I have been an XBOX live user for a few years now and I was a bit sceptical about paying any more for services through live. However, I have been stunned by the level of quality of the arcade games that have been released. I have had times where I have logged in and most of my friends list have been hooked on these addictive puzzle/shooter games. So at first I said to myself I'll stick to my principles and avoid paying more. But I tried the trail versions of downloads that required points (for free) and eventually gave in and bought some. The best way to get Microsoft points is through live itself and it takes a couple seconds and you get a confirmation email if you have credit card detailslogged with Microsoft. Most arcade games retail for 400-1200 XBOX live points which is roughly proportionate to the level of depth of gameplay within the title. Some of the best titles include Geometry Wars (Shooter), Marble Blast ultra (3D marble puzzle) and the upcoming Street Fighter (for XBOX live playability).Microsoft points also allow you to change your GamerTag which is something I like to do from time to time and it was difficult to do on the previous-gen version of live. That currently costs you 800pts.Overall, reasonable value for money, if a little on the expensive side (hence 4*) but at least it ensures a motivation for companies to provide a steady stream of content.

I received the points today and code worked fine, this is an added feature to the xbox live system, I don't see why people are rating this low, you are paying for added features, The service you pay for live is for an upgraded membership which different from the points feature. You can buy films, games and added features to games with these points. Obviously a money scheme but the added features are desirable hence why you would buy the points.I'm dissapointed with the fact that Microsoft feel the need to waste an entire case and extra packaging on just a simple code, this is really un-environmental and Microsoft being such a large corporation should be the first to lead by example. You can't even reuse the case for a cd or disc. However if you want added features to games you already have or games from the arcade or films to watch and play on your xbox, I suggest you go for it. : )

I don't know if the following aspect has been mentioned yet:Until recently I used to buy the 4200 MS point cards... I have 6 of the orange cases piling at home...Now I had the opportunity to buy two 2100 MS point cards instead of one 4200 point card, and I realized, buying the 4200 MS point cases had been a big mistake. (It was a simple calculation matter: 2x2100MSP ~32 Pounds against 1x4200MSP ~35 Pounds)The green 2100 MSP case is much better, because you get a USABLE 360 gamecase which you can use as a handy backup, in case a gamecase is or gets damaged.(Sadly, sometimes I get pre-damaged gamecases from the vendors) The orange case of the 4200 MS Point card is actually useless...There is no disk- or handbook holder inside. So even If you may save a pound buying the 4200 instead of two 2100... don't do it... The orange case is a waste of plastic.

Microsoft points are basically an on-line currency for xbox LIVE users. Buying a card like this has many advantages over buying it on a bank account. The most important differences areBuying a prepaid card is cheaper and gives you 100 extra Microsoft points (about 80p)It is more secure as you don't need to enter any bank detailsThey can be bought as a giftThese points can be used for all sorts of purposes. You can rent films in HD, buy add-ons for your games, buy full games or customise your avatarI always buy prepaid cards because I once had my xbox LIVE account hacked. Although it is very rare for this to happen, I immediately wiped all my details from the account. There is no danger of losing your details if they aren't on the system, so I definitely recommend you buy LIVE subscriptions and/or Microsoft points using a card like this.

2100 MS Points which can be used on Xbox Live to buy downloadable games, movies, game add-ons etc. This is in the form of a code which you enter on Xbox Live via your Xbox360 and it all works fine, not a lot to go wrong.Buying 2100 points in this way is much cheaper than buying via the MS dashboard, although there's a lot more physical waste as the code is printed on a piece of plastic and this in inside a plastic box (although admittedly the box could be re-used to replace a damaged game box). It's also a bit strange offering the points in installments of 2100 when most purchasable items cost either 400,800 or 1200 points - but these are all minor points as the product itself does exactly what it is supposed to and there is plenty of worthwhile material to buy on Xbox Live.

The product itself is simple. You get a code and redeem it on Xbox Live, thus adding 2100 points for you to buy items from the Xbox Marketplace.Although I'm no environmentalist and haven't got any problems with the product, it does seem a tad bit wasteful to use an entire plastic case to situate a card which ultimately is Digits, that will be utterly useless after their purpose is done. They can't even be re-used to put C.Ds in because the rectangular slots can only fit that card! All in all though, A good, fun way of paying for items on the Marketplace. Could also be economcially beneficial if the person were to get this card cheaper (As oppsoed to PSN where you have to pay a fixed price usingDirect Debit/credit).

You need to have an xbox 360 and a subscription to xbox live to use these points. I bought them for my son in place of pocket money/chore money. It means the money doesn't go on sweets or toys which fall apart in a matter of hours and it keeps him happy for a long time. It also makes a useful 'carrot' to offer as a reward for future jobs, good deeds or school achievements. He uses the points to pay for downloadable games and bits and pieces for his xbox avatar. The points are cheaper here than anywhere else I could find and the games he has downloaded have given him lots of fun. He's had some small games and also an add-on for a purchased game.

The points systemfrom microsoft is great! It really allows gamers to purchase good quality arcade games from the comfort of their lounge and are not too expensive for the quality of which they are. Also, you may end up playing some arcade games more than full games! Also, the ability to update your xbox 360 by using points to buy themes, pictures etc is a great way to add some variety into gaming so you dont have the same boring gamer pic for months on end. All in all, these points are pretty essential if you are a serious gamer. Recomended.

These Microsoft points allow you to download new content for your Xbox 360 games, plus being able to download patches for the Xbox 360 itself - such as being able to play your iPod's playlists whilst playing a game. Also, the main aspect of it is that with this you are able to download new Arcade games, which are to say the least, VERY FUN.A must have if you're going Live with your new Xbox 360. You'll definately buy it sooner or later, why not now?

Not much to say about the live points, other than most things that you purchase on the live network will be cheaper on the live network than if you were to buy them in the shops or even get them on the playstation network. They can be used to purchase full games, videos, and Downloadable content for games primarily, if you thinking of downloading something off the live network then I would definitely recommend points.

Absolutely brilliant idea! My son uses this now he's subscribed to X Box Live, and can now download new games/music/cars for his games etc. etc. and I don't need to worry about credit card limits etc. He has learned that he has to budget properly and not go mad buying everything in sight, and that he has to save up to be able to buy the points card. Wonderful product which I would definitely recommend.

If you have a xbox live account you realy need to get the points which are very easy to add to your account. And are much easier and safer than with my ps3 account which needs you to add your visa card and as for those people who moan about the cost of this i have a simple thing to say to them DON'T buy it.if you want to upgrade your games or have top arcade games buy it simple really.

hi, this is a quik and easy way to buy stuff off xbox live safely. they don't rip you off, most of the stuff is free. if you don't buy this your missing out on a lot of thimgs. you can buy, themes, gamer pictures, arcade games, new weapons and mapes for games, music videos, the list is endless. brilliant. you'll love spending these and won't regret it. thanks.

You can buy the same product from Amazon for over £5 cheaper, use this page instead:[...]For the product, if you want to buy the Arcade games, or add-ons for the games, this is pretty much a requirement... all 3 of the major players (Microsoft, Sony & Nintendo) do the same sort of thing, so they're just "money" for the on-line purchases.

Served it's purpose, my son needed microsoft points to enable him to download extra levels onto a game i'd already paid £40 odd quid for and this was the best deal out there, microsoft are happy, my son's happy and i'm over the moon! (Honest)
