In all that time, we'd never previously experienced the sheer joy that a butter dish can bring. It seemed that there were always other ways to spend money; mortgages, school uniforms, wellington boots. The list never ended. Butter dishes were never something we could afford to indulge in.As a result we made do with margarine and abominations advertised as "spreadable". When I opened the box I was impressed by the weight and quality of this butter dish, there were no dents or marks on it as others have reported on theirs, the finish was excellent, a 250g block of butter fits perfectly in it, it keeps my butter at the perfect temperature for spreading no matter what the ambient temperatures are in the kitchen, I have used it continuously since I bought it, no rust spots or any other marks have appeared on it yet, looking at it I don't expect any either, being as it is so substantially made and finished, it should give me many years of service, there are nooks or cranny's on it so it is easy to clean out after use.Rather more expensive than I thought it would be for a butter dish,

I have been humming and ahh-ing over purchasing one of these for ages.I am so glad I have finally bit the bullet and bought one (I found the best price here, on Amazon). We are trying to bring back more old fashioned more natural foods that are less refined and processed. The need to remove butter hours before breakfast (or microwave it) was painful to say the least. Since we bought this we have been able to get rid of margarine. Have had only over the cool winter months, but with heating on pretty high the kitchen is not cool by any standards. The butter is kept at a nice spreadable temperature, though it is firmer on colder days.

Smart looking and effective, has allowed us to use proper butter rather than spreads. You do just need to remember to get it out of the fridge in good time if you want to keep the butter covered until ready for use but once it has warmed up a bit it can stay out for 5 or 6 hours without the butter getting runny. When it's time to clean it we just wipe off all excess butter remains with a piece of kitchen roll and pop it in the dishwasher from which it emerges with its satin steel finish looking good.

I am very pleased with this butter dish -- it was as it was described. I have used it for about a month now and I am still very happy with the product. It is difficult for me to know whether the double wall works as I live in Spain and have not gone through the summer yet, and as we do not have central heating the kitchen is cool so the butter stays rather cool inside the dish. It is easy to clean and looks very neat on my counter. I recommend it for its simplicity and practicality and good looks.

This is excellent. Maybe it's not normal to wax pyrical about a butter dish, but it really is lovely. A classical design, it looks the part. It's solidly built, too.The best bit? It's twin walled to help maintain a more consistent temperature. The only small niggle (not enough to knock off that 5th star) is that there was a tiny spot of corrosion after it'd been left on the draining board following a wash. It rubbed out without a problem, but best to dry it thoroughly straight after washing.

Far better than expected and has a quality appearance and feel. There was a mark on the bottom tray but a quick wash removed it. Most importantly it keeps butter at a spreadable temperature, as it should do. The stainless steel makes it easy to keep clean. I like this product and think it's a good design and practical, the brushed top finish looks good and is a real winner. The weight of the top has also kept my cats nose out of the butter, as it cannot flip it over like a plastic one!

Doing the job of avoiding refrigeration so far, let's see how it is in high summer. This has quite a heft to it - you would not want to drop the lid on your toes during a bleary-eyed early morning toast bashing session. Disappointingly, it came out of the box with a noticeable abrasion mark on the lid. Not worth the bother of packing it all back and sending for a replacement, but it would be nice if someone in the supply chain did a quality control check.

Have had one for years and bought more for family. Works brilliantly although this summer I did put it in the fridge for a couple of days... but even in the heat the butter stayed useable.I’ve noted some peoples’ comments about slight flaws in the stainless steel. I’ve got a few little marks on the inside of the dish but they’ve never bothered me, have never got worse, and don’t affect the keeping quality. I never put mine in the dishwasher, either.

This dish keeps the butter spreadable at all times and has cut down the amount of butter we use as e butter is easier to spread thinly. Already we are seeing our butter useage reduced by half, we did not expect or think about this so although the dish inexpensive we will quickly begin to save money which is a bonus we had no expected. Purchased it so we could avoid butter spreads! Good for our health and good for our pockets!

Not too big, perfect size. Really looks good on the table and standard butter fits nicely in it so not too much mess. These styles are much easier than the bin type one's in my opinion as there is less mess. The round knob handle is shiny though so - you can see in the photograph. Doesnt bother us and it looks great. The temperature is fantastic as you can leave butter out all day in summer - an essential feature in my eyes.

With this purchase, I ascended to the population of butter tray owners, and I haven't looked back. This is a great product! My brother and I both independently researched butter trays and both bought this same one without the other knowing!Insulated, keeps the butter fresh, the tray isn't too deep, it's very easy to clean, it feels very sturdy, and has some weight (which I like!). It doesn't look half bad, either.

An excellent item for the kitchen, designed specifically for UK 250g butter packs, It is solid and chunky stainless steel. The cover section is brushed satin finish and the knob on top and the base are polished finish.The double walled construction affords some good insulation and holds the temperature fairly well even in a hot kitchen.I liked it so much, I have now purchased two as my daughter also wanted one.

Great little butter dish which seems to manage to keep my butter soft enough so spread without melting. In the recent heatwave (temperatutres inside my house of 25+, June 2017) I did put it in the fridge to make sure that the butter did not flow! Good quality - only slight negative is that I would like a 'lip' on the base that prevents the lid going into the soft butter on the dish as you replace it. Very happy.

I had this given to me as a gift a year ago and the bottom part sounded like water was swishing inside it and there were marks on it too which shouldn’t have happened on stainless steel.I contacted Kitchencraft late yesterday evening and they replied asking for photos which I sent them and they have sent me a new one which should be here within a week!Such excellent customer service! ?
