I was rather sick and tired of cheapo, ugly toasters that ended up in landfill as soon as the warranty had expired. I also wanted something that looked a bit more sophisticated in my smart new kitchen. After dismissing the Dualit range (just too expensive, and reviews very mixed to say the least) I settled on this Bosch.Only had it a week or two but I seems to be rather typically Bosch: You realise it's virtues as time goes by. It takes quite thick bread and toasts well. Haven't noticed any unevenness as mentioned by other reviewers but perhaps I'm just comparing it to my previous inferior models. I find it very easy to use and actually quite like the on/off switch. It makes it easy to switch off fast when any bread gets a bit stuck and needs a helping hand.Another positive is that the outside stays cool in use, unlike some of the previous toasters I've owned. You might want to consider this if you have children, for example.Overall, pleased with this purchase but I'm a bit of a fan of Bosch stuff generally. I have a Bosch Max washing machine that's still going strong after 16 years and had a dishwasher that did 14 years. You know what you're getting generally with this make - a bit more cost but reliable quality. I wouldn't extend this to their irons btw: My Bosch iron was a bit rubbish and only lasted a couple of years..back to a Tefal on this front!

Having always been used to owning a four slice toaster which automatically switched itself off, I was a bit apprehensive about purchasing this two slice toaster although it nicely matched my new kettle by the same maker Bosch. However, having taken other reviewers negative comments on board decided to give it a fair chance to prove itself, which it has done with first-class results producing the best toast my household have ever had. A little experimenting, has resulted in each slice of bread irrespective of thickness coming out the toaster completely brown all over, and to achieve this we put the bread in the toaster side edge down.We believe it has some very good qualities especially the half settings which are achieved by having two numbers indicated and also its inbuilt memory which means that each time you switch the toaster on the last setting number appears. The fact that the machine has to be switched on and off manually, is no great hardship in the scheme of things, and for safety reasons will go a long way to help prevent malfunctioning toaster switches that have caused fires. This toaster comes highly recommended.

Brought the Bosch styline toaster in white as my old toaster was not work as it should. The toaster is very well made and browns evenly across the bread better than my old one I have to say and faster than my old one. I am very impressed by the crumb tray it’s the most efficient and practical I have seen as it takes up the whole bottom of the toaster with it seems no obstructions to trap crumbs. I’m sure other manufacturers do this but have not seen one yet like this and I checked checked yesterday in a shop with toasters on display. The controls are easy to use and are precise. Price was a bit of an issue it is high but have to say it was worth it.And it’s a shame that we can’t move away from plastic on the outer casing consumers are becoming more concerned about the environment these days. All in all have to give it 9 out of 10 for the Bosch styline toaster it feels well made and works perfectly every time.Read full review...

I have had this toaster for a while now and delayed reviewing it until I had thoroughly used it. I bought it to replace a Russell Hobbs one which went 'bang' after only a couple of months. I am pleased with this product in that it toasts quite well and is controllable. We have it on setting 3/4 for one slice and 4 for two slices. It is slightly better done on the outside than on the inside, but overall it's acceptable. I have not given it four stars because I bake my own bread in a Panasonic Bread maker and make a 'large' sized loaf. The slots in this toaster are not quite big enough for my bread and so I get a strip at the top that remains bread rather then toast. However it seems that it is beyond the wit of man to make a decent toaster, at a reasonable price, that is big enough to accommodate home made bread, so this is probably as good as it gets.

This toaster is stylish, good looking, sturdy and well made. But more importantly it works really well. I didn't know if I was making a good choice as I have had so many disappointing toasters. I just wanted to have bread toasted on both sides fairly evenly and this does that. After you have tried the different heat settings and found the one that's right for you it actually adjusts itself if the bread is a bit different each time, i.e.dryer or more moist, brilliant. I think it takes a slightly bit longer than other toasters as it doesn't use the heated coil concept. The halogen type bars that it uses is quite unique for toasters. I found the buttons on the top very convenient and easy to use.If you don't switch it off on the toaster or plug it will remain in standby. All in all I like this toaster both in looks & performance.

After ploughing through various reviews, I am so glad I chose this one. Yes, Warburtons bread fits perfectly. Toasts pretty evenly, no you are not going to get a toaster that toasts exactly the same colour all over. It's a lovely looking design and the finish looks good. The fingerprints don't bother me (which I thought they would), as it's on a worktop under a cupboard with lighting, so I can't see any fingerprints. Never thought I had a use for a warming rack, but I have been missing out, as croissants and pain au chocolat are delicious, and take a fraction of the time than in the oven.Well worth paying extra, the cheaper toasters are definitely false economy. This is very sturdy and feels like it should last years.Had it about a month now with no problems. Delivery, as always, excellent

Although this is pricey for such a simple task, I am glad I bought it. It has all the features you could ever need with a crumb tray fitted underneath the grilling plates, a pop up metal stand for lightly toasting rolls and muffins, Heat temperature control and it just looks stunning. The design is what first caught my eye as it looks modern, stylish and is a beautiful reddy colour.I have had this for around 6 months so I have used it many times and have had good results most of the time. Unfortunately, it can toast a little unevenly which is a shame but no burning or jamming has happened which is a big plus!Would recommend for a singleton or couple but being limited to only toasting 2 slicesat once probably wouldn't work for a family.

We bought this to match the kettle and with the reviews not brilliant we risked it.I can see the points that have been made about variable toasting beng only one bar of halogen and then reflective but it has not really bothered us as not toast perfectionist - it does pittas and bagels well and takes a surprsingly big slice. My bug bear would be that when designing a produce more thguht should have gone into where crumbs land and sit and diffuclt to clean which can spoil the look of what is a stunning looking toaster.I would certainly buy again if in as et with the kettle but not sure as a stand alone toaster the price is worth it.

Wanted a cool-wall 2 slice toaster and looked at many, many other brands. This one is modern and sleek and was an excellent price. It has a very good timer range, from 1 to 5 but you can also set it by increments e.g. 1, 1/2, 2, 2/3, 3 etc and as the timer runs a red indicator flashes to show you the maximum you set and the progress towards it. Maybe a bit of overkill but quite helpful if you are a habitual toaster watcher! It also has a standby button (not sure why?) and a nifty pop up warming rack. It toasts pretty evenly and is deep and wide enough to take buns, bagels, sliced bread or the crusty doorstop! Very pleased with it!

Had this for 3 months now. When it came to replacing our toaster, I spent a fair amount of time looking into all the different models available. Our old one used the traditional heated thin metal strips. These things never toast evenly (at least in my experience). I wanted a toaster that would toast evenly on both sides (sad, I know) and the Bosch does just that. It uses a halogen strip in the slots and it just works. Looks good too. Takes a little longer to toast, but not massively so - and being Bosch, I'm sure it'll be very reliable as well. Very pleased.

What do you want from a toaster?Accurate control over toasting? - Yes.High power to make sure your bread does not dry out? - Yes.Slots that will take a large slice!!!? - Yes.An intergral warming rack for the buns - Oooo missuss ! ? - Yes.Rock solid, quality construction. - Yes.Stylish design that will get your neighbours saying Oooo Bosch! - Yes.So that's it then - Faultless and does exactly what it was designed for .I also have the kettle which is equally brilliant. And, I just bought Bosch ignition coils for my car and they work too.Damn Germans.

This toaster looks great and is very well designed. The toasting element has been upgraded from the old hot wire to bars like in an electric fire which provide for a very even toasting rather than burnt in the middle and not as well done at the sides. The slot of this toaster is what makes it even better as a fan of warburtons which is a little longer than many loafs a slice fits in sideways so I can say goodbye to untoasted tops! I was supprised that the toaster takes up less room than my old one but has bigger elements and wider and longer slot.

Sounds like an easy task doesn't it? But we all know that toasters don't always toast the way we want them to. I'm remembering Eddie Izzards famous sketch about toast and the unreliability of toasters.Which is why this toaster is worth reviewing. It seems that it gotten serious when it comes to the technology of toasting and it really has come up trumpsAll I can say it toasts bread really reliably, the only complaint i would have is that i wish they did a four slice.Incidentally, it goes great with the matching kettle and microwave.

We have had this model for 5 years now and used it several times every day for all that time. sometimes jamming in items that were much too large but it lasted all this time despite this. In the end we pushed the sliders too far and they bent a little making the exit a little slow. So, the one that broke it had to replace it! We wouldn't have another kind as the on/off safety switch and the variable settings are great, not to mention its toughness. A great little toaster. Toasting not really even and the thing is wide and ugly. However, it is one of the only toasters on the market which accommodates UK size slices. I like the fact that it's using quartz lamps as opposed to the 100 year old filaments - hopefully it will provide reliability. Now someone tell me why I could only find one model which gives the option to cook only one toast? (And it had too many other flaws to be on my shortlist.) Why do we have to waste 50% of the energy every morning? Multiply this by 60 million people...
