I've tried many products on my lips over the years. Lipsticks, lip glosses, lip stains. This L'Oreal Matte Max lipstick is quickly becoming one of my favorites. Despite the thin plasticy packaging feeling a little cheap I found the design of the applicator, and the product itself a pleasure to use. The product comes as a long pen style with a screw off lid which is black and the bottom is a fairly accurate representation of the colour inside. Twist off the top and the foam tipped applicator springs out from inside the product. The fat pointed tip means a fantastic application with precise lines, at least for me. The broadness of the applicator also spread the product evenly across my lips with just a swipe or two.I was pleasantly surprised at the consistency of this matte lipstick. I don't know what I was expecting exactly, but I was pleased that a matte lip product containing micro oils wasn't drying at all and wasn't sticky, thick or gloopy. It was just a soft, silky dry powder that almost melted onto the lips and smoothed out beautifully. It was really easy to put this on in a thin layer or to re-dip the sponge back in and twist it, to get a second layer. This lipstick just blended like a dream and there were no lines or streaks and it didn't sit on top of the previous layer if I wanted to add several coats. The more coats I added the deeper and more opaque the lipstick became. But it still only one layer. I can't say definitely how long this would last, however on me it lasted for several hours despite eating and drinking. It did fade eventually but faded evenly and still looked ok. Even though this is a Matt lipstick it was not drying on me and this is due to the micro oils. People with dry lips may not like this though but for me personally I absolutely loved using it. I will definitely be purchasing other colours. L'oreal's website describes being able to use two colours for an ombre look which sounds intriguing and I would love to have a go at this. This 002 Like a Virgin shade is a beautiful dark, dusky pink and on me is fairly bright but muted. However those of you with pale lips might find this shade a little too dark and bold but you can vary the depth of colour by how much or how little you apply.I absolutely love love love this product.I like it more every time use it. I cannot think of a single downside to it and I can't wait to get more colours, especially the purple one!One last thing.... I've read a couple of reviews saying they've put lip gloss or balm over the top of this. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND doing this, it makes a mess and it is meant to be matt so if your lips are that dry, you probably won't like this product.

I was initially intrigued by this product described as having "a velvet soft feel for up to 8 hours" and being enriched with micro oils and was eager to try it out. On initial inspection, its tube was longer than any other lipstick I owned - quite a bit longer. It has a black lid on a coloured base. The base has the colour number stamped in black. It's not a true likeness to the actual shade, but it gives a rough indication. The plastic packaging feels cheap to be honest, and for a l'Oreal product there could have been more attention to detail, and a better quality of material used. The black lid twists off - but then suddenly pops up, as the "wand" itself is on a spring mechanism. This allows it to retract inside itself when the lid is closed. The end of the wand has a large, fairly fat, sponge tipped applicator, which is sitting in the product contained in the base. This sponge has a nice point at the tip and feels very solid and sturdy. The product itself is a soft matt powder, tightly compressed inside the coloured tube, and the sponge needs twisting around a few times to coat it with product. Unlike other reviewers of this product, I found the size and shape of the sponge perfect for my lips. It created a good, solid line and filled in my lips effortlessly and quickly. It glided onto my lips, was dry in texture and velvety soft, but not drying. I was able to put a thin single layer on, or build it up to make the colour more opaque. As I dipped my sponge in for a second time or third, it simply blended in and didn't create thick layers, lumps or streaks. There was also, surprisingly, no transfer onto my teeth! This matt lipstick lasted fairly well, I cannot say it lasted 8 hours on me as I had drinks and ate food, which inevitably made the lipstick wear off in the middle ... but then all lipsticks do this. The colour was still visible around the rest of my lips though, and had faded nicely without leaving harsh looking lines. It didn't bleed or settle into lines either. The remaining lipstick was easily removed by my cleanser or my make up remover. This shade 002 Like a Virgin is a dusky pink/coral shade and I really liked it. I'm tempted to get another shade to try out the two tone ombre look that it suggests on their website. All in all a very nice product, with average lasting power and despite being matt it felt weightless and soft on my lips without drying them out. Would have felt much higher quality with a hard glossy lid and clear glass/plastic tube, which would enable you to see how much product was remaining.

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Max Lipstick is a good looking lipstick which has a new way of applying lipstick which is certainly a unique way for me to apply lipstick, as with this one it is a sponge applicator which is pressed into a small tube of lipstick this is the actual cap/top of the lipstick.L''Oreal have certainly thought of everything when they designed this lippy. The lipstick is a very matte look which is very trendy plus the added bonus it has long lasting power. I have tested this long lasting power which is not as good as the makers state. The colour on your lips after eating or meal or having a drink is usually a lip stain though the stain is a lot stronger than the usual lip stain you would receive from other lipsticks.Because of the makers using powder pigments, this has a dry feel to it. I would recommend you apply lip balm first of all, as this will simply add a protection to your lips especially with the matte look does leave you with a drier lip which for some people can be very dry and uncomfortable. Using the balm does not remove the matt look, it simply makes it more comfortable for your lips.Applying the colour I use the sponge applicator to line my lips and even to add definition especially on the cupid's bow area of the lips but this is my own personal preference - other users might prefer another way of applying this very high pigmented lipstick.I do like how this lipstick looks when applied as the colour stands out, and for me if you want to get noticed I would highly recommend this lipstick as it will definitely help you stand out in the crowd.I am happy to recommend this colour in the brand off LiOreal Paris Infallible Matte Max Lipstick as it has a strong red, definite bright strong vibrant colour.

My main cosmetic firm I use is L’Oréal not just for their makeup but also for their creams, wipes, nail polish, cleansers and toners. So when I was asked if I would like to review their L’Oréal Paris Infallible Matte Max Lipstick Number 007, Say My Name, I was really pleased and said yes. With having allergies I stay with the brands I know so I don’t get reactions, (like I’ve had in the past with store own brands). This is L’Oréal’s first no compromise matte lip pen and the firm say it gives “with maximum impact, maximum effects and up to 8 hour wear”.L’Oréal has also designed a new lip applicator which is a small triangular shaped sponge that you dip into the lipstick,(looks a little odd to see at first). Now with having natural light blonde hair, blue eyes and skin that’s extremely pale I normally wear very pale pink lipstick but I wanted to try a darker colour. So onto the lipstick. The applicator feels odd at first when using it, (but that’s just because it’s something different and I’m not used it), but the lipstick goes on really easy, and you can vary the depth of the colour you want by how much weight you put on the applicator. So I was able to vary my shade, (I like a lighter shade then the full bold colour of the red).Once on it feels lovely this id due to the micro-oils that the firm uses within the lipstick. When taking the lipstick off it came off fairly easy.L’Oréal says that it should last up to eight hours. Now I wore this when I was going out for a meal. In total it lasted about four and a half hours, which I thought was pretty good.Personally for me this is a colour I’d only wear at night time as for my colouring it’s a little too bold for during the day.

I am a big fan of lip pens or lip inks, having used products like Lancôme Potion of Love and Max Factor Lipfinity for many years until they were discontinued. I like that you get a really nice tint without the heaviness of a full lipstick, and was thus very keen to try L'Oreal's take on a lip pen. This Infallible Matt lipstick differs from the other lip pens I've tried in that the pen doesn't come with the familiar fibre tip - you get a slightly domed (almost phallic!) sponge tip instead. The colour is also more matt than any other lip pen I've used before but happily not drying. The shade in question - 007 - is quite hard to describe - midway between a classic red and a deep fuchsia pink and very vivid.Great for a glam night out, but you might want to blot it down for a daytime look. It doesn't have huge staying power, a lot of the product wearing off as I ate, but the beauty of lip pens is they leave a really nice subtle stain behind so you still have a hint of colour lingering on your lips. The pen was easy to use - more chunky marker than elegant liner style. One thing I noted and liked was that the cap actually screws on rather than snaps on, which is a boon with inks as they tend to dry out quite easily.Overall, I would probably have preferred a slightly darker and more berry tone to suit my colouring but I think there's nothing much wrong with the formulation and I would definitely consider buying other shades. Lip inks are my absolute favourite type of lip product as they impart colour with no gloop (like a gloss) or obvious emphasis of lines (like a cream lipstick) and are brilliant for ageing lips. Worth a try if you haven't dabbled with this type of formulation before.

First off, the case to this lipstick looks cheap. Believe me, this matters when on a girls night out and on a bathroom group visit. When using any matte lipstick it's vitally important to keep your lips well moisturised, and not just 5 minutes before application . If lip balm is applied before using this lipstick it will just slide straight off. So, moisturise your lips overnight ladies!I find the best results for using matte lipsticks are to line your lips first. For this shade 'Virgin' I used an Essence lipliner shade ' A Girl's Dream'. I then tip the pencil on its side and lightly shade the rest of my lips to create a base for the lip colour to stick to. Now for the actual application of this L'Oreal Infallible lipstick. The brush on this is not in fact a brush but a pointed sponge applicator which is loaded with colour each time you take it out of the tube. If you have a very steady hand it is possible to line your lips using the point, but i wasn't able to do that. The applicator goes black when the colour needs reloading.Once applied the lipstick feels smooth and creamy- although I have to again emphasise the importance of moisturising your lips for it to feel like this! As to the claim of it lasting up to 8 hours I'm afraid I give a big thumbs down. After all of my efforts this colour only lasted as long as my first coffee and then needed reapplying .To sum up, the colour is great with good pigmentation. However, it has no staying power and the case looks cheap.

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Max Lipstick is a good enough lipstick if you can accept putting your lipstick on with a little sponge tip which reminded me personally of what used to be provided with eyeshadows. IThis colour is really nice and I did like it, the matt look is very trendy at the present time and with the sponge applicator this is applied very easily but for me personally the matte look might have been trendy but for me personally I prefer a more moisturised texture to my lips. The makers promise 8 hours of colour which is certainly the case but I would state it it more of a "staining" rather than a full lip colour, which is not bad for a lipstick.Though with the matte look I thought my lips would feel very dry, which is pleasing for me though they did feel tight nearer the end of the day. I did find if I ate something or took a drink I would have to reapply the lipstick, though I do find that is normal with most lipsticks as I do like a full coverage on my lips. One reason why I did like applying this brand of lipstick was using the sponge applicator I was able to line my lips and define my cupids bow without using a lip liner.I would happily recommend the L'Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Max Lipstick to those who like the "matte" look on your lips this is a great lipstick which provides a first class high pigmented colour.

This is a good Matte lipstick, it's like nothing I have ever used before. The shade is very near to the colour on the cap, which isn't always the case with products. On opening the lipstick with a twist off motion, you see a rather bulb shaped end which is rather plump. The colour in this case a matte red (007) is not on the wand end but in the red cap area, this is quite confusing as you would expect the colour to come from beneath the soft tip end. On applying the colour, it dries quite quickly and has a very dry feeling on the lips. In my opinion this should be followed up with a lip gloss, As I found it to too drying after about 15 mins, and I applied a lip gloss which felt a lot better. The rather fat soft tipped applicator makes it difficult to get a good line on my lips, but makes for a great filler in. I found the lipstick easy to remove, but after my granddaughter use it to compare any colour difference on her much younger lips,(we found no difference) she found it very difficult to remove and had to wear the colour all day. This wasn't a problem as she liked the shade. This L'Oréal 007 " Say my name" lipstick is a great buy and I can recommend it, and therefore It's 5* from me folks.

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Matte Max Lipstick is one lipstick which does work very well, and I do like the fact it leaves a stain on my lips even after eating. I applied this with the sponge applicator which reminded me of the old fashioned applicator I used to apply my eyeshadow with. When you push the applicator into the lipstick holder it feels like a loaded spring which is within the applicator while the lipstick is held within the lid. This for me is a new way of applying lipstick, but then I could be behind the times as I always return to my old favourites when purchasing items such as lipstick. After using this lippy I would say I would return for this once again as it does apply nicely giving a good coverage. The lipstick does last well though I ate a plum while wearing this lipstick and I had to immediately reapply to get the same coverage I previously had. This is a very matte look and if you prefer a shinier lip coverage a simple addition of balm or gloss soon sorts this out.I would recommend this lipstick as the colour is vibrant and it will certainly help you stand out in the crowd with lips which will help you get noticed in the crowd.

I was a little unsure about the colour of this lipstick from the Amazon description - I thought it might be too bold but, whilst still a strong pink colour, it isn't over the top. I love the matte finish - it almost has an old-fashioned Hollywood starlet look. Essentially the lipstick is applied with a sponge applicator which you dip into the reservoir in the lid. You can keep layering it to achieve the desired effect - I found I needed two applications for a daytime look, but a third application provided a sharp, defined look. The sponge applicator, which is tapered, makes it easy to get a neat finish in the corners of my lips. The only downside is that despite the layering of colour,it doesn't withstand eating and drinking and even without this only lasts about three hours before needing to be re-applied. Whilst it is on, the lipstick feels great - a lovely velvety texture that isn't at all drying.

Ok so asked my friend to test this one out.Firstly, the quantity. The actual lipstick dye/paste whatever it is, is stored in the red cap. So the big black tube is kind of misleading. She also had to dip the brush into the cap several times to get it loaded enough to complete doing her lips.Next she said the brush was really soft and applied the lip colour as effectively if not better than a traditional lipstick. However she did say the colour dye was very dry and said a lip gloss is a must !!!Next she removed it as she's a blonde and this colour (a dark rusty red) wasn't her. On trying to remove it she said it was very difficult to get off and said this would last all day,she said this would be prefect for someone who smoked and drank coffee all day as this stuff didn't want to come off at all.!!!!All in all she liked it but just needs a different colour.

This goes on with a slightly powdery finish - or so it feels, as there's no stickiness, no mess and immediately it's on, it feels smooth and dry. The colour is a deep berry/red/dark pink blend that looks great against my Asian skin, and which would look great against any complexion, fair or dark. The applicator is a sponge that tapers into a bit of an 'iced gem' so that application can be controlled and the pointed edge used to outline the lip. Once on, it doesn't come off when drinking hot drinks, or sauces or fat, so at the end of the day - a full 9hrs application - I had to wipe it off with a bit of cleanser and some tissue. It's good value for money, secures nice and tight so as not to spill and it seems that if you keep it with the top end down, there's no need to shake before application, as enough colour is on the sponge applicator.

The colour of this lipstick is rather more red than it seems from the image. I don't normally like red lippy but this one works with my pale skin. I like the matte finish - it almost has an old-fashioned Hollywood starlet look. The lipstick is applied with a sponge applicator which you dip into the reservoir in the lid. This is the second of these lip pens I have had - I needed to apply this one in several layers to build up the colour and for reasons I cannot fathom, this one bleeds in a way that a different colour from the same range did not. I was rather disappointed that, despite the smooth velvety texture, I needed to reapply after eating or drinking - I had expected it to have a bit more staying power. It only lasts about three hours in normal use before needing to be re-applied.
