I have had my previous mouse - a Logitec laser mouse - for over 9 years. It was an excellent product and wherever I've been given a different mouse at work or friends places, I never ever found one that quite lived up to this one, be it a top of the class gaming, a reputable brand or a value product. So when my long term favourite pointing device gave in after all this time, I was very keen to find reviews that addressed all my concerns: Comfortable hand position, responsive handling and I did not want an overkil of features or buttons that I would not use anyway. In short none of the mice I could find addressed all the issues to my satisfaction. As a loyal Microsoft customer I had been swamped with ads for this devices for a while. And as I had a feeling, I'd buy it - due to the convient form factor - anyway at some point, I decided to get it now and then restart my search for a 'desktop' mouse if this did not do the job for me.However I am so impressed with this device, that I'm unlikely to start shopping for one again. The form fits my hand perfectly. It's a little smaller than my previous one, but do't let the design fool you. The arce is not nearly as small as most of the standard 'small' mice I've seen. It really feels about right. The arc It's also much more stable than I expected. I really worried I might occasionally flatten it by accident, but it just keeps it shape when in use and is easy to turn off (flatten) when in transport or just going away from the computer - clearly extending it's battery life.A lot of other reviews said you 'need to get used' to the device. I disagree. It really sits natural with me from the start. I had no problems with the 'unusal' design feature. I was worried I might find it odd that the mouse was not curved towards it longer sides - using it, this did not bother me at all. I was worried the touch scroll feature might need getting used to - well maybe 2 minutes. The sound helping you identify the mouse scroll ticks is subtle. But if your coworkers don't like it ... just install the 'Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center' software, and can adjust the volume or even turn it off entirely. This also goes for the vibration. The ability to do a 'fast scroll' or 'flick', causing the page to keep scrolling fast and even after the 'flick' has ended is greate for long word documents etc. I simply did not want to miss this feature after the first 5 minutes.Based on other reviews the battery life is pretty extensive. I've not run out of my first set of batteries yet over a week, but expect to be able to keep going for a month based on other reviews. A nice feature would have been to connect it to a Micro USB cable to recharge instead of having to swap the 2 AAA batteries. Is there anything bad? Well if there really is anything it's the 'middle tap' - ie clicking on the middle button or touch scroll. I only really use it to open a link in a new tab in Chrome. Instead of just clicking you need to double click. The touch scroll does not allow being pushed down by the click. So it feels slightly less responsive than you might expect, but it is confirmed by the same sound the scroll makes when you do an actual scroll. Finally it only reacts if you click in the upper (further to the middle) part of the touch scroll, so I do need to curve my finger a little more than I used to.I got used to it within an hour or so, but did have to consult the manual.I'm pretty impressed with some of the features of the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center software. I particularly like that I can flip the scroll direction, so that I push the page up rather than scroll down it. It's in line with what I'm used to from Apple's setup. The only trick I'm missing here is that I cannot separately adjust the scrolling vibration (I'd like that high to feel the feedback of the scroll) and the scrolling sound (I'd like to reduce that so I don't distract any co-workers), but how much more minor can complaints get.Over all an excellent product, at great value (given the current Amazon price) and none of the suggestions for improvement are even close to justify a deduction of rating stars.

The overall design and build quality is both robust and stylish. The mouse feels well made and gives the impression of a product built to last. The rubberised palm rest feels pleasant to the touch and provides grip. The buttons require a slightly firmer press than you may be used to. The scroll wheel is sensitive and replicates the sound of a manual scroll wheel clicking away when you use it. The sound is pleasant enough but, in my opinion, there should be an option to disable for those times when you are working in a quiet environment as it can be distracting for others. The shape and size of the mouse itself feels smaller than you may be used to,if you have large hands you may struggle to find a comfortable position when you first use the product. I find myself naturally curling my little finger beneath the arch of the mouse which felt odd at first but soon becomes comfortable.Tracking is very accurate on all surfaces that I have tried so far (real wood, leather, MDF, cardboard and a mouse-mat). This ability to work on 'any' surface really adds to the portability of the mouse as you can set-up anywhere and be confident that the mouse will track straight and true. There is no difference in performance regardless of which surface you use it on.The wireless dongle plugs into a usb port on your machine and is very small so does not protrude at all really. The bottom of the mouse has a nice magnetic spot where the dongle attaches for travel. I an using both Windows 8 and 7 Professional and in both cases there was no set-up required. The mouse worked perfectly out of the box without having to install any drivers. The ability of the mouse to snap straight for travel serves two purposes that I think really add value: 1) The mouse easily slips into pockets designed for mobile phones in my briefcase or my jacket pocket. 2) As the mouse is battery operated this ability reminds you to turn it off and save battery, basically you know that if you leave the mouse in its curved (work) configuration it is still on - so a nice visual reminder there!I thought about detracting a single star as the shape of the moue takes more getting used to than a conventional mouse but overall I think that 5 stars is warranted because the benefits of the design out-weigh the drawbacks, sacrifices have to be made for portability and style and this is the best portable mouse I have ever used. I'm already getting used to the unconventional design during use. There is no reason not to recommend this mouse.

Bought this mouse for use with a new laptop.I wanted a nice mouse that was slim enough to slot inside my laptop sleeve's outer pocket, and with only this and some cheap chinese slim ones out there, I went for this. I also considered the Microsoft Wedge touch mouse too, but decided to pay the extra £20 for this one, for the better ergonomics. I'm glad I did.Only had light use so far, and is only likely to be used for general navigation, internet browsing and light applications. I have a Logitech MX Mouse for using 3D and Cad software with my desktop, and whilst I love using that mouse, it is way too clunky to put into a laptop sleeve. The mouse uses touch for the scroll wheel, and has lovely haptic feedback to let you know when it's scrolling, which I was very surprised to find out just before I ordered it, the result is great, and makes the overall experience that bit better.I love the switching on/off method with this mouse, simply snap it into the arc and it's on, fold it flat and it's off. It makes for a super slim mouse when it's packed away, with all the ergonomics of a normal mouse (See photo comparing it to an Anker Wireless mouse that I use at work). There's no chance of it folding flat during use, either, it's got a re-assuring "click" as it locks into the arc position. The USB receiver simply attaches to the underside of the mouse magnetically when not in use, but it's small enough that I just leave it plugged into my laptop all the time.

I've used this mouse for well over a year and it's absolutely brilliant. I use it ony a daily basis for several hours a day (7-8). The batteries need changing around every 4 months which is slightly less of a lifespan than Microsoft guarantees. This works perfectly on every surface (other than glass which is stated) unlike the bluetooth version which I also have. The product is durable but the mechanism can use some care. I've had two of these mice before and the mechanism does break if you aren't careful with it. The mouse buttons do scratch and wear but this doesn't affect functionality. The drivers for the mouse install very quickly so you can change it from PC to PC with no major problems, but I don't believe the mouse and keyboard center will install automatically or at least without a restart so you won't be able to reprogramm the buttons when you first connect it to a PC, you'll have to install the program. One small defect I've noticed is that the touch stip starts to stutter after prolonged use. This can be easily fixed by flattening and recurving the mouse (takes less than two seconds) so that hasn't been a major issue for me.Granted the price is very high (£56.00). I paid £30 when I bought this which is still high for a mouse. It is however, in my opinion, well worth the payment for the simple funcitonality and portability of the product and the great design of it.

Brilliant product. Been using it daily for a month. Even has sound when scrolling and double-tap to scroll faster.Easy to remember to turn off, because it has to be folded flat to turn off, so if not flat, just slap it flat and it's off. I always used to forget to flip over my old mouse and turn it off on it's tiny button.Only thing that is not ideal about this mouse is that it isn't bluetooth, but has a usb transmitter, and having an ultrabook with only 2 usb sockets, I would have preferred bluetooth. There's of course a chance of losing the transmitter if you're careless, but it does attach to the bottom of the mouse with a strong magnet.I also bought the very tight faux leather case (it loosens a bit after a while, which is nice), so no chance of losing the transmitter now.Feels very different to a normal mouse, but I got used to it fast. The rubber texture is very nice compared to the normal smooth plastic and sweat is not an issue. Having a very light and very slim ultrabook in it's transport case isn't exactly complemented by having a normal fat mouse in the case, which is why I bought this little gem. Best mouse I've ever had (though for heavy gaming, you're likely better off with a corded one with changeable weights and programmable buttons, but for anything else this is great).

Expensive but worth the cost for a folding, well made and good looking piece of kit. The mouse comes flat in the box and has a small USB receiver for connection to your laptop although it can also be connected via blue tooth if your laptop supports it. The receiver can be attached magnetically to the underside of the mouse for easier packing into a Bag.Bending the mouse at its centre, makes the mouse pop up into shape and turn on. This is neat and really easy to do.The mouse has two physical, clickable buttons and a Single, touch sensitive scrolling sensor. There is some haptic feedback. I think the power of the feedback can be adjusted although i have not tried this. The default setting was fine.Using the mouse on my laptop was fine. It moved the cursor precisely and quickly. It is comfortable in the hand - i have large hands but i do not thinnk this would be a good choice for using the mouse for a long time. As the name suggests the body is an arc and makes your hand arch over it while in use, so probably not a great solution for extened periods. Absolutely fine for my short bursts.Recommended if you have the money and need a portable folding mouse solution.

One of the best gadgets I've bought. Bought it in conjunction with a Tuff-Luv leather holder and keep it in my work bag daily. It's narrow flat form factor is non-bulky in my bag. Batteries last a fairly long time and being of a standard type (AAA) will mean easily replaced anywhere/anytime.... although I personally use rechargables. It feels comfortable in the hand, tracks accurately, and doesn't collapse without extreme downward force. Primary buttons are dead on, although if you are too far forwards towards the front you can catch on the lipped edge which prevents the downward click....doesn't happen that often though. The haptic feedback and simulated noise on the 'scroll wheel'is a little annoying. I'm not sure if this can be disabled but I'd like to as I don't require it and imagine it would reduce battery lifetime unnecessarily. The 'scroll wheel' control is very good and the acceleration function works on most platforms I've tried it on (Win7/8/Ubuntu) out of the box without specialized drivers.

This mouse is not bluetooth enabled; i.e. it will not work without the dongle.Meaning that if you buy it for use with a Microsoft Pro Surface 3 it will be using up your one and only USB port. There is a Microsoft Surface specific Arc Touch mouse available called the 'Arc Touch Mouse Surface Edition', which it seems doesn't need the dongle. I learned this the hard way! I can't find it on amazon but they are listed elsewhere on the internet, including the MS website.Other than that it seems a nice mouse, the 'bluetrack technology' does indeed seem to work on a wide variety of surfaces compared to my old optical mouse; trousers, glossy magazines, leather sofa, even the carpet with no problem!A tactile and attractive mouse.Perhaps a little small for my hands but more my problem than one with the mouse!

I find this very easy to use. I do a lot of travelling, always use a laptop, cant be done with using the mousepad on the laptop, this Arc Touch Mouse folds flat. In your bag, or your computer bag, or your pocket. Easy. Avoids the bulk of a mouse. Once you get used to it a "real" mouse seems a bit unwieldy. And this scrolls so easily and has some clever functionality. This is the second one I have bought, no issues with the first one, it is over a year old and still going well, I simply forgot it at home, went travelling, had laptop, missed the Arc Touch Mouse so much couldn't wait to get home to it so bought a second one to keep me going. Have now replaced the mouse on my desktop with the other Arc Touch Mouse.Battery life is good too. I got 6 months use.

Great as a laptop mouse, as it collapses flat and fits into your bag nicely. Really good battery life - I use it all day at work, and probably need to change the batteries only every couple of months or so.Bear in mind, whilst fine for general office use, it is quite fiddly if you need pixel-perfect precision (such as working with Photoshop). But for general office / internet use, it's great. The USB receiver is tiny (protruding less than 1cm from the edge of the port), and can easily be left in the USB port of a laptop and slipped into the bag without snagging, rather than having to take it out each time. If you do prefer to remove it each time,it's magnetic and handily sticks to the underside of the mouse

Nice flat-fold mechanism that makes it easy to transport and which automatically switches the mouse off (how many times do we forget to do that?!!). The USB dongle is easily stuck to the magnetic surface of the mouse and in all it's nice and flat to pack in your laptop bag (unlike the fat conventional versions which always bulge out!)Great to use, needs a couple of minutes to familiarise with as the movement feels a little odd at first. Persevere and you won't be disappointed. I especially like the feedback feel when using the "wheel" button in the centre (not actually a wheel, but a touch-surface). Really pleased with this, Microsoft can do ergonomics too, it seems!

Works well for web browsing, email, detailed powerpoint document creation & spreadsheet usage, etc. Fantastic space saver in the work bag and great long battery life (had it over 6 months and haven't had to replace the battery yet despite using it every day). I now quite prefer it to my standard wireless mouse. It also is a great conversation starter and envy-creator in the office & around town :)The only downside is that the clicking & scrolling are artificially loud (apparently deliberately, to aid usage / create familiarity vs a standard mouse), however the sound can be annoying if you're trying to multi-task using it whilst on the phone etc.

This is a great little mouse which has awesome functionality of folding up when in use and flat when not so it can be easily stored in a laptop bag or top pocket of the suit when moving between meeting rooms. As this is not Blutooth version it always come back to me if I leave it unattended because USB connector is in my laptop. Battery lasts long and speed and vibration trigger can be customised with Microsoft app on the laptop/pc/mac.Great tool.I will be lost without it. 5 stars

27.7.2017

The most practical mouse for using with a laptop on the go. Flattens completely. Is extremely responsive and the batteries last forever. I miss a side button, but the way it's designed, it would be very difficult to fit one and keep it as slim. I recently bought this as a replacement for the previous one, which I had bought when they first came out (quite a few years ago). It had taken a huge beating and only just died on me (the on/off button stopped working)

10.11.2018

The feel is great, really high quality. Battery life is great, haven't charged it yet. Occasionally it glitches but if you just unfold and fold (to turn it off and on again) it fixes it. The middle mouse scroll is a bit weird but you get used to it. Only thing I wished it had would be a middle mouse button click as well as scroll (for camera panning in Adsk Maya), but the portability was more important to have.
