Absolutely love this and so pleased it was the toy wooden kitchen I chose for our twins birthday. Spent ages researching toy wooden kitchens and it was hard to pick but I've had no regrets with this one. It is a great looking kitchen - nice and bright but not gaudy, and also neutral, neither for boys or for girls only. Lots of room for two little ones to play together. A great size but compact enough not to take up too much room in your living room/kitchen/a bedroom. It is of excellent quality and really sturdy. I managed to build it myself with an electric screwdriver (essential!) and yes, it took me 2+ hours but well worth it. No missing parts and it all fitted together well.Would say that this item is definitely great value for money and wouldn't hesitate in recommending it. As some other reviewers have mentioned, it doesn't come with accessories like cooking pans, utensils, play food etc but I got some great stuff in Ikea and ELC. Melissa & Doug do wooden accessories which would go with this kitchen but for 2 year olds who are rather boisterous I wouldn't be keen!

Got this for our daughter's 2nd birthday and it's a BIG hit! She just loves to copy us in the kitchen... cooking, washing up and putting groceries away, it really encourages imaginative play (along with additional kitchen play set not included(pots and pans, toy fruit & veg, etc).However... after only 1 day of gentle play (she's only little!) the top hinge to the fridge/cupboard door fell off, ripping the plug fitting clean out of the cabinet making it impossible to refit... I had to drill new holes and reposition the hinge with my own nuts and bolts. And the plastic door catches are so flimsy - the fridge/cupboard door wouldn't stay closed until I fitted a proper magnet catch.Hopefully nothing else will need fixed. Also worth noting is that it takes about 1 and a half - 2 hours to assemble but is reasonably straight forward with good step-by-step instructions.Overall it's a great little activity centre which will keep little ones entertained for hours BUT it's let down by some poor quality components.

Our daughter has not played with it yet, as it is not quite Christmas, but I have built it up to make sure all the parts are there and there is no issues with it.It is very solid and sturdy and the frame should last years, even with a bit of boisterous cooking from a toddler, however the door catches look like they may need replacing. There was a couple of issues with holes not quite lining up, which made building it tricky. Now it's built one of the cupboard doors is rubbing the frame a little. However, I don't feel it's worth sending it back because once it's been played with a couple of times the paint will have rubbed off the corner of the door and it will open and close freely.Other than that the kitchen is lovely and I'm sure our daughter will be delighted. As another reviewer pointed out, it takes a while to build (a couple of hours if you are watching telly at the same time) as there are quite a lot of parts. Not as many as a real kitchen, but more that a flat-packed wardrobe :)

My 2yo son loves this. It took me a while to make but the instructions were exceptionally clear, and everything was labelled. You don't get any spare screws etc so be careful not to lose any! I was pleased about the finishing touches ie the door 'hinges', and that where possible, things ie the chopping board and hobs cover screw holes. It gets used quite brutally, especially the timer - the ding is a little off in terms of where it should go off ie when the timer reaches the top but that doesn't matter in the slightest. The doors get 'slammed' as well as they slam often and are still as good as new, as is the paintwork. If anything breaks I suspect it might be the tap. There is plenty of storage which pleases me,at the end of the day the food can go in the cupboard, and plates etc in the storage under the oven. I like the addition of the shelves on the edge (we keep pots and pans there). This looks good, being the only toy left out in our lounge

A great wooden kitchen but let down by some poor quality paintwork/workmanship. Would have expected a better finish given the brand name and price of the item. The timer doesn't always ring at the end of the countdown. And the oven door had a layer of white protective film which doesn't peel off easily so have bits sticking out from the edges which looks poor. Obviously my 2 year old daughter doesn't care about these imperfections and loves playing with it which is the most important thing. The kitchen looks pretty hard wearing and so far has withstand play from various other toddlers ranging from 2 years to 5 years old. Took my partner and I over an hour to build, but the instructions are well written. It is a good size and compact with plenty of storage space for putting away the pots and pans, tea cups etc. I give it 4 stars simply because my daughter loves it but if I was given the choice again I may be tempted to choose a different brand.

So, I was going to DIY up a kitchen for my son for Christmas but this little beauty came on sale and it was more cost effective than sourcing the materials. This was my #1 love about this item - the price point.#2 Holy Hannah is it a PIA to put together. Maybe it was because it was late at night Christmas Eve but damn. I am the Ikea QUEEN but this was a challenge. M&D if you are reading this- please please please rewrite the instructions#3 Once togther it is great! Sturdy, fun- love the click click click the knobs make.DON'T INSTALL THE TIMER. That thing is the devil. Was a real parent consulted in the design of this toy? Cause if so damn did they phone it in that day.It is loud and terrifying when it goes off which caused one of my kids to cackle with glee and the other to scream his face off, in a repetitive loop every 1-3 minutes. No. No. No. Just throw that bit out the moment you unpack it.Overall, very happy!

Now, it probably took me a good month to try and decide which kitchen to get for my 2 year old son (also have a 4 year old) and after looking at loads of different websites and prices. I can say that I am extremely pleased I got this one. It was a little difficult to put together, some bits easier than others but we did it and onece it was done it looks great and a great size as well as height. Perfect for little people who love pretending to cook. Its certainly great value for money but please beware!!!!! I eventually found this product for £60 and some places were trying to sell it for even double the cost!!!!The wood is a very good make and strong not like some children's wood products youget.I would recommend this to everyone.

Bought this a while ago In the sale for our granddaughter wasn't sure if it was for xmas or her birthday but decided to wait and give her it for her 3rd birthday which is next week ..Shame it doesn't come with pans etc but not a problem we bought her the little pan set her auntie is buying her Melissa and Doug food and her uncle has bought her a little red ElC toaster which will match perfectly , For me personally you can't beat wooden toys they seem to last longer and also due to not having all the sounds etc the role play is more imaginative. Its a toy that I know is going to last for many years and her little 13 month old brother can also enjoy joining in with due to no little bits to worryabout him pulling off and choking on .

I was looking for a wooden kitchen for my 2 year old son. This kitchen is well made loads of fun and my 4 year old niece loves to come round and play with it too. It has a nice appearance to have in your home. I didnt have to experience building it as i got my father to do it but it didnt take him very long. Well worth the price. Only thing I would say is that it could of come with a few accessories as I did end up spending quite a bit more on food pots & pans. Otherwise overall I am very satisfied with this product.

This is a 5* product in everyway expect build time. Literally every piece needs putting together including handles on doors and doing the hinges for the doors. It took my very competent husband well over an hour to assemble. After it's all assembled and ready to use, it's beautiful. It feels like a quality toy and has withstood our 4 and 2 year old eager beavers well. Its a lovely height especially for our 4 year old as it's the right level for her and she's not having to stoop like on others we've seen and used.

This kitchen was bought for our daughter's 2nd birthday. She absolutely loves using it as does her older brother because of the curved shape of the kitchen they are able to comfortably stand beside each other, work away and still have plenty of room. I agree with other reviews it did take time to build but it was well worth it. All screws, fittings etc were as should be none missing. Instruction manual clearly explained what to do and if this mummy was able to assemble it then anyone can!

Brilliant product. Bought for my daughter for Christmas. Put it together on Christmas Eve, definately the best plan as it took almost 2 hours to build it (I did do it mostly on my own though!). It is better made than some of my furniture in the house and very sturdy! And of course the most important thing, my 20 month old LOVES it. Ran straight to it Christmas morning and everything else was forgotten and has been since!First Melissa & Doug product I have bought but will not be my last!

Just wow! I bought this for my two year old for his birthday today. I set it up last night, it did take me two hours however i did procrastinate a fair bit and took a short break after each page in the instruction book :D It was really simple to fix together on my own. Its built fantastic, very sturdy, great unisex colours. I have no complaints. To top it off, both of my youngest children (2 and 4) have been playing with it all morning!! I couldnt be happier.

this wasn't my first choice, but i'm so glad this is the one i brought my 21 month little girl. it was double the size of most but that's a good thing as it will last so much longer. it was simple to put together, but don't do it Christmas eve because it does take a while. it's also very strong great for toddlers. a year on and the kitchen still looks as good as new and my little girl is using it all the time so it gets a lot of hammer.

Bought for my 3 year old who loves it. Very solid once built and the instructions are good. One of the doors doesn't fit properly as the hinge doesn't sit quite right in the door (even tried changing them around) and there was also quite a deep scratch on the shelf but I've come to expect some of these things with wooden toys. Doesn't bother the kids so doesn't bother me but should be noted. Otherwise really pleased with it.
