I agonised for far too long before making my purchase, reading all the positive and negative reviews of all compact two slot toasters, when I finally realised most of them said the same range of pros and cons about every toaster.Yes, if you only toast one piece at a time one side comes out darker than the other. But that's because one side is effectively getting toasted by 3 heating elements (ie the two elements from the empty slot too), and the other by only one. If you do two slices at once, this doesn't happen - you get perfectly even toast.Yes, the top of the bread sometimes sticks out of the toaster, but if the slot was deep enough for longer loaves, you'd never get the crumpets out at all (another common complaint of most toasters). Solution? When your single slice of toast comes out a bit uneven, turn it round and upside down, so the paler bits get a full blast of heat, just for a few seconds, pop it out, and hey presto, perfect toast. I've never had a slice with completely untoasted "raw bread" at the top, so it doesn't bother me if it's not completely even, but again, if it really is an issue for you, just turn it upside down and retoast for a few seconds. Job done. .Yes, the sides do get hot, but I've never had a toaster that didn't. When you think about the amount of heat that's generated, unless the casing is built like an Apollo landing craft, it's probably inevitable. Some of the fat boy toasters might be better insulated to prevent this, but really, do you want something that looks like a winnebago sitting on your kitchen worktop?I haven't tried it with crumpets etc yet, but the slot certainly looks wide enough. And if they don't miraculously rise to the surface cos the slot is deeper than the contents, a bit of CAREFUL fishing with the point of a knife usually does the job in about 2 seconds. No big deal.Oh, and yes, it does go with my kitchen and other appliances. But that's only helpful to you if your kitchen looks exactly like mine, and you also have the same appliances. And in case you were wondering, it also arrived very promptly and beautifully packaged. So, a perfectly good, functional neat little toaster, well built, nice looking, not too expensive, does the job required of it. I've only given it 4 stars cos at the end of the day it is just a functional little toaster, it's not going to change my life. Just buy it. Unless you like winnebagos in your kitchen, in which case buy one of them.

I think the best thing about this toaster is that it toasts nice and evenly, and covers the entirety of even larger slices of bread. It has a nice warming rack built in which pops out too. It doesn't take too long to toast, and goes from very light to very burnt settings with a lot of adjustment in between. It looks smart (got ours in Black) maybe even slightly stylish, and is pretty easy to keep clean in a kitchen environment (we have ours right beside the hob). When you get it, you are meant to run it twice on full power - I suspect to burn off any residue from manufacturing, as there was a strong smell of plastic when doing this (you are advised to do this in a ventilated room). When doing this, the machine also got warm enough you could feel heat emanating from it. But both of these are to be expected, and don't happen in day-to-day usage. For the money, I think this is a great toaster. And Bosch are a great brand, owned a number of their products, so I am confident it will work well for a good while.

A good little toaster but like any toaster I've ever used it does not toast perfectly evenly on all 4 sides. The toaster has a mesh style element so toasts most of the slice. I now use a sliced wholemeal loaf which fits perfectly into the slots. I used to use a sliced white loaf under the grill before I got this and I'm fairly sure the slices of that would be too large to fit. The Browning control does work, you just have to find the best setting for your personal preference. I have found that setting the control between the marked positions does have an effect, for instance my setting is at 3.5. Word of warning the toaster is supposed to be cool wall but the body does get warm not hot but warm.BUT the most important point is that the metal plate on the top of the toaster gets very hot and it's easy to burn your fingers taking the toast out unless you use the high lift function. All in all once you get used to it this is a good toaster at a fair price.

Bread toasts quite evenly, though I've found that if I use a higher setting than 2/3 the toast burns. The only drawback with this toaster is that it can't fully accommodate "larger" slices of bread eg Warburtons, Hovis etc as the slots are not quite deep enough (they are shallower than my last toaster which was also not quite adequate), resulting in me now buying "small" loaves. The toaster is good for crumpets etc, but if you want to toast larger slices of bread, you'd probably be better off buying something else. It's quite frustrating that manufacturers don't seem to have up-sized toasters over the year to cope with the average sliced loaf!

Just replaced my toaster with this Bosch 2 slice model. What a difference, within approx, one and a half minutes my toast was ready, set between 2--3. Using a small loaf the slices fit completely in, therefore no turning bread over .Both sides evenly toasted.Does get a little warm so care needs to be taken when handling , dimensions are suitable for any worktop ,not being overly large, Crumb tray easy removed for cleaning and with the clean modern lines of design looks well in my kitchen. Is well worth the very reasonable price tag and being Bosch of good quality,I thoroughly recommend this product to anyone thinking of buying it.

So far so good - we've been using it for about a week now. It's pretty basic but does the job and looks nice on the kitchen worktop. We like our crumpets very crunchy and sometimes even on the highest setting it's not quite as crunchy as I'd like so I need to put them in again for a few seconds and watch them in case they burn. The bun warmer is handy too. My only gripe is the cable - it's black and a bit ugly with the clean cream colour of the toaster. We also bought a cream Bosch kettle - not the matching one but the jug one which is a slightly different cream, and it has a white cable, so they look a bit ugly side by side.

I bought this toaster to match my Bosch Tassimo and they look very smart together. The toaster is light weight and has all the usual functions. Toasts the bread nice and evenly. The only one slight negative is that most toastie loaves fit OK, but the odd brand is just slightly big and the crust sticks up a little bit (cut off the top crust and it's a perfect fit). Having said that,it still toasts the bread to the top, but leaves the top a bit lighter. In my view it's not enough to knock off one star as, other brand toasters I've had in the past few years have been smaller.

I bought this toaster from Bosh because I trust the quality of Bosh products in general, the price was very reasonable, and it looks good. We used it, I should think, every day until the main slider knob just fell apart one morning after only three months. On inspection I think the plastic knob is too thin to withstand everyday use. There is a tiny metal screw holding it together, and the plastic just sheered off revealing a very small quite sharp leaver underneath. I would not buy this toaster again unless Bosh assure me they have redesigned the part.

This has got to be one of the best toasters I've had. It's consistently accurate in repetitive jobs, the action is extremely positive, and the bun toaster part is superb. The size of the slots is normal/average so I'm puzzled that someone claimed that they were a bit small.Bosch Toaster slot dimensions are :-Width 30mm x Length 137mm x Depth 115mm.Typical Average sliced bread (sample used was Co-Op sliced Farmhouse) dimensions are:-Width 13.5mm x Length 141mm x Depth 110mm.

It's a very stylish toaster that doesn't take up too much room on the work surface. I was a bit perturbed that it came with instructions, such as "don't make toast with the toaster lying on its side" … I guess you can't fix stupid and some people might try that?!! It toasts the bread in no time at all and I'm very pleased with it. It has a cute little bun warmer that I haven't used yet but you could also use it to keep toast warm. I think it's great value for money.

I’ve always gone for Bosch as a brand and therefore when I spotted this toaster on offer and I needed a new compact one- I couldn’t resist. It does what it says on the tin.. toasts quickly and perfectly. The controls are very basic- all on one knob- no extra buttons to press.. but that’s fine- it still toasts frozen bread and reheats which are features I wanted. It’d a basic, compact nice looking, no frills toaster.

Needed a new toaster with basic features, so bought this one. Works well, does everything I need from the toaster, have wide enough slots even for thicker slices and the lifting feature is handy. Obviously a bit plasticky with this kind of price range, but so far been good. Just remember to ”burn” it before first use, as advised in the manual,I did this outside, it does smell pretty bad the first few rounds.

Bought this as a replacement for another brand that was causing me grief. I'm glad to say that the Bosch unit works a treat and I wish I had gone with it in the first place! I guess a few extra pounds will get you a higher quality product. I'm not sure what others are saying about the slots being too small as i've managed to easily fit the largest and thickest store bought slices in with no problems.

This toaster deserves five stars. It makes excellent toast, and takes a full-sized slice of bread without leaving part of the slice sticking out (I have owned toasters that do this!). The build quality is very good - the controls feel sturdy and the whole appliance feels as though it will last for a long time. Well worth the additional cost (compared to cheaper 2-slice models that are not as good).

After a couple of abroad trips, I decided to get a toaster even though they are not very common in Greece. This one looks great and durable, it toasts the bread nicely and quickly (you don't even have to go beyond setting 3 most of the time). There's nothing else to say, it's just a simple toaster that toasts bread as you expect.
