This is a very handy little device for when you need to route something and don't want to put the effort in, or don't own a router. You screw your Dremel into the holder with a suitable bit, set the plunge depth and you're good to go. You do need some kind of guide, a piece of 2x4 or similar will do the job - any straight edge. The crosspiece on the device is a bit wobbly and it doesn't actually align straight enough so if you're trying to drill through some tougher material it's liable to wiggle a bit. For something like perspex or acrylic though, this is great. It struggles on thicker wood, I tried to route some 0.5" MDF and it was OK, but the Dremel wasn't really up to it.The bit kept on snagging and the aforementioned wobble stopped me from really doing a good job of it. Bottom line is if you need to do big straight things, most of the time a cheap saw will do the job faster and cleaner. The circle cutter works in a similar way, there's a pin which you whack into your material and then rotate the Dremel around it. You're limited to a fairly small size and frankly using a hole saw is a lot easier, but if you need to route an arc or something similar then this might just be what you need. Again though, the slightly poor construction means you can't guarantee a quality finish on you work.Should you buy it? Probably, it's a cheap attachment and doesn't seem to be nearly as bad as some of the Dremel products (e.g. the drill press). If you're only cutting soft woods and plastic then you'll have no problems at all. Harder and thicker products will struggle. I haven't tried metal, but I suspect if you were slow you could easily cut thin sheet aluminium.

this gets 5 stars and a thumbs up from me because it does exactly what it's supposed to...i bought it to cut a hole for a speaker in a DIY back surround (6.1) speaker (i just wish i'd bought it for the initial 4 holes i had to cut)...you do need to take your time with it. for 18mm MDF i did 3 passes with my Dremel attached to the hole cutter, but for the last cut i freehanded it because it was just a case of finishing off the already established cut.....when i first constructed this speaker/box i had 4 holes to cut initially for 2 woofers & 1 tweeter, and a port, but thought i could fabricate something similar to this hole cutter and cut the holes that way, however this Dremel tool has been designed with thought, and doesn't slip or move away from the hole centre when cutting (unlike my hastily cobbled together contraption).definitely worth buying for Dremel-related activities, or DIY work. as said above; it's not a router, but it does work as it's supposed tojust to add: the accompanying pic is of the back of the speaker which i mentioned. the thing in the middle is something i put in temporarily to stop the cut-out falling into the enclosure

Great item for cutting straight lines.I needed to make a laser shield for my CNC machine and so straight edges were necessary.I opted for this as I knew the cuts would be less than 11cm from the edge of the laser shield acrylic (11cm being the maximum for straight cuts. It's 30cm diameter for circles). The ease with which this did the job was amazing. Each cut took less than a minute and the item provided straight lines each time.I would recommend this product if you want to achive straight lines but don't forget the 11cm max depth... So if you want to cut something say 20cm from the side of the material it won't help.

I needed to be able to cut a circular base from MDF and this was the perfect tool. With just a pilot hole for the circle cutter's pivot point I was easily able to use a rotary cutting bit for my Dremel 3000 to complete a perfect circle. There was some blowout of the MDF at the bottom but that could have been easily resolved by cutting slower and/or starting with a shallow groove cut followed by deeper cuts until it was cut through. It does what it's built for, and I'm no expert.

If you want to cut non standard circles in thin wood, plastic or light metal this tool does an excellent job provided you take care and work on a stable base. This isn't a router so take your time and don't force it and the results will be very good. The edging guide is a useful addition when you want to cut parallel to an edge etc and the same rules apply as above. I had sought a means to cut discs out of plastic or aluminum and this solved the problem nicely.

This solid little attachment has turned out to be absolutely ideal for the use I needed it for, which was cutting neat circular grooves into timber. It secures to your Dremel solidly, using the headstock threads, and the adjustment fittings are metal based, and grip very securely in use. After a couple of attempts, I was soon producing absolutely perfect results despite relatively limited woodworking skills. Very pleased with it.

This was delivered within 2 days of ordering. So top marks there. The item is really good, gives nice cut out circles as you would expect. My only 'gripe' with it is, getting a consistent depth on the cuts. Hence the four stars. Perhaps it's just me not using it correctly, and with more practice I will will resolve this issue. But on a whole, highly recommended.

Well thought out and very useful line/circle cutter. For those who are unsure of it’s use, you can cut lines or circles using this tool (LOL). Easy to attach to your Dremel rotary drill (don’t know if it will fit other makes) and is very useful for making straight or circular cats - much better than trying to follow a hand drawn line/circle.Very pleased

I bought one for modding my PC Case. I needed a 200mm diameter Circle cut. This accessory did the job perfectly, highly recommended for that particular task. I think the results are more consistent than what you will get using a jigsaw especially if you are not keen with power-tools. I did't gave it a 5star because of the poor numbering at the arm.

Does an ok job of cutting circles. It might be my technique, but when using this with a mains powered dremel, the mains lead tends get in the way at some point through the 360 degree rotation. This then inevitably affects how perfect a circle you end up with.Good for home DIY projects, but there is probably a more professional alternative.

Love this! It isn't the easiest to use as the scales on it are accurate to a mm or two at best, and it flexes a bit with a large Dremel tool so you have to hold it just so, but get it right and it will give you large diameter circles much more accurate and in much less time than I have ever achieved with a jig saw and sanding.

Such a great piece of kit. Was fitting my shop with lights in suspended ceiling. First few holes took ages to get right and they were never pretty. Then I bought this. Forget about it. Makes life and the job so much easier. Makes the most perfect hole you can get.

This is great addition and works well with the Dremel. However, you have to take your time and not rush the process of cutting both circles or straight lines. I would practice on a piece of scrap timber/ply before proceeding to the job you are working on.

This is a great addition to my Dremel collection of attachments, this attachment is very easy to use and makes perfect circles.Simple to attach and has a depth gauge,I have used this to rout coffee coasters and very happy with results.Highly recommend.

Works well, although little awkward to setup as instructions did not feel very intuitive, I bought actually for a parkside and worked well despite not being a dremel, but that parkside has not failed on me so may ending buying a dremel instead.
