After a number of years the Philips Sonicare brush that I had developed a fault with the power button. Rather than trying to find out how much it would cost to repair I decided to just buy a new toothbrush, and decided to go back to an Oral B one. If you are changing after some time to a different type of brush, or are coming to an electric toothbrush for the first time then it will take a few days, even up to about a week to really get into the swing of things. If you have only used a manual toothbrush before then you will have to get used to letting the brush do the work for you rather than doing the brushing yourself. You get in the box here, one toothbrush device, a brush head, and a charging base with a two pin plug. Please don’t be one of those people on here who claim that this doesn’t come with a British plug, it is the same two pin plug that all electric toothbrushes and electric razors come with, and so you can plug it into the socket if you have one in your bathroom, or buy an adaptor plug so that this will fit a standard mains socket. The latter are available on this site. The first thing that bogs people down when they decide to change to an electric toothbrush is the plethora of extras that some come with. The question is do you need one that can link up via an app and Bluetooth to tell you you have cleaned your teeth, and do you need one that does loads of different supposed brushing programs? At the end of the day you want to just clean your teeth. This brush does take a long time to fully charge, the first charge at least twenty two hours, and still a considerable time if you then charge it up before it is fully drained. The battery life will probably give you only a few days to clean your teeth, although longer if you are the only person who uses it and can manage to clean your teeth in two minutes. The reason why you do not get as long a charge with this as with a sonic brush is when you think about it, quite simple. A sonic style brush only really vibrates, whereas this has to rotate the brush head, and send out pulses. One thing you should be made aware of though is that you can still use this brush before it is fully charged, providing that you have a large enough charge. There is on here a light which will come on when the charge is low, although you can still use it two or three times more before the battery is fully drained. You do get a two year warranty with this, but you will see if you do decide to purchase this that you can extend this on-line for another year (at no charge), so in fact you have a three year warranty. Please remember if you are using an electric toothbrush for the first time that you shouldn’t turn it on until it is in your mouth, otherwise toothpaste will go flying everywhere. This does give an audible noise if you are pushing too hard so this will help if you are a scrubber, there is a quad pacer here, which gives you an audible noise at thirty second intervals, but this does not turn off after two minutes. This I think is a good thing as it takes me longer than two minutes to clean my teeth properly. People get bogged down about the time, but you should remember that two minutes is an arbitrary number, one that ensures that the paste has started to work. When using something like this please remember to aim at getting into the gum line, and then pulling down the tooth, this will give you the full benefits of using this. Also one other thing that you should be aware of if this is your first time using an electric toothbrush, this may make the gums ache, or even bleed for the first couple of days, but this is not anything to be worried about. If you are looking for a good quality brush that will meet your oral and dental hygiene regime needs, that isn’t going to cost the Earth and will last for quite some time, then this is an ideal model that should be good enough for most people.

Having owned an electric toothbrush now for many years and many of these have been the Oral-B range that this particular products. This being a replacement for my almost identical brush which this appears to have superseded, offers more of the same plus a little more in the offering of floss action brush. I am not completely convinced that the floss action is due to the toothbrush and more to the actual head supplied, and haven't noticed any great difference in use floss action and non floss action, perhaps more a marketing gimmick? The toothbrush is well designed being a good size to hold fully and comfortably in your hand with a rubber grip on the front to aid holding when wet and during use.The oral b toothbrush gives an excellent and through cleaning experience, with noticeable smoothness and general oral health such reducing bad breath. Whenever I use manual toothbrushes the difference is noticeable, feeling less smooth and clean with manual brushes. This is further backed by my dentist comments on how good the health of teeth is due to using this brush, consequently I am having fewer problems with each dentist visit. The cleaning process as recommended is to spend about 30 seconds for each quarter of your mouth (top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right), each 30 seconds is marked with a slight stuttering vibration from the toothbrush to indicate you move to cleaning the next quarter of your mouth. The end of the recommended cleaning process is marked by a slightly longer stutter. This should make brushing a pretty fool proof process with this toothbrush. The brush head is recommended to be changed approximately every 6 months, and with these selling for no more than several pounds should not be too much an issue for most people. The toothbrush itself is cordless, with charging being achieved via an inductive charging base, the only downside is the actual length of the charging cycle taking about 12 hours, but that's just an inherent thing about this type of inductive charging technology. Thankfully charging lasts 12 - 15 days based on 4 minutes usage per day. The need for charging is indicated by the led on the front of the unit flashing red when switching off, and then whilst charging on the base it flashes green and extinguishes itself once charged. The base comes supplied with the customary 2 round pin connector found in some bathrooms with a power connector, otherwise you will have to invest in a 2 round pin to 3 square pin converter.Overall: A very accomplished mid range offering in the excellent Oral-B electric toothbrush range, at an excellent price offering more than enough functionality for majority of people, a good battery life is let down slightly with a quite long charging process, but thankfully the charging needs to be infrequent. Great brush, great price and should live up to Oral-B legendary build quality.Pros:Well made productexcellent cleaning resultsGood battery life between charginguser replaceable brush headCons:Length of charging (approx 12 hours)Floss action (does not really work)

I have had one of these before and the battery did not last that long (a few months) before its performance started dropping off a little, but you just have to recharge it a bit more often. After a few years I was recharging it nearly every other day, so binned it and got this one. For this reason I will not spend too much on an electrical tooth brush. For the price I paid for this (about £20) you can't really go wrong. Its got just one mode (power drill mode, ha ha; but seriously it's got a strong pulsating action which might not be everyone's cup of tea but it does a brilliant job of cleaning your teeth), it hasn't got an overpressure warning light like my last one had,but I won't miss it because it seemed like one of those things which seems like a good idea but is otherwise useless; you would have to be pressing stupidly hard for it to come on. By the way this unit is compatible with different types of Oral B brush head. It has a low charge warning light and also a light which flashes on and off when it's being charged (handy for reassurance that the charger is actually working). It takes a long time to fully charge, about 20 hours or so, and that is because it is a çontactless charging system - there is no direct electrical contact between the charger and the brush, for safety reasons as it might be used in a bathroom; there is a coil inside the brush at the bottom which picks up the electromagnetic effect of the charger and transfers the energy to the battery (I know this because I took my old one apart to see if I could just change the battery but you can't without wrecking the whole brush - very clever design to make you buy a new unit! Overall I am happy with this brush; it does what it's supposed to do very well (cleans your teeth) without all the extra frills which would add to the expense, and which you would probably not use much anyway. I would only give it four stars though, because I haven't got faith that the battery will keep its youthful performance for very long, although at this price I think it is superb value for money.

This Oral-B Professional Care 600 is an effective entry level toothbrush. It is simple but works well - my understanding is that the Oral-B Professional Care Range feature radial brushes which also pulsate/oscillate rather than more the rectangular brushes in some models. The radial action of this toothbrush certainly gives you a feeling of just having been to the dentist for a clean and polish despite it being only a single speed model. The radial brush looks a bit smaller than the rectangular versions and might be better if you have a small mouth. The brush head should last about 3 months depending on use and it has a built in wear indicator.Replacement heads are normally sold in multipacks and are not particularly cheap but apart from Sonic heads I believe you can use other styles of Oral B heads. This is a "no frills" toothbrush from a leading make and it comes with a single brush head and charger. The charger gives you about five days brushing from a single charge - the plug is a standard two prong shaver type plug, and, if you don't have a shaver socket you'll need to buy an adaptor - a two pin 13amp one. The charger and main unit are cleverly designed so there are no exposed metal contracts on either device and the main unit is comfortable to hold. There's a visual timer that flashes after the recommended two minutes of brushing but no pressure indicator so you have judge yourself how much pressure to exert, in practice, this isn't too difficult but I believe to next model up in the ranger sports a pressure light. Finally, there's a generous two year warranty from Oral-B.I am a fan of electric toothbrushes as I believe they are much more effective at cleaning your teeth and I certainly cannot compete with their high speed brushing action using a manual brush. I also notice that I experience fewer gum problems when I've been using an electric toothbrush. In summary, a good value and effective electric toothbrush. Recommended.

The different brands of electronic toothbrush vary in price greatly, you could easily spend over £100 if you wished, or go for something at the cheaper end. Price is not everything, like Gillette razors, Braun believes in selling their toothbrushes cheap upfront in the hopes they sell a lot of toothbrush heads at a later date. Here lies the `Braun Oral-B Professional Care 600 Rechargeable Toothbrush', a very reasonable priced electronic toothbrush, but is it as high a quality as some of the more expensive devices available? The simple answer is no. `Oral B 600' is a very basic brush; it switches on when you press the button and switches off when you press it again. However, this is pretty much all you want from a toothbrush so there is no faulting it there. I have used brushes that have programmes which change the pitch and ferocity of the brushing, but I ended up using their basic functions every time. As a basic toothbrush `Oral B 600' does a decent job, but it does struggle slightly to maintain torque. Moving it around your mouth can sometime cause it to slow down as it does not quite have the power I need. The device has good build quality and comes with the floss style heads that both clean and floss at the same time. Personally, I don't think they make a huge amount of difference from the standard head. The `Oral B 600' is only packed with one head so if you are planning to share you will already be on the gravy train buying spares for you partner/kids. If you do share be careful when swapping heads as the insides hold water and you can let H2O fly everywhere if you are not careful. It is hard to overly criticise the `Oral B 600' as it is so well priced. Is it as good as a £100+ brush? Of course not, but the difference in power is not in correlation with the price. Anyone on a budget would be very happy with the `Oral B 600', as it is almost as good as the higher price equivalent.

When you first move from a manual to electric toothbrush, the sensation is to start with painful, but you can immediately feel the benefits, in that the clean is so much better than brushing. Your gums are initially sensitive to the contact of the osciallting and pulsating brush. However within a few weeks, it becomes normal routineI've had an oral b 200 brush for a few years now, and other than it starting to lose charge, it has lasted well. That is until I tried this brush. First off, the handle is well designed per usual. The floss head is quite interesting. The brush head is a little bigger than the normal brush, being oval shaped rather than round. There are also 4 small yellow soft rubber bristles that I guess are supposed to get between the teeth to perform the "flossing" action advertised. The brushing experience was sublime. The brush is a lot less noisy and vibrates a lot less than my old electric toothbrush so that's a plus. The little flossing bristles are a little painful when they catch your gum in the wrong place, but they seem to do the job, since after brushing now, I can really feel the mint of the toothpaste in places of my mouth (particularly between the teeth) that I never had before. The feeling after brushing was very similar to having flossed too.In all, this is a cheap and cheerful electric toothbrush. I will most certainly keep buying these floss bristles, firstly because they performed well, and because I often forget to floss. I can't speak much about the charge, but I usually get a week out of oral b electric toothbrushes, with the power decreasing during the week as the battery is drained. Hopefully the oscillating motion can be maintained beyond 1-2 days that my current brush does, before slowing down and becoming less effective.

This is my second Oral-B electric toothbrush. I have had the first for a good few years and it still works perfectly well. I have given my old toothbrush to my husband and will use the new one myself. This is basically the same as the old model but has a number of new features which improve it. Firstly, it now has a timer. A short stuttering sound at 30 second intervals reminds you to brush all 4 quadrants of your mouth equally. A long stuttering sound indicates the end of the professionally recommended 2 minute brushing time. The elapsed brushing time is memorised when the handle is briefly switched off during brushing. When pausing longer than 30 seconds the timer resets. This timer is an extremely useful feature. When using the old model I had to guess how long I had brushed my teeth for as I tried to aim for 2 minutes. This feature ensures that you clean your teeth for the recommended time.A 2nd useful feature is the pressure control. If you apply too much pressure, the brush will continue to oscillate but the pulsation will stop. In addition you will also hear a different sound while brushing. This ensures that you are brushing your teeth correctly. A 3rd feature not on my old toothbrush, is the fact that a green light comes on when you are recharging it and then goes off when it is fully charged. When the rechargeable battery is low a red warning light comes on.Also useful is the fact that you can buy a variety of brush heads depending on your own preference.Altogether a great toothbrush. As I have said, I have used my old toothbrush for years without any problems at all. All you have to do is change the brush heads at appropriate intervals. I am happy to recommend this.

I like using this toothbrush, although I miss the Visible Pressure Sensor warning light that is found on more expensive models in the range (more on this later).I've tried a few of the Oral B range and always found them very good - brushing with these leaves your teeth feeling much cleaner than manual brushing. For everyday brushing the Pro 600 brushes as well as others in the range. The package includes the new Cross Action brush head, which is very good. My previous favourite brush head was the Floss Action, but I prefer the new Cross Action. The brush will also take other Oral B brush heads, including the Floss Action, Sensitive Clean, and Trizone. This toothbrush is simpler, and cheaper, than others in the range. It only has the Daily Clean brush mode, unlike the others which have additional modes. I have other brushes in the range, but frankly I rarely, if ever, use any other mode. In fact, just having the one mode simplifies usage. On this brush pressing the on/off button does just that - simply switching the brush on or off. But on the other brushes the on/off button also scrolls you through the brushing modes, which can get a little annoying if you accidentally press it during brushing. The brush changes sound and tempo to warn you if you are applying too much pressure, but lacks the Visible Pressure Sensor warning light that is included in upper versions in the range. I find the warning light to be very useful, so suggest it might be a reason for upgrading to one of the more expensive models. By the way, I also find the Wireless Smart Guide on the top end brushes very useful - though obviously those Oral B brushes are much more expensive.

I have been using an electric toothbrush for the past 5 years. I use a slightly more expensive model usually than this toothbrush so what are the major design differences?Well this comes with a floss head toothbrush and like most Oral B electric toothbrushes you can buy the head design that suits you the best. I have found over the past few years that this floss head does the job the best for me personally. This entry level Braun electric toothbrush is lighter to hold than my mid range model and the charger base is smaller and more suited to travel. It does require a two pin razor socket to use - but adaptors are cheap to come by should that be a problem. On this cheaper Care 600 model there is only a single speed option, however it is designed to naturally slow down should you push too hard on your teeth and gums. My other model has a two speed setting but I rarely would use the slow speed. Both run for two minutes and stutter to let you know when 30 seconds has passed. The LED indicator flashes when it is nearing a recharging cycle, while on my Mid-Range brush it would beep and flash.Comparably there really isn't much between them until we get to the recharging time. A full charge will give you roughly 7 to 10 days worth of brushing (this is the same on both), however the entry level Care 600 takes somewhere between 12 to 24 hours to fully recharge. This is incredibly slow in comparison to my other toothbrush.Overall this toothbrush is a brilliant piece of kit but charging time appears to really be the only major compromise on the price difference.

Our family have been using these electric toothbrushes for a few years now. I have pink, my husband has black and my son has this blue. The toothbrush actually has a small coloured ring that fits on just under the head so that you know which is your toothbrush, because we have different colour handles we do not need to use these but they are a must if you have the same colour. Since using the electric toothbrush I no longer have any stains on the inside of my teeth and I never have to have a descale and polish at the dentist. A dentist explained to me that you have to clean each tooth slowly (much much slower than you think) and think about cleaning each one as you go from back to front. He said you do not need to go over again if you do it fully the first time. The toothbrush does vibrate after 30 seconds then on the 4th after 2 minutes it does a longer vibrate so it helps you take your time and clean properly. The charging time takes about 24 hours for a full charge but this can last over a week. I usually put mine on when the red light flashes and then just take it off next time I use it and put somebody elses on. It works out well as you can just leave it on the charging station all the time if you want to. Although we had a charger for each toothbrush we only ever use one.Great toothbrush that does a good job, there really is no need to buy a more expensive one.It really does work, I used to hate the dentist scraping at my teeth with a metal pick (sorry too much information!)

Compared to my previous Oral-B toothbrush - all ultrasonic whistles and bells - this is like having a pneumatic drill or a diesel motor in your mouth. It's loud and it's pushy. Just the thing for cleaning teeth. That said, it is a remarkably good toothbrush that gets down to doing the job for which it was designed - cleaning teeth.I've only been using it for a few weeks and it's already doing a much better job than my older, very expensive, magic dental wand. The unit comes complete with an induction charger. The red light flashes to let you know when to charge it (about once per week) and the green flashing light tells you when it is charging. It's a straightforward on or off button. There's no 'soft'mode. The unit feels firm in your hand and the slim case is easy to grip and control as you guide the brush head around your mouth. The brushes in the tip oscillate to and fro and this helps the bristles get into the nooks and crannies of your mouth. It also has the now-familiar Oral-B brush-time countdown. After 30 seconds of use, the power to the motor is interrupted. This is so you know to change to another part of your mouth before continuing to clean. This 'interruption' repeats at 60 seconds and 90 seconds. At the end of the recommended 2 minutes brushing time, the motor is interrupted for a longer time.I was pleasantly surprised although the only thing that lets it down is the rattly noise. It's a small price to pay for putting a smile on your face!

I have been using a Phillips Sonicare toothbrush for some years now, and although I have been happy with its performance, replacement heads are relatively expensive – (a typical price is about £6 each on a popular site). Here is the good news for this toothbrush, as I can get 32 replacement heads for £16 from a different website…..SOwhat is the difference in performance?I have been using this electric toothbrush for a month, and I have noticed no difference between my previous brush and this one. It is perfectly fine. It only has one brushing function, whereas my other one has 5, (Clean, Gum Care, Refresh, Sensitive and Massage), but I regard 4 of them as inconsequential, and I haven’t used them.I was initially put-off a bit by the small size of the head, (the Phillips one has the form of a normal hand-held toothbrush), but I quickly got used to it, in fact I prefer it, as it is easier for me to reach the back of my right molar, where I am prone to some recurrent gingivitis if not careful in my brushing routine. It is rather noisy, but hardly an issue. My conclusion is that it might not be a Rolls-Royce of mouth care, but this Mini gets you to the same place, and is as effective and much more cheaper to maintain. In my opinion, in this instance, simplicity wins over any extra “bells and whistles”.I have no hesitation in giving this a 5 star rating.

Although I already owned a vibrating toothbrush by Braun (pronounced "Brown", like Adolf Hitler's bit of skirt Eva Braun- not "brawn") this one appears to be of the next generation. A kind of captain Jean-Paul Gaultier to the captain James T Kirk of my old brush, if you like. Anyway, times have advanced since my old model and this brush breaks new technological ground- via the inclusion of a light that tells you if the battery is running low. I can't say I've noticed any difference in the practical results compared to the old brush, but it does make a slightly different noise during use. A slightly more modern sounding noise. Oh, by the way,I was in town the other day and I saw three men who had spent too long on sunbeds helping an old lady to cross the road. They were all wearing top hats and tails and looked rather similar, so I asked them if they were brothers- but it turned out that they weren't. Actually, sorry- nevermind that. This is clearly not the time for bringing in "unrelated tan-gents". Anyway, although this particular oral toothbrush doesn't perform notably differently to my old one, what's important is that it's a little bit newer, I didn't have to pay any money to get it and it keeps my teeth feeling so clean that they would probably sparkle in the sunlight (were it not for the fact that teeth simply don't do that, in real life).

The Braun Oral B Pro range of electric toothbrushes are my first foray into the world of electric teeth cleansing and I have to say I wish I had done it much sooner as am convinced that it would have saved me numerous trips to the dentist over the years.Regular tooth brushes do not get into all of the areas that the Oral B are specially designed to do. If like me you indented teeth, that is pointed molars that are set further back than the front teeth, you will know how difficult it is to clean them with a regular toothbrush and these molars have suffered the most over the years requiring dentistry work. The Oral B electric tooth brushes have the perfect shape, angle and rotary motion to get into clean these indented molars. There are also the ideal tool for getting behind and cleaning the rear of your teeth, another prime area were plaque builds up.With some models it is easy to do damage to your teeth and gums if you press to hard with the brush, thankfully though the Oral B pro 600 has a sensor and will alert to excessive pressure by stop the motor at 1 second intervals. After using for just 2 weeks I can feel and see a huge difference so much so that I am starting to regain confidence in my smile once more. I would never be without my Oral B now I will never use a regular toothbrush again, I have been totally converted.

Excellent toothbrush - middle range but I think it is more than sufficient for an electronic toothbrush. Some of the more expensive models come with more buttons and features, but they are definitely superfluous and do not actually add any value to the things that you probably care about - cleanliness, user-friendly, good charging times etc etc. This toothbrush is perfect for all those needs, without having extra costs attached to it (I would recommend it over the most basic version because it comes with a light feature to alert you if you are pressing too hard - which is a very useful feature to have if you are transitioning from a normal toothbrush to an electronic one,as a lot of people press far too hard with their manual toothbrush, so this light feature is definitely a good guide.)This brush comes with one brush head, which can be replaced by buying new ones (they do not have to be oral b - there are much cheaper ones for the same quality available too). This also includes a charger, which is a 2 pin plug, so it will be necessary to buy an adapter if you intend to charge it via a 3 pin wall socket. The charge lasts for a long long time, and it is fine to leave the brush on the charging stand as overcharging is 'impossible'.Would definitely recommend, have got most of my family using this too!
