so on.The only negative I have with this brush is that it's charging cable is equipped with the two pronged plug for a shaver point and so if you don't have one of these in your bathroom then an adaptor is essential to purchase alongside this. This model also has a fairly chunky handle, and so may not be the best for younger teens in terms of comfort when using (it is not recommended for use by those under 12 anyway).Overall this brush is fantastic for ensuring good dental hygiene, with or without the Bluetooth feature. It is a bit on the pricey side, but is worth it as it is the only brush you will need and also comes with a travel case included, which is handy for taking it on the go, meaning you shouldn't need a manual toothbrush ever again.

I decided to order this Oral-B smart series toothbrush because my basic toothbrush was old and the battery was dissipating much faster. I was browsing through Amazon store and came across this daily deal for this smart series toothbrush at a reduction of 78%. I decided to purchase this as it was a offer I could not refuse. when I was unpacking this product there was many pieces in the box, but it was packed securely and well protected. 99% of the items in the box was easy to identify, but there was one particular item that had me puzzled for a short while. I knew it was some sort of stand but couldn’t figure out where it belonged and after a while I realised that it had to be attached to the back of the clock. This particular piece slides into the back of the holder of the clock and then you attach the adhesive pad , So you can stick the clock to a surface of your choice. I have attached two pictures showing you the particular piece I am talking about. The clock has to be in a visible position because it notifies you with a :-) face if you are brushing your teeth correctly and not applying too much pressure and of the modes you have selected plus the time and countdown. Setting the clock time took a bit of perseverance, and the buttons are on the rear where the batteries are before you clip the back on. If you choose to download the Oral-B app this gives you the alternative options to change some settings, and give you notification reminders of when the toothbrush heads have to be changed. Charging this toothbrush took 24 hours, it does have a LED indicator of battery charge. The actual toothbrush has a nice weight and is equally balanced and feels comfortable and well manufactured. The charge point clips into the case where the toothbrush heads are placed. Using this tooth brush my teeth do feel smoother and cleaner and my mouth does feel a lot fresher, so I am well happy with this purchase. There is a couple of negative points in my particular situation, because I am registered blind. But they are very minor as I said I am well satisfied with this purchase the first - point being I would have liked The clock giving some sort of audio notification when to change modes or speak the countdown timer, but the toothbrush does give you an indication of a vibration when to change. The second minor point would be that the toothbrush heads would clip into the case, instead of lying freely. The other positive point I particularly like this as well because the toothbrush Holder comes with a handy travel case when not in use.

Wow, it's like visiting the dentist after every use. Perfect quality and great to use. I highly recommend it, make sure to take advantage of Amazon's free £5 promo code when purchasing £30 Amazon Gift Cards (ends 18 June 2017), that will shave £5.00 off your purchase.Update 15/07/2017:- In addition to its cleaning power, the Oral-B 6500 toothbrush managed to deliver up to 9 days of usage (2 brushes per day 2 – 3 mins each), which is really good.- After using the toothbrush for over a month, I found myself using only one mode, despite having 6 modes. I think because there is no screen to display which mode you are using, I intend to stick with the first one (Daily Clean mode),which is good to be used on a daily basis anyway.- I find both; the small SmartGuide and the Oral-B App are pretty useless. Particularly when you only want to brush your teeth rather than staring into your phone screen. Also you don’t want your phone to end up down the sewer. Furthermore, not using SmartGuide and the Oral-B App may also increase the battery life of your toothbrush (see tips below).Tips:Here’re a few tips you may find useful:1- You can keep your toothbrush clean from any toothpaste residue at all times by simply, removing/washing/drying the brush head and the toothbrush’s top metal head, reassemble and place toothbrush horizontally (see pic), rather than vertically (up right). This way your toothbrush will stay clean from any toothpaste residue, and always looks like new!2- By using the SmartGuide and the Oral-B mobile app, your toothbrush also uses an extra energy to connect to these devices. If you are like me and don’t use these gimmicky accessories, you would be better turning off the Bluetooth on your toothbrush to save some power. You can easily turn the Bluetooth off on your Oral-B Smart Series 6000 / 6500 by following the simple steps below:A- Please press the on/off button and the mode button simultaneously for 3 seconds to disable the interfaces completely (make sure it is 3 seconds).B- You can reactive the Bluetooth anytime, by following the same steps and you will know it is back on when the icon is lit up.I still give the Oral-B Smart Series 6500 ‘5 Stars’ for its cleaning power and design. I highly recommend it, if you can get it for £50 - £70.Update 19/08/2017 - Battery life update with Bluetooth On/OFF:Bluetooth ON: 9 Days of usage (2 brushes per day 2 – 3 mins each)Bluetooth OFF: 15 Days of usage (2 brushes per day 2 – 3 mins each)

While this is at heart the same sort of electric toothbrush Braun has become expert in creating, this one is a bit of a Rolls-Royce model, with several extra features. The handle is significantly chunkier than a standard Oral-B handle, housing a larger battery that lasts for at least ten days (in my experience it actually lasts rather longer). Rather than wraparound blue or pink, this one is much smarter, with black front and back and silver sides. It has Bluetooth, which allows you to monitor your brushing on an included wall-mountable display, and using an app on your smartphone (I use the iPhone variant of the app, but I believe it is available for other phone platforms too). The app lets you configure the handle to offer different brushing programs (there are six, including one for cleaning your tongue). If you press too hard, the brush slows down to save you any possible gum damage. If you press harder a red light comes on, and the smiley face on the wall-mounted display starts looking unhappy. The basic idea of the monitoring software is to encourage you to spend thirty seconds on each quadrant of your mouth. You can adjust the programming, for example if you wear braces. You get a set of four brush heads (Crossaction, FlossAction, 3D White and Sensitive Clean - some of these names are trademarks, but they give you a good idea of what they do). I like the Crosssaction and FlossAction heads best. The charger has a covered holder that can take up to four brush heads, so you can share the handle with other members of your family presumably (I don't share mine). Like all Oral-B electric toothbrushes, the base inductively charges the handle, so there is no exposed metal. The other thing you get is the simplest, but best feature of this toothbrush. It's a plastic travel carry-case, so you can pack the handle and two brush heads safely and hygienically when you go on your travels. And with the larger battery I reckon you'd be pretty safe not taking the charging base unless you plan to be away for more than two weeks. It's not the cheapest electric toothbrush you can buy, and the basic features are the same that you get from even the most basic Oral-B electric toothbrush. However, it is handy to be able to monitor your brushing visually (and review a recent history of your brushing activity) and it is particularly useful to have the travel case and bigger battery if you like to have your creature comforts when you're away from home.

I don't know what I ever did without an electric toothbrush. Nothing, apart from a dental hygienist visit, compares with the just-brushed, super clean feel you get from using one. My brush of choice is a Sonicare one, from another manufacturer, so I was both pleased and intrigued to review this offering from Oral-B to see how it would compare. The Smart Series 6500 certainly is feature rich. It comes with 3 different brush heads, a travel case, a timer/clock, a charging station with a two pin plug (as used in most bathrooms) and the handle itself. The handle features bluetooth connectivity and successfully sends data to a smartphone app on which you can view your brushing habits and get some decent feedback on how you brush, how you should be brushing instead, how long you brushed for and whether you used too much force or not enough force. If you use too much the handle is clever enough to warn you via a light and to reduce the motion of the head to prevent any slight damage to your tooth enamel. In reality, this isn't too much of an issue unless you're the world's strongest person, but it's nice to know and have anyway. The brush has 6 modes of different intensity and length. Personally I like the whitening mode as it feels the most thorough. In all modes though the brush oscillates well and leaves you with the post-dentist feeling that is so nice and refreshing. Gaps between teeth and along the gumline are all properly reached and all in all it is an excellent clean. Compared to my Sonicare brush I would say that this offers equal levels of cleanliness and care, even though it operates in a different way.The travel case is handy and the various heads are all good and useful. Even the timer, which is of limited value I'd say overall, doubles up as a handy bathroom clock! All in all then this is an excellent brush as part of an excellent, premium package. There is just one, star-losing downside though...In use I've found a single charge of the battery lasts just under or exactly, a week. This compared to the 3 weeks or so for my Sonicare brush. I realise that if you use the charging base and store the brush in it, this might not be a massive issue. But, in the grand scheme of things a week's worth of juice is not that great compared to the competition. If they could nail the battery life, this would easily be a 5 star, quality, product. And, if you can live with a week between charges, hit the buy button. You won't regret it.

I want to do this toothbrush justice by being as thorough as possible because I think it must be the best toothbrush on the market!Appearance: Sleek, modern and with blue lights.Bluetooth: "Why would you need Bluetooth?" Well my husband can be a tad neglectful of brushing his teeth. Now things have changed. As a bit of a tech/geek the idea of a Bluetooth toothbrush had him at hello! The Bluetooth connects with your phone or iPad /tablet as soon as it is lifted from the charger base. It's very simple to connect. The APP: Clear, modern and in keeping with the black of the toothbrush. The achievements on the APP have got my hubby hooked and I think he wants to gain all of the 'Trophies'of which there are tonnes! The App also has a timer, Dental Care Journeys (which deal with specific issues), Activity Tracker (time, checks to show you flossed, cleaned tongue etc) and a whole heap more.Charging: the initial charge is 24 hours but after the toothbrush sits easily on its charger base which also includes a section to hold your toothbrush heads. The toothbrush remains topped up and indicator lights on the front clearly show its charging.Brushing: The feel of this toothbrush is fantastic! With six settings, different times, cleaning by quadrant, it is just brilliant. Highlighting if you are being too rough so that you get the best from your brush heads and don't hurt your gums is great as I have a habit of pushing too hard. The smiley face soon shows you whether you are applying too much pressure.Overall impression: I have really noticed a difference this week especially around the lower teeth where they join my gums, the plaque or slight staining there has almost gone already!Love this toothbrush, a pleasure to use, I wouldn't switch from Oral B again. The downside is the cost of the replacement heads, some can as much as £5 each at Boots eg Floss action, the 3D White and Cross Action heads are currently £11.99 for 4 heads (usually £17.99). However when only replacing every 3 months this does not seem too bad given the results I am getting!I have also been using Oral B 3D whitening toothpaste and the two working together are making a truly significant difference. Despite the price of this brush I can 100% recommend it.

A toothbrush with bluetooth might well seem an over-engineering step too far but, actually, having used one for a while and made the switch from an oral-b brush with integrated timer, it's actually a great way of making sure you stick to the discipline of brushing your teeth for 2 mins and it offers more modes of brushing than more basic brushes, giving you the option to use the brush in polishing, sensitive, deep clean, tongue and daily clean mode. It's really simple to use and you can keep track of your brushing either via the wireless timer or by installing the app it comes with. I've done both but have to confess that I find the app a step too far as it's a bit naggy - the visual timer isgreat though and it shows you which quadrant you should be concentrating on and how long you have brushed your teeth for.The brush does take a long time to charge initially, but I find a charge lasts a full week - I can get away with taking it on holiday without recharging - just. It's not over loud, although this model is more bulky to hold than less complex brush in the range. You get a range of different brush heads with this set, from gentle to flossing and cross hatch which does mean that you can work out which work best for you, and there's also a storage box which slots onto the charger. You will need a shaver point to charge, or to buy an adapter plug (under a pound from my local supermarket). The brush also comes with a travel box so you can take it away hygienically - handy.I do like the look of the silver timer which you can fix to the wall (fitting supplied) and the whole thing is well made. Having a warning light to let you know if you are brushing too hard is a plus too, and also the buttons are well placed for easily scrolling through the different functions. I find it really easy to use and it slipped seamlessly into my daily routine from day one.I should say that this toothbrush has nearly the same functionality as

I was really excited when I was given the opportunity to try out the Oral B SmartSeries 6500 Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush with Bluetooth (I really should get out more). Not only because I was interested to see how far products had changed since I purchased my last electric brush a few years ago, but also because I had literally no idea why you would need Bluetooth on your toothbrush?!I've been using the brush for about a month now, so The big question is : do I need Bluetooth on my toothbrush. Honestly? No. Do I like having Bluetooth on my toothbrush? Yes! I love it! The Bluetooth is used to connect the toothbrush to a timer device that comes supplied with it. This provides feedback at a basic level, for example showing which mode the brush is in and how long you've been brushing. This is quite handy for instant feedback while you brush. But the Bluetooth really comes into its own when you download the app. By doing this you can tailor your brushes settings, set up a program to achieve your goals - such as whiter teeth- and even have your dentist input a program for your specific requirements. The brush looks and feels like a premium product. It's a good weight and well balanced. My only small niggle was that the White brush heads don't match with the rest of the brushes premium feel, but this obviously isn't a deal breaker.I was really impressed with the performance and noticed a difference in the feel of my teeth after brushing right from first use. My teeth felt smoother and much more thoroughly cleaned. The brush is also supplied with alternative heads for polishing and flossing and you can easily switch to the mode for each of these at the push of a button.Overall I have been extremely impressed with the performance of this brush. While the Bluetooth function is not a necessity, it's a really interesting gadget to have a play with and does provide good feedback on your brushing habits.

After using this tooth brush for 6 months now I think it’s time I reviewed it. I wanted to purchase a tooth brush that would make my teeth feel as clean as when I visit the dentist but I couldn’t justify paying a ridiculous amount of money. After lots of research I came across this Oral B smart series 6500 and decided this was the one for me. When the tooth brush arrived I was impressed with the packaging, everything was secure and in its place, the box contains the tooth brush handle, tooth brush heads, timer, stand, case and charge cable. I charged the tooth brush for 24 hours as the booklet said and by the next morning I was ready to go! It is simple to use, you turn it on by one button and then (if you wish)to change the setting you press the smaller button, as you press these buttons the hud on the timer tells you what you are choosing, when you have chosen the coins down begins. The timer also shows you which quadrant of your mouth the brush, and the tooth brush also notifies you by vibrating, it also notifies you when you are pressing too hard, the tooth brush changes from green to red and the little happy face on the timer turns to a sad face. When you are finished the tooth brush will let you know as will the timer, there is also an app you can download on your phone which does exactly the same thing as the timer, it connects to your tooth brush via blue tooth. My only issue with this tooth brush is that it does not hold much charge, to some people it may be enough charge depending on what setting you use but for me I can only get a few days out of it before I have to charge it again. Other than that little issue I fully recommend this tooth brush and I am very happy with my purchase and so are my teeth!

This is a good addition to the Oral-B range with some questionable capabilities. It is an excellent toothbrush, with different modes of operation which will fit varied needs, including modes friendly for children. The brush comes with a wonderful little screen that can be placed nearby, or stuck on the wall/mirror that operates as a clock when the brush is not in use, and offers a timer when in use. The timer function comes on automatically when the brush is switched on, and if you brush for the recommended (selected) time, then you get stars as a reward which is great fun for the kids and an incentive to brush for the 2' you should. The brush comes with 4 different heads, which is great. Now the questionable stuff. There is a tongue cleaning function. This is utter nonsense and I remember watching a comedy sketch about this years ago. You do not need to clean your tongue! The brush connects with Bluetooth to your smartphone/tablet. Keeps data on your brushing etc etc. Utter nonsense. What do you want to do that for? I challenge anyone to use this function more than once. The app on android works well and displays news and info to keep you amused while you are brushing (do you get that bored, that easily?). Otherwise the app is 88Mb that will probably clog up your phone's memory. The brush comes with a travel plastic kit etc as well which is handy I guess if you want to stick this entire device and accessories in your luggage. For those of you crazy about connectivity and a smart home and all this stuff, this will be a good purchase. For the rest of you, this is still a good purchase and the little screen will keep the kids amused while brushing (while the app will probably never be used).

This brush is pretty hardcore, I'm not going to lie. I mean bluetooth. BLUETOOTH on an instrument you use to brush your teeth. Who would've thought? In itself, it's got the standard Braun quality (well built, functional) that you'd expect. The modes it has are nice too - 'deep clean' for when you've got a minute extra at the weekend to spend on those good old teeth you take for granted as you innocently munch your toast (or breakfast bar) in the morning. Tongue cleaning slows the brush down a bit so its a bit more pleasant. Gum massages are a bit of a grey area (not actually grey, otherwise you have a problem) - I personally don't like the sensation but each to their own.The included heads are plentiful - allowing you to try each style before spending some of your hard earned pounds on some heads. Personally, the floss action ones and the 3D clean ones are my favourites.Moving on to the Bluetooth aspect. Erm. Gizmo. Simple as that - although the PDF reports you get on your phone are nice to show your dentist in a 'Look at me, I take oral health SO SERIOUSLY I have a PDF to prove it'. Nice way to show off, but, erm.The little timer thing (with a rather scary smile and melodramatic frown) is a nice touch. I can now assess how late I am in getting to university before I even put toothpaste on the brush and regret those extra ten minutes in bed. Excellent.Good quality brush. Perfect if you know someone whose idea of progress is having a toaster with in-built WiFi (or, if like, you like the idea of some 802.11ac toasted Kingsmill). iPhone as an alarm clock, some wireless toast and bluetooth toothbrush. Don't forget Citymapper!

About seven years ago I acquired a higher end Oral-B Triumph toothbrush. This had chips inside some brushing heads which indicated when they needed replacing and also set the correct brushing mode automatically. Sadly, most heads did not contain the chips, and those that did were expensive anyway. It looks as though Braun have quietly dropped the idea. This handle comes with a range of heads heads. It has one more mode than the 6000, a tongue cleaning mode. (I only ever use standard and whitening anyway.) Its smart monitor is smarter and more compact, though basically the same in function, ie, indicating when to change zones in your mouth, plus the brushing mode. When the brush is not operating,it acts as a bathroom clock.I never take the smart guide abroad. Now, however, I can obtain the same functionality on my Android phone, via Bluetooth, a nice but inessential touch. By now I rarely look at the smart guide anyway! There is the usual buzz ever thirty seconds to tell you to change zones, if you want it, or at the end of two minutes if you prefer. The light to tell you not to press too hard is handy. This is the latest high end toothbrush from Braun, sharing the excellence of the rest of the range. All brush heads are interchangeable on the range, so you can use cross-action heads if you prefer. Otherwise, with the round heads, hold the head steady against each tooth in turn, no brushing action is required or recommended. It takes getting used to, old habits and that.An excellent brush, far better than the competition. It should be priced at slightly more than the 6000, but watch out for offers, particularly around Xmas.

Am astounded by the effectiveness of this toothbrush. To be honest I thought my teeth looked clean enough with my Philips sonicare that I've had for about seven years now. Boy was I wrong. While I haven't mastered the timer thing (honestly this seems a bit sort of finicky and unnecessary) the toothbrush far surpasses anything I have ever tried. In just one two minute try before bed I saw SUCH a difference I had never expected. My teeth not only looked several shades whiter than they had been but they were actually sparkling like white diamonds! (honestly no exaggeration). I can't believe how clean they look and feel.I used the little round brush with the plastic tabs that flick round (didn't notice what this was called)and it did indeed get ALL the plaque up from the bottom of my molars that are usually too difficult to get with the sonicare or other conventional brushes.Whatever they are asking for this brush, it is WELL worth it's weight in pound coins! It is powerful (with adjustment for more sensitive teeth), comes with four heads, a case, the charger (although darn you, Oral-B, you didn't give me a two-prong wall adapter!) and a few plastic accessories (not sure what these are for yet to be honest). The timer thing comes with it and is apparently blu-tooth enabled, but I'm not sure how to operate it yet, haven't gone through the instructions. To be honest, I wouldn't say you really even need the smart guide thing, it's a toothbrush and it successfully does its job without you needing to be prompted to do anything. My sparkling whites are proof of that.Very happy with it, highly recommend to all!

It's a great toothbrush. The bluetooth clock display thingy is great. When you turn the brush on, it immediately starts to tell you which quadrant of your mouth to brush and when you should change, and when you're done it indicates how good of a job you did, which is nice. Always good to get a bit of approval in the morning, even if it is from a simplistic smiley face on a clock that's wirelessly connected to your toothbrush. The toothbrush has a bunch of modes, I'm not even sure what all of them do, but I use the sensitive mode because I have a tendency to overbrush, and my wife uses the regular mode. These work well, and there's an obvious difference between them. The different modes genuinely do seem to do what they're supposed to, it's not just a con to sell you a more expensive toothbrush. The only annoying thing is the time it takes to charge. A device you're supposed to use twice a day, should ideally take no more than the interval between to charge. This takes over 24 hours. I don't know if that's a fault with our toothbrush (which otherwise works perfectly) or a more general thing, but roughly once a week, you're going to have to take this off the charger before it's finished, use it, then put it back again to finish off, which is a bit annoying and the reason I've docked it a star. Admittedly this would be far less of a problem if we had shaver sockets in our bathroom, but as it is the brush is charged in the bedroom and I have to remember to take it off the charger to use it on those days, and put it back. Not a big hassle, but enough to make you grumble a bit.
