Although I was quite sceptical about this product, having been using it for nearly a week now it's won me over, but mostly because I've ignored and discarded anything Max Factor had to say about how to get this onto my lashes!I can't help but feel this is another example of what works for a make up artist, doesn't work when you apply it to yourself. There is no way you're going to get this brush to "hug the eye line like an eye lash curler". The bristles are far too long for this on average density eyelashes...and if you can get the brush to do this, you probably don't need mascara. The short but wide brush size is daunting (it's huge compared to my usual brand of mascara). It feels too big and I used it very cautiously the first time as I felt I was more likely to get product on anything other my eye-lashes, especially when following Max Factors directions...(off the Max Factor website)Step 1 - The secret to curls that won't collapse is volume at the bottom not at the tips. always lift the brow, drawing the lashes up high so you can get the brush deep into the rootStep 2 - Start by pressing curl addict mascara deep into your lash lineStep 3 - Wiggle the brush to load the perfect dose at the roots and draw it up gently to the tips of your lashesStep 4 - Reposition and repeat the curling action over and over and over until your achieve your dream curl effectThat there, is a recipe for product in your eye, don't do it.The product also looks a bit too thick on the brush, but by the second application I'd got used to the brush size, and whilst the product is quite thick, it isn't excessively so on application. It doesn't clump. I think this is in part due to the density and size of the bristles on the brush which does draw the product evenly through the lashes. Due to the curve of the brush I was able to apply to every lash evenly, by finding a technique that worked for me (which was often by using the brush in a completely different way to way I'd usually use one) and the coverage is fantastic. It definitely makes my average lashes look much thicker with good curl.I'm not entirely convinced by the claim of "innovative, buildable formula allows for bespoke curl creation, and quick and effective touch-ups". Yes, on first application you can definitely build up the lashes with subsequent applications. But if you touch them up half way through the day, like most mascaras, the effect isn't that desirable. A little better than other mascaras I've used, but hardly innovative. It's very easy to remove. Most of it comes off with face wash, and the rest lifts very easily with a regular cleanser, removing all traces. This was a huge selling point for me, as I don't react well to eye-make up removers and most mascaras seem to require this is you want to remove all traces. So all in all, I'd definitely buy this having tested it, but Max Factor would do well to tone down some of the selling points and give better application advice.

I'm not too sure about Max Factor 2000 Calorie Curl Addict Mascara, maybe it's not my preference but I think it's still a nice mascara and maybe better suited to people who want a more natural lash look. The brush is a little too big for my liking; I prefer a smaller brush with more spaced-out shorter rubber style bristles that can get into the corners of my eyes easily, this wand picked-up most of my lashes well but I couldn't pick up the little corner lashes or lower lashes well. The formula was unusual in that it felt really thick and dry, it went on fine without clumps and didn't dry-out while wearing it, but not as buildable as I'd like and guess it'll dry out quickly with regular use. It's nice enough,my lashes were noticeably curled but this mascara didn't give me much in terms of volume and gave no length, it looked really nice on but I think I prefer length over curl. Good, try it, but not #1 for me.

Blinking heck!!!!Mascara is normally a whole load of disappointment. The adverts look awesome then i try it and i cant see much of an effect, but this stuff, holy moly, false lash effect after two coats!Ive included pics because the effect is just awesome. Sorry for my atrocious photography attempts, ancient phone but i hope you can see the difference between no mascara and mascara. This colour is brown black and is really is just a very very dark brown, its less harsh than black, especially for day wear.It lasts well the only down side is the curved brush is absolutely useless on my spindly lower lashes.Im probably not supposed to put mascara there but i do <shrug>.This mascara comes off eaisly with a wipe and hasnt run so far!

A nice mascara that stays for a long time without smudging. I found after a full day's way - morning to bed-time it had slightly smudged, but not bad at all for 14 hours wear. On a half day wear there was no smudging. It was easy to remove with cotton wool and water. All the calorie curl claim is exaggerated. It's a great every day mascara but don't expect miracles. The brush is wave-shaped and I guess is supposed to curl the lashes as you apply the mascara, but frankly I didn't notice any difference between this and my usual Boots waterproof mascara. I do like that it comes in black-brown. Brown mascaras are not always easy to find.Verdict. A good, long-lasting mascara, but don't expect it to give you that full on mega eyelash look.

I have tried so many mascaras over the years, mainly Boots, Avon, Rimmel, Revlon and many more, but few Max Factor. This is a good mascara, as it is a good brush shape and gives good coverage and definition. My lashes are a bit sparse from illness, but this did coat them well and built them up after a few coats and made them look more lush and longer. I didn't notice any more curl, but I always use an eyelash curler first anyway.I think the build-up of two or more layers works for me and if you have longer, thicker lashes you may require just the one coat. It does make my lashes look more substantial and the mascara is not runny or smudgy like many are.I would use again.

This is shorter than my usual mascaras the container is 4" long. This means I would definitely choose it to take away, as it's also quite light. As for the brush, I've never seen one shaped like this. It's sort of like a sausage dog drooping in the tummy, a definite curve and quite fat and bulky. I did find it a little awkward to apply, starting off, but I used a twisting motion of the brush and my lashes curled and looked longer. Quite impressive, but it's a knack. The packaging, I would think, is aimed at the younger market. I'm not sure what 2000 calorie is supposed to be proclaiming as it's the amount of calories most women are generally regarded as needing per day.

What on earth is "2000 Calorie Curl Addict" is supposed to mean? Anyhow, ignoring the hyperbole of the labeling I was happy to give this Max Factor product a try.The brush applicator is slightly curved and quite thick. I found my first efforts to apply the mascara resulted in a bit of a mess but I improved with practice. The actual mascara is fine and looks good and stays on well. I like the fact that this is black/brown as most mascaras only come in black.I like the shiny red and black container - but wish that the applicator brush was finer.

Max Factor 2000 Calorie Curl Addict Mascara is one excellent mascara which left my stubby eyelashes looking so much healthier, full of body and curled them at the ends without the need for me having to use another beauty tool. The actual mascara is applied using a very handy wand which is shaped like your eyelashes with the bristles of the wand being different lengths I was able to coat each lash fully and very easily.Max Factor 2000 Calorie Curl is a great mascara and one which provides first-class results.Happy to recommend.

The product was used and tested by my wife whose comments and feedback were used as the basis for this review.I love good mascara, I have quite thin lashes and so its always a challenge to try to add volume and definition. The tightly-packed bristles allows you to evenly spread the mascara thus prevent clumping, the shape of the brush allows you to create a certain amount of curl to the lash. The size means it can be easily stored in a bag/pocket/purse. Recommend.

This is a great mascara especially for its price. The brush is nicely curved and I found it easy to use. It certainly made a difference to my eyelashes giving good length, colour and curl after two coats. Didn't notice it clump or go dry and flaky. it was fairly easy to remove with make up remover. As a mascara with a fairly cheap price tag it delivers a great result wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

This is a nice mascara which is black in colour, when applying the mascara it does appear to put a nice curl in the lashes, the mascara also keeps the lashes separate giving a fuller look to the lashes,it does not appear to give a sticky clumpy look to the lashes either which is good news,Max Factor is a major player in the make up world and have a good track record within the business,a nice mascara.

At the momen this mascara is offered at less than half price, so that is a good deal for a Max Factor product.Comes in a nice attractive case, but the contents are the most important thing.Black/brown in colour this mascara has a curved want so that the mascara is applied to the shape of the eye lashes.I really like this mascara and at this price it is a snip

This is a very good mascara which coats your lashes beautifully, gives a little curl and doesn't shed or leave clumps. The wand has a curved, thick brush which is easy to use. It's a natural look - just better. You'll need more that one coat if you want volume but for me, one coat and longer, natural looking lashes is perfect.

I’m not convinced the curved brush is really any improvement on an ordinary brush, but this is pretty good mascara. It takes a couple of goes to get the full effect, but it separates the lashes nicely and the overall result is quite impressive. I’ll definitely keep using this.

Great product and price! Easy to apply, no clumps and spreads evenly on eye lashes.I would like to point out the packaging from Amazon though. The size of mascara is only about 4 inches (if that) . It arrived in an A4 cardboard packaging. Completely unnecessary...
