I took delivery of this item just one day after I placed my order, which was and excellent service. However, reviews are about the product and not the company, so here goes.The good points:1 -- Wide selection of sleeve diameters are availbel that will satisfy most needs.2 -- Very efficient dust extraction system.3 -- Several grades of grit sleeves available at a reasonable price.4 -- Very easy to change sleeves using just a single nut on top of the shaft.The not-so-good points:1 -- Some reviewers have marked down this machine because it has no tilting table. Well, that is unfair because, like me, they knew that no tilting capability was available when they ordered.

Its cheap but it ain't nasty. This bobbin sander is sold under several brand names but the Triton badged one seems to be the cheapest by far.It is an excellent machine, sturdily built and using the supplied (80 grit) sanding sleeves really does remove wood to whatever shape or line you want. You can purchase 150 grit sleeves (Amazon cheapest) which leave an excellent finish and the sleeves themselves are high quality. Although it is noisy because it is a brushed rather than an induction motor, the oscillating mechanism is very effective in spreading the sanding surface and when a dust extractor is fitted there is absolutely no dust left on the cast iron table.The cast iron table should be protected by either lubricating wax or household polish to prevent rust but the plastic body,

This has proved to be an invaluable tool that is the natural 'go-to' tool after my band saw, whether I'm shaping something in wood or plastic. Easy to use, easy to buy replacement sanding drum sets and the dust extraction port works well via an improvised connection to my Henry vacuum. After about 10 months of light use the sander suddenly sparked and stopped working. A bit of panic later (it's only when it fails that you realise just HOW dependant on it you've become!) and Triton took it back and repaired it. Good as new, no problem since. To be honest, when I was negotiating the recall / repair I had in my mind that the sander cost twice what it actually did cost...

Prompt delivery of accurately described item. Very easy to use and the dust extraction facility works very well indeed when a vac is connected securely. Tape is all that's needed for a perfect seal if the hose doesn't already fit securely. Buy cheap rolls of electrician's tape rather than gaffer tape. You can buy loads at any cheapo market tool store or the like.This would be a perfect score if there were an adaptor for a hose and (seeking perfection) there were somewhere to store the unused washer as it could be mislaid. Triton is a victim of its own innovation here because there is actually a very well thought out place for the other parts.

I've wanted a bobbin sander for a while as there's no real substitute. A solidly made machine and great value at £109. This same machine is marketed in various brand identities with huge variation in price. This is the cheapest version I could find.My only criticism is the up/down stroke of the spindle could be longer to help even out wear to the abrasive sleeve however a parallel sided block of wood under the workpiece is almost as good (and then turn the sleeve over).As it doesn't get a lot of regular use, rather than screw down to a bench I've fitted a base board that can be clamped to my work bench and then put away when not needed.

This doesn't do quite as I had hoped. The inset round the spindle doesn't sit flush with the rest of the table top. This limits the size of the wood you can use it to sand, you cannot use it on small pieces of wood as they tend to get stuck this in turn affects the finish you can get. When the wood gets stuck you loose the smooth finish on the line you are sanding.I had hoped to use mine on scroll saw projects which tend to be smaller. The smallest spindle is fine for this, its just the inset round the spindle that limits its versatility.If your doing large projects its fine.

I have seen these being used on TV for years but I thought I would never be able to afford to buy one for my workshop, then I saw this on the Amazon website. Triton make some well priced tolls, not to a Rolls Royce standard but good enough for a hobby shop. Now I have used the sander I must say I was wrong, the sander is every bit as good as many much more expensive. It has a cast table and is very robust. It is actually much better than I expected and at the price one of the best buy tools on the market.

This is a very solid piece of kit - I have not had the chance to try it but I'm pretty impressed with all Triton products I've bought to date - It is slightly bigger than I thought - and as I am taking it overseas, it will not fit into my suitcase with the box but the box-size is within the H-W-D check-in luggage dimensions :) The sanding spindles are large and quite bespoke - do make sure you buy enough sanding tubes to last a while - just in case they are hard to come-by.Can't wait to try it out :)

I am very pleased with the product.Not used it to its full potential yet, although I will.Very nice surprise that the flat bed is cast iron It looks heavy plastic in the photos.May be I had not read it correctly in the discription Either. Very pleased so far.Update : This is something I should have purcased years ago it is a great bit of kit.

A good, sturdy bit of kit. Exactly as advertised which I should have taken more notice of. This is a lot bigger than I had anticipated. However, it is still a nice, easy to use, easy to set up and will do a perfect job. I have used this item for wood, plastic, leather, the possible uses are endless. I would recommend highly.

I wasn't too sure about buying this as my last spindle sander was a JET JBOS-5 one.. which I absolutely loved..and so did the Bas..rd who stole it from me..along with other machinery..but anyway.I'm so glad I did its very good machine..only problem is the insurts sit just below the table top but apart from that ..very happy

A really 5 star item.I was surprised at the size & weight a really solid item and quiet the 80 grit sleeves supplied cut the wood away fast. for smaller work 150 grit and 240 are available on ebay.This a great bit of kit and I highly reconmend it.

Bought this on offer for under £120. Excellent value and does what says it does. I bought it for my wife who has wanted one for years. Very happy and many Husband points awarded. 3D printed an adapter to attach our Henry vacuum for dust extraction.

Simple to use and easy to set up out of the box, this edge sander does exactly what it's supposed to in a small footprint.The table is dead flat and square to the sanding shaft and the various diameter rubbers are easy to install and set up.

Big, heavy, solid and rather noisy. Does the job very well. Good quality of sand papers.The washers came smaller and did not fit the spindle, but i fixed them easily with a dremel.Quality control should be paying more attention to this.
