Have just received this, a day ahead of estimated delivery, and I am really pleased with my purchase.The recorder feels solid - not like the flimsy, plasticky thing I'd ordered first; and it looks good too.I don't like gadgets where you need a degree in electronic engineering to work out how to use the thing, and although this is certainly not quite as straightforward as my old Olympus voice recorder (which is not compatible with W8) I did manage to set the display time (after a couple of false starts) and work out how to record, playback and erase very quickly (these are the main functions I require). The sound quality of my test recording was excellent and I know it will be fine for what I need.The box came with quite a nice little protective cover,

The DM-450 is an excellent device: compact and versatile. The only feature I would have liked to see would have been the ability to use the internal memory as well as, rather than instead of, the external socket. But that's only a minor point. My major beef was with Amazon. All the Olympus literature shows the DM-450 as being supplied with a CS-126 case, which doubles as a stand and includes a tripod bush. My DM-450 came with a pathetic apology for a case which is only marginally better than useless. No doubt Amazon sourced the DM-450s it is selling from a different market. I complained. After three and a bit weeks the correct case arrived. Anyway, on to performance. I have found it excellent for recording meetings,

I was told by my friend that she has got one and it is really good. I have purchased this item, to record my toughts on food and ideas and so far so good. It is easy to use, no brain storming menu, just had to buy a memory card separately. I have put so much info, music and already did record one three days course. Great sound, obviously u can ajust all settings on your demand. Great purchase, for a great value. I recommend for those who is a begginer to recorders.!Thank you

I purchased one of these after the good reviews as I was organising focus groups of my dissertation and it was vitally important that I used a quality sound recorder. This did not disappoint, it was able to pick up sound perfectly with a table with nine people around it. It was a breeze to transfer the sound from the device to the computer and the folder system on the device is useful for numerous recordings.

Delivery time excellent. Product excellent. Batteries, sealed in plastic, which came with DM-450 were on less than half power and ran down within one hour of use (while setting up and learning how to operate machine). Why include batteries at all if they are either sub-standard or already run down? One wonders how long the product had been sitting in inventory.

Brilliant machine, excellent quality, but a little complicated on the controls. Most folk would be happier with a less co,pled machine for simple dictation, but for quality stereo recordings it holds up against my £200 Tascam DR-1. Condition and delivery exactly as offer. Many thanks

Very well made.Good ergonomics.Simple enough interface.Works very well to make notes, also with the Software supplied (update via web to latest version) you can also download podcasts the player - very useful when travelling to have podcasts fully loaded up!

A reliable machine and very handy for my college work and lectures. Compact and battery last ages, such great sound quality and really user friendly.Shop around as the prices may vary and they can be expensive, but you get what you pay for!

I was looking for a voice recorder which can be use easily for a visually impair person. Also I wanted to transfer the reorded file to the computer via USB. This one was the best option also we could save almost £50 bu buying from CBM Store.

Haven't used it much yet, but it seems well designed and compact. Even though I am somewhat allergic to technology, I have managed to work out how to record, play back, and erase with no problem.

This digital voice recorder is used for recording choir practise. It has a comfortable solid body, is easy to use and produces excellent reproduction of sound.
