In general, an improvement to their previous generation grey Arc Touch or ltd edition Surface Bluetooth mouse. A few changes have been introduced:Haptic feedback has now been removed and in its place is a trackpad type feature which means you spend less time dithering between keyboard trackpad and mouse. Haptic feedback can sometimes be useful, but the previous Arc Touch mouse proved sometimes cumbersome when browsing lengthy webpages or documents that you speed read through. The touchpad feature offers more of a usability upgrade whilst sacrificing the distinct left/right separate buttons of the Arc Touch predecessor. Would be even better if they incorporated trackpad gestures, ie pinch for zooming,or 3 finger swipe for screen grabbing, or twist scrolling by gesturing continuous clock or counter clockwise circles.(As far as I'm concerned, only Logitech's MX Master's dual function scroll wheel comes close to being the perfect approach for mouse scrolling).Bluetooth stability is better on this newer unit, with drastically reduced instances of dropped connections.Shape has changed a little, it now has parallel sides which means you need to unlearn the way you held the previous Arc Touch upper square which took a while to learn how to grip to counter the awkward lower tapering where your palm cups the lower half of the mouse. This is the reason mis-pressing rights for left clicks with this new item. It's irritating at first but soon becomes a non-issue once you make a conscious effort to acclimatise to the new ergonomics. There's a better snap action when opening or closing on this one, it feels more positive but it's not a game changer. On the whole once I got used to it I think it is an improvement over the previous generation product. The only concern I have is durability. The finish on the previous Arc Touch looked tatty after less than a year, the rubberised lower cover started looking like a female pensioner on a prolonged suntan holiday in Miami, all wrinkly and having seen better days. Also the painted grey/silver upper had dulled and flaked away, hopefully this new product has had an improvement to the quality of plastics in use, time will tell.Price is a little steep, but that's Microsoft getting wiser to the appeal of chic portable tech.Wish they could use similar tech to Logitech's laser optics which track on glass and perhaps introduce an improved battery indicator.Otherwise, all good with the new Arc.

I use to laptops frequently: a Macbook Pro and a Thinkpad. This mouse works beautifully with both of them and definitely enhances my ease of us for work and play. The snap to activate feature is absolutely epic and worth the price of admission alone! Being able to store the mouse flat and knowing it is deactivated is a real selling point for me as it's a cinch to transport and store in my bag. Being able to whip it out, snap it into action and just into navigating is really intuitive and quick. So far this mouse has taken quite a lot of abuse, being knocked about in my bag, sat on multiple times, squashed by heavy items and generally knocked about. Despite that it remains solid and reliable, time will tell if it can tolerate a year or two of being on the road but so far the signs are good.Battery life is reasonable and accuracy of actual mouse action is great with options to customise speed and clicking to your exact preferences.Overall I love this mouse, primarily for its form factor and somewhat gimmicky but IRL awesome 'snap to activate' feature. I'd recommend buying the mouse on sale as i managed to snag it at near half-price (£45ish) which I felt was worth it.

Simple and very compact design. Unique because it packs away flat and you bend it to form the arc shape before use. I've not had this long enough to comment on how robust the moving joint (and associated electronics) inside the flexible rubber exterior that makes this possible is. However, I think this is a quality product and a lot of attention has probably gone into the design and quality of construction.Pairing was very straightforward and once paired, using it was just a case of bending it into shape to switch it on. The mouse then works just like any other good quality optical mouse but the left and right clicks are housed under a track pad that works flawlessly for horizontal and vertical scrolling.Again,I've not had the mouse long enough to comment on battery life. In any case, it only uses two AAA batteries so it is never going to be expensive to run! This is quite an expensive mouse but it feels like a premium product with a very clever, portable design so I am pleased with my purchase. However, as a premium product, I would have expected some sort of case to have been included, even if it was a simple cloth bag.

This is how you do a portable mouse - fold it flat and it'll fit in your pocket without looking out of place. Curl it into shape, and it's a fully featured mouse! No wasted battery life or fiddly buttons, just ready to go. Dongle-free connection is a definite plus, especially if like me you're using it with a device with limited ports. The battery compartment doesn't have the satisfying magnetic closure of the lower end Surface mouse, but while that's a shame, it isn't a big deal. It won't be opened often. The only real disappointment with this moues is that despite having a touch-pad like single surface for left and right clicks, vertical and horizontal scrolling, there's no gesture support. It really feels like you ought to be able to pinch to zoom, or have three finger gestures to navigate desktops. A strange omission, given the thing's form factor.Still, it's a good quality product apart from that. It'll accompany me wherever I go!

Lets face it, I bought it because it looked cool. For that it has hit the mark- five stars. On top of that it works really well as a mouse on every surface tried so far. It fits the hand well and has that nice matt feel which hopefully will last. I was worried about resting my finger on the right side of the pad while clicking with the left but it seems smart enough to work that out. The scroll up/down works really well being speed sensitive. The connection by Bluetooth to my Dell XPS 13 was easy and has been very stable so far.Almost everyone who has admired it up has wondered out loud how long the break switch will last but I guess we will know that in a year or two. What would be really nice would be track-pad style multi-finger support for zoom, clear screen etc which it feels like its capable of doing but doesn't. Other than that its a very pleasing travel mouse.

I'm off to a conference in a few days. I'm taking my Surface Pro 6 with me and didn't want to take my Logitech MX Master mouse as it's a bit bulky for travelling. If you also want a lightweight mouse for travelling, the arc mouse is a great option. The snap functionality works perfectly and it is super lightweight. You do, however, have to pay the standard Microsoft Surface premium to get the mouse.Pros------* Gorgeous little mouse* Snap functionality works great* Super portable and lightweightCons-------* Expensive for what the mouse offers* Very few buttons when compared to other mice in this price range* Not as comfortable to use as larger mice (which is to be expected)So far I'm loving it.Snap the mouse to turn it on. Snap it back to turn it off. It's a great idea and works great.

I have a Miscrosoft Surface Laptop and work out of a different office everyday so I wanted a mouse that was easy to carry around. This product fits that bill. Despite having the cobalt blue laptop I decided on the black mouse since it is currently about £20 cheaper.I read a few reviews about it on here first. A few mentioned that it was difficult to right click, or the mouse would get left and right clicks mixed up. I figured that due to Amazon having great customer service that if it was a poor experience I could return it. However, I haven't found this to be the case at all with easy distinction between the two clicks. Click it into the arc position and it connects in less than 1 second and is ready to go.It folds up nice and fits in my laptop sleeve. All in all I am very happy with this mouse.

This mouse is like no other. It's on switch is bending it from the straight off position. It is easy to bend, and comfortable to use. When off, it is flat and fits into a pocket easily. The batteries - 2 AA - are easy to obtain, or recharge, and also easy to place in position. The operating part is just a flat screen - like a laptop touchpad area, doing all the functions of right click, left click and scrolling. It is the scrolling function which gives the 4 star rating, instead of the 5 star. Scrolling up and down is not as accurate as a mouse wheel. The left-right scrolling is even less accurate, and cannot be relied on - possibly because some apps don't cater for that function. So,it's nice to look at, feels good, and fits into the pocket more easily than any other mouse I know.

For me, this mouse is absolutely brilliant. I'm the type of person who hates a track pad yet does work lots on the go, and so it's near perfect.I've read reviews criticising the mouse for its ergonomics, but personally I think they're missing the idea of this mouse: It's designed to fit in a slim pocket, and be able to be forgotten about until you need it, and that's the beauty of it. If you want an ergonomic mouse, get one of the Logitech MX master mouses. My only minor criticism would be that I don't feel that the touch sensitive area is utilised enough. I think in this department, the Microsoft could take a few pointers from the way apple uses gestures for its magic mouse: being able to swipeacross virtual desktops would be brilliant.

I always hoped that Microsoft would release a full touchpad portal Bluetooth moues, similar to Apple's Magic Mouse. And whilst they did, they missed an opportunity to create an input device that would have high precious pointer and silky smooth scrolling like their precision touchpads do on their Surface covers, whist offering multi-finger gestures to navigate the operating system.Whilst I like the mouse innovative design and portability, I would not buy this again due to lack of precious touchpad and multi-finger gestures. Other than that, its good portable Bluetooth mouse that offer simple tracking and clicking, whilst providing rather awkward scrolling.

This is the first time I have ever bought an item from Amazon marketplace so I was a bit dubious at to what their terms meant with respect to this mouse. I would have to say that if this mouse had been given to me as a gift I would have had no idea that it wasn't brand new. It came in completely undamaged original packing that on close inspection had been resealed. However, the batteries for the mouse where still in their original shrink wrap so actually this mouse had been opened and for whatever reason rejected and returned to Amazon. At £33 I am really happy with this deal and would look at a product on Amazon Warehouse again.

this windows arc mouse is beautiful it looks amazingly stylish and modern one of the best looking computer mouses out there today by far its got a lovely colour and finish to it and it feels really nice and light too its easy to use and set up in just mins its comfortable to use daily and for long periods too its not sluggish and response well to all actions and movement its very thin and sleek and you can see and feel the worth of the price tag as soon as you open the box i love it and to me its worth every penny i did get mine on offer for £54 but its worth the £79.99 price too i think

I had the Arc for the original pro3. And realistically this one is not as nice. Aesthetically this is pleasing however the useability of the older model I felt was better. The older one you could see the ‘scroll wheel’ and it had a Taptic feedback. Kind of a reassuring thing. This Arc mouse is one clean piece across and if you finger isn’t clearly in the right position for which there is no proper indication you will end up probably zooming the page in or out a number of times or clicking rather than getting the menu up. Overall it’s okay but prefer the older model.

Bought this to replace my arc touch for the surface pro (which I've loved since I got it). It works well and seems a little more robust but I'm struggling with the shape. It's thicker where the heel of your palm sits on it so doesn't feel quite as comfortable. The 4 way touch scrolling is what I got it for. Works ok with Windows software but wanted it ostensibly for marking up pdf's and cad drawings and sadly those 3rd party programmes don't currently support. Other than that it still draws admiration whenever you pull it out of the bag and 'click' it open/ on...

Only 4 stars despite thinking its the best mouse you could possibly have for travelling. It folds flat and slips into the PC sleeve I have without bulking it out which I love. The opening mechanism is what powers the mouse up. So instead of having to switch it on just bending it open does that and flattening it again shuts it off. I bought my original a couple of years ago and because I travel every day it gets bent open and closed every day so after 2 years it stopped working and now I've had to buy another which at this price is not great every 2 years.
