I have used Braun/Oral-B electric toothbrushes for many years, so speak from genuine experience. I hope this review is of use to others looking at this product. The first thing to say is that, if you are still using a manual toothbrush, you should really switch to an electric one if you can. Every dentist and hygienist I have ever visited would support this, and I know myself the difference it makes to dental health, especially gums. As to your choice of electric toothbrush, that depends on personal preference. From my experience, the good features about Braun/Oral-B toothbrushes are as follows:- Super-reliable. I have bought a series of brushes for all my family, and my original one is still going strong after 15 years- All models can use all brush heads. The design of brush heads has not changed in all the time I have used them, so no issue with compatibility or being forced to upgrade (as razor makers seem to do)- A range of brush heads to suit different needs, including specialist ones for interdental, sensitive and whitening. Spare heads are widely available (although cheapest online, such as on Amazon)- Comfortable to hold and easy to manoeuvre around your teeth. So, what do I think of this particular model? (If you want to see the whole range, have a look at www.oralb.com/products/electric-toothbrush/professional)In my opinion, this brush is the "sweet spot" of the range, because:- It has the same performance as all "higher" models, in terms of oscillation and vibration speed (which not only cleans better but feels more comfortable - strangely, a faster speed seems to cause less of a jangling feeling than a slower one). This is the most important feature.- It has all the most important features: a 2 minute timer, warning light to tell you if you press too hard, low-charge indicator- It has the 2 most useful alternative brushing modes (sensitive and whitening)- the battery should last at least 7 days at least between chargesIn my opinion, the only reason to buy a more expensive model would be if you were particularly strong attracted by one of the additional features of the more expensive models, which are:- some have a bigger holder that also has spaces for brush heads. If you are the only user, you don't need this as the brush head would stay on the brush, but maybe for a family it would be useful (although you could just put them in a small cup instead)- additional modes, which become increasingly exotic. Not necessary for a brilliant basic clean, so only if your dentist has recommended to use one of these modes- a slightly more powerful battery, that lasts up to 10 days - only necessary if you plan on being away from usable power for more than a week. In which case the 4000 model has the better battery and is the next best choice for value.- a plastic travel case to hold the brush and 2 heads (but not charger)One final point - ignore all the stuff about brush heads in the product descriptions of the various models. If you want cross-action or whitening heads you can just buy them - they fit ANY model in the Professional range, so whether they are included in the initial pack is entirely irrelevant.

I've been using electric toothbrushes for many years now and it is obvious to me that they are many times more effective than a manual toothbrush,There effectiveness is outstanding (provided you use them correctly see some tips later)Simply put if you want to keep your teeth get an electric toothbrush. After trying several cheapo brands I used Oral B brand ones for many years.I have worn out 3 so that gives you an indication of my experience.I converted all my family to using Oral B electric toothbrushes too.I tried several brands and got into the Oral B brand.I have been privileged to received quite a few to test through the Amazon Vine Programme. So I do have a little bit of history and knowledgeto base my reviews on.Oral B though have been brilliant over the years. This is a good electric toothbrush-Oral B have designed their machines to be effective and reliable. But the toothbrush is a little dated. Many others have extra features that really are worth spending just a little more to get. This model has some good features like the visible pressure monitor that lights up when you pressing too hard and the 2 minute timer, the brush oscillates, vibrates and pulsates (the clever thing just like a young Elvis!) too giving it the edge over the cheaper back and fro ones (Shakin' Stevens anyone?)But I can just use my bathroom clock or my watch for that and sometimes I feel I know that I could do with a little longer to ensure my mouth feels clean and fresh. The real feature that is included in the arsenal of this brush is a Gum Massaging feature. Now I cannot emphasise how much I think it is important to ensure you have the Gum Massaging feature. This is an improvement on other Oral B's because it has the gum massage feature. My fellow reviewer who has received one of these for review says he will not be using this feature. He is missing out big time. When I first obtained a brush that had the massage feature I can honestly state it revolutionized how I used a toothbrush. Many people brush their teeth but neglect their gums.We have all heard the claim from TV adverts that people loose more teeth through Gum Disease than through decay. This brush has a brilliant feature that massages your gums. After use you have a wonderful feeling that you mouth is fully clean.I am a great advocate of gum care because I have had real problems in the past with Lichen Planus. So I use Corsodyl Daily Gum and Tooth Paste when I need to.

Oral-b make excellent quality toothbrushes. They give great cleaning performance that a manual brush won't match and that could save you a fortune in dentist bills over the years! They are built to last (made in Germany printed on bottom of the handle) I had my last one a decade before replacing it with this model. The old one still actually worked but required almost daily charging in the end, and perhaps lost a tiny bit of power over the years, as this is definitely more powerful. I have tried a ultra sonic toothbrush by another brand, but wasn't as impressed, and it only lasted just out of warranty before it broke completely! I think this 3000 model (after doing some research) is the model to go for. They do make more expensive models, that have in my opinion unnecessary features (like a smart app for your phone to tell you how well your brushing) that you don't need and probably won't use. This model has all the good features you do want though, such as - a timer which vibrates every 30 seconds. The idea being you should clean a quarter of your teeth every 30 seconds, it then has a longer vibration after two minutes to so tell you that they should be all done. It has a light that comes on if you press too hard against your teeth, which does seem to require fair bit of pressure, but still nice idea. It has a low speed mode, which is good if you have a sensitive tooth, and a pulse mode for massaging your gums but that I probably won't use. The battery will last just over a week when fully charged brushing twice a day, so you could even take on a short holiday on one charge. When at home you can leave it on charge all the time wen not in use as it won't over charge, or it will flash at the end of brushing to let you know it when it needs a charge. In all it's a must buy if you don't have a decent electric toothbrush, and I found amazon to have the best price for this model!

Only Buy the Features You Need. I am a huge fan of Braun Oral-B toothbrushes. My mouth always feels beautifully clean when I've used one. It is, however, very easy think that going for the top of the range is the best thing to do only to find that, in daily use, you only use the basic features and could have paid very much less. The latest range of these brushes has tweaked the basic design a little and, as you go up the range, some new features have been added. Be careful not to waste money by going for the the top range unless you are going to use the additional features.I do not see myself using sensitive mode and gum massage very much. Nor do I need the flashing red light to warn me I'm brushing too hard. This might be useful if you've never used one of these brushes before or if you are letting children use this unit. Having a couple of brush heads is an advance on only one but these can purchased from Amazon fairly cheaply. Being able to store a couple of spare heads on and adaptor that the charge unit can be placed in is good but whether or not this will be a really useful feature depends on how much shelf space you have in your bathroom. The handle is pretty much the same in design as the others in the range. It's comfortable to hold and is easy to use. What I don't like is the change in the on/off switch. I do not find this new design as easy to switch off as earlier models, If I press the button too hard, it goes off and comes immediately back on again. It's been a couple of weeks plus now and I still haven't found the knack. This is the first time I've encountered this issue with Braun Oral B units. This is the reason for a four star rather than a five star rating. If were going to buy a Braun Oral B again, I would check the features that each unit possesses and then pick the unit that had those I needed. Would I buy another? Of course. I love them.

I've been using Oral-B toothbrushes for years and the oscillating action is really smooth and comfortable. It reaches all your teeth with ease and leaves your mouth and gnashers refreshed and clean. This model is no different in that respect.Although it comes with a couple of brush heads, ALL Oral-B Pro toothbrush heads will fit this handle. The handle is slim and ergonomically sound. You'll need to leave it charging overnight to get a full charge - it takes 12-15 hours - and when fully charged I've been getting SIX days use when using it TWICE daily for 2 minutes each time. The instructions do recommend storing the handle on the charging unit to maintain full power and that "overcharging is impossible".It pauses very briefly every 30 seconds, reminding you to change quadrant and continues running after the recommended two minute brushing cycle. The switch off mode is clumsy - it goes into another mode and it almost feels like you're having to forcefully switch it off and the pressure sensor is pointless - you have to be brushing so hard that you're slowing down the motor for it to light up.Beyond the default 'Daily Clean' mode, it has a couple of extra ones - 'Gum Care' and 'Sensitive'. The Gum Care mode massages the gums (it's not uncomfortable but not something I'll be using regularly) and the Sensitive mode is just like the standard mode but slower. The default Daily Clean mode should cover most people's requirements.Overall this is a very good toothbrush but when buying Oral-B it's worth shopping around a bit - the R.R.P. is way over the top for what this is and, at the time of writing, it's being offered for £45 which is a lot more reasonable. Ultimately, if you don't need the 'Gum Care' and 'Sensitive' modes, opt for the cheaper Oral-B Pro 2000 instead.

It is puzzling picking the toothbrush to choose from the Brain range. I'm still pretty adamant that the cheapest models are basically as effective as any other, and are the ones to go for, everything else being just gimicks appended. perhaps the exceptions are that as you spend more you get more modes (this one does a regular, soft, and polish modes, selected by cycling through the on switch) none of which seems terribly useful compared to the basic brushing option, or that the battery indicator gets more sophisticated (in this case, red is bad, green good) which isn't really useful, since the power seems to drop off as the battery wears, so it is wise to keep it topped up at all times. This adds a red "toooooo hard" alert, which is neat, if you happen to brush your teeth like a gorilla, but which actually takes a pretty concerted heft to activate, making me wonder who needs this function, also.notwithstanding, i really like the form factor of the smaller brushes compared to the fatter handled top-of the line. I think the blue colour of this is nice, and the plastic, 2 brush, base plate, is a nice addition to the standard charging dock. There are 2 brush heads included, one basic, one cross-action (in my view less effective than the floss-action, but better than the basic). in the end, this is where you should spend spare money; in my view buy a basic brush, and spend on the flasher heads. My final issue is with the mains cable. I appreciate that these are made in yurp, where plugs are different, and that some people live in hotels, which are actually equipped with shaver sockets, but there must be enough of these sold in the UK to justify including at least an adaptor for our silly 3 pin plugs?

This has been my first experience with a electric toothbrush, yet I was surprisingly hesitant upon ordering the product. The truth is that I needn't have been, as with patience, the Pro 3000 is easy an replacement for your old plastic brush.Learning how to use this product is probably the best advice that I can give. The device is very powerful and you may even feel a little intimidated at first, but after no more than a handful of washes will you get a feel for good technique. To make life easier, the device has three speed modes (faster, slower, and oscillating) to suit different gum sensitivities, and also features a clever pressure sensor that lights up on the handle when you're pressing down too hard. Two brush heads are also provided and can be alternated depending on how deep you wish to clean; the 'CrissCross' version features blue bristles that allegedly fade towards the end of its life, signalling a renewal. Thankfully, the instructions suggest that this should't be for around six months. The device is charged on a small dock that can also hold the two brush heads. From my experience, charging can take anywhere up to 12-hours and usually results in a week's worth of cleaning. My favourite feature is the quite ingenious method of timing your wash: the brush head will pause its rotation at set intervals, so that you know when to finish one set of teeth and move on to another! This results in a deeper and more even clean. This is a fabulous product and has become almost indispensable alongside a bottle of Pearl Drops. The only reservations I have are that a travel pouch and/or brush head cap are not present, which I would fully expect at this price.

Oral B Pro 3000This is a battery operated rechargeable tooth brush. In the box.--------------The main tooth brush,Charger and stand,Two brush heads,Instructions and warrantee.Differences between this brush and the entry level models.------------------------------------------------------------------------------Basically this brush is the same as the entry level one but with a pressure sensor that blinks red if you are pressing too hard and a charge level indicator. In use.--------The brush works well and does do a very good job at clearing teeth. I have used an electric tooth brush (mainly Oral B ones) for about 18 years and take care to keep my teeth clean. I have not had to have any fillings or dental work done in that time.My dentist does say that an electric tooth brush does a much better job than a manual one and I can only agree. One charge of the brush lasts about five days brushing for two minutes twice a day. The charger comes with a two pin shaver plug only so you will need a 3 pin adapter if you don’t have a shaver socket in your bathroom.Overall.----------I have found Oral B brushes to be the best but I personally think the entry level ones do just as good a job as these more expensive ones with all their little gadgets and indicators. It’s down to personal preference I suppose but in my house we all use Oral B brushes and our dentist has not made any money out of us except for check-ups for many years so they are well worth investing in. All my children use electric tooth brushes and have never needed any dental treatment and the dentist always comments on how clean and well looked after their teeth are.

This is my first electric toothbrush and I must say, I`m very pleased with it.I`ve always shied away from getting one of these as I have sensitive gums, but I noticed in the product description that the unit had a sensitive setting so I took the plunge. The unit came with two brush heads, a cross-action and what appears to be a sensitive head - this is the one I opted for. The unit takes a long while to charge - about 22 hours according to the instructions - and this should provide a weeks worth of usage; I`ve charged mine twice now and found it best just to leave it charging overnight, as it will safely turn itself off when the procedure is complete. There are three settings with the 3000; daily, sensitive and whitening, the latter delivering a pulsating, oscillating action. I have generally chosen the sensitive setting and there is a warning light on the handle which flashes red if the brush is applied too heavily.I found the toothbrush to be very good; the action is highly efficient without any duress on my gums; I had feared that the motorised action would drive the gum-line down or cause bleeding but that hasn't happened; the device is easily controllable and does a very good job leaving my teeth feeling very clean. There is a slight change in the motor action every 30 seconds to alert you to the duration of the cleaning session so it is easy to judge when to stop. You will require a two-pin adapter for charging and the unit comes with a handy charging-stand.It does seem to be rather an expensive model, but as I said, I'm very happy with it - wish I'd got one sooner.

This is a great toothbrush and it feels like it gives a really thorough clean. I like the fact that there are three different settings and that there are timing intervals of every thirty seconds when the brush very briefly vibrates to remind you to try and clean surfaces equally, and then a slightly longer reminder after you've brushed for two minutes, as this is the time recommended by dentists. The handle is a nice slim size to hold and the grip is good. I've used it for about a month now and haven't had any problems with it and would certainly recommend it. It took me a few uses to get used to the red light that flashes to indicate if you are pressing too hard, but now I don't notice it very much and it has helped me get the pressure about right I think.I've needed to get used to pressing and holding the button a couple of seconds to switch it off, rather than the Oral B toothbrush I had previously, which switched off just by pressing it once. There are three modes you can use, daily clean, sensitive and gum care, and I often use the sensitive option. This is the third Oral B electric toothbrush I've had and I've been happy with how all of them have worked. I like the angle and movement of the brush and feel I can reach my back teeth and have a better clean than with an ordinary toothbrush. The charging unit on this one is slightly larger at the base than the previous model I had and I think that makes it a little more stable. Whilst this is a more expensive toothbrush, I do feel it really gets my teeth clean and is therefore worth the investment.

I've used electric toothbrushes, predominantly Braun Oral-B, for many years now. The Pro 3000 is pretty mid-range within Braun's current collection but performs better than that. It seems that generally Bruan's toothbrushes all perform similarly, it's just the accessories and modes which differentiate the different models. The Pro-3000 is sensibly priced and with three brushing modes covers all the bases you arguably need. I have used other brushes with 5 or 6 modes and easily half of them I've never used as they seem little better than 'normal' or 'sensitive'. This model retains its charge reasonably well, I have been fully charging it every 5 or 6 days, which isn't too bad. The included brush heads are good, but as my gums and teeth generally are delicate I have mostly used Oral B Sensitive brush heads which I purchased separately. They work fine with the brush though. In addition to the brush modes, you get a pressure sensor, which is handy but you have to press pretty hard for it to come on and I would imagine the discomfort you would feel when pressing that hard would be a clue to lighten up a bit, with no need for a light on the toothbrush. But it's still a nice feature to have. The toothbrush also has the fairly standard two minute timer, which is really useful for making sure you are doing a good, consistent job with your teeth brushing, so important as you try to look after them.As a Braun product, it's well-made and sturdy. Worth checking out.

This is not my first Oral-B rotary brush, so it goes without saying that I like them. So does my dentist, who recommends them over other options. His view is that, in addition to dealing with plaque, they combat staining better than their competitors. However, they're not perfect. A battery charge lasts only about a week, which is poor by modern standards, and, from fully discharged, charge time is 22 hours. So you either have two of them or only clean your teeth once on one day a week. That's a little unfair because you can recharge for a shorter time if you don't let the brush run down completely. However, these brushes still use NiMH batteries (don't ask me why they haven't swapped to Li-ions)which work for longest if they are fully discharged at least once a month. They still don't do much better than 800 charge cycles, so you might get 16 years out of one if you were very careful. On the other hand, if you don't mind getting a new one every 3 or 4 years, you can charge it more or less as you like. This is the first time I've used a brush with a pressure sensor. I haven't found it particularly useful. I have to exert a huge amount of pressure (far more than I would normally) to cause it to light up. I suppose that confirms that I'm not rubbing away the enamel but I really only need to know that once. And, if the light failed, how would I know?Anyway, these are minor niggles. All in all the brush does a good job and is easy and comfortable to use.

This is a smashing toothbrush. I did a bit of research when I bought it as I was undecided whether to go for a sonic toothbrush or stick with Oral B. I found a couple of articles which suggested that this toothbrush operated in such a way that it was marginally more effective than a sonic brush. The balance of cost and features made this the best buy for me and even though I have only used it for around a month there seemed to be far less scaling at my latest visit to the dentist. The toothbrush arrives in a box and contains the brush, 2 toothbrush heads, the charger (you do need to have a 2 pin adaptor if you intend using an ordinary plug and a piece of plastic which I think is used for wall mounting.I followed the instructions and plugged it into charge and waited. I checked it that evening - still charging, I checked it before I went to bed - still charging. I was glad that it was fully charged by the following morning but it does take about 18 hours to charge. There is a useful warning light if you press too aggressively and the unit flashes red when it needs to recharge - there is still enough of a charge at this point to use at least once but given the length of time a charge takes it is a useful feature. There are various settings - sensitive, whitening and so on, these are selected by pressing the on/off button. I tend to use the normal setting and it feels comfortable and thorough.I am very pleased with this purchase

Over the years I've tried out both cheaper and more expensive ranges of Oral-B toothbrushes, and I have to say that while the more expensive ones always feel a bit more plusher (if that's even a word!) than the cheaper ones, the cheaper ones like this PRO 3000 always seem to be just as capable as the high end ones (albeit with a reduced number of modes). They hold the charge just as well and the motors are more than powerful enough to deliver a good brushing quality.Compared to previous generations of Oral-B toothbrushes, the major differences from previous generations are that A) the handles are now thinner and easier to hold, and B)the number of buttons has been reduced from two to one.At first I found the reduction of buttons annoying as I was continually having to cycle through all the settings before the brush would switch off, until I discovered that the best way to switch the toothbrush off is to press and hold the button for a couple of seconds. The red pressure sensor for indicating when you brush your teeth too hard seems be less hair trigger than my previous Oral-B brush, which is a good thing as my previous brush would flash red if you so much as looked at it the wrong way.Charging times as usual with Oral-B brushes take forever, but the charge always seems to last a long time. All in all another quality Oral-B toothbrush.

Before everything, I'd like to say that I've been an electric toothbrush user for over ten years, and I even take with on holidays or visiting my parents' to stay.I started my experience with a much cheaper one, and I've also used ones from more expensive range. Now I can see that the technology is developing so much since then. For me, it's definitely better than ordinary toothbrushes, because electric ones are easy, quick, thorough and good for the gums too, and I know from my experience that these brushes are much more efficient than brushing manually in a traditional way.My tiny problem with this model is that there is no red indicator, which blinks and warns if you're applying the brush too hard to the teeth, although it is a default function in more expensive models. Another issue is that this model has only one mode, which is either the brushing is on or off, instead of normal, gentle and combination modes that allow the users to choose the best brushing mode and can be found in more expensive models again.I have my teeth checked at least one or even twice a year at the dentist, and once again he hasn't found any decayed tooth possibly because I'm using electric brushes and the mouthwash. I think it's definitely worth the money!Hope you'll like it too!
