Bought this for my 18 month old Daughter, she absolutely LOVES it!!I really don't understand the poor reviews some have left, I mean this item cost £5! my Daughters weekly Peppa Pig magazine costs the same and within a few days its in the recycle bin!She loves carrying the basket (fruit & veg in or not) and I find this a great toy for her to learn with. From naming the different types of fruit & veg to the colours of each piece. I had a laugh at first as she would attempt to eat them all! (how great are toddlers!).As for the poorer reviews, yes the handle comes off on one side often, I simply clip it back in place, it doesn't detract from my daughters pleasure of this item whatsoever. The fruit & veg colours are pretty realistic of the real thing, some could be more vivid in colour, the strawberry being the worst in my opinion but again it doesn't detract from the toy at all, and finally yes some of the items are quite pliable whilst others are very hard! So??!!For £5 you really, really can't go wrong. It will provide your child with many hours of fun, that they will come back to time & time again.I have included 2 pictures, one to give an idea of the size (some poor reviews relating to this) next to a sky remote (as most people have these!) and one of the fruits & veg to portray their actual colour. My advice?? BUY IT!!I hope you find my review helpful.Thanks.

Really impressed with this set! Especially for only £5! It’s better than I had expected.Probably one of my daughter’s favourite gifts on her 2nd birthday. It has loads of different fruits and vegetables, an ideal size for toddler hands, light weight but durable, each item is crafted well enough that my daughter has easily been able to decipher what they all are, she’s played with it non stop all week and it’s survived all the enthusiastic toddler manhandling no problem, the basket it all comes in is more sturdy than I expected for the price and is a great addition to the set.Overall I’m really happy with it and my daughter definitely is too!Highly recommend this.I would love another similar set with meat, bread, cheese etc etc to extend the play further...any recommendations welcomed...(Pen and background objects in last pic for size context).

This is a great, and cheap, addition to my wee girls toy box. It's helping her with her recognition and learning of words. Plus, she loves taking the basket to the shop with her - so cute! She's only 18 months so is a bit heavy handed. Some of the basket items are not wearing well (mainly tomato and strawberry) due to her biting and squashing them but most of them are quite sturdy. The handles pop off the basket quite easily but are quick enough to pop back on so it's not an issue.I would recommend this to others with children of a similar age or slightly older.

For the price it's pretty good. Loads of fruit and veggies and nice little basket. Fruits aren't the most sophisticated moulding but it's only a fiver, you can't get much for that these days. My 16 month old gets as much pleasure from pulling the handles off the basket as anything else. Of course as a mother of a toddler I sit around twiddling my thumbs and trying to think up things to keep me occupied, and I've already filled in a lot of time retrieving these fruits from under the sofa, fridge, back of the tv, under the dining table.....

Amazing product! This has given our 2 year old hours of fun as he learns about the different names of the fruit and vegetables and their colours. It is small enough and light enough for him to carry on his own.The fruit and vegetables are withstanding the odd chew and being thrown about. They are not quite as tough as some other ELC toy fruit we have but I have no complaints as to the durability or suitability. The handles can easily be pulled off but they are equally easily clicked back in.Would definitely recommend

My nearly 2 year old grandson loved this little basket of mixed fruit on sight and named them all soon after, okay it wasn't his fault the lime had the same shape as the lemon! Asparagus, grapes - he recognised them and played with them feeding his menagerie of soft toys and anybody around! A lovely presentation - I loved it on sight too! I do remember getting a Casdon cash register from Santa around the 1950s, which was beautifully made and recognised the brand! A really nice little pressie!

This toy is loads of fun and really for the price we cant complain at all. My little girl loves putting the vegetables into her wooden kitchen oven. The only downfall is that the plastic is fairly thin, and some of the vegetables are quite small, meaning we had to take some out as shes prone to putting EVERYTHING in her mouth. With the bigger ones, once she has secretly managed to chew them a couple of times the plastic join has split on a couple, but im not sure how this could be helped.

I'm not a huge fan of plastic but I decided to get this for our 18mth old to help learn about fruit & veg and for pretend play. We've actually got quite a bit of play out of it. She loves tipping all the contents out then we pick each one up and name them seeing if she can remember the names. It's quite a small basket which is perfect for little toddlers. I only gave it 4 stars as there were duplicates of some things which I felt was a missed opportunity for more different fruit or veg.

Product arrived quickly and was well packed. I gave it to my 15 month old granddaughter and she seems very happy with it. She fills her basket then puts the fruit down the tunnel of another toy and finds great fun doing this. The fruit and veg are a good size for her hands and the basket is also a good size. The basket handle comer off very easily but that doesn't seem to be too much of a problem. I think it will help with her colours and her fruit and vegetable recognition.

after reading other reviews i were unsure whether or not to get this but thought for the price you cant go wrong. it arrived this morning and im very impressed with the quality compared to what i was expecting. the fruit and veg are a lot harder plastic than i expected and they are perfect size for my 2 year old to play and learn with. overall im very happy and glad i ignored other reviews - you really cant complain for the price!

My daughter really loves this and it is played with mostly every day. She prefers to do some pretend cooking rather than shopping with these but that is only because she doesn't understand what shopping is all about just yet. We removed the strawberry from this as this does fit in the mouth and she is not shy about popping these in there but the rest are big enough to feel that your child is safe playing with these.

Great fun for our 2yr olds when play cooking / eating / shopping. Only issue we have found is that after just a weeks use the handles detach now with regular monotony. While they are easy to push back into place, the more they come out and need replacing, the more wear occurs, the easier they come out, the more they need replacing .. etc etc .. but still, for the price it's a good bit of fun.

Bought for my 2 year old grandson. We have great fun playing shops, loading the fruit and veg into a bag to take home, then putting it all back in the basket again. We have a till with money and he already grasps the context of shopping and paying for his items and has very quickly learned the names and colours of all the items, including which are sweet/sour/smelly etc. A great buy.

I bought this basket of food to help my 18 month old learn the names of different fruit and vegetables. They are not as realistic as some food that I have seen but he still recognises them and for the price I couldn't complain. He enjoys collecting all kinds of things up in the basket and has even taken it to the supermarket to help me with the real shopping. Good value for money.

The vegetables in this set are of really good quality. They are nice and sturdy.Giving 4 stars because the yellow handles keep coming off - so im forever putting them back on.The basket itself is very well made though! Not returning it because my 2yr old absolutely adores it.I bought a shopping trolley at same time and hes forever moving the veg about both!Fantastic price!
