Mascara is a must for me. Having naturally dark hair but then blonde eyelashes, I use alot of mascara. Finding a good quality mascara which gives you length and also thickens tour lashes is extremely important. I have two brands I have found and absolutely love but I do like trying new brands, especially if I could find one alot cheaper than my favourites, that would be a massive bonus!Firstly I liked the packaging. The boldness and the contrast of the white and blue stood out, already making me know that it was a blue mascara with the white making me think of a primer, which would extend my lashes.I applied my make up as normal, leaving my lashes until last. The wand is easy to use,a nice thick handle making the application easy and straight forward with a thinner end, perfect for the corners.I did put a few coats on so won't mark any stars down for this as even with my expensive brands, it's always good to do, adding the volume and thickness. I must admit I was impressed. The colour is beautiful, maybe not as bright as I was thinking. Blue but not too blue if that makes sense. I have blue eyes so adding a blue mascara really made my eyes pop out! I've had some lovely comments about how pretty my eyes looked with the mascara on. No one's has ever really said that before wearing black, so I'm taking it a huge compliment!Would recommend this mascara. Stayed on all day and came off easily enough using make up remover wipes. Very happy especially for the price. I would definitely buy other colours in this range also.9.5/10 for me :) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Oh wow. That was my response after the first time I tried this.I’ve been using the primer with a no-frills, budget black mascara. I don’t know if other reviewers have noticed but it actually says on the tube to apply 3 or more coats of the primer for optimal results… one coat isn’t going to be enough. I found 2 coats of primer (and one coat of mascara) is the ideal amount for me and it’s a massive difference with primer than without: with the primer my lashes look darker, thicker and longer and it looks like I have more lashes. Extra coats of primer produces a much more dramatic, false lash look. It’s a blue-tinted primer but you can’t see the blue once you have your mascara on.Take care when you’re applying the primer so the lashes stay separate, this will help you to avoid clumping or getting spider leg lashes when you apply mascara. The bristles on the wand are a little funny-looking as they are quite sparse and flat around the tip, but I think it’s designed this way to optimise the way the product coats the lashes; I didn't have any trouble with it.The great thing about the primer is you can turn any average Joe mascara into a superhero. It’ll work with any mascara I think as long as it’s fresh, as you want it to be able to go on smoothly over the primer layers. I can’t understand why this primer doesn’t have more 5 star reviews, all I can think is maybe people aren’t using enough of the product, you need at least 2 coats of the primer for the wow-effect. Do one eye with the primer and one without so you can see the difference!

I like to use a primer under my mascara because I find that my mascara is less likely to clump and I can get away with one coat of mascara rather than two, making my mascara go further and it is easier to remove at the end of the day. One coat of mascara on its own isn't enough for me; I like that it is nicely separated but I find that I need 2 coats in order to get the length and thickness I require but unfortunately most mascaras tend to clump when you use more than one coat. A primer acts like the first coat of mascara but it doesn't cause the mascara to clump as much when you put a coat on afterwards. So I get the look I want from 2 coats of mascara without the clumping :-).Since primer is usually cheaper than they same brand mascara it makes it more economical too.I've been using Revitalash blue primer for a while now, I much prefer it to the white primer as it is easier to cover with mascara and not be seen, plus you can wear it on its own for just a longer lash look on non-make up days. To test it, I used this primer on one eye and my Revitalash primer on the other eye with the same mascara over the top of both of them and there is no difference. I'm very happy to continue to use this primer as it does the same thing as my usual one and will save me money.

Not the easiest to apply with the slightly ill-thought out wand applicator as you have contort your head and take care not to poke your eyes out trying to get to the inner corner lashes but once on this certainly does work but needs at least 2 coats to be really effective fort he extra length, after which when you put your mascara on it appear to have more depth from the blue primer beneath and lashes definitely do look fuller - more thicker than longer, though slightly longer too. But it makes putting on a mascara I've loved for its fullness and ease-of-use a lot more work as on it's own I can have it on neat and fine in seconds, but with this underneath it clumps and I have to separate with a pin, which is a pain. Lashes do then look slightly overdone for my everyday liking, though would look good for a night out and probably stay looking at their best for longer as well being easier to clean off at the end of the night. Not an essential for me so I'd probably only get again if it was on offer but if you need some extra length or want to juice up your favourite mascara for a night out then it's not a bad option if you can forgive the awkward wand.

I'm not going to lie, I didn't know mascara primer was a thing until seeing this. I do sometimes get issues with clumping lashes and wanted to give this a go to see if it lived up to the longer, fuller and darker claims. I'm actually pretty impressed.Pros:- Lovely vibrant blue pigment on its' own- Actually does make lashes look more "fanned" - curlier and fuller- Doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes- Helps prevent clumping when mascara is applied- Non-traditional "rubber-like bristles" unlike mascaras, seems to lift lashes more and provide resistanceCons:- Pretty pricey- Very stiff brush so can pull on lashes when applying - but this might be designed this wayOverall,I'd recommend this product if you feel like you need a mascara primer. You probably would survive without one, but if you have issues with clumping or want blue lashes, or want your mascara to have a bit more oomph, then this is for you. It's easy to remove with good eye makeup remover, doesn't feel hard on and looks really pretty.

I've never used a lash primer before so didn't know what to expectFirst time I used it I noticed an improvement in lash separation and it sort of 'sets' your lashes in place before using mascara. The brush is made of very fine bristles which I think helps with the separationIt made my lashes look as though they have more volume and length and also mascara seems to go on better on top of the primer rather than straight onto lashesIt's blue in colour but doesn't show up blue once it's on and it's covered by mascara anywayI'll now always use this primer before applying mascara and will buy it again once it's run out but I might try the Max Factor 'Lash Revival'Primer as wellI'd highly recommend it and it's definitely worth a try as it's not that expensive either

I am really impressed with my new max factor false lash effect max out blue primer. Very easy to apply also easy to see where it has been applied because the primer is blue. It took about three coats to get an even coverage. Then after I applied my normal everyday mascara on top I noticed that it really did make a difference useing the primer underneath. My eyelashes where fuller and slightly longer. I also didn't need to apply as much mascara as I normally would to get an even coverage. All in all I am really impressed with this product I will definitely purchase this product again. I highly recommend this product. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I recently purchased the ‘False lash effect max out primer’ by MAX FACTOR, and I have to say it has been a whole game changer. The product is made to max out the boldness of your normal mascara and allow the blue pigments to make your eyes appear more darker and brighter. The application is fairly easy, just apply 3 or more coats of the max factor primer and add your normal mascara on top. The product is affordable and can be purchased in any high street beauty store. The finishing look is absolutely stunning and I would definitely recommend this product to anyone who loves the darker and bolder eye look. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I genuinely love this! I wasn’t too sure about the colour blue but it is such a subtle shade that it is not awful like it sounds. I have no problems wearing this during the day to go out and about and to work. The brush is simply amazing. It has lots of tiny little picks in a circular shape and it feels and looks like each eyelash is separated! Add some regular black mascara makes my eyelashes look incredible. They really do look longer and fuller and more curly and I’m loving that my eyelashes aren’t clamping together but so beautifully separated. I loved this from the very first use! I have had this Max Factor primer for over a month and I find using it as a blue mascara more often rather than as a primer, it works well, it coats every lash and gives them a lift, making lashes look as if they have mascara.I absolutely love that the primer is a blue in colour, I don’t need to worry and ensure that every lash is coated with mascara, with white primers, that is exactly what needs to be done or white lashes will be visible. Overall I am very very impressed with this primer and will be replacing my premium brand primers with Max Factor Max out primer. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
