In this day and age where sadly we all need to wear masks frequently, if you're going to wear lipsticks, it has to be something you can be sure won't budge or smudge onto your mask, and the Maybelline Superstay matte inks have been my goto for a while, and the only lipsticks I've been wearing at all in the 2020 pandemic.I'm normally a bright lippie girl - hot pinks and retro reds - and this Maybelline product really does stay the distance even in the super visible shades.... you often need to remove the next day with a bit of oil on the lips! and I don't normally suit nudes/browns at all, but Seductress is really pretty and I wrote this review to recommend it really as it's an absolutely stunning wee shade- it's a medium nude with peachy, pinkish and chestnut undertones that I believe would make it flattering on a wide variety of complexions, and it looks subtly different (but flatteringly so) when paired with different clothing or makeup colours. As for the Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink formula? I have already mentioned it's revolutionary staying power, honestly nothing else touches it. The only downside is the formula has a weird gloopy feel and doesn't ever stop feeling slightly tacky on your lips, even once dried down. The feeling is really weird, but I for one don't mind it.Other colours I particularly recommend: Dancer for a vivid true bright blue-red; Romantic for a beautiful hot pink; Creator for an unusual bright pinky purple; Believer for a beautiful mid-tone plummy raspberry. In the photo it's around 5pm and I'm at my friends wedding in March, for which I applied my makeup at 10am, and I've eaten a lovely 3 course meal; looking closely I can see slight wear on the inner edge but it's really damned impressive to have survived so much eating and drinking compared to any other lipstick I know of.Amazon gets different shades of this lipstick in at different prices from different sellers all the time; this item at £6.18 is priced about right - I recommend you don't pay more than about the £6 mark even though the RRP is £9.99, as Superdrug very frequently sell them in a 2 for £12 offer.

I LOVE lipstick and I feel like I’ve tried every kind, so I was really excited to try this Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink, liquid lipstick in the warm pink shade, Initiator (170).The formula goes on wet then dries to a slightly tacky/sticky texture. I feel like it is noticeable on your lips once dried but I’ve had worse. I’m glad it’s not drying as most matte lipsticks are. This lipstick is easy to apply thanks to the shape of the wand applicator. It’s rounded on one side, flat on the other and ends in a point. This makes it more precise upon application. You don’t end up with lipstick outside of your lip line. This lipstick LASTS!!! It will last through food, drinks and kisses! It’s definitely transfer proof and has some staying power! It’s even difficult to remove with makeup remover! It does seem to wear away in a crumbly way which is odd. This colour isn’t a ‘your lips but better’ colour for me. The colour is a little dark, intense and vibrant so people will notice you’re wearing lipstick but it still looks elegant. You get a lipstick that’s very flattering and super pigmented. I have fair skin and some lipsticks look so bright and horrible but not this one. The matte finish is really trendy and modern as well. This has a very slightly perfume taste to it and it does linger after it dries on the lips. You stop noticing it and it doesn’t bother me, but if you’re particularly sensitive to tastes or scents on your lips you may not like this. It’s much better than the more chemical taste you get from other liquid lipsticks.Priced at £8.29 at the time of review I’d say this is on the expensive side of an appropriate price bracket. This lipstick is maybelline so you know you’re getting a quality product & the packaging is perfect so this would make an amazing gift! You can see where the value for money is with this product.Overall I like this and would recommend it.

I've been lucky enough to try out the City Edition 135 Globetrotter (top colour) and the City Edition 140 Groundbreaker. Boy do these colours have some staying power! The second image shows the residual tint after I'd used a cleanser to remove the colour, and when that didn't work, after doing the washing up in hot soap and water. TBH, I ended up a bit sore with all the rubbing, heat and detergent, but I was determined to try this for work. I went 11.5hrs without having to retouch this, despite eating and drinking hot and cold stuff. There was minimal residue on tissues and cups, and at the end of the day, I thought it best to use baby oil and cotton wool pads for removal. The colour came off more easily, but didn't entirely leave. Bedding didn't end up stained, but the next morning there was still some colour on my lips. These are definitely for a whole day's wear, not a quick trip to the shops. There is a sweet, vanilla-like scent to both colours, and it lingers for a while. I did like that the colour didn't crack or bleed (despite my lips being quite lined due to age) and that it dried to a matte finish. My mouth didn't feel stiff, although after removal, had I not been forewarned and used baby oil, I think the damage would have been worse than on my hands.I think this is both a plus and minus product, as yes you do want staying power and you don't want your lips to dry out, but it is a hassle to remove the colour. And, quite a bit of colour comes out on the wand, and it's sticky and gloopy so you have to smooth this out by going back and forth quite a few times to even it up, which of course rubs it in. Hmm.

I got this lipstick after a recommendation from one of my colleages who swears by it. At first, I was a bit skeptical about it as I have had not so pleasant experiences with Maybelline lip products in the past, but after a month of using it, I can confidently say that this is one of the best lipsticks that I have ever tried.First of all, the formula of this Maybelline Superstay lipstick is amazing, one of the most long-lasting that I have ever come accross, as it stays on my lips for all day long, even after I have had a meal or a drink. After applying, it dries on the lips really quickly and stays matte, and it doesn't tranfer on anything, even my drinking cup. Also, the best part is that it doesn't dry out my lips, comparing to other lipstich with similar matte formulas.Another thing that I love is the precise, arrow-like applicator which makes the applying of the lipstick so easy and quick. As for the color, the shade that I got is called "Initiator" (number 170) and it is a lovely medium pink color which makes it perfect for every outfit or make-up combinations.Last but not least, the packaging is compact and in a color, similar of the lipstick, which is very convenient when I am going through my make-up bag, looking for this exact product.Overall, I can really understand my colleage's love for this Maybelline Superstay lipstick. It is perfect for an everyday use, it applies evenly and so easily, and its matte formula is one of the best I have ever tried, both really long-lasting, yet caring and moisturizing. Definetelly would recommend it and also, it is definitely a bargain!

Im going to express a preference here, the lipstick i wear all the time (all the time i have make up on anyway) is maybelline 24hr superstay lipstick. It is bomb proof. Im always getting asked how come your (bright red) lipstick never smudges or comes off! I either wear it alone or with a matte mac lipstick over the top (in red). I was keen to see what this one would come up with. This is styled like a gloss with a tear shaped wand that has a dip in it that picks up the lip ink. This particular colour is a lovely bright red that goes on eaisly and dries to a matte finishWith a wand applicator it is harder to get a 100% precise finish but i managed ok. My normal lipstick has something similar! The one bit of advice i would give about this lip ink is you have to give it a fair time to dry, try and leave it 15 minutes. Before the drying time is up it feels sticky on your lips. After it has dried you cant feel it. Its not drying like a lot of long stay lipsticks.I went about my day as usual and this is just as hard wearing as the 24 hr superstay lipstick they make, which needs oily make up remover to get it off! I also put some on the back of my hand. I cracked after 3 days of seeing it on my hand and got the oily remover out! It doesnt last as long on the lips as they are wetter but it is still bombproof.Blumming love this stuff, its just replaced my fave lipstick in my make up bag (and that is high praise indeed) Just leave it to dry before you do anything/poke it/panic/rub it off/snog anyone.

If they made every colour in the rainbow I'd probably buy them all.As someone with rather chunky lips I've always hated lipstick as whenever I smile or talk I'd end up with a weird line of lipstick somewhere between my bottom lip and my chin. I spent about 7 years of my adult life assuming that me and lipstick would just never get along... Until this bad boy came along!!!! Originally I tested the double ended ones with the balm in them and it was a revelation - now these guys have upped the game further by creating a really nice creamy feeling and VERY resistant lipstick in all kinds of awesome colours. Now I've thrown out every single crappy gloss and lipstick I ever tried before and have a drawer full of 24hr stay stuff. For anyone who's never used them yet: they WILL NOT budge. You can throw creamy make-up removers at them, a full restaurant meal, cocktails, beers, a night out, and they WILL NOT SMUDGE. They're that good. The only thing that shifts it is anything oil-based. So any particularly greasy fish for dinner and you'll have to re-do it but aside from that they're phenomenal. This also means that I've found myself staying at friends and having to borrow their olive oil to take my lipstick off (which is usually after they've tried to lend me standard make-up remover which hasn't worked).Unless you're planning to french kiss a fresh salmon: this stuff is staying with you for the duration! Total. Game. Changer.

Colour No 45 Escapist. (A vine review of free product.)NOTE - this is a review by my wife......Was not too sure about this colour Lipstick as it looked so dark on the website, but thought I would give it a go, as I do like Maybelline make up.It arrived quickly and must admit it was a very Dark Plum colour. You have to be careful as to how much product comes out on the wand but you can easily wipe off an excess amount, as it can be quite thick. It goes onto the lips fine once you have sorted out the way the wand works (first one for me, usually have a brush or a chamfered end on the lipstick).I did find however that it stayed on my lips, but, being a Matte Lipstick, dried into the cracks in them, thus giving a non professional look. The next time I tried it, I used a clear lip balm before applying and this was fine. To boost it a bit more you could put the lip balm over the top for a glossy look to the lips.It certainly lasts all day with no rub off on glassware mugs etc.I think this colour would be very good for those ladies with a very dark or Caribbean skin or want to add the Gothic look to their makeup regime. It can be hard to remove at the end of the day but I have found using my liquid eye makeup remover, it comes off in a flash then I just pop on my moisturising lip balm.Still not too sure on the Colour or the Matte finish but it gets 4 out of 5 for both of these reasons. Thanks for reading my review.

Maybelline is a well respected brand in cosmetics, and this lipstick offers the quality that you might expect from this leading name. I ordered this in warm pink, and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a rich off red as opposed to a pale pink. It looked great and if applied thickly, would make a real statement. The colour was rich with a matt finish, which I prefer to a gloss. According to the blurb, it uses elastic ink technology to last up to 16 hours - I don't have a clue what elastic ink is, but the colour lasted really well. I wore it while eating and drinking without any transference or fade, which is what you want. Again, the blurb suggested that the colour could be removed using a 2 phase system - I found that it came off easily with a make up wipe, and am sure that soap and water would have been just as successful. What is good is that the colour doesn't come off with just water - so you can drink, walk in the rain and presumably wear it in the pool (or bath!) if you desired. The lipstick applied easily and it was easy to make a line using the applicator, so that the colour sat perfectly on my lips. There was no scent to this product, which is how I prefer my lipstick, and you didn't need to use a lot for a more subtle finish.

The days of lipstick being a twist and apply application may be numbered as you can now get a variety of ways to apply it. The 'Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink Liquid Lipstick' range has benefits over traditional lipstick, but also some failings. Applying a decent layer with precision is simpler with the provided brush, but the wetter nature of the makeup means that you have to have a steady hand to prevent yourself from lipsticking your face.'Groundbreaker' is towards a more traditional red colour, but has slight tones of orange in it that knocks back some of the vibrancy. As a shade it can be worn as a regular colour as it does not scream for too much attention. One of the benefits of the liquid application is that the colour stays longer throughout the day as you can add enough in the morning that it lasts. This does mean that before it dries your lips can be a little sticky and the makeup a little thicker than you are used to.In a way it is a balance between staying power and application thickness. You can add just a smidge, but you won't get much colour or add quite a lot and have lips that last, but take a little while to dry in the first place.

This product now has to be my new favourite liquid lipstick product. Not only is it the best budget option that I've tried, it is also far better than any of the more expensive ones that I've tried! The formula is absoloutely perfect because it looks completely matte on your lips but it does not make your lips look dry and wrinkly like so many other liquid lipsticks do. It feels really nice on, not dry at all. You can still feel that the lipstick is there, due to it being slightly sticky but I think that this texture helps it last longer. It will last through anything. I can eat and drink with this product on and it is still perfect. I am so impressed by the staying power.I have truly not had to reapply this throughout the day at all and have to take it off with makeup remover at the end of the day!The colour selection is slightly limited for me as I like to wear a nude on the daily but the nude that I've tried is very nice and would suit a lot of skintones. There are, however, many options for lovers of a bold lip. These would be an essential piece to your party wardrobe because you can rely on them to last ages!

In the Amazon picture this looks light pink but the product packaging and product is paler and more skin covered. If you had a medium completion it could be concealer! On my youthful daughter it looks nice, on me well more like my lips have disappeared, its a bit too pale. It say matte finish and it is.I had slightly rough lips and it tingled when it first went on. It did last, I ate and drank, cleaned my teeth went to bed and it was still there the next morning. The patch test I did on my wrist was still there several days later! (Perhaps I don't wash my wrists very well, bit it has with stood a lot of washing up and showers/hair wash)Inside the bottle is a foam applicator. The product is quite liquid and needs wiping on the edge of the container to prevent drips. The ingredients are listed on the back of a tiny bar code label. I've had o get a torch out to read it! Ingredients include dimethicone cross polymer, phenoxyethanol, isodecane, lauryl lysine, polypropylsil??oane, benzyl alcohol, and colours which may include titanium dioxide (highly likely as this is white) and iron oxides, and more....

Maybelline Superstay 24 Matte Ink Lipstick is a nice lipstick to use and I love the matte strong look when applied it does take a couple of coats to get the "look" which is shown in the picture above. I would also recommend you blot between both coats at it will enable the matte look which you are aiming for with this particular lipstick. If you prefer a glossy look, it will simply take a quick application of your chosen lip gloss. The one thing I did not like was when I applied the lipstick there was a "streaky" look I thought this was going to be another lost cause, but it only took a quick press of my lips and another application plus a blotting from a clean tissue.I found it to be a bit sticky but this quickly wore off making it a great look. This colour did not suit my pale skin, I would prefer a brighter colour. I love the quality of the lipstick and though it did take a couple of touch-ups through the day I still would recommend.Maybelline Superstay 24 Matte Ink Lipstick is a good quality lipstick and one I am happy to recommend.

This is a lipstick that comes in a kind of lipgloss packaging. The wand has a triangular lipgloss tip but it applies like a matt lipstick & glides on really easily. It quickly dries into a lipstick. It is not drying like other superstay lipsticks I've tried & it has great consistency. It is just right (not oily at all which is how I like it).It stayed on for a good few hours even though I smiled & had tea! However, as i was eating oily food & wipes my mouth, some of it came off.It is really amazing staying power & may need touching up after 4-5 hours if u eat etc. However, it won't come off unless you use an oil based make-up remover. This colour "heroine" comes in a red tube however it is not quite "hot" red.It has a slight neon tone to it but when apples it looks like a red with a slight pink & orange tones to it. I have dark lips & when I applied it, it looks like a very bright girly red (not the polished red carpet red). I've thus given it one less star as it's not a true red as the outer red tube shows.

I love long lasting lipsticks, but since an old discontinued range from revlon that I used for many years, I had failed to find a replacement. Yes, many are long lasting, and can cope with drinks, but none that could do then entire day, no matter what you eat. Until now! I have now got four of these, and they can me put on in the morning, and need removing with oil at night - even soap doesnt take these off. A little bit of baby oil though, and its gone. Perfect. The colours dont copy well on screen from the tubes for some reason, so make sure to look at the swatches instead, if you cant get to a shop to try them out irl. I just love not having to worry that the dogs licked me and smudged the lipstick everywhere,or being able to go out for a meal without worrying about it flaking off, or transferring all over the place. If, like me you have very pale skin, lover is a great subtle day shade, and ruler is bolder. For the perfect red lips, try heroine. Just that and mascara, and you're good to go!

This is a true matte lipstick that comes with a wand applicator (like a lip gloss), making it really quick and fuss-free to apply. It’s got a lovely creamy consistency so it feels comfortable when you apply it and it’s also thick enough that you get full, even coverage of the colour. Once it’s dried, it’s pretty much smudge-proof and stays put all day, without the need to reapply. Doesn’t feel too drying although I tend to apply lip balm towards the end of the day to refresh the colour a bit and keep my lips soft.A quick note on the colour: I got the “Dreamer” shade which is a very wearable pink colour, it’s not too vivid or too dark but it’s nicely pigmented and looks flawless when applied.Really pleased to have tried this lipstick as I love the look of matte lips and you definitely achieve that with this lipstick. Amazingly good value too, considering the finish you get and how long it lasts. I’m completely sold on the range and have already purchased a couple of other matte ink colours!
