My old long slot Morphy Richards toaster finally died after giving me years and years of use. It has been dying for about 2 years, but shouldered valiantly on. I didn't replace it earlier because I couldn't find a 4 slice long slot toaster that was deep enough to take a normal slice of bread. When it finally died, I started the long, long search for a replacement. I finally read a review that recommended this toaster to fit a normal slice of toast. I didn't really want this style because it takes up more worktop surface, however, a toaster that toasts my whole slice was more important to me than worktop surface! OK, I have only just started using the toaster,so can't comment on durability or reliability (other than my last toaster from Morphy Richards lasted for maybe 10 years or more), but I will say, I have fallen in love with toast all over again. This has given me the best toast I've had in years. I like my toast lightly done, not dry and crispy...and this so far, has given me perfect results. I love the fact that I can toast 2 slices independently from the other 2. The crumb trays are easy to access and pull out. The colour is the perfect colour for my autistic son whose favourite colour is red! The controls are easy to understand and feel robust. The push down lever is easy to use, and again, feel robust. But the best thing for me is it gives me toast that is divine!!! You can tell I'm middle aged...to get excited over a toaster!!!! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I have refused to get a toaster for sometime now as Iv always used my grill. Too stubborn I guess. Realising how having a toaster in my life is what Iv missed, I’m glad my bf researched toasters and now I have this Morphy Richards 4 slice cylon in my kitchen taking up room where I would normally have crumbs. No more crumbs coz this baby collects it for me with its hidden tray. (I spill a few crumbs and the toaster isn’t perfect but generally it has collected the majority of crumbs). I’m a big fan of toasted bagels. Iv tried all of the settings and what I like about the adjustable knobs is that it clicks betweeen the numbers. If I don’t want a setting 2 or a full 3,I can click between and I found my perfect bagel toasting setting. (Glad I read that coz predictive text just text ‘roasting’ setting!) (Predictive texting :( )I love this toaster. I have a black theme going on in my kitchen and this was just even more a delight to welcome to the brand as I also seem to have Morphy Richard’d my kitchen...(just literally noticed this..)Frozen bread-not a problem. Reheat quickly-bring it on. I’m sure if I put sausages in the toaster it would don the bandana and say ‘ok...stop right there lady coz I toast...not grill’ No more waffling...sorry! Oh yeah and waffles too...perfect settings for all toasting preferences. I love my toaster! I hope this helps with your toaster research. I’d recommend :) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This toaster has a very pleasing appearance, reminiscent of kitchen appliances of the past, although I'm not sure that toasters specifically from years ago ever actually looked like this.Anyway the Morphy Richards Evoke not only looks cool but it works really well. the toasting settings are consistent with very little variation in browning from slice to slice. The travel of the toast 'holders' is long enough so that the whole slice of bread gets toasted and the top isn't missed and it 'pops up' high enough that you can retrieve small things like muffins without having to resort to fishing around with tongs. It also has useful 'eject' and 'defrost'buttons which do exactly what you would expect from them. The removable crumb trays seem to collect pretty much all the, well, crumbs with hardly any sticking to the angled base of the toasting slot. The toaster is also nice and compact, unlike some 'retro' models where the design appears to be influenced by the (over)engineering of Isambard Kingdom Brunel. So overall it works well, looks good and should fit pretty much anywhere you wish to put it in the kitchen.

This is a really nice toaster. Despite being a 4-slice toaster, it's surprisingly compact, and is about 4cm narrower than our last 4-slice toaster. It looks great, and one of my favourite aspects of the toaster is the weight - it's really solid, and doesn't skid across the worktop when nudged accidentally. There are two crumb trays, which are useful when it comes to cleaning, but they are located at the back of the toaster, meaning you have to move it out whenever you want to pull them out. Not a big deal, but would have been handier if they were located at the front or side.It makes toast very well, with as even a cooking as you're likely to get from a toaster. It also cooks pretty quickly, certainly quicker than our last toaster, so take care when first using it.There is also a matching kettle available in the Morphy Richards 'Evoke' range, so if you are looking to pair it up with that, the two look great together. There's a range of colours available, but we've got the matt black/rose gold version, which look fantastic and is very on-trend at the moment.

Bought the above toaster and it toasts very evenly and consistently. I like that there are separate buttons for each side, so allows for two different settings at the same time. Cleans up nicely, although the press bread down pads on the front are plastic and mark easily.Real negative for me, is the short cable. Made even shorter as it starts under the FRONT (!!) of the toaster, so you lose quite a bit of cable going under the toaster (via back or side) to your nearest plug socket, which for most people would be BEHIND the toaster!! You can't even turn the toaster around to make the cable longer because the front of the toaster obviously has the controls on it. If you pull the cable behind the toaster, you have 18" of cable free. Sounds plenty, but not if you move it away from under your units to avoid the heat damaging them, or you have badly placed sockets. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This is a stylish-looking toaster which delivers on the whole but has a couple of niggles. Like most 4 slice toasters you have control over two separate sets of two slots. As a family we've long had a 4 slice toaster, even though we actually seldom use all four at the same time. As usual the browning controls will take a little time to get used to but once you've found your perfect setting they remain consistent. I wish the slots were slightly wider. There's plenty of depth and no need to have the ability to push the slots up to retrieve things as the bottom of the slot sits quite high when up. Standard bread toasting is fine but thicker bagels, hot cross buns etc are only just fitting in and I don't want to be sticking things into the slot to retrieve anything. The power cable is quite short too so make sure you have a socket in the right place. The price is a little on the high side I think.

The main reason you will probably be considering this toaster is the design , and your right to do so . It’s very stylish and modern looking . An unusual blend of black with rose coloured aceents on it .I have had a 4 toaster Murphy Richards toaster before and this feels very similar, modern design , easy to use and quite large .This toaster isn’t for small , petite kitchens . It has the usual setting of defrost, cancel , and takes reasonable sized slices of bread &it is also large enough to take toastie pockets and bagels .Has various heating settings and works well . The crumb tray is a bit crumby in that it can jam, is at the wrong angle an di still get the crumbs over the worktop .Personally I think it’s lovely and has received a few envious comments, mostly what you are paying for is the stunning design and the quality , and this delivers on both .

I just brought this product today, I must admit not that I need it, but it caught my eyes in the shop because it looked so stylish! I convinced myself that is matching my old red kettle, (Morphy Richards of course). True to design, they make a beautiful pair on my kitchen's worktop. To my surprise the bread slice was evenly toasted, and the bread still soft enough to enjoy eating it! I played with the warm up setting and it was just perfect! I never had a toaster with defrost facility! (To be honest, i only had one toaster before). My new one feels like the Bentley of toasters! What I like the most is that there was no electrical burning smell and no crumbs burning smoke to set off my fire alarm....I feel that the 4 slice toasters and I will be getting on just fine, and for a long way! !! This is a good toaster. As you would expect with a four slice, you do need to be aware it has a footprint and you're going to be sacrificing some kitchen counter space, but for a normal family I guess you expect to make space for a toaster. Although it is a four slice it is important to note that there are two independent mechanisms for two slices each. So if your wife has two slices already toasting when you come down, you can start your own two slices without having to wait for the end of her cycle. If a toaster needed instructions I would chuck it out. This doesn't. The three buttons are for 'cancel' 'reheat' and 'toast from frozen'. You can also have each 'two slice' on different heat settings (1-5).There is a pull out tray for cleaning. Finally, it actually looks quite good. We've a modern kitchen and this looks tidy in it.

This toaster is available in three different stylish colours/shades: Black | Red | Cream. I received the black variety which looks really smart and goes very well with my black titled styled wallpaper which I'm very pleased about.Whilst the size is fairly big due to having four toast slots, the unit isn't heavy at all, in fact it's very lightweight making it easy to manoeuvre around and it was nice to see it has decent rubber feet for extra stability. The left and right have their own individual timers which is great for families who have different toast preference. Each side also has its own 'reheat', 'defrost' & 'eject' buttons for extra convenience.Overall a very decent toaster and if you're looking for a 4 slice model that looks nice, look no further.

This is a pretty expensive toaster, but with a real retro-yet-modern look and feel to it. Out of the box you get a good look at the really attractive looking colour contrasts of the black and the rose gold dials and handles. Combined with the six symmetrically placed round lights you get a really cool overall look.As for the use, it's a huge improvement from my old Morphy Richards toaster, which is very old now and has been losing it's heat temperature for a while, making toast a bit uneven. No such worry here, with an even brown across both surfaces and across all four slots. The defrost function works as well as any I've ever used and the crumb trays are easily removed, fuss free. All in all,a sleek, cool looking and excellent quality toaster.

For us, this product is a solid toaster. It has luminated buttons so you can see if you're defrosting, reheating or cancelling, easy to read browning level knob and looks pretty damn nice too. Add to this a crumb tray so that you can make sure that you keep it clean and a variable width option so each slice toasts evenly and all round we're very happy. Yes it costs more than a number of other toasters out there but not only are you paying for the aforementioned features but its stylish and has matching kitchen counterparts so that you can help give your home a certain feel. Finally throw into the mix that I've toasted bread, baps, waffles and buns in it and all round I'm more than happy with the toast level and result.A real star.

If you're after a simple no-frills toaster there's nothing to see here. On the other hand, this is the toast connoisseur's dream.Much of the price is justified by the futuristic design and robust build quality. In functionality it's as non-complex as a kitchen item should be, while allowing you to get your toast just how you like it.As a 4-slicer it's a great family toaster, and the crumb trays are a great idea as, let's face it, we let toasters become debris graves otherwise. It is quite hefty and a space hog but the price is reasonable. It's built to last and give you your bread as you want it,and it's much better at the extreme end than your usual cheap warmer.I'm loathe to go back to something more mundane.

I've bought this toaster , as the price was good value for money , it looks prestine , classical , and will remain on top of my unit as is pleasing to the eye . It's controls are all self explanatory , and the instruction booklet is an easy read . On using the toaster I am very satisfied , the toast cooks evenly , and after several cooked on the different settings , found the one perfect for myself , on using the four slots am able to toast 2 at my preference and 2 also for my husband"s darker preference . The breadcrumb tray is easy to access , and a wet cloth and dry polish keeps it looking prestine [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
