I bought this product as a Christmas gift in 2012 for my back then 3 year old daughter. What made me write this review after such a long time is finding it in the old toys box in the shed :)My daughter being 10, has decided to test it with new batteries and surprisingly it still works. Now, to focus more about the product itself; I can't remember if it was being Prime delivered back then but I do remember it being nicely packed and thus visually stood out which made my daughter happy when opening it as a Christmas gift.Item has a few functions such as till opening, buttons & till making sounds (quite loud), using a credit card & money, small cardboard and plastic food included.Item is colourful, sturdy, robust (it was dropped and dragged around), plastic/cardboard food products have a good print on them. As mentioned before, some of the food products are made out of cardboard which is of a decent made but it can be easily damaged and ripped apart if a child sets his/hers mind to it.It requires batteries which are not supplied (at least they weren't supplied back then) but they will last you a long time.In 7 years the price hasn't change at all and I've noticed that it is being Prime delivered.Cheaper then in store, great quality and a good amount of added extras make this item a superb first till!

Our 3 year old son loves this and so from that point of view we can't argue, if he is happy, we are happy. The till is a nice item and great for playing shops though I'm glad I didn't pay more than I did. The till has an electronic till sound that rings when ever the till is opened but is so quiet you really have to listen for it. The chip and pin section was good though only lasted a few weeks and despite checking the batteries, no longer seems to work, I liked the idea that there were two credit cards though each with a different pin number. The till also has a small roll of paper in it that acts as a receipt though our son gave that a tug and pulled the whole reel out so that didn't last long. The empty boxes of food items are a nice touch and added to the fun of the item though the money isn't very realistic so we purchased some Sterling play money separately to go with it. The only reason it gets a 4 rating and not a 3 is because of the sheer play value. Despite its issues it is a great toy and a great learning aid into learning about money.

I bought this toy till for my son for his 3rd birthday. He absolutely loves it and a month on still plays with it regularly which is always a good sign as far as I'm concerned. It comes with miniature cans and packages for them to sell. The cardboard packages aren't lasting very well but the cans are great! It comes with two cards for the chip and pin machine and they have to put the right pin number in for the smiley face to light up, which is great for learning numbers. It has a proper calculator incorporated so it would also be useful for young ones who are just starting with their sums. The till is in itself very robust with no flimsy parts.I would definitely recommend this as a reasonable purchase in comparison to some of the very expensive toy tills out there.

Excellent chip n pin till! The cards have there own pins and if you put in the wrong one you cant pay for you shopping! It comes with 2 cards with stickers to stick on the cards, the stickers make it look real! There is a receipt that comes with it that you twist something and it comes out. When you click the cash register open button it makes real noises, same when you press numbers. you have a pink sign with it that you twist round and hang on the top, the 2 signs say remove card and enter pin.The money is 10 pounds or 5 pounds and some coins. It comes with 7 pieces of food 3 tins 4 boxes. The microphone is NOT a working one but you don't really need that. The calculator works.P.S: Keep some batteries in hand.

My Daughter already has an older model but she wanted the chip n pin version as she sees us use it when we go out. Very disappointed that the microphone does not work on this one (as she likes to shout when the store is closing or that a BMW is parked across the delivery entrance). It comes with two credit cards, each one has a different pin number (don't lose the numbers) and you get a red light flash if you input the incorrect pin. It also comes with four little cardboard 'pretend'food packages and a couple of plastic ones. The money is pretty poor so best to buy the fake cash seperate. Not bad for the money and ideal for children over 3.With older children you can explain the calculator function.

Robust and imaginatively designed replica till with a functioning cash register (in the form of a calculator) and accompanying till drawer sound effects. The "chip n pin" card reader comes with two 'credit cards' that each have their own individual PIN numbers and also has audible sounds to notify whether the card has been accepted or rejected. There's also a selection of replica food products, play money and stickers for the till. My daughter thoroughly enjoys playing with this and would highly recommend you consider getting one too. You'll need 3xAA batteries for the till plus 2xAA batteries for the card reader.

I bought this till for my son and he really likes playing with it. I bought some extra coins (early learning centre coin set) to go with it, and some extra play food. The buttons make a fun sound when pressed, and the chip and pin device lights up. The only downside is that the chip and pin device doesn't seem to work as it should - you get a pin number with each card but the lights still light up red, not green as they should when you enter the correct pin! However, this may be a fault with ours only! My sons enjoys playing with it and it is handy for teaching him about the different coins and counting.

Nephew loves this item, enjoys playing shop –The till has an electronic ring sound – it’s a little soft so hard to hear and the till draw gets a little stuck. The chip and pin for the credit card did not work which was a really shame –The roll of paper did not come out that easy, or was very easy to just pull out.The food items are made of soft / light cardboard and not very durable. His parent ended up using the really empty boxes instead and sweet to make it more fun and really like.Batteries not supplied – you will need about 5xAA

I love tills! I always have, ever since santa bought one for me when I was 4 years old. Now I have my own child and she is old enough to play with tills. This till looks good and it is fun. I got some extra coins and notes with mine (bought seperatley) but you really don't need any more than is already supplied. You need batteries in the till and batteries in the card holder. I have never gotten around to putting batteries in both.I have plastic coins all over my house but my daughter and I love to play shops. I good till and a fab toy

My little girl loves this cash register and going shopping. As yet she is a little young to use the chip n pin accurately (I need to put the pin code in...) but this hardly bothers her. More annoying for me typing them in repeatedly! The money provided with the till is very fake and american, I simply replaced with English, more realistic alternative. My only real criticism, and it's not major... is the drawer pops out with such force the money flies out. Which as any mum knows means you are constantly picking up coins from everywhere!

My 3 yr old daughter received this till for her birthday and we have played with it everyday since!! She loves it!! I thought it was a bit small when it arrived but actually its a perfect size. The calculator works for older children to learn maths and the chip and machine also needs the correct pin number - slightly tricky for my daughter at the moment but again great for her to practise numbers. Each time you press the buttons the machine beeps which makes my daughter feel like a proper cashier. I would highly recommend this toy.

This was a successful Christmas gift to a 3 yr old with the chip and pin device entertaining the adults almost as much as the children. The sound effects are not too intrusive but given other gifts included a trumpet and a drum there was strong competition. This is a toy which can be enhanced easily by adding other pretend food products and perhaps a shopping trolley. This toy seems reasonably sturdy for the price and all in all a good role playing toy which will hopefully provide entertainment for some time to come.

I bought this product because it was not too expensive and I anticipated my 2 year old grandson would find it fascinating to play with.I was right he loved it. He enjoyed pressing the till and the part for credit card. I role played with him - He was the shop keeper on 2 occasions. I called him Mister the first time and the second time Mr Peas. After the first role play he would ask, with excitement, "Can we play Mr?". Then after the second one, "Can we play Mr Peas?"

Bought as a Christmas gift for my 5 year old. She has enjoyed playing with it so far and particularly likes the paper receipt function and the chip n pin machine. My only criticism is that the 'cards' take a lot of pushing into the chip n pin machine to get them to register. Decent enough for the price and great at encouraging role play and learning about money/coins. I bought some extra play money to go with it which was much better than the money included with it.

I got this because my 4 year old was playing shops with me. He loves this a lot. As the keypad is a calculator it really helps him with his maths. The credit card machine is great and he knows the pin numbers of by heart. Like other purchasers I have gone out and brought some toy money that looks like real money. This is giving him a sense of real money and when I let him pay in a real shop he can now count how much change he gets. A great teaching tool.
