I was lucky enough to try 5 different shades of this type of lipstick (see pic for swatches) plus the box set (which I would avoid as they looked like various shades of concealer on me) and I must say I'm impressed, even if all the shades aren't my 'colour' the staying power coupled with the finish and the chocolate scent on applying is a big win for me and these will certainly be part of my makeup wardrobe come Autumn-Winter.A little heavy for summer wear but perfect for the AW seasons these chocolate hued cream lipsticks have amazing staying power, they survived through meals, snacks, ice lollies and drinks with only the barest wearing in the very centre of the lips occurred a full 18 hours. This is great, no smudging or relocating across my face meaning you can trust to eat whilst wearing even the boldest colours without ending up looking like a evil clown, and you can be confident it should last without checking your reflection in anything shiny every two minutes.I tried these in 5 different colours and I will probably be adding a few out of my own pocket (eyes on Candyman) as they are so good.848 Dose of Cocoa- peachy beige, a nice nude for pale to medium-light skins a little too peachy for my cool complexion without the right matching makeup (bronzer and warm tones!) but great for warm toned skins though may be a little concealer lips for darker skins.864 Tasty Ruby- for me the most wearable of the selection I tried, a rich cherry blood red, perfect for a range of complexions due to its vibrancy. Yes it's bold on my pale skin, but it's got an earthiness thanks to the chocolates inspiration to the range that tones it to a rich vibrancy rather than tart brightness. This is a must have for me, a certain repurchase, please don't discontinue it Loreal!!856 70% Yum. A dark bitter chocolate brown, like you've smeared 70% Lindt over your lips in a heatwave during your haste to eat before it melts. Not as black as 85% cocoa chocolate it has a hint of creamy cocoa butter promise underneath but a rich heady brown that works fabulously on warm toned and darker skins, it's a little too brown for my English Rose paleness, (I need a little red-pink at my lips to look alive!!) but is nice to have in the collection, to be honest I can see myself using this as a cream shadow too as it's pretty much a perfect colour for making my eyes pop.866 Truffa Mania- this is the colour of ganache or milk chocolate truffles and would be amazing on a darker and warmer skintone than mine, again I need a little more pink to look alive, but by golly it's a gorgeous colour.868 Cacao Crush- a deep aubergine- blackberry stain tempered with darkest bitter chocolate- it reminds me of the so purple it's almost black used in hand coloured photographs of 1920s starlets, a gothy wonder stuff. This ones a keeper too, I do love this kind of colour especially in winter even if it's such a contrast against my super pale cool toned skin. Love love loveOverall, I'm surprisingly taken with this range, yes they are a little warm-brown toned for my complexion on the whole BUT what does one expect from a range that's inspired by chocolate! I'm still super impressed and there are keepers and more curiosity to try more in this range (Candyman is on my list due to the pinky-brown nude being more suited to my complexion)

On my fair warmer-side-of-neutral skintone the matte shade Candy Man is a light pinky/mauve nude and Dose Of Cocoa is a more peachy/beige nude. They are those types of classic nude shades that will look good all year round and will never go out of style. They both go with any of my preferred eye makeup looks, a big plus. I think that these are the kinds of shades that will look good on any skintone, as they will adapt themselves to each wearers colouring because of the mixed base. The formula is the perfect balance between being not-too-wet and not-too-dry, so it applies easily for a liquid lipstick, it dries quite quickly [within two minutes] and it has a lovely coca fragrance [it's a mild scent].It's the best of both worlds: you are getting the strong colour, matte finish and good staying power of a traditional lipstick [around 6/7 hours, depending on food and drink], minus the drying feeling you can get from a bullet lipstick. As a liquid you get a soft & moisturized feeling and pleasant scent/taste of a gloss, minus the sticky and slippy feeling.I've recently bought a £18 liquid lippie from Huda Beauty and this £9 mass-market one wears better on me - I last put one around 3pm to go to a BBQ and when I got back & looked in my mirror at around 11pm to remove my makeup, it was still there [that's after food and drink]. I have these two shades and fully intend to buy more shades in the Les Chocolats line, as the formula performs so well for me. I highly reccomend this line to people.

This is lovely, rich, velvety chocolate liquid lipstick. The chocolate scent is quite strong (but delicious) upon application but it fades fairly quickly so isn't noticeable at all once the product dries. Personally, I'm not a fan of fragrant lip products with scents that linger all day so was glad that it faded. The liquid lipstick is housed inside a frosted glass container and has a flexible doe foot applicator with a pointed tip. The pointed tip is perfect for accurately lining the lips and the centre of the doe foot has a little well on both sides so there is enough product to fully coat both lips without having to dip back in.It takes a few minutes for the lipstick to become fully dry butonce dry it is transfer-resistant and lasts well through the day.The reason for my high score is that unlike some liquid lipsticks, this felt very comfortable on the lips and not dry or crusty and nor did it wrinkle up and give a tight feeling. It still retained a soft matte look rather than a parched desert.Overall very happy with this yummy smelling liquid lipstick. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

I ordered this product with slight skepticism because in my experience, things are never quite what they are claimed to be, I've lost count of the 'foolproof' lipsticks that have rubbed off in no time and the 'smudgeproof' mascaras that have left me looking like a panda. BUT, and it's a big one.....drum roll please.....this lipstick really really honestly does stick like glue! Yes it is a bit gloopy to apply, you have to be very careful to get it in the right place first time, and to be honest I didn't really get a chocolate-y scent from it, but then that was never on my wish list. I applied it then talked, walked, drank and ate and still had to make an effort to remove it at the end of the day,but I don't mind that because it means that it is doing its job. I get it off with Micellar Water and a good old fashioned rub with a warm wet flannel, if that is too much like hard work for anyone then they seriously need to reconsider their life choices. :-)I ordered another straight away and may well buy several more of the colours just as soon as staying in stops being the new going out.

Another liquid lipstick and L’Oreal seem to have got it right this time. This chocolate based range is a little odd in that the Candyman colour we received is more a pink nude than anything chocolate related, but that’s fine as it really suited my wife’s skin tone and I can imagine this being one colour that will be suitable for many. The container looks high class and comes with a wand applicator that has a small brush at the end for applying the lipstick.Being a liquid it does need time to dry and only one pass is required to apply, unlike some that require several applications. The results are a silky looking pink and even though this is a matte lipstick it does look more silky, though not overly shiny. My wife left this on all day from morning to evening and there were no signs of wear, which is impressive. So we’re impressed with this Les Chocolates range staying power and look, another good product from L’Oreal.

Nothing compares to this liquid lipstick. Yes, I have fallen head over heels in love. In all my years of using lipsticks, I have never met a lipstick that ticked all the right boxes like this has done. The wand applicator makes it easy to apply and the lipstick glides on easily. In a few seconds, it dries and sets. When it dried, my lips did feel somewhat dry but it wasn’t uncomfortable in any way. If however this is an issue for you, you may want to consider applying a lip gloss over the lipstick. Back to the lipstick, colour 868 is absolutely gorgeous. This lipstick provides full coverage so there isn’t a need to apply layers. The best thing about it is, it is LONG LASTING.Had this all day and it looked as if I had just applied it. I could lick my lips without it rubbing off. Drank a hot drink and it left no stain on my mug. This indeed is revolutionary. Absolutely superb.

I liked this product for a variety of reasons. It was fairly easy to apply - you apply it like you would a lipgloss. It then takes a minute or two to dry completely into a matt lipstick. It went on very smoothly and neatly. The lipstick also has a chocolate scent to it when you first apply it which is a bonus! The colour was nice but I'm not sure that it fully suited my skin tone - I think it would look better on someone with darker skin. However, once the colour had sunk in a bit and became a bit more muted, I think it suited me better. I was really impressed with the durability of the lipstick. I went out for drinks and a thai curry and the lipstick was still noticable when I left!Overall,I think it is a really good product but would probably go for a slightly lighter/more subtle shade of pink next time.

I really like this Ultra Matte Liquid Lipstick from L'Oreal Paris. It is available in ten colours … and I received the colour # 842 'Candyman' for reviewing purposes. The lipstick is a velvet matte liquid lipstick in a lovely medium shade of pink. The lipstick is contained in a small rectangular shaped acrylic bottle with lid and integrated angle tipped sponge applicator. This is a melt proof formula which covers well and feels light on the lips, also I found that the lipstick had very good staying power remaining on my lips for a good six hours.I was able to remove the lipstick easily using a standard makeup remover and I was pleased to find that this product caused no soreness or dryness of my lips ...this I was a little worried about as this lipstick has a very matt finish.

A sponge applicator based lippy, in an unusual caramel-chocolate shade, not exactly a shade I associate with any chocolate that I have ever eaten. It's a matt lippy, and although liquid, it's fairly drying, but at the same time, it takes a while to dry. It's not very easy to get a clean line, as it's a really thick liquid, matt and tacky. I hovered between three and four stars. I decided on four, as tacky though it is, the matt look is so preferable to the shiny sheen trout pout look that seems to have been around forever. Your lips do at least look like body parts, and not plastic, with this.Although I've been putting on make up for some forty seven years, I still found this tricky.Don't get it if you aren't experienced with your beauty products.

This is an amazing liquid lipstick. Definitely one of the best that I’ve tried from both cheap or expensive brands. Everything about it is perfect for me and has made me want to buy all of the colours. The range seems to be really good. They have a few nudes that would suit different skin tones and also have some reds and bolder colours, like a deep purple. The texture is really nice. They do not feel really dry like some other liquid lipsticks do. They stay looking smooth for a long time and do not get flaky. They have a long wear time and stand up to having a drink throughout the day. They fade nicely and do not get patchy. The smell is probably the best part. They smell like real chocolate fudge cake.It is absolutely divine. They are excellent!

I absolutely love these lipsticks!!! Everything from their sleek design, easy to apply application brushes, colour collection and best of all... The smell!! - Seriously, they smell incredible! The lipstick themselves come in such a great collection of chocolatey colours - from nudes, right up to deep deep browns.I really doubt you wouldn’t find the perfect shade, I’m after the complete collection.I find they apply like a dream (I always apply two Coats), no sticky/tacky feeling, just make sure your lips are completely dry before applying a further coat if needed. I find it stays put all day, no touching up needed. For me it doesn’t dry or flake either, which I have found with other liquid lipsticks. If I could rate this 10 stars I would!

A lovely and very wearable matte brown colour that suits most skin tones. This has a fashionable matte finish which is much better than sticky gloss in my opinion, both in look and feel. There is a slanted wand in the lid which makes application easy and quick, this has a narrow tip which is ideal for using on the Cupid’s bow.For wearability I found this good, it was long lasting and even managed the drink test, but did lose some coverage in the centre of my lips when I ate.The lipstick has a wonderful chocolate scent ( always important for something you use under your nose to smell good!) which lasted around 10 mins, it did not taste of chocolate though, but this is probably a good thing as I would have no doubt licked it off if it did.

Wow! This is a liquid lipstick that does what it describes-applies as a liquid and stays on! I had to remove it with make-up remover. It feels quite sticky on the lips while it’s drying but once dry it stays where it is, even after eating and drinking. None came off on the cup. The stickiness is quite irritating though and it will take me a bit of time to get past this. The application wand is slightly angled so it’s a little odd but it works well enough.I thought the colour would be brown-ish from the name, but it appears the name is a bit of a gimmick. Cacao Crush is actually a nice deep plum colour, as per the picture. It’s a very 90’s colour but it also really suits my dark hair/olive skin.

At first, I thought this was something of a novelty. It is a lipstick which actually smells of chocolate - although the scent does not linger too long. It has a slanted applicator, which I found easy to use and to apply the lipstick evenly. This was a great, very matte colour - quite neutral and rather like a nude, beige colour. Although I didn't think this would be flattering, it actually looked very nice and is perfect for daytime wear.Where this does fall down, just a little, is that it feels a little heavy to me. I imagine that I would use this more in the Autumn and Winter - where the darker shade and comfort of the chocolate fragrance may help with the cold mornings!

Apparently this one (cacao crush) is one of a range of different shades, each of which has a distinct (and pleasant) chocolate scent. Some of the others look more neutral, this is a very rich dark shade and won't suit every skin tone. It's similar to Black Cherries which was very popular in the 90s! If you can remember that you may or may not be the ideal customer for a shade as dramatic as this. It smells nice though, goes on smoothly and doesn't smudge or transfer. It goes on like a liquid but dries very matt, so even if this is not your ideal shade it might tempt you to try some of the others in the series. It's a nice quality product.
