The included batteries were dead on arrival, but once I put in fresh batteries it worked just fine. I would recommend downloading the pdf manual from the Philips website. The instructions that came with this are too brief. Everything said, I think this is a good little recorder. Once you know how to use it. The recorder fits nicely in the hand and the quality of the Wav recordings are very good. The mic sensitivity is also good. The recorder is a one touch record and stop, then hit play. Very easy to record and play back recordings. I purchased this because Philips is a well known brand. The record button doubles as an ok button. Once your understand this, changing menu options and deleting files is a breeze.

Firstly the instructions provided are too brief and don't make it clear that you need to attach it to your laptop to download fuller instructions. They are hot perfect but with them and trial and error you eventually get. Worth persevering though because it is a great little piece if kit. I use it for making notes and recording conversations at meetings. The sound quality is very good and it is small and ver light to put in your pocket or bab.

Cheapest but good quality to represent its Brand. If you keep the battery inside, it may drain. Need to remove after every use. The sound is noseless and good quality. It has an external mic input jack, that's a plus point to get six stars for the price range. The battery is removable, that's another plus point. It's not a mobile phone. It's a recorder, so we expect it to have ways to charge its battery.

This is a handheld recording and playback machine, that doesn't use any physical tape as it's digital.The recordings can be uploaded to a pc should you wish to, handy if you need to take oral notes and have someone else type them up. You can email the digital recordings, making it perfect for the current climate of home working.Great price, great quality.

This is great for the price and just what I needed for making voice notes in the car. It has a red light which is constant when recording and blinking when on pause, so it is clear when it is recording. The only thing I didn't realise is that it takes disposable batteries, whilst other models use rechrageable, which is more environmentally friendly.

Bought this has a gift for friend who is dyslexic... when worked out the basics of using. You'll need to have a play around and can download better instructions off line easily. Friend says its great and has helped with note taking and writing reports. Great little recorder for the price

For basic dictation/recordings this is great. Paid £15 which is very cheap for what it does.As previous reviewers have mentioned the included batteries died pretty quickly which suggests these may be old stock but this is really a very minor niggle.Nice product

Good quality for the price ..but you must download the manual as everything is hard to follow as it's in German..even looking on YouTube for instructions is in German.Apart from that it's not bad at all.

The unit is small and discrete to handle and use.The controls are simple in use and replay.Four folders with up to five seperate files. Up to 40+ hours recording if required

A fantastic little dictaphone, sound quality is not bad considering some of these are a hundred pounds and this was under twenty so rock on Tommy!

Works fine for me. Once you accept that there will be a small delay between pressing the record button and recording starting its fine.

Out side surveying and recording defects to files. Straight to the computer easy. Full traffic areas and I still sound clear.

use the record button to hold a setting in after holding down menu to go into the settings and up and down to change values
