The Oral B Vitality Plus White and Clean Electric Rechargeable Toothbrush is a really good electric toothbrush that will out perform, clean, polish and get plaque from the gum line better than any manual toothbrush. It is 'chunkier' than many of the new slim line Brauns so it's more of an adult's brush- smaller children and people with smaller hands of that like a slim line version need to look elsewhere.I will give some general tips later in this review. Now the whole shebang comes complete with a smart charging unit.BUT of course you will need to invest in an adaptor plug (one of those you plug this 2 prong thing to convert it into a 3 pronged UK plug)which is not provided. The actual charge time for a twice daily 2 minute clean is just 5 days. This compares poorly with the seven of other brushes. Not such a problem if you are at home but if you take it with you even on a short one week holiday you will need to to cart the charger with you (remember to take the correct adaptor with you)You then must make sure that you fully run down the toothbrush once every six months at least to ensure maximum life from the battery.A mate who was a chemistry teacher (Colin) explained this too me.A rechargeable battery is like a milk bottle. You can refill it a lot of times but if you don't rinse it there is a gradual build up of sludge on the sides- result less milk in the bottle.Similarly with a rechargeable battery you must ensure all the power is used up to be able to fully recharge it and get maximum life out of it.Shaver Adaptor (2pin To 3pin) 1ampSo if it's a gift for some one or even yourself and you do not have an adaptor you will need to get one.In BriefThe Pros2 brush heads compared to the usual mangy one from Braun.'Cup' polishing action. You can get non Oral B heads that fit for a cheap price copiesRechargeableThe NigglesNo settings for the GumsYou need an adapter to connect it to the mains. Now a few tips.1. Only use a pea sized amount of toothpaste.2. Let the brush do its work rather than try to use it like a manual toothbrush as you switch it on. (This one does tend to stall)3. Just rinse your mouth slightly. (The fluoride in the paste will find its way to your teeth better via the body digesting it.)4. If you use a baking soda type toothpaste (like the Arm and Hammer brands rinse your brush well because the soda can attack the plastic of the brush.A down side of the brush is the cost. The heads are also very highly priced. (I was right there when I wrote that)5) Get a cheapo copy of the brush heads. Read a few reviews and get the best one for the right price.BUT and this is coming from a guy who try to save a few bob I can honestly say this electric tooth brush is worth every single penny. If you think of just how much you would miss your teeth when they have gone then thisDon't you think this would be a decent investment in your health?SoIf you want to keep your teeth get an electric toothbrush like this one! Thanks for reading.

This brush is suitable for adults and children aged 3+ and has had a fair workout in our house this week; overall I'd say it does a pretty good job and is worthy of one's consideration.I'd hope most people (including children) use an electric toothbrush; they are so much better at cleaning one's teeth when compared to a manual brush. We've had electric brushes in our household for almost 20 years (eek!) and over that time there are three key points I look for when replacing a brush:How much does it cost? How much are replacement heads? How long is the guarantee? The actual effectiveness in cleaning teeth perhaps comes a surprising fourth; not because I don't care about dental hygiene, but because if one isn't constantly consuming sugar-filed junk and brushes one's teeth regularly, for the correct length of time with a decent toothpaste, then even the most basic brush will keep the teeth in good order.I think this brush represents very good value for money, especially as the guarantee can be extended to three years by registering on-line ... excellent! The replacement brush heads are very reasonably priced and this is very important; if the brush heads are too expensive, it's possible they won't be replaced on time leading to less effective brushing (the whole point of an electric toothbrush really). We have been mostly a Sonicare household in recent years and I think the brushing experience is slightly better than the Oral B. However, the prices for genuine Sonicare brush heads can be prohibitive; especially for the small-sized brushes for the Sonicare Kids ... they are £8 each and last about eight weeks! So this is a no frills, base-model brush and apart from a pulse after two minutes to let the user know they've brushed for the recommended time , that's it ... no thirty-second quadrant pulse ... something I find very useful, especially with children. There's not even an indicator to remind one to recharge the battery, so it would be best if the brush can be permanently stored on its charging base if one's situation permits. So it really is almost as basic as one can get. The battery will last for about twenty minutes on a full charge (about five days on a twice a day routine). However; having said all of that it is an entry-level brush and it's all about keeping the costs down. The base of the brush is quite small and it's prone to falling over if stood on the back of the sink. It designed to be able to lie flat on its back without rolling over; useful if one puts toothpaste on the brush ready for a child to use.Based on my experience with all of the various brushes I'd say this is a good brush that can be used by the whole family. It's supplied with two brush heads and potentially a three year warranty. If I was starting out for the first time, particularly with children in the house, I'd buy this brush and lots of brush heads (and do have a look at the brush head prices compared to the Sonicare).

I have to confess that I have always thought the electric toothbrushes were an unnecessary silly fad. I've only ever had one filling, and my teeth are good and I have always felt a normal toothbrush and regular brushing was enough.Recently my dentist has encouraged me to floss more to get in between the teeth, so I've been trying that to avoid further dental works.I was then given the opportunity to trial this toothbrush and I do have to say that I have been impressed. It seems well made and comfortable to hold. I can't compare it especially against other electric toothbrushes but compared to normal brushing I can.I have to say that my teeth do feel more clean and smooth after brushing. The brush is noticeably better at getting in between the molars and covering the "fangs" well, with its rotating head. This clearly is of benefit, especially if you do have some gaps between the teeth. This particular one comes with a small yellow plastic disc in between the bristles for polishing. I've only used this for a week or two so can't say that I have massively noticed the difference, but my wife thinks that they have worked well on her teeth. You do have to be careful not to push to hard as this can catch your gums slightly and cause discomfort. The toothbrush comes with two heads, which is useful so you can interchange and more than one can use it, otherwise you have a spare brush head. The charging can take several hours, although you can leave it on the base in between brushing to keep the charge topped up.You can change the toothbrush head and use the several different choices from Oral B to suit.Well worth a try if you have never used an electric toothbrush. If you have then I guess you'd need to compare specs and reviews to see how it compares with other ones available.=========EDIT July 2020=========Still working fine over 5 years later proving how well made it is. Replacement heads including compatibles readily available.A good buy![If you found my review helpful I would be really grateful if you would kindly click on 'helpful', many thanks in advance]

I received this product as part of the Amazon Vine programme priced at £17.50 as at the 12th July.+ So what do you get? Surprisingly quite a lot at the price. There is the handle, two brush heads; alone worth around £5.00 and of course the charging unit. Standard fare for an Oral B product.+ I suppose the next question has to be, is it worth it? Surprisingly YES! This is the budget model, but don't let the price put you off, far from it, this product can clean I would suggest 95% as good as the Braun/Oral-B, top of the range product.+ So how does it work? Basically it oscillates/rotates and manually removes the plaque and food debris. The brushes are key to this action and the Oral-B brushes are ideal.I reckon that they last for about two months before the wear indicator gets about half way down and by that point the head is due to change.+ How do I use it? Ideally you should use this brush to clean your teeth twice per day, for two minutes at a time. In this regard the brush "buzzes" every 30 seconds to advise you to change "quadrant" e.g. upper right, next lower right, lower left, upper left; each quadrant gets 30 seconds.+ How well does it clean? Pretty good I would say. You can check by staining the plaque on your teeth using a product known as a disclosing tablet, available from Amazon, these products stain the plaque pink, red, purple; your job is to brush it off. Ideal for children as it stains (temporarily) their tongue purple!+ My gums bleed when I use this product? Usually this is a sign of inflammation and may I suggest that you persevere with brushing. You will not lose a great deal of blood, in fact a tiny amount. It is usually a sign that you have not been cleaning your teeth effectively enough and that is why the inflammation has occurred. So do I recommend it? YES, YES, YES. I really like Oral B products and to be honest, I do feel that this item is so well priced as to make it a bargain. Ideal for children, especially those like my 15 year old who loses his brush regularly at school trips, scout camp etc etc etc.

"Recommended by dentists" it says on the packaging. The packaging itself reflects this – it's just, well, packaging. Very plain, cheap and boring, it's a pain to open and an pain to get everything out, but when it's all unpacked you are looking at a nice toothbrush. It comes with a two pin plug, I'm not sure if shaving plugs are even a standard fitting in a bathroom anymore, so it would be good to see this feature corrected and a standard UK fitting plug used instead, saving the need for a clunky two pin adapter. The brush handle is solid, quite large and with the only feature being the power button, there is no indicator of charge or power, which is something that Braun (Oral-B) could've put in,as you never know how much charge is left before it cuts out. The package includes two brush heads, each with a yellow washer that you need to put on, this I don't get, as it seems like something that could've just been put together during manufacture. The two minute timer works well though. The brush heads supplied are the standard ones and are solid and firm, this brush handle also accepts a couple of alternative heads though, which is nice, so you can opt for a slightly more expensive and better quality head if you want. It would've been nice if two different brush heads were supplied though, for comparison. The noise level is much improved from the previous model, although I see no more differences other than the two minute timer. The bottom rubber of the handle also looks liable to mould like the previous model did when put damp back onto the stand, so make sure it's all dry before doing so.Overall it's a very standard toothbrush, nothing special or cutting edge, unlike what Philips are doing with their Diamond Clean brushes, which are much better than the brush heads here, but with that comes expense, of course. And for the money I think this is a good product.

I’ve been using Oral B brushes for over 20 years, and I know they’re good because my dentist always (jokingly) complains there’s nothing for her to do because there’s never any plaque to clean, She also always praises me on my brushing – and I know it’s not me, it’s the brush.I’ve tried a few of the super fancy, i.e. expensive, Oral B brushes but I find that I just want something with a button to press once for on/off that just cleans my teeth. This particularly model is a lovely basic toothbrush that is perfect for my needs. Oral-B make a variety of brush heads. I generally use the basic round brush head. This unit is supplied with a slightly oval plaque/stain removal brush and it cleans my teeth ok,but when it comes to replacement I’ll go back to my usual basic round brush heads. My dentist certainly seems happy with the job they do.The recommended brushing time is two minutes and a handy timer sounds every 30 seconds to let you know it’s time to move on to the next quarter of your mouth. The handle has a comfortable non-slip grip and the power button falls comfortably under my thumb.I’ve always stored my brushes on the charger, so they are always fully charged. They don’t stand up very well on their own as the base is the narrowest part of the barrel. The charger is equipped with a two-pin shaver type plug so if, like me, you don’t have a bathroom shaver socket then you need a two-pin adapter and your brush will need to live somewhere else. I just don’t keep mine in the bathroom, and I’ve been not keeping it in the bathroom for such a long time that I don’t consider it a problem. This is basically the same brush as the first Oral-B I ever bought, just some cosmetic differences. The charger is smaller, the brush is taller. I like that. Once I’ve found something that works I don’t need it fancying up. I can happily recommend this.

Certainly the very best feature of this Oral B toothbrush is the different head, with it's Cross Action heads, which really do help to get into every nook and cranny, between teeth and gum-lines. My teeth really do feel very clean and it is such a simple additional feature (the bristles of the brush not all being lined up, but multi-directional), but seems to be very effective. The shape of the brush handle is different from my previous Braun Oral B brush - it is a tall tapered shape with a ridged back for the purpose of improved grip. I'm not a massive fan of this brush shape, as previous models which I have purchased have had more stable bases, which is good if I want to stand it up in the bathroom (rather than keeping it on the charger, which is in my bedroom) - the shape makes it feel a bit top heavy and whilst it is not unstable, this doesn't improve its stability. I'm not a massive fan of the ridged grip and I prefer a simple rubberised section for grip, but it's not a bad design, just not my preference.I like the usual features of the "stop-start-stop-start" indicator to let you know that you have brushed for 2 minutes and I like the fact that it comes complete with 2 brush heads in the back. I miss having the light on the front which shows you when you need to recharge your brush (before it stops working) and which shows you when it is charging, which is available on other models of Oral B toothbrush (and other makes) This ought to be a standard feature as far as I am concerned.Overall, this is a Braun Oral-B electric toothbrush which is one of the best electric toothbrush brands in my opinion. The heads are brilliant, but the body is unremarkable - just a basic one and it seems to be an adult version of the Disney Avengers one we have for one of my children. I like it, but I don't love it - hence the 4 star rating.

When I first used this brush I thought it was odd as it felt as though the brush was loose and it was quite noisy. It felt like my old brush did when it was losing power. After I got used to the loose feel and the way the brush felt I found it cleaned my teeth much more thoroughly than my previous brush. It gets right behind my wisdom teeth which the other rush seemed to constantly miss.I think the rather weird shaped brush with it bristles around the edge and the other shaped central bristles makes for a better clean that the old Oral B one with bristles the same all around the brush. The odd wobbly feel is the effect which is created to break up plaque and so far I have been remarkable impressed with the clean, smooth feel after I have cleaned my teeth. The old brush just rotated while this seems to rotate a lot faster as well as kind of pulsating. I still occasionally use the old brush and so have an instant comparison. This one cleans in a vastly superior way almost smoothly squeaky clean compared to just a good clean. The brush can with just the one brush head which I think is a bit mean, most other brushes we have bought have come with two brush heads. I have managed to win the brush head and so far my husband has not bothered getting a second brush head for him, he seems happy with the old brush. This brush is of course rechargeable using the charger that came with the brush base. It has just the two prongs that fit in a shaver socket. If you don’t have a shaver socket you need to get an adapter for a three pin socket. The handle is rounded and comfortable to hold, it is easy to switch on and off with a moulded button that you feel on the handle. The handle is slightly bigger to hold in my hand but I actually find it more comfortable because if its shape which not perfectly round.

As far as electric toothbrushes go, this is just as good as many others on the market in terms of it's cleaning ability, despite it being aimed at the budget market. I'm not the type of person who demands the whitest of teeth and accordingly, I can't really tell much difference between the cleaning ability of a cross-action head and a 3D white head but they all seem to do a decent job, in my view. It does take a little bit of getting used to, as it is quite different from a manual toothbrush, but different doesn't necessarily mean bad.On the plus side, this package includes 2 toothbrush heads, which makes a change from the usual offering where perhaps only 1 is provided. Having said that, replacements work out around £3 per head, which isn't dissimilar to that of a manual Oral-B cross-action toothbrush (which is what I have historically used). You will note that the product page tries to extol the virtues of 3D cleaning over 2D cleaning (this product is a 2D variant), but having used both, all I can say is that I got rather annoyed with the 3D variant (I'm not sure whether this was due to 3D or if it was just trying to be too clever). In general terms, 3D cleaning means that the toothbrush pulsates as well as oscillating and rotating but I can't say I noticed any difference in cleaning ability. One thing that I would say is that I haven't been completely convinced by the arguments of electric toothbushes as in general, I find them more uncomfortable to use, primarily because of the very small brush head, which is much harder to keep in the position it should be. However, if you are one of the people who manages with this aspect perfectly fine, then there is no reason why you shouldn't consider this model - after all, why pay a load more for fancy features which don't make any difference?

I became a convert to electric toothbrushes a few years ago and since then don't like normal toothbrushes as I feel they don't clean as thoroughly .This toothbrush comes complete with two heads and is the combination of 2 existing products - the oral b vitality toothbrush and the oral B cross action .Personally I feel it delivers in every count - it does thoroughly clean your teeth , no fancy gadgets , lights etc just a good old rapid through clean - in a way not possible with a normal toothbrush -as its 2d cross action brushes at rapid strokes.Your teeth are minty clean after . It also doesn't sound like you are in the bathroom with a grass cutting mower as since its newer technology it worksfaster and quiter. You can change the brush heads depending on your needs and its compatible with a lot of the other oral b heads - so if your got sensitive teeth, dentures , like a hard or soft brush you can get what suits . Brush heads can be dear but if you shop around and keep your eye on prices of bulk packs on Amazon you can get a deal from a seller.Next charging it comes with the standard charger and the good news if you have existing toothbrushes in your household with chargers it may fit these too -in my case It fits my older model charger . I'm also very lazy at charging - the number of times that the toothbrush runs out during mid brushing is pretty high with me , but this holds a good charge for several days .Price wise it's great - especially as this product comes with the extra two brush heads , and you have the additional bonus if a 3 year guarantee .If your looking for a toothbrush I would highly recommend this -unless you fancy a robo cop of lightening up gagdets this is a versatile brush that definitely delivers all your needs.

I'm probably WAY behind the times here, but this is the very first electric toothbrush I've ever owned. I don't know why, specifically, only that they've always seemed a bit expensive and I've been using a good old fashioned toothbrush my whole life and have managed to keep my teeth pretty well. However, Amazon vine offered me this electric toothbrush to try and review, so I thought, "Well, why not". I have to admit, I wish I'd made the switch before because going from a manual toothbrush to an electric toothbrush is like going from a child's scooter to a motorbike. They are worlds apart and the lovely clean feeling I've got in my mouth after a few minutes with this Oral B Vitality Plus toothbrush lasts for much, much longer than the old fashioned toothbrush which relied upon elbow power. It comes with a recharging station which plugs into a two-pronged shaving port (important to know, as not everyone has them in their bathroom), which keeps your toothbrush ready for action at all times. It also comes with two toothbrush heads, so that when you've worn the first one out, you have another ready while you order/buy replacements. There is a built in timer (two minutes) which lets you know when you've brushed your teeth for the recommended minimum time, but - if you're anything like me - you will still want to keep going a bit longer anyway.Apologies for those prior electric toothbrush owners who want a review to contrast and compare models; this review is more about the revelation of going from manual to electric than the fineries of electric toothbrush ownership. I would, however, urge anyone considering a switch from the old fashioned way to an electric model to take the leap. The difference is amazing.

This is Oral B's budget electric brush and it certainly shows in the packaging and the amount of stuff you get in the box.The box houses a polystyrene holder that contains the main brush, a box with the stand and 2 pin plug in and 2 brush heads, along with a thin instruction booklet (more a piece of paper than a booklet). The brush comes with some charge but it's recommended that it's charged fully before the first use to get the best from the battery. The brush itself is basic in design, it has an on-off button and no lights on the front. There is a timer but all this does is make a different vibration every 30 seconds so that you know to change to the next quarter of your teeth. The brush heads are the ones that have the soft yellow polishing head on, but you can buy other types. This brush accepts the 4 main brush heads that Oral B do for their whole range of toothbrushes. It's worth noting that a 2 pin shaver plug comes as standard, as it does on all electric toothbrushes. The reason for this is that you are not supposed to have a mains plug in the bathroom and most people have a shaver adaptor on the wall, so this is designed to recharge the brush from that adaptor, not from a mains socket. That said, adaptors to charge from a wall socket are available for less than a couple of pounds from most big supermarkets, DIY stores or Amazon themselves.Does it work, though? Yes, just as well as most other brushes, even ones twice the price. The heads are designed well enough that the budget brush design doesn't impede the brushing in any way. Yes, other brushes may have more features and modes, but this is perfect as a first electric brush and does the job admirably.

There are so many Oral-B toothbrushes on the market, I find it slightly confusing. This Vitality Plus Cross Action sits at the bottom end of the range, with fairly a fairly basic set of functions, that never the less cover most of your teeth cleaning needs. A 2 minute Timer, A Daily Clean programme, and it will hold enough charge to last you at least a week. Braun supply their brushes with 2 pin Euro plugs, so you will need an adapter or a shave socket in the UK.This Vitality model has a 2D brushing action, whereas the models further up the range are 3D ... in Braun's own words ... The Oral-B Vitality electric toothbrush features 2D cleaning action that cleans in two ways – oscillates and rotates – to remove more plaque than a regular manual toothbrush. However, when you upgrade to our other electric toothbrushes, you can experience the superior cleaning power of 3D cleaning action that oscillates, rotates, and pulsates for up to 100% more plaque removal.* Whether you would notice the difference, I don't know. This Vitality Plus is supplied with Cross Action heads which are angled bristles set at 16 degrees to cup each tooth for a better cleaning vs. a regular manual toothbrush. All I know is that they do a good job at keeping your teeth squeaky clean and getting rid of plaque. You can get a variety of heads to suit your needs, and most come in at about the same price as a good quality manual brush.I think for the money you can get a better spec Oral B tooth brush if you want more features, and you can always buy additional CrossAction heads as replacement.

Braun Oral-B seem to release so many different toothbrushes it's hard to keep up, or to tell the difference between them. This Vitality Plus CrossAction version is a one of Oral-B's more basic electric toothbrushes married with a couple of the newer CrossAction brush-heads, which makes for a perfectly serviceable combo. The brush itself is simple but effective and is quite lightweight with a good shape, wider at the top, which makes it easy to hold and manoeuvre. There are no indicator lights onboard, not even to show when it's charging or recharged, and there's just a single timer which gives a couple of pulses after 2 minutes to advise you that you've been brushing for the recommended time. The brush motor is quieter than some with a more high-pitched buzz than I'm used to hearing and it seems to run at a good speed and with sufficient strength - you can get a faster and more powerful brush if you spend a bit more but this is perfectly adequate and doesn't seem to be under any strain. A full battery charge takes 16 hours but should last a good few days before needing topped up again - Oral-B claim a full charge lasts 7 days but I suspect your brush would be very weakened by the end of that week, although it should last a long weekend away without any problem. Generally it's best to keep these brushes on the charging base all the time, if it's practical to do so, then you get a full-speed and full-strength clean every time. The CrossAction brush-heads were are new variation to me, I hadn't tried them before, and they're much like the more standard standard

Oral-B Pro Vitality Plus Cross Action Electric Rechargeable ToothbrushThis is a basic, no frills rechargeable toothbrush - the type most dentists and hygienists recommend. It lacks the multi programmes of more expensive models but it does the same thing. If you want an all singing and dancing brush, there is one for you but you will pay over £100 for it. Some of the features and programmes are useful on these top models but not essential. So ask yourself why spend the higher amount. At the end of the day it's a toothbrush and used properly will do just as well as the more expensive models. Listed at £40 but (as usual) discounted by 50% to just below £20 makes it a "no brainer".The cleaning action is the same as the other models i.e. rotates and also up and down and has the usual 2 minute timer that signals each 30 seconds as a guide to help you cover the four sections - inside and out, upper and lower. Really you don't need more. One omission I did find noticeable was the lack of a charging light. Not so much to show the charge was running down (the motor noise will tell you that) but these brushes can take 24 hours to charge and it is really useful knowing when the charging ends.So apart from the charging light, this brush carries out all the necessary functions you will need demonstrating you don't need to spend a fortune to get the best cleaning action. Recommended ? Yes but that would apply to any model Oral B / Braun toothbrush - just choose which one suits your requirement and pocket - they all do a great job.
