In general, an improvement to their previous generation grey Arc Touch or ltd edition Surface Bluetooth mouse. A few changes have been introduced:Haptic feedback has now been removed and in its place is a trackpad type feature which means you spend less time dithering between keyboard trackpad and mouse. Haptic feedback can sometimes be useful, but the previous Arc Touch mouse proved sometimes cumbersome when browsing lengthy webpages or documents that you speed read through. The touchpad feature offers more of a usability upgrade whilst sacrificing the distinct left/right separate buttons of the Arc Touch predecessor. Would be even better if they incorporated trackpad gestures, ie pinch for zooming,or 3 finger swipe for screen grabbing, or twist scrolling by gesturing continuous clock or counter clockwise circles.(As far as I'm concerned, only Logitech's MX Master's dual function scroll wheel comes close to being the perfect approach for mouse scrolling).Bluetooth stability is better on this newer unit, with drastically reduced instances of dropped connections.Shape has changed a little, it now has parallel sides which means you need to unlearn the way you held the previous Arc Touch upper square which took a while to learn how to grip to counter the awkward lower tapering where your palm cups the lower half of the mouse. This is the reason mis-pressing rights for left clicks with this new item. It's irritating at first but soon becomes a non-issue once you make a conscious effort to acclimatise to the new ergonomics. There's a better snap action when opening or closing on this one, it feels more positive but it's not a game changer. On the whole once I got used to it I think it is an improvement over the previous generation product. The only concern I have is durability. The finish on the previous Arc Touch looked tatty after less than a year, the rubberised lower cover started looking like a female pensioner on a prolonged suntan holiday in Miami, all wrinkly and having seen better days. Also the painted grey/silver upper had dulled and flaked away, hopefully this new product has had an improvement to the quality of plastics in use, time will tell.Price is a little steep, but that's Microsoft getting wiser to the appeal of chic portable tech.Wish they could use similar tech to Logitech's laser optics which track on glass and perhaps introduce an improved battery indicator.Otherwise, all good with the new Arc.

I use to laptops frequently: a Macbook Pro and a Thinkpad. This mouse works beautifully with both of them and definitely enhances my ease of us for work and play. The snap to activate feature is absolutely epic and worth the price of admission alone! Being able to store the mouse flat and knowing it is deactivated is a real selling point for me as it's a cinch to transport and store in my bag. Being able to whip it out, snap it into action and just into navigating is really intuitive and quick. So far this mouse has taken quite a lot of abuse, being knocked about in my bag, sat on multiple times, squashed by heavy items and generally knocked about. Despite that it remains solid and reliable, time will tell if it can tolerate a year or two of being on the road but so far the signs are good.Battery life is reasonable and accuracy of actual mouse action is great with options to customise speed and clicking to your exact preferences.Overall I love this mouse, primarily for its form factor and somewhat gimmicky but IRL awesome 'snap to activate' feature. I'd recommend buying the mouse on sale as i managed to snag it at near half-price (£45ish) which I felt was worth it.

Simple and very compact design. Unique because it packs away flat and you bend it to form the arc shape before use. I've not had this long enough to comment on how robust the moving joint (and associated electronics) inside the flexible rubber exterior that makes this possible is. However, I think this is a quality product and a lot of attention has probably gone into the design and quality of construction.Pairing was very straightforward and once paired, using it was just a case of bending it into shape to switch it on. The mouse then works just like any other good quality optical mouse but the left and right clicks are housed under a track pad that works flawlessly for horizontal and vertical scrolling.Again,I've not had the mouse long enough to comment on battery life. In any case, it only uses two AAA batteries so it is never going to be expensive to run! This is quite an expensive mouse but it feels like a premium product with a very clever, portable design so I am pleased with my purchase. However, as a premium product, I would have expected some sort of case to have been included, even if it was a simple cloth bag.

Lets face it, I bought it because it looked cool. For that it has hit the mark- five stars. On top of that it works really well as a mouse on every surface tried so far. It fits the hand well and has that nice matt feel which hopefully will last. I was worried about resting my finger on the right side of the pad while clicking with the left but it seems smart enough to work that out. The scroll up/down works really well being speed sensitive. The connection by Bluetooth to my Dell XPS 13 was easy and has been very stable so far.Almost everyone who has admired it up has wondered out loud how long the break switch will last but I guess we will know that in a year or two. What would be really nice would be track-pad style multi-finger support for zoom, clear screen etc which it feels like its capable of doing but doesn't. Other than that its a very pleasing travel mouse.

I'm off to a conference in a few days. I'm taking my Surface Pro 6 with me and didn't want to take my Logitech MX Master mouse as it's a bit bulky for travelling. If you also want a lightweight mouse for travelling, the arc mouse is a great option. The snap functionality works perfectly and it is super lightweight. You do, however, have to pay the standard Microsoft Surface premium to get the mouse.Pros------* Gorgeous little mouse* Snap functionality works great* Super portable and lightweightCons-------* Expensive for what the mouse offers* Very few buttons when compared to other mice in this price range* Not as comfortable to use as larger mice (which is to be expected)So far I'm loving it.Snap the mouse to turn it on. Snap it back to turn it off. It's a great idea and works great.

I have a Miscrosoft Surface Laptop and work out of a different office everyday so I wanted a mouse that was easy to carry around. This product fits that bill. Despite having the cobalt blue laptop I decided on the black mouse since it is currently about £20 cheaper.I read a few reviews about it on here first. A few mentioned that it was difficult to right click, or the mouse would get left and right clicks mixed up. I figured that due to Amazon having great customer service that if it was a poor experience I could return it. However, I haven't found this to be the case at all with easy distinction between the two clicks. Click it into the arc position and it connects in less than 1 second and is ready to go.It folds up nice and fits in my laptop sleeve. All in all I am very happy with this mouse.

For me, this mouse is absolutely brilliant. I'm the type of person who hates a track pad yet does work lots on the go, and so it's near perfect.I've read reviews criticising the mouse for its ergonomics, but personally I think they're missing the idea of this mouse: It's designed to fit in a slim pocket, and be able to be forgotten about until you need it, and that's the beauty of it. If you want an ergonomic mouse, get one of the Logitech MX master mouses. My only minor criticism would be that I don't feel that the touch sensitive area is utilised enough. I think in this department, the Microsoft could take a few pointers from the way apple uses gestures for its magic mouse: being able to swipeacross virtual desktops would be brilliant.

I needed a mouse that would connect wirelessly without needing a dongle.I have always loved the mice Microsoft make and this is no exception. When I am traveling I can fold this flat (which turns off the power) and just chuck it in the bottom of by backpack. When I start up my laptop, just "fold" the mouse open and it connects via Bluetooth. Currently using it with a Dell laptop running WIndows 10 and it just works. Is it worth the price? Maybe

Really well built, my third one, kept losing the USB dongle so went for a Bluetooth version, works absolutely great. It is a bit pricey, but with a fold flat plug for the charger for my surface pro, can use a bag that’s about an inch wide but have full functionality. Great way to switch on & off, batteries last for ages.

It's all good and easy to set up, tougher than the older WiFi one, the click is obvious when activating, but the middle button clock takes some training to make it a habit. Though the fact that its bluetooth means it might intermittently disconnect, that happens with all Bluetooth devices on my surface.

Bought to accompany my daughters new surface pro and it works great. Folds flat to turn off and curved to turn on, it connects almost instantly and works straight away with out fail. Didn't pay full price but for the quality I probably would have. Would recommend to anyone.

Amazing mouse, bit expensive but honestly worth the price considering there's absolutely nothing close to it out there. Connects super quick every time it is snapped into place, and turns off automatically when snapped flat. Nice tactile snap and feel. Definitely recommend!

Great mouse to compliment any surface device, easy to set up and use. Really comfortable in the hand, even with long periods using. Everyone is intrigued by the design of this and it always gets positive compliments. Shame it doesn’t come with a travel case. 10/10!

Nice and surprisingly light. Easy set up. However did not arrive with any batteries as stated in the description. Even the manual stated to pull out the plastic tab in the battery compartment however there was no plastic tab or batteries in the compartment at all.

Works very well. I use this on a MacBook Air and does not provide the same gesture control as an Apple Magic Mouse. That said, it’s ideal for portability as it folds flat. Looks great and much lighter than a Magic Mouse.
