I have been using this product for about half a year, and this is what I can tell you from my experience so far.Pros:>Very cheap card reader>Supports an impressive variety of storage formats>Compact design>No power cable required>Easy installationCons:>Cheaply built; only the essential parts are included in the design, materials feel cheap and a little fragile, not a big issue once it's in your computer though. As an extension, looking at the slots from certain angles lets you see inside your PC>Micro SD slot is flawed in design - VERY easy to get your Micro SD card stuck in the machine, requiring you to open it up to retrieve the cardConclusion:If you're looking for a wallet-friendly,highly functional card reader, you can find it here. There is no truly substantial reason for you not to buy this, but that doesn't mean it's without the flaws often found in the lower end.A final note: The USB port included with this reader is not well suited to charging devices as opposed to reading a flash drive or transferring data from a device. You would be better off using a wall adapter.

I have a tight space in my HTPC for this, and it worked... I bought it because I though I might have to cut the back off, and this would be really easy to do that... What I ended up doing was installing it in a hole in the case that was meant for factory front panel audio and USB ports... I had to modify the case a little and make new holes with little screws through the sides of this to make it work... point is, it works...The light isn't an issue for me because there's a flap that covers this entire unit most of the time, but if it does bug you enough, you can easily clip the leads and take it out completely...I was finding it difficult to find a low profile reader with MicoSD and didn't look terrible on the front...this fit the bill... any more, they should just make ones with MicroSD, standard SD, and then the rest USB ports... most of the other reader slots will probably never be used...

I love these multi-card readers! They are small, light weight and made of plastic. They are perfect retrofits for the useless floppy drive slots in Dell Optiplex Small Form Factor (SFF) 745, 755, 760 and 780s. As the SFFs are so compact, there is only a small space to squeeze a card reader in there. Other brands’ readers are too long to fit and interfere with the memory or power supply. Not these! They fit like a charm and don’t require any modification. They even have the correct motherboard plug on them. Some others don’t. (Just use your original Dell special screws.)Since Dell no longer sells their version of the multi-card reader, I’ve used these as direct replacements for the Dell OEM part when it goes bad.No modifications, no fuss! As I mentioned before, I’m very happy with the price I paid too!

It's not perfect, it could use another USB slot instead of a micro-sd slot, you typically have adapter's around that'll allow you to read it in the SDHC slot; but, that doesn't detract from its usefulness in filling an - otherwise - unused 3.5" bay on a tower. Good price, great alternative to the 5.25" readers if you don't have an extra one of those slots, and easy to install: IF you have an extra plug on your MB for an internal usb 9-pin hookup. Do NOT try to piggy-back this with a splitter, it will NOT work with W7 (x64, Ult). The OS will not load proper drivers, or recognize the slots as drives, if you try to use this through a 9-pin SPLITTER to the MB.

Haven't tried the CF slot yet (and from what I've read about other units this is the slot you have to be careful interting the card into), but all the rest work fine.It was easy eanough to install and connect up. Like others I don't see the point in the green LED being on all the time. It turns red when there's a card inserted, but not when the USB cable to my phone is connected for some reason, but not an issue.I'm happy enough.

I have a tray style tower that has the easy out trays with mount points. My old card reader that died that this replaced was the full length of a regular CD drive. This is VERY compact. I had to spin the tray around and only screw in the rear screw to make it sit flush with the face of our tower. Aside from that, which I took one star off for, it is excellent. Very fast reader, and no complaints otherwise.

I've purchased many of these over the past couple of years for installation in customer computers as well as our own computers in our office. These work great with my SD and microSD cards! The USB port on the front also works flawlessly even after heavy use. I haven't had any issues out of ours and have not received any complaints from our customers for this product. I will continue purchasing these!

Mounted up nice and clean.Cons:Power led stays on as long as the computer is plugged in. I was able to disable the power LED by clipping the lead closest to the housing that goes to the LED, with this mod the activity half of the LED still functions.3/4 of the SD card sticks out of the reader.

Works great, to bad the housing to fit the 2.5" bay is silver and not matching black like the actual unit itself, but you can remove it from the stock housing if your pc case has an adapter 2.5" drive/bay. Performance and operating has been great so far:) Would buy again if needed!

It's ok for being plastic and the low price, it works. The light stay's on after shut down because your syt is in USB standby power, you can change that in the BIOS under power management, some motherboards require you to switch a jumper, I'v only seen one board like that.

Works great.. Happy wife, happy me! Make sure you have the 3.5" adapter for the 5.25" tray if your case doesn't come with one. Wouldn't fit in my 3.5" slot... Fortunately my case had a 5.25" bay with the insert already in it.

My old one wouldn't read the newer SDHD cards for some reason, but this one works fine, My only complaint is that the USB port in upside down so the indicator LED is facing down instead of up, but I've had no problems,

No trouble installing. Windows XP found and installed it with no trouble. If you "mount" the drives as files on your computer it doesn't use any drive letters.Update.It was also no trouble installing on Windows 7

After having to replace my computer case, I bought one of these units and it works flawlessly. It's ideal for rebuilders and a nessessary item when the original one is trashed. No problems at all. Super kool item.

Nice and easy to install in the blanked floppy disc space. Had a problem with reading sd cards on a usb multi card plug in reader, but this "on board" set up did the job nicely. recommended.
