Bought the 240 volt makita trimmer a few months previous and found it to be a great little tool, light weight and a solid build. I bought this attachment to make it a more versatile tool as my 1/4 inch trend router had died.While a little expensive (I'm in for about £180 with the trimmer and this plunge base!) I cannot fault it. It feels comfortable in the hand, the depth stop works nice, dust extraction is good and the plunge action is spot on with no play.The guide bush size is different from the trimmer which is a bit annoying but Makita do sell an adapter. But to be honest I like to have the extra width so you can see the cutting process.The main advantage of this base for me is that I plan to buy the cordless trimmer (body only)

Awesome, nice fit for the Makita trimmer.It's very solid, little or no wiggle on the base. The rubber grips are solid.No dust extractor vent included, you need to buy that separately, which is a bit tight to be honest given that it's made out of super cheap plastic.The finish on the tool is good, the motion is smooth and it's reasonably easy to set distances.If you're pondering whether to get this or one of the cheaper copies, save your pennies and get this one. There are many parts to this base that one cheap replacement or badly formed screw would turn it into more trouble than it's worth. You'll save yourself a lot of grief by just getting this one.

A beautifully made plunge base like all Makita's products. Just be aware that this does not take the 'black coloured ' Makita template guides. The insert ring on this is only 68 mm and the Makita guide plate is 74 mm in diameter. It will however accept the adapter plate sold by Makita for aftermarket Porter Cable type bush sets. They usually come with the adaper plate anyway.It seems an odd design decision by Makita ?

I stupidly purchased the basic fixed router. However the addition of the plunge base base turns a very good router into an excellent router. Far easier to control with plunger and easy to fit. The only negative point being the adjusting screw being very stiff to turn. I think that this is due to the paint or Lacquer on the thread. Hopefully this will loosen off but in a while. Overall, I am very pleased.

This is a really useful accessory for the RT0700. My only niggle was that the clamp needed a tweak, as it was too tight to initially fit the router. Not sure if it was a one-off, but a gentle prising out solved the issue, but not until I had scratched the router cylinder. That said, it has been faultless since, as you'd expect from Makita kit.

Looks well made, but as I haven't used it yet I can't say how well it works with the partnering router. In fact, it is telling that I have used the router many times and yet I haven't felt the need to use this attachment with it! So I guess that translates to "don't buy this unless you know you need it !"

This us a great product, it fits straight onto the makita trimmer,It works perfectly with my trend skeleton hinge jig,The trend 16mm guide bush fits into the base perfectly with no hassle.Really is a well built solid bit of kit, and will be getting used on a daily basis by myself. Very happy with it.

Best price on the internet☝?. Well made product and will last for a long time. Missing a dust extractor attachment ( this is sold separately ) which is a shame , frustrating having to buy different parts which brings up total cost.

A fantastic plunge base to use with my Makita DRT50 18v cirdkess router. Easy to set up with an guide bush (not included) to use with my Trend hinge jig to make fitting butt hinges, and handing doors so much easier and quicker

It transforms a very useful trimmer into a lovely light weight plunge router. The biggest advantage is that you can turn it on and off while still holding on with two hands. Better for confidence and safety.

Bought this to go with the Makita Trimmer (RT0700) fits well. Only issues, find a template that will fit. going to look at an insert and then a selection of brass guide bushes. but doing that after Xmas.

I purchased this plunge base which is good however it didn't come with the two rod guide that would slide against the edge of the wood. I can't find this guide for sale separately. Please advise anyone.

It's a plunge base, what more can you say about it? It's just as advertised, good and sturdy, was a bit weary of getting a Chinese knock off but it's the real deal. Can recommend.
