Update: In April 2019, I did buy this 43" monitor and at a price below £500. I was kind of worried about a few negative reviews indicating quality problems but so far, I touch wood, everything works fine. There are people who claim that a 43" monitor is too big but for me I have NOT experienced that at all. I use 150% in Windows 10 and for me this monitor is NOT too big at all. In fact, I could even see myself using a bigger monitor than 43" (as Acer has a 48" I believe). The very cool thing about having a 43" monitor is that if you want to watch a movie or a TV series, this size is perfect for that.I am not a gamer but it is a dream for gamers to use a 43" monitor.I might buy a flight simulator such as X-Plane 11 and a 43" monitor is really a big plus for this kind of game. When you get use to using a 43" monitor, it would be a big pain for me to get a smaller monitor. It is really an amazing, great experience. So, do not listen people who claim that a 43" monitor is too big, those people have never spend a few days using one.The Philips support is not that great but so far I did not have to call them much, just to ask details on a few things even though my monitor works fine.---------------------------------------------------What is written below was written when this 43" monitor was simply too expensive.THE PRICE SHOULD BE AT £500 MAXIMUM!!Currently, the price of this monitor is outrageous, simply way over-priced!! It should be at £500 maximum, not a penny more!!If Philips does not change their price in the coming months, I will buy a different and yet similar monitor but at a much more reasonable price, not at such an outrageous price!!On the 1st May 2016 (barely at the beginning of the period it started being sold in the US), this same monitor at Amazon.com US was at $800 that is at £548!!!Check it out yourself: Amazon.com: Philips BDM4350UC 43-Inch Class IPS-LED Monitor, 4K Res, 300cd/m2, 5ms, 50M:1 DCR,VGA,HDMI(2),DP(2),USB 3.0,Spk: Computers & Accessories at http://www.amazon.com/Philips-BDM4350UC-43-Inch-IPS-LED-Monitor/dp/B01E18XRY2Therefore, what I say above that this monitor should be at £500 MAXIMUM has been confirmed just barely at the very beginning of the period during which it started selling!!---------------------------------------------------

My criteria for finding the right monitor needed the following:- usb c connectivity for display and charging- 49” monitor- 5120x1440 resolution (emphasis on 1440)- good screen quality- good for multi taskingI came across a YouTube video that was highlighting an ultra wide monitor. I previously had a 34” one and thought that was pretty cool but realisistically it was too small for work as a replacement for two monitors. So hence the 49”.Could I have got 2 2k monitors, yep... it would have been a similar experience however I love that there’s no bezel in the middle, it’s one giant screen. I also love using power toys (can download from github from Microsoft)for screen snapping which is awesome for multitasking. The usb c hub is great for my laptop. Works as expected. The ports available are good although I needed more USB ports. So I bought a monitor arm so it removes the big sturdy metal stand that came with it and has a hub built in. Pretty awesome.Picture quality is great. Because the monitor is so big you need to sit a bit further back. There’s also a setting to reduce blue light. I genuinely have noticed that my eyes feel less strained with this enabled. There are speakers built into it but I doubt if you’re buying this you’d buy it for sound and would 100% recommend getting desktop speakers. The webcam is novel and not great quality, I’d recommend going for an external one.I would definitely recommend this monitor. A colleague has it and my partner and her company also use this. It’s reliable and whilst expensive certainly a beautiful eye catching monitor.

For the price (paid appr 550 $ offsite) this monitor is a bargain. I replaced my old 30” Mac display and now use the BDM4350 alongside a 32” Philips monitor and the real estate makes graphic work and video editing a breeze. Its not a very fast monitor with a “basic” 60hz, so if youre looking for a super smooth gaming experience you probably want something more dedicated. Colors, contrast and gamut are nice without being in the same league as high end graphics monitors. But - if you work with photo, video or art and do some occasional gaming this monitor is a steal.Screen is relatively glossy - not a problem in a dark(ish) room, so think about where you’ll place it before purchasing. There is no built-in tilt or swivel, but you can easily tilt it a few degrees if needed by putting smth under its rear feet.No burn-in or ghosting issues so far, so perhaps Philips has upgraded the quality. Time will tell.

Good budget option - probably your best bet for office work, and the resolution is just about perfect. You can more or less see pixels, but at the back of a decent sized desk this is the right distance away. The drawbacks include the burn-in issue, which is a real fault on this monitor. I haven't had anything burn in permanently yet, but it's early days and I haven't left it on all day by accident yet. The burn-in I've seen after an hour or so disappears after a while. The 30Hz issue (on HDMI 1.4) is not a problem for office work at all - mouse is responsive enough and there is no perceptible flicker.UPDATE: After a couple of weeks, I'm less concerned about burn in.It's slightly annoying when a window persists faintly, but at least on my monitor the burn in is only temporary, and I've stopped noticing or caring about it (you only see it when shutting down, usually).

(same model purchased from another vendor)I've had this monitor for 14 months in a work environment and have been pleased.I have not experienced any burn-in issues. There are image artefacts (rows of flickering pixels) that pepper the background image, but rarely the foreground windows. It did this with both video cards (nVidia 730 and nVidia 1080Ti) but was less noticeable when connected with a DisplayPort cable. The sheer size of the monitor presents its own issues. There is vignetting toward the edges simply because the viewing angle changes ( I sit about 60cm from the screen). Background glare is more of an issue because more background is sampled. But that's more of a consideration on any large screen. On the flip side, the abundance of real estate has removed the need for a dual-montor setup which provides less functionality at a comparable price.

Had this now for three weeks and it is brilliant. No problems with burn in or ghosting but I have been careful about adhering to the Philips instructions on using screen saver and sleep mode. This resolution allows perfect windows performance with usable icons etc. Brilliant in Lightroom. All those Raw pictures I took are amazing. Some gaming very good. I think this is the current sweet spot for monitors but it is BIG and you might need to adjust your physical desk space which I have done. Supplied stand not good better to use a VESA wall mount.

Bought this item from another retailer for £516 approx 2 months ago as it was cheaper than Amazon at the time. Read the reviews about the image burn issue however I can quite happily say I've tried to re-create the issue based on the other reviewers timings but have been unable to. Overall an excellent monitor, perfect for development or e-learning due to the 4 window snap feature. Games look amazing on this, running a GTX970 and Skyrim/Witcher 3 need to be seen to be believed. Moved from 2 x 24" 1080p Samsungs and won't look back!

a perfect Montitor, a warer dream so every day to work, there are different modes of working, film, photo-processing, and thus a proper relaxation for the eyes, I'm mega happy with it and had previously a MAC Screeen and never change back to this.the built-in 3.0 USB Hub works very well, but the connection is not present USB Cabel.

@jack dThe 4K or 5k monikers are not standards. UHD or ultra hd is. Home entertainment adopted the 3840x2160 where as cinemas use wider resolution or 4096x2160. Which is where the name 4K first came from the number of horizontal pixels. Therefore this monitor is 5k but not UHDThanks

Has everything one can want from a monitor. great size and resolution, super clear images. The only downside is that the screen is quite reflective, so it's best not to have a light behind you when working
