Buy one while you can as Morphy Richards had just discontinued this product. You can pick one of these up for sub £30 if you are not fussy on colour but generally c.£35 is the current going rate unless you use the Curry's price promise.Even at £45 which we paid to Curry's over the weekend this toaster is worth every single penny. It feels well made compared other brand names up to the half ton mark. It look really good, some are simply abysmal on looks if you go and see them before buying. The power of the elements at c.1.8kw is just about right to get your toast browning in good time. It is well worth checking out the wattage of a toaster because the entry level ones, whilst probably good value, with a 1.4kw or 1.5Kkw power simply take an age to kook your toast compared with this little beauty. Not only does it toast quickly it browns reasonably evenly on both sides and over most of the area of the bread. It takes large slices of bread. We like either the Hovis and/or supermarket Seed Sensations bread which is quite large and it fits into the toaster both vertically and horizontally just fine. The slot width is sufficient for a nice fat crumpet, I mean a good inch thick and also thick Hot Cross Bunnies (I know I have tried). The bread etc whether put in vertically or horizontally is easy to retrieve after cooking as the lift mechanism is nice and high so no burned fingers. Some have said that the lift mechanism is strong so the toast could fly out of the toaster. Well yes it is strong (but will probably settle down) which is good and it has a small tendency to do so if you are only toasting a single slice, but ours is fine if you are cooking 2 slices. Try using a larger slice of bread if you are having problems here. The controls feel good and not flimsy and the buttons do what you need - Eject; Timed reheat if the cooked toast id left to cool (personally I like crispy cold-ish toast with my butter and marmalade) and; an extended timing if cooking from frozen (not sure if the heat is lowered during the de-frost phase but it seems to work pretty well. Almost forgot, the browning controls cover two slots each so if you want golden brown and you SO wants dark and crispy - no problem. Not much more to say really other than it looks really good against a dark work surface and white tiled background.A little cheesed off that Curry's were selling a discontinued produce at a relatively higher price but with the help of Amazon Curry's honoured their price promise so I ended up paying £33.95 but, as I said at the start of this, IMHO this toaster is well worth every penny of the pre price promise price of £45. In fact it is difficult to fault it.BUY ONE WHILE THEY ARE STILL AVAILABLE. This is a GOOD product and came with a 2 year warranty into the bargain. Just because MR have moved on and discontinued this toaster does NOT detract one jot from it being a real belter.

My wife and I decided to go colour matching with our kitchen equipment (we chose the Sand)...this toatser and a kettle...When we opened the box both items oozed quality and like any equipment the proof of the pudding is in the operation. After initially testing that everything worked,I shortened the lead by storing the excess in the base...this was a little tough but once done it now looks great and is that little bit safer not to catch it while messing on the work surface. My first piece of toast was a Mega thick slice and it took it with ease and when done it just popped up and was perfect ( I set it at number 3 for testing)...and came out light to dark brown all over evenly...I was impressedas other toasters I have had in the past have been patchy...I also tried a thinner slice and this came out perfect just the same.I will at this point just like to mention the knob for selection of browning...There's nothing special about this and it's nothing more then a timer...this is how All toasters work (the longer you leave it in the darker the bread gets)..I mention this because some people actually believe the toaster knows how brown your bread gets by adjusting the numbered knob...We have in the past always used the grill on the cooker for making toast with perfect results and great tasting toast but toasters we had in the past were never capable of giving us what we liked....However.... I'd also like to pass on a small tip which I learnt. To supposingly get the perfect toast,it should be cooked as quick as possible and this in turn cooks the toast on the outside quickly but still keeps the inside fluffy and soft and not just a dried out piece of cardboard (something I'm sure most people hate) and because this is a traditional toaster I switch mine on for one cycle then quickly put the bread in while the toaster is still hot and hey presto...Great toast.!!.:)The buttons are easy to read and 2 of the buttons have an accent light to tell you they are activated...these are the bottom 2 buttons...Reheating and the defrost...I can't comment on how well these work as I doubt I would ever use them...but I will test them at a later date and if any negatives I will repost....The finish of the toaster has a textured feel and the outer covering a highly polished chrome...a typical finger magnet, but great looks have drawbacks so just be warned...While I'm on the outer finish.. I found the outside was reasonably cool to touch on the sides, but do not attempt to touch anywhere near the slots....obvious to many but you'd be surprised how many think this should be cool too..Overall..we are very pleased with this toaster...it's very well made.. very stylish and cooks toast great..We would highly recommend it.!!

This toaster has got to be the best toaster we have owned to date. This is not only because of its looks, but its functionality too. Most of the toasters that we have owned in the past have had defrost and reheat functionality, but only on two of the four slices. This one has the defrost AND reheat on ALL FOUR slices. This has proved itself to be invaluable in the early morning toast-making, taking individual slices of frozen bread out and defrosting what you need means that there is much less wastage of bread, and we are not having to remember to take bread out the night before to avoid the wait for the defrost slots in the toaster!!The browning setting dials are good and positive, and they are consistent, so you know that you can 'set it and forget it', each slice will be browned the same, even if using the defrost function.Crumb trays are always useful, and these seem to catch a vast majority of crumbs for easy cleaning, as opposed to previous toasters that either the crumbs spill out of, or crumbs get caught on the inside and end up giving the 'burnt toast' smell. This toaster goes well in our kitchen, and has received many comments from visiting friends about how it would also go well in their kitchen.

I have the kettle from the same range and they both look very stylish in my kitchen. The quality of this toaster is amazing. It made me think of an old transistor when I opened the box - but with a modern look to it. It has all the functions you can wish for. It can defrost, reheat and cancel your toasting. It offers 4 wide slots with two different settings which means you can control different options to cater for different needs/requirements.It also comes with the standard trays to collect crumbs - very neatly tucked away at the back.I have toasted thin, medium and thick sliced bread. I have also used it for crumpets and to warm up some large burger buns (cut in half).Everything came out evenly toasted.Such an upgrade from my old toaster. Beware though, you don't need to put the setting too high to get golden toasts. I did the first time - based on my old toaster and nearly burnt the bread. This toaster is very powerful and delivers quick results - great if you are in a hurry!

This is a good toaster, unlike some other toasters it toasts right to the corners of the bread and toasts evenly on both sides. It's retro look is brilliant in my kitchen. I have the kettle from the same range and they both look very stylish in my kitchen. The quality of this toaster is good. It has all the functions you can wish for. It can defrost, reheat and cancel your toasting. It offers 4 wide slots with two different settings which means you can control different options to cater for different needs/requirements something some cheaper toasters do not do.Everything came out evenly toasted. Such an upgrade from my old toaster. You do not need to put the setting too high to get golden toasts.I did the first time - based on my old toaster and nearly burnt the bread. One problem was with fresh crumpets, one got stuck on the metal slots and had to be removed in pieces as it was very hot

I love this toaster !! It looks so good for a toaster!! The fact that it warms my naan bread and toasts the crumpets and thick slices of bread easily, makes it useful for all. (Although the teacakes still get burnt on the edges) I don't think I can have everything !!! The browning controls vary the colour of the toast well. The high 'shelf' in the toaster means that even the smaller of slices are easy to remove. I like the fact that there are two sets of controls for either 'pair' of slots, which means I can toast 2 fresh slices and one frozen slice if I like ! The colour is very retro with the chrome sides which don't get too hot to handle! and with the chrome on the sides it doesn't really show the fingermarks!!Very stylish well manufactured.

Oh I just love this toaster. Not only does it look super stylish on my worktop (too nice to hide away in a cupboard after use) it is extremely functional. It's so handy that there are dual controls to make toast to individual preferences. It Browns toast evenly but as per the manual, it is better when two slices at least are toasted at once, rather than single slices. It is very quick and has reheat and defrost functions together with a quick release button. Wide slots will allow for varying types of bread/buns. Also has very handy little crumb trays to aid cleaning. I even love how the toast literally bounces out of the toaster when released.. Perfect start to mornings!I also have the matching kettle and the two look great in the kitchen.

Had my toaster for some time now and can report it is still going strong.Has a nice wide slot which makes crumpets easier to get in/out and my favourite feature is the ability to brown the products to different levels because I love my toast crunchy whereas the other half prefers “lightly toasted”.My last toaster didn’t seem to last very long before it started playing up, but after reading online reviews and looking for a larger slot toaster we opted for this one. A little disappointed that the slots aren’t a little longer and deeper for “toastie” sized slices, as depending on which way round you put them their are either squashed, or one end isn’t browned. If this toaster was that little bigger then it would have earnt that last star.

It's huge!!! I know I should have checked the measurements with a tape measure, but it's a toaster, so I didn't bother. I had no idea they could be this massive! I have since recovered from the size shock and use this regularly, and it toasts bread. Sometimes it doesn't toast evenly over the slice, hence the 4 stars. Whether this is due to different brands/freshness of bread I have no idea, but as it's only function is to toast I find it a bit frustrating. Doing 4 slices at once I find the toast goes a bit cold by the time I get to butter the last one, it does have a reheat function but I tend to only do 2 slices at a time now. I would recommend this toaster, but maybe I'd get a two slice version if I was buying it again.

I actually found it quite hard to buy a toaster I wanted. With my old one giving up the ghost I previously bought a Bosch supposedly super duper toaster (cost around £65). I'm a big Bosch fan, but I had to send it back because it didn't even perform the basic function of toasting adequately. This toaster is probably a bit more basic than I'd normally buy, but it was also cheaper than I normally. Still it has some good functions, dual controls is great, so my wife and I have our own sides on the toaster which we don't have to constantly fiddle with. It toasts well enough, handles frozen crumpets and bread fine.I'd definitely recommend this if you are considering it.

Arrived today, replacing a 7 year old Russell Hobbs that sadly died on the weekend. Nice, compact unit with good slot sizes. Test slice toasted well using the frozen setting (we freeze all our bread so no wastage). It's not exactly heavy weight, but it's also not expensive. Only downside so far is that it's really more a dark grey than black, and I hadn't realised it was polished metal rather than brushed (which all my other appliances are). Still, it makes toast, and I like the two sides being properly independent & having separate temperature controls. Springs are keen but no flinging toast across the room yet.

Works great and has a nice wide opening big enough to take bugger buns and crumpets or think breadThe main reason we picked this toaster is becasue the kids love them micro wave burgers but like the buns toasted and are old toaster had a smaller opening for the bread and you had to squash the buns flat with you hands before you could put them in. Now with this toaster they fit fine and can just be put straight inIt's easy to clean and for toast we use setting 3 and it works great. It is a bit chunky and takes up a lot of kitchen counter space but I guess all 4 slot toasters do

We have added this to our kitchen to match the rose gold and black filter coffee maker and kettle. We are delighted with the features of this toaster as well as its smart looks.Even a feature to warm up toast that has gone cold is useful if you forget to take out your toast is especially useful in our home. No need to worry about bread direct from the freezer either as it will defrost without making an alteration to your favourite setting. with a two year warranty too we are very pleased with our toaster [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I have been using this toaster for about a month and love it!It is extremely stylish mixing a traditional look with the modern - even better when coupled with the matching kettle.Has four toasting slots which are wide enough for thick sliced bread. The removable crumb tray easy to access and clean.Has defrost, reheat and cancel buttons, which can come in handy! It is the first time in years I have been able to obtain crispy crumpets!!If I had to give a negative about it, it would be just to warn that it if you are short on space, it is quite big.

After reading loads of toaster reviews I settled on this toaster, to replace my 10 year old toaster. The design drew me to this toaster being able to have two different settings used at the same time. Bread toasts quickly and when it is a bit quicker than expected the reheat button comes in handy. I have used frozen bread in the toaster and used the frozen bread setting. I found it very useful and no different to fresh bread. I like that the levers can push the toast up high. My children find this toaster very easy to use, to make their toast.
