This is a really nice cake stand, but I do have a couple of little issues. These may not affect everyone and are not major, but will effect the odd person which is why I have chosen to base my review on them. The first Issue is in the retailers description, no where does it state the hight of the dome so here goes:at the lowest point the outer edge of the dome it measures approximately 9 cm high. and at the highest point (not measuring the spherical handle) it measures approx 12cm high toward the middle of the dome.It is very difficult to measure the dome to be exact because of its shape so my measurements are an approximation.for those who have bought it for the Nordicware Bundt cakesThe Heritage Bundt = perfect fitThe Sunflower Bundt = may just fit with a bit of a squeeze on the width but the height is fine even with the overspilThe Cathedral Bundt = just fits in height (if the overspill is cut down to the rim of the pan then cake is turned out)The Holiday Bundt = slightly too tall for this dome, (You could account for this by leaving out some of the batter)The Giant Cup Cake = No Chance! The Original = Perfect fit using 10-12 cup recipe 15 cup recipe doesn't fit snugly (too tall)The Fleur de Lis = Perfect fitThe Quilted heart pan = this cake pan is very shallow but extremely wide and does not fit on the base of this stand let alone the dome fitting around it.The Elegant heart = too big for the baseThe Kugalhopf = fits the base lovely but far too high for the dome. The Angel food cake/ Coffee cake pan = fits the base but too high, however with this pan you could leave out some of the batter and it will fit fine. say do an 8cup instead of a 10cup recipe or make cup cakes with the rest. Can't comment on the rest as I only have these pansas for the cake base, all of the above fit on it perfectly. The blue painted writing does look a little tacky... but it isn't really noticeable when the cakes are on the stand!Standard layer cakes:Depending on the depth of the layers and fillings you would be pushed to get a standard 3 layer (8" /20cm tin @ 2" depth) 3 cakes baked in 3 tins/ a tin as a layer under the dome, but the average 2 layer including filling and toppings is no problem.**When reviewing this stand I hadn't any comparison apart from when I had seen stands on the high st. I stand by my review it is still a very nice stand. I have had this stand for over 2 years now. Although the lid in comparison to my anchor hocking 4in1(for those who want a more pyrex like stand and dome the anchor would probably be better suited) the kitchen craft dome is very thin. but saying that after 2 years it has not a mark or crack on it. I am still very happy with my purchase.

I put a lot of time into sourcing this cake stand. I was given a cheap one from Ikea as a gift and initially, I wasn't sure how much I would use it. On the contrary, I used it for all sorts and eventually decided I wanted something a bit more classy. This is a beautiful shape and much more refined than its predecessor. It is weighted evenly, the decoration is subtle and the plate is level upon the stand! (Beware - some of the cheaper ones aren't!) Another advantage with this one is that because it's elevated, it doesn't take up as much space on a table or worktop as a flat plate would. One of the most important aspects to its design is that the plate doesn't have a rim on it that could get chipped by a knife or knocked by the dome. Its also competitively priced and in my opinion, better than some of the more expensive ones I've seen. Its a shame to keep your treats hidden a tin, when they can be displayed and kept fresh at the same time. In addition, they are very well packaged and all 3 that I have purchased (2 as gifts) have arrived in perfect condition. Finally, the dome does feel fragile and requires TLC when washing but anything more robust would be much heavier as well.

This is a great cake stand. I did not see the second review of this product written on amazon and I'm glad I didn't because it might have turned me off buying this product. My cake stand arrived perfectly packaged and once I assembled the stand on it, it looked really great. A fantasic product and a really great price too compared to what they cost on the high street. I really must say thank you to Amazon, I ordered this product on Monday 21st of December. I left it too late to have it delivered before Christmas. But amazingly on Christmas Eve it arrived to me in the Republic of Ireland and it wasn't even delivered by Swiftpost. I was absolutely delighted and thank you so much Amazon.

I bought this as a gift for my sister. It appears of good quality and lovely shape. very classic kitchen style. She was delighted with it and promptly made a sponge the same day just to test it out. was concerned about the packaging because of the glass dome, but was well packaged with lots of polystyrene and card, so arrived intact. The only complaint, there was a couple of what looked like popped air bubbles in the centre of the stand, only tiny and not worth sending back though. In fact once the cake is on it you don't see it. All in all a lovely item and a very fair price.

I've long admired my mums one of these, but I've never really had the space before.Arrived next day (using prime), well packaged and excellent service from DPD - even sent me a text with an hour bracket this morning and it arrived about 5 mins into it! There was options to lave with neighbour or redeliver Mon or Tues if easier (it's Sat)The base is study and pretty, dishwasher safe too.The glass isn't thick thick but it's certainly not too thin to do the job.Thrilled with my purchase, now where's the self raising flour...!

I love baking so I need to have a good cake stand with dome. Until I bought this one, two years, I went through few with a life span of months as the domes ended up broken. I bought this cake stand two years ago and it still looks new, despite the heavy use. The ceramic stand has that lovely traditional English tea style and the dome, which I think it’s made of plexiglass, has enough room for tiered creamy cakes and it is super resistant. I kept the original box so when I don’t use the cake stand, I keep it in the box. I love it!

Had a Nigella Lawson dome which had very thin glass and needed careful handling (as you can guess, I'm buying a new dome as the NL one didn't survive the kids). This one has strong, thick glass and has already tolerated my boisterous kids slamming it on the worktop to get to the flapjacks. I have a modern kitchen and was dubious that would fit with the design, but it looks great empty or filled with cakes / biscuits. Holds a home-made 3-layer Victoria sponge easily.

Perfect for anyone who loves to bake, makes even my baking look appetising and sits well in kitchen or dining room. The glass dome is large enough to cover most cakes and helps keep them fresh for days although no baking lasts for long in our house. Probably helps to display them to their best though. Exceeded my expections in looks and price and has been a welcome purchase. I've been delighted since it arrived and much admired by friends and family alike.

This cake stand looks great situated on my work top, and looks even better with a cake sat inside the glass dome. Other reviewers have mentioned that the glass is flimsy and I agree that it looks delicate. Everyone in our house has been warned to be careful with it, although I'm usually the clumsiest and have already knocked a chopping board against it. So far it's fine. I'm trying to prolong its life by dealing with it very carefully.

It's a lovely item to have in the kitchen. The only slight niggles for me are that the glass dome feels very thin and fragile, and that the wording on the stand surface is more visible than it looks in the picture (EDIT - it says 'cakes treats and all things sweet').These are very minor things though, but worth a mention, I feel; it's not possible to see this in the product picture.Nevertheless, a great product!

I just love this cake stand! Arrived quickly and well packaged. Was not sure about the printing on the stand but I use paper doilly anyway so it is hidden. Looks really pretty when no cake inside too!I leave the stand on show in kitchen rather than putting it away. Makes me want to keep baking!Lid is fragile so wash with care away from taps!Overall a great buy! Can reccommend 100%

I find this to be very robust and not fragile in the least. I love the retro look of this and can make the most humble and plain cake or buns look appealing. I used it for a outdoor birthday party in summer and with some retro bunting managed to make the table and gazebo look like a village fete. The birthday cake was protected from flies and I had many admiring comments about it.

Simple yet elegant design. Flaws in the glass dome however (irregular rather than smooth rim) but not obvious once seated on the ceramic base. Slight dip (size of a fingerprint) on the surface of the ceramic plate as well. Outlet quality? Even so, considering the price and design, decided it was still worth keeping and am looking forward to using it.

I love my cake stand, so much so that I am on my second one (my husband dropped the base and smashed it). The dome isn't as fragile as I though it would be. I have brought 3 of these as presents for people. It is an ideal size for cakes and cupcakes. The lip on the edge of the base makes sure that the lid doesn't fall off the stand. A really good buy

Bought this item as a gift. I was quite confused by the previous reviews, some saying the dome lid was very fragile, others that it was quite strong. Actually found it to be adequately strong and although it did have a slight flaw in the glass this did not affect the product or its usefulness. It was very much appreciated by the birthday girl.
