Le Toy Van are a company that specialise in wooden toys. They also replant trees for the wood they use.We got the “Market Meat Crate” and play with it in the attached video (also on YouTube in better quality). Here is what I have to say about it on the “constructive feedback” side:* Going from the images on the Amazon product listing it is smaller than I was expecting, certainly not the size of a normal wooden crate.* The other play crates on this product listing are different prices so you may want to choose the best one for you based partly on price.* I am reviewing only one of these crates (which I’m giving 4 stars) and not the others which may have got a different star rating. In addition as a collection, if you had more than one crate and maybe some of the other accompanying sets like the market stall, I think this would go up to a 5-star rating.* It might have been good if you could buy crates in multipacks, so you could get more of a bargain or more of the set in one go.* The meat crate doesn’t work in combination with the others as well as it could because in real life meat would need to be in a fridge or freezer, and here it is in a wooden crate on a market stall (this would be applicable to the fish crate too, and perhaps the dairy products crate). On the positive side:* Looks great. The favourite meat for my kids is the string of sausages. And all the meats are clearly identifiable for what they are meant to be.* The fake newspaper as lining is a nice touch.* Unlike real crates this is smoother and isn’t as splintery (so safer).* The paint is non-toxic so any young ones like babies putting bits of this in their mouth would be safe (don’t see them chocking on it as pieces look to be too big).* You can have some good role-play with these (just like in our video).Overall, 4-stars.

These market crates are absolutely ridiculously adorable. They are amazing quality, and make you want to collect them all! I was actually meant to receive the baker's one but got the meat one, but considering I got this product for free to review, this doesn't bother me - however if I'd have bought it I would have asked the seller to exchange it.Pros:- Design is so simple and cute - the little bits of meat are so well painted with non-toxic, good quality paint. There are no marks at all on the toy- Really smooth and soft edges so no worries with my young nephews playing with them- The little basket is easy to carry- Little info insert about the market stall included - would love to get theothers and invest in this!- My 4 year old nephew and even my 6 year old niece loves playing imaginary shop games with it!Cons:- Received the wrong one - but again, not a big issue for me personally- Quite expensive if you want to get the market stall and the other cratesOverall I'd recommend this as a toy for encouraging creativity and shop games. My nieces and nephews just love playing "shop" and fake food is always a hit in my house - mixed with other toys we have these complete some wonderful games for them! I'd love to get the whole set but I'm not sure I could financially justify it, but if you have kids and want high quality toys and have the space the kids would 100% love it. Either way, as a standalone crate toy, this is a lovely little toy and due to the quality and eco friendly aspects of it I wouldn't hesitate to give it top marks.

These little crates that go with the Honeybake market stall are absolutely gorgeous - so well thought-out and carefully made. It's a pity they are so expensive but it would cost in excess of double to the price of the actual market stall to fill all the shelves! Anyway, I have contented myself with supplying the recipient with two extra crates - to make three - one being already supplied with the stall itself. They are sturdy and beautifully made from wood and felt - the wood being the actual body of the item and the felt being the leaves or stalks. This particular crate has vegetables in (carrots, beans, mushrooms and radish)and is a very useful covert way to teach a child about food and where it comes from as some children nowadays have no idea where their food comes from or what it looks like 'in-the-raw'. For a lot of children chips and tinned baked beans are the only vegetable they ever see so this is a good way to teach them, not only about food but about arithmetic as well when they 'sell' their produce on their market stall! There's a whole load of stuff available in this Honeybake range so you can add to the experience by buying more crates for the market stall and also a cash-till and fake money to complete the set, along with weighing scales, a card machine and much, much more - as much as you want to buy - you could go on forever! And, don't forget, you aren't adding to the plastic mountain when the child tires or outgrows this toy because it's all made from wood so it's eco-friendly as well. Have fun and save the planet!

This range of wooden fruit toys are light with no sharp edges. There are five pieces of fruit ; 1 strawberry; 1 peach; 1 slice of watermelon; 2 bananas. The leaves and stems of the strawberry and peach are made from felt but I'm not sure how long these will stay in place as they appear to be glued into holes so I don't know how long a stem they have or how long they will remain secured in place. (My 5 year old has already tried pulling them out!).The box is really well made with reinforced corners and the 'Le Toy Van' logo printed in red on one side of the box. The box measures 6 1/2" x 4 3/4" and 2 1/4" high(16cmx12cm and 6cm high). There is a piece of paper inside the box to represent newspaper. The toys are washable and withstand wiping with baby wipes without colour leaching. The only complaint that I have is the size of the print on the presentation sleeve, you need a magnifying glass to read it. There are larger logos that tall you the toy is not suitable for children under 3. They are designed in Great Britain and ethically made in Indonesia using replenishable wood. These are educational and fun toys, the price could be a bit lower but wooden toys tend to last forever so worth it in the long run and they are much better than plastic. There are several sets available in the range and also a cart to display them on. My grandchildren love playing café with them and do play with them on a regular basis so they aren't pushed into a corner and forgotten about which makes a nice change.

Le Toy Van Honeybake Wooden Five a Day FruitsWe don't have the Honeybee Market play set yet, but when I saw these I thought they would be ideal for our little girl. She has a play kitchen, picnic, and dinner table set, which are amongst her favourite toys. So this fruit will fit in nicely with that. These are much bigger than I had imagined by looking at the listing, the fruit crate measures 16 x 12 x 6 cm. The crate is made from real bare wood with a hardboard base. The fruit is also solid wood, so these should literally last for years. This is realistically painted in bright colours, so the fruit does look quite real to a child. In this set you are provided with a wooden crate, two bananas,2 strawberries, one peach, and one slice of melon. This is a well made set which I'm sure many children will enjoy. Our little girl loves it, she now has the fruit all laid out on her picnic set, alongside her play plates cups and cutlery - Recommended!Contents -1 x Wooden fruit crate1 x Peach1 x Melon2 x Bananas2 x Strawberries1 x PaperIf you have found my review at all helpful I would very much appreciate if you could click the 'Helpful' button below, thank you.

Fantastic little role play, meat market crate set.Packaged and presented perfectly, looking like you've just got a package from the market. You can see all of your crate contents through a little window.Brilliant little wooden crate, roughly 16cm x 12cm and 6cm deep. This cute little crate has a little piece of newspaper at the bottom. This is an adorable, minor piece! There are 6 pieces of, well made, durable blocks of meat, all made from wood! There is (I think) a decent slice of chorizo. A chicken leg. 5 sausages on a string. A pork chop. 2 slices of bacon. All of the pieces of meat are coloured well. Imitating the real things brilliantly. These are absolutely perfect for role play, getting your childs imaginative side going. They get to act out real life scenarios and learn good communication skills too.I would recommend these. They have other sets to match too. All well made. The crate is amazing, really sells the product. I love the newspaper at the bottom. The pieces of meat look brilliant. Fantastic for hours of role play fun.

This crate of fresh fish is one item from Le Toy Van's Honeybake range of food-themed items that are suitable for both boys and girls from the age of three years and over. This wooden crate contains a selection of six glittery fresh fish and is scaled for use with Le Toy Van's Honeybee market play set. Clicking the blue Le Toy Van link at the top of the product page takes you to Le Toy Van's Amazon store to see other items in this range plus many of their other products as well. Le Toy Van is an ethical British toy company that has been around for about twenty-five years, founded by Georges Le Van in Surrey, and their toys are designed and developed in the UK to meet current safety standards – this wooden play-set is manufactured in Indonesia using responsibly sourced materials. Currently around sixteen pounds from Amazon the Honeybake Fresh Fish crate offers quite a lot of fun for the price and should stand up to some rough market trading. A proper old-school wooden toy that gets five stars for design and finish at the current price.

This crate of play veg measures 6 x 5" approx. It's smaller than I was expecting. This is not necessarily a criticism because it's not good to have anything to bulky to have to store. But I was expecting larger crate from the picture. This set is suitable for 3+. I suppose the idea is that you buy several of these little crates, so it could get a little pricey. The crate and vegetables are both made of wood and are lovely quality. There is something lovely about the feel of wooden toys. There is faux newspaper beneath the vegetables which are beautifully turned and painted. They are finished in green felt. (I will point out that some of these vegetables could be employed as painful projectiles.)You have four green beans, two carrots, two mushrooms and a strawberry. The set is labelled as being made in Indonesia for a British company with a full postal address on the back. The wood is labelled as being ethically sourced from 'Indonesian legal wood.'My 3 1/2 year-old niece loves playing shops, so this went down very well with her.

I'm a huge fan of just about all toys from Le Toy Van's wooden offerings and absolutely love the Honeybee Market play set which this crate of fresh fish is designed to go with. If you have the market you'll know it only comes with one crate of apple and pears and you have to fill up the other five market slots with additional crates. This crate of assorted fish with two designs (spotted and striped) is a really great choice and I love it - the newspaper underneath the fish is a lovely touch and the fish themselves are really nicely designed and painted. The fish have a bit of a shimmer from a light dusting of glitter and some of this does transfer when you play with them but who doesn't minda bit of added sparkle? The fish and crate both have the quality you would expect from Le Toy Van and it's a lovely addition to your market/shopping/kitchen play which our little one absolutely loves, especially when we've just gotten back from shopping! A quality item which feels like it will last through lots of play.

This is a nice little set of wooden play food, though not a personal favourite within the range of Le Toy Van play food crates. The little wooden crate – which is a light, natural varnished wood - is paper lined, as market crates often are, and has little carry handles at the ends. The crate contains 6 wooden fish, all of which are the same size and shape, simply painted in different shades of blues and greys, with different scale patterns. Added to the finish, to help create the iridescent finish of fish scales, is glitter – but the glitter doesn’t seem to be terribly well bonded to the wooden fish and comes off quite a bit.I was a bit surprised by the packaging this came in – which seemedless recyclable and environmentally friendly than several other items I’ve had/bought from the brand – where the packaging was almost exclusively card and paper. This came in a thin card sleeve, with a shrink wrapped plastic covering and no wrapping/paper padding around the fish.

I received for review the breads and patisserie crate. This is an excellent quality wooden toy set, which is safe for even little children to play with. There are several different sets to choose from, so you can build an imaginary market place for your child to play with. The breads and patisserie crate contains a small bloomer loaf, a croissant, an iced bun, a pretzel knot and a palmier, all packed in a Honeybee market wooden crate, with a Honeybee market newspaper lining. The toys are crafted to be smooth, so no worries about getting splinters and are painted to resemble breads and cakes. They are solid wood, so should be very durable and last a long time.I do think the price is a bit high, especially when there are only 5 items in the crate and if you buy all of the sets, the price will mount up, but they are great quality, so they are good value for money considering the crafting, but if they were priced around £10, it would be better.

Le Toy Van Honeybake Wooden Bakers Basket Market Crate. My grandaughter love this , I bring it out for them to play with when they visit,i have quite a toy selection at my home now for when they visit! They play shopping at the market with this, one of them is the market owner while the other is the shopper, i find it quite comical to watch them in this role play, i do have other le toy van shop accessories which they are playing with at the same time. This brand is brilliant for kids, thetes no sharp edges .They are made of sustainable rubber wood that a beautifully painted, the toy food comes in a sturdy crate which is good to store them in and keeps them all together when finished playingwith. These are suitable for both boys and girls and from the age of 3 and upCan reccomend this and I do think tho that it's a tad overpriced at £18.88 , around £10 would be better!

The 5 a day fruits kit is really quite well thought out. It doesn’t have quite as much play value as the wooden fruits you can chop up but they are highly detailed and resemble the fruits they represent (although there are some small bananas and some quite big strawberries). The crate they come in is really quite sturdy but with all the fruit it in, is already quite full. It comes with quite a variety – 2 bananas, 2 strawberries, a small peach (?) which looks a lot more like an apricot, and a big slice of watermelon. My favourite part was probably the fact the crate was lined with the market newspaper – there’s even a recipe on it.They are painted and ours have been thrown quite a bit onto the wooden floor so I do already see some scratches in the paint but it still seem a very durable set which could be passed on and get plenty of use out of.

This is such a beautifully crafted set and the perfect addition to my daughter’s toy kitchen. The attention to detail is really impressive with felt detailing and graduated colours making the vegetables appear more realistic. We have similar food crates from Melissa and Doug and the quality of this is so much higher, but there is quite a price difference too, with this being fairly expensive for what you get: 2 carrots, 4 green beans, 2 mushrooms and a radish. My only niggle is that you don’t really need 4 green beans, it would be better if 2 were swapped out for something else, like tomatoes for instance. What’s really cute is that my 2 year old treats this set like she would the ‘good China’ compared to her other toy foods; they’re only given to her favourite teddies! The crate comes nicely packaged and would make a lovely gift too.

Wooden toys are a big hit in this house with my children and myself - they are a little more expensive then plastic toys but they last longer and you seem to get more enjoyment out of them. This set is part of the Le Toy Van brand and fits in best with the market stall but you can also have so much fun with it just on its own as well.It very well made of wood, fabric and paints (non toxic) it’s a 7 piece set which includes the following ... market crate, 2 bananas 2 strawberries watermelon slice and one other piece of fruit which I’m not 100% on what it is actually. It’s a beautiful set and the size is prefect for little hands,it is from 3 plus but my youngest son is 1 and he loves playing with this along side my other children.Would definitely be looking into this brand of wooden toys from now on.
